Well, I have stayed there for 2 night and this is what I can say.
Great location. Its is next to all tourists places, the train station is just 10 minutes away. Unfortunately, this is all I can say positive.

The main concern is that the reception is opened only from 7 to 11am and from 3 to 7 pm. it means though that NOBODY WILL BE ON SITE all other time, and DOOR WILL BE LOCKED! Was your flight delayed? Was your train cancelled? you will be sleeping on a bench in a park.
Also, this hotel has no AC. And no fan in room. It wasn't a problem in early October but it will be too hot in the room during summer.
You will be given a room KEY! In 21st century! Real heavy metal key with a huge flat plastic sheet. You are welcome to fit in in a pocket...
You will be able to listen and actively participate in your neighbors's life :) - wall are thin, you will be able to hear everything. The building is very old, rooms were not renovated for a while. Plastic sink and plastic shower are small and not that clean.

Overall, this is good hostel rather than hotel.

Location is excellent - very close to train station. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Free breakfast was a plus. The room was very small. The hotel is dated. There is a small lift but we still had to go up a short flight of stairs to get to our room. It was fine for a shot stay.

An absolute nightmare in freezing weather.
I came back to Hotel Goldene Krone around 22:30 and found the front door lock completely broken — my key didn’t work, and no one answered calls or emails. Their voicemail only said to “send an email” while I was left standing outside in near-freezing temperatures. The Austrian police came, confirmed the lock was broken, and told me to find another place to stay for safety. I ended up paying €162 out of pocket for an emergency hotel just to have a roof over my head.

When I returned the next day, the hotel admitted the lock was broken and had the entrance propped open. On top of that, the shower in my room had black mold — completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be 3 stars.

This wasn’t a small inconvenience — it was a complete failure of safety, hygiene, and basic professionalism. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

This place is definitely not a 3 star hotel. Its more like a budget motel. So nothing matches up with the price.

Hotel is super old and dated. Everything is dark.

Beds were lumpy and old.
Shower drain was super slow and overflowed. No hair dryer in room.

Walls were paper thin. Window glass rattled each time a bus drove by.

Breakfast was cold and lacklustre.

Suggestion: choose a hotel slightly farther ftom train station. Innsbruck has an excellent bus system. Buses run every 10 mins or less on most routes.

This was a good price, which is what I was looking for when booking. It could have been cleaner (there was debris on the carpet), but the staff were very nice and the breakfast was nice to have included. I needed the windows open for air flow since it was stuffy inside, so the street noise was a problem for me when sleeping. Be aware of that, but the price is right if you are trying to stay on a budget!

Great location

Located was perfect, 6 minutes walk from the train station, you could see it from the breakfast room window. Also easy walking distance to the old town. The welcome card was useful as it gave you free local transport, we used it to go up into the forest. The room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a strange plastic room, but everything worked great, and it was a nice powerful shower. Staff were very helpful and friendly. You could also leave your luggage in storage if you was early, which we did. Be aware its not a 24 hour reception, we didn't find this a problem though. Breakfast was delicious and we found there was plenty to eat and drink. Highly recommend.

No Luggage Storage in the Hotel

Their service is terrible. I was a solo traveller and wanted to keep my Luggage in the hotel before and after my check in and check out respectively. The hotel refused to keep my luggage saying that there will be absolutely no staff in the hotel to collect / give the luggage back. It becomes very inconvenient for me to manage my luggage while traveling outside. Otherwise, the hotel provided basic facilities and the location was convenient.

Great hotel in center of everything

Great little hotel in the middle of everything and only about 8 minute walk max from the train station - Hauptbahnhof. Our room was really cute and the breakfeast room and breakfast was very nice. We arrived just after 1pm and unfortunately they do not man the front desk from 1-3pm so we had to hang out for several hours at a cafe across the street - so a small derating for that. We were looking right out onto the arch monument.

Great budget location to stay in Innsbruck. 5 min walk from the railway station and close to the main shopping street. The hotel gives you a bus/tram pass valid for the duration of your stay and also valid for buses up to local skiing areas. Definitely recommend. (My third stay there in a year)

Do not stay at this property there was bed bugs and eggs on the sheet. Hotel manager has not even sent a sorry message or offered a refund. We have taken photos of the bed. We did not stay at the property and we booked in to another hotel which cost another £135 per night

Never actually seen a bathroom like it - was like a porta-loo.
That said, the shower was decent , so perhaps I’m being harsh.
What is unacceptable though, is not having a functioning reception. Only open for a couple of hours in the morning and then in the afternoon.
Very unhelpful for travellers.

3 stars just about right

Maybe we are spoiled Americans but if no AC then at least a fan would be nice. Check in is not easy since the hotel is locked up until check in time so no place to put your bags. Check out time is a small window to. Has a 1970s feel but is clean, reasonably priced and very good breakfast. I’d recommend,but I’d probably not choose it again

Easy 5 minute walk to the train station, we found a laundromat maybe 7 minutes walk away, which was really helpful. Breakfast was good with several staff keeping it up. Check in was promptly at 3:00pm, not a second earlier but the door was opened maybe 5 minutes before.
There was no luggage storage left at the train station but we found an app that pointed us to this small restaurant nearby that also does luggage storage as a side business which was a big help.

Front staff were great, breakfast staff never cracked a smile. Old hotel obviously but very comfortable. We ran out of shower gel the first night, no refill next morning so had to go down and ask front desk for more, just 1 pillow each that were so soft you didn't even realise you had it, had to ask for extra pillows. The bed was amazingly comfotable too. Close to the old town and just about everything else we wanted to see. Great pizza bar just 10mins away, crocodile pizza bar, great friendly staff, the most delicious pizzas.
Be aware the Church/clock bells start ringing atound 6am and continue throughout the day until around 10pm.

Stayed in a single room for 3 nights in September. Very hot & stuffy room. The bathroom was very small although the shower was full size. Location was excellent, close to main station & easy walk to attractions. Breakfast was basic but very adequate. I was unlucky to get hotter than usual weather but I would not stay here during summer as there is no a/c.

Very nice economy lodging in Innsbruck's city center. That the front desk is not manned until check-in at 3pm can be challenging for those of us depending on the schedules of public transportation to arrive and depart (no luggage holding), but whenever I return to Innsbruck, I will choose to stay here again.

Absolutely first class. Only needed a one night stay and found the Golden Crown on Hotels.com. Good price, very comfortable room, nice and cosy (it had been 5 degrees during the day), friendly staff, lovely breakfast. What more can i say other than i would have no hesitation in staying there again in the future.

The hotel is very central to the old town and a short walk to the train station. Although the check in times are stated i.e. 07:00-11:00 then 15:00-19:00 having a flight in the middle of the day makes it akward because you can't leave your bags, the hotel is unattended.
Staff are friendly, basic breakfast but good enough (not good for vegans). Rooms are decent size but decore a little dated and dark. Comfortable beds and a good shower. On the whole it was a pleasant stay. 7/10

Since we were traveling with a lot of baggage the elevator was appreciated. The breakfast area was well replenished when a product was no longer avalable . A great budget hotel with breakfast included was good value for money. THe only improvement would be to have reception open between 11 am and 3 pm.

Location would have been great if only they would not have emailed us only 10 min before they closed to propose leaving a key while we were train hopping to get there. then no way to get access to our room or even to open the front door at 22:00, so we were alone with a young child in the dark waiting on the street in a foreign town. we ended up to rent another hotel 20min walk away in dark poorly lit streets. just because they could not have been bothered to let us know in advance the check in procedures. 10 min before closure is NOT what i expect from a professional hotel.
