Nice place with good access to the tram and bus that can take you into old town. Also your right near the Ambras castle which is maybe a 15 minute walk and worth the trip if your a history buff. It does cost $ if you want to go inside, but the grounds are open to the public. It's a beautiful location.

Pros and cons:

Pros: amazing breakfast; charming architecture and history

Cons: horrible internet; rock hard bed; verrrrrry moody manager. I asked months ago when I booked my stay if a fan would be available and was told yes and then was made to feel like a fool for asking for it when I arrived because I was told the room would be cool but rest assured some nights you need the fan (don't gaslight me please and just give me what you promised without a hard time); I stayed 4 nights and never had my room cleaned once but when I asked for an extra towel I was made to feel like a greedy fool. It's not a bad place, just some poor attitudes from some employees. Other members were amazing.

We stayed here for 4 nights for my 16 year old's birthday trip. After booking in, I reached out to the hotel in advance to get the balloons done in the room as a surprise and Tanja from the hotel was so helpful to arrange it. Thank you for it.

The hotel was fantastic, room was clean and spacious. The shower room was spacious and super clean.

The staffs are friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was the key highlight. Lots of varieties to taste in the authentic Austrian styles, in addition to the continental.

The location was convenient, easily accessible in 10 min from the city centre by public transport - bus or tram. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and the tram stop is just few minutes walk away. The hotel provided a pass as we're staying for more than 3 nights and it helped in the public transport and in getting some discounts in some attractions.

The views around the hotel is super scenic.

We enjoyed the stay here. Will definitely stay here again if we ever come back to Innsbruck.

Inside the main building was really nice , breakfast was fresh and plentiful , the hotel is to far out from anything theres no where to get food only a vending machine restaurant shut on saturday nite we had to eat early in town and get drinks ans snacks for the evening no kettle or tea/coffee in room ,staff didnt look very happy the reception team were abrupt wont be going back to hotel or innsbruck

Great property and service. Only downside was no Air Conditioning, which probably doesn't matter if you are not traveling during a July heat wave. It was not walkable to the town center but the Tram is right there and runs all the time.

What an awesome surprise and Gem! This property is right below Ambras Castle, wow! This property has been family owned for long time, they have their own beer (which is fantastic!). The rooms are very spacious with large bathrooms. The breakfast that comes with the room was massive and tasty. Dinner was priced very reasonably - you have to try one of their 3 snitzels ( the cordon bleu one was amazing!). This was our favorite property as we traveled across Europe this fall. If you are anywhere near Innsbruck, Austria stay at this property!

Just my experience....

We had a change in our trip which caused us to need a place to sleep for a few hours. Found this one on the hotels.com app and the app allowed me to book 2 rooms. It was in the early hours of the morning so I called them to let them know we just booked it on the app and we were on the way. Got yelled at and hung up on. We didn't even get to check-in.

Tried to get a refund, no such luck. They just kept the money. Why did the app allow me to book the room if the hotel does not accommodate this type of situation? The reason I booked this one was because it was one of the few that allowed me to book it.

Excellent View's,Location great,bus stop outside and straight into the city,parkig availabe across the street.
Restaurant oldie worldie style with lot's of ambience and well kept,staff very friendly and helpful,Hanens the owner is a font of information and was on hand most of the time.
Room's need updating and are pretty basic,no tea/coffee making facilities,no information packet,but these were very minor thing's.Would return again...

First of all, our room is on the first floor. Not recommended at all. 1st room was facing front main street. Very noise. People smoke in front. With room has no ac, we leave windows open; smoke came into our room. We exchanged 2nd room at the back of the building. Very quiet. But we didn’t realize that people hang out right in front of the only window we have and smoke. This time even worst. People can look right into our room. No privacy. Very bad stay. With all our concerns, how can they recommend the 2nd room.

If you’re expecting to be greeted with smiles or served food and drinks with smiles , this is not the place to visit .
Room is clean enough but has no air con when the temperate outside is in the lower thirties .
Pillows are atrocious and lumpy but the bed itself is comfortable .
The church bell ringing early in the mornings is very loud and guaranteed to wake you up .
Breakfast is good .

Great hotel superb restaurant but UNFRIENDLY OWNER

Hotel staff was attentive and relatively friendly. Restaurant was superb! However, the male owner probably can be more helpful and friendly.

I had misplaced my travel adapter at the last hotel and had to loan one for use in the room. However, the male owner who happened to be at the reception refused to provide the adaptor and insisted that we bring our phones and cameras to charge at the reception. Not very understanding.

Quite good however the bathroom linen was cheap and 'well used', one of the lamps had a habit of turning itself off, there were no USB plugs... But it is not a new hotel... And the lift makes a noise. But, breakfast was sensational, the restaurant is very good and the staff were accommodating. G

Would have liked a room in the main building

We stayed there for one night. The lady at the reception was very nice and she offered to take us to the room.
We were not very happy to see that our room was actually in another building across the street, where I believe people actually live and the hotel just got some apartments which they turned into hotel rooms.
The main building looked quite nice, we had dinner there which was ok.
We also went to the sauna on the 3rd floor, which was very relaxing, but then it was annoying to have to go out in the cold to get to our room.
Breakfast was great, lots of options available and good coffee.

Comfortable hotel. Restaurant was closed the day we were there, but rhere were several restaurants within short walking distance. Bed was comfortable. Wifi was good. Good breakfast buffet. No air conditioning, but fortunately it was not too warm. Not the prettiest location, but a good option if needing comfortable lodging.

Staff were excellent and the restaurant has good food. The rooms had no aircondition and were very hot. Beds were a little hard but pillows and doonas were very good. There was a lift but we had a couple of little stairs to cart the luggage of because of the position of our room. A very good stay and very close to a big shopping centre.

Don’t book this hotel if they have only few rooms left. You will be given a room on different building which is old and does not have elevators. We were on vacation for two weeks so we had told of luggage. We had to take it two floors up without any help from the hotel. Anytime we requested something the answer was always a very rude NO. Can I get the WiFi password over the hotel phone? NO, you have to come down to the lobby. Can I get a US to European electric adapter, NO it’s not allowed. How do you expect any guest from US to stay at your hotel if they cannot charge their phones in the room.

Hotel and yet Alpine Retreat

There are many things I experienced that will definitely see me making a 2d stay at the Hotel Bierwirt - but it was the hotel staff that one me over from the moment I arrived until the point I left. Thank you all for the most wonderful of hospitality and professionalism - such a point is very worth noting when a place has such a great staff!
Location wise is about a 15 min walk from downtown, but not far from the castle and many other items and in one of the distinct neighborhoods with many beautiful traditional homes. I really liked the neighborhood - and even more so - the views from my window of my room!
The traditional woodworking of the inside of the hotel is beautiful - and creates the feeling of Tyrol hospitality in itself, The room I had was very comfortable with a nice soft bed and duvet covers and shower with good pressure and hot water. It was very cozy and very much felt more like being in an Alpine retreat.
The breakfast was very good, and a large spread of foods. And the hotel restaurant was also very good - and I give a very high recommendation for anyone staying to try the wonderful creme of garlic soup! If you have never had it before - this is the place you want to try it at!

it's a very simple hotel. the prise is to high for a hotel that i think that should get 2 stars only. nothing in the bathroom, no shower hat, nothing else then liquid soup on the wall. no water in the room. no kettle. no mini bar! just a very simple big room. at the morning the room maid open the room door twice, just un believable!!! at 8:30... why??? let us sleep, we are at vicasio!! but the breakfast was just perfect!! i didn't sow in all hotels in Austria that rich buffet! also there is a smell of Spray for cockroaches, not invited to get in the room! I will not go back again!

Traditional Hotel with Nature at its Doorstep.

Amazing and beautiful hotel in a traditional Tirolean style. There is a restaurant for dinner and breakfast, and also the hotel has free parking! It is right next to Schoss Ambras, but a bit of a distance to the altstadt and main station. If you have a car it would be easy to drive there, but there is also a bus stop right on the corner.

I'd recommend this hotel if you want to feel that you are in Tirol and not just anywhere in Austria.

Very nice hotel. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They spoke excellent English which was useful in explaining directions to sites of interest and just getting around the city. The restaurant was outstanding with great food. The provided breakfast had a big selection. I would highly recommend this hotel

Staff at hotel were pleasant and spoke English well. Dinner was good and presented nicely. The garlic soup was to die for!!! The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom was nicely sized, all very clean. Since it was unseasonably warm, we opened the window for ventilation; a screen would have been good. Breakfast was typical European with meats, cheeses, bread/rolls, fruit, yogurt, cereals, coffee--all nicely presented.

Lovely old and traditional hotel

Very pretty traditional chalet style hotel in a quiet suburb of Innsbruk and really close to the motorway. Perfect for an overnight stay whilst travelling. Very good food in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room was a shame but the bed was comfortable and the room large. Staff very helpful and nice. Overall a very good place to stay.

Loved this Hotel!

Great location away from the hustle and bustle yet easy to get to everything. Friendly staff; the rooms were clean and comfortable; great sauna. Beautiful mountain views. The food was amazing; high quality and so fresh. The free breakfast they offer would cost 20 euros at other hotels and still not compare in quantity and quality. If ever back in Innsbruck I would not stay anywhere else.

I chose this hotel since it was easy to find from the hi way. I was simple stopping in Innsbruck for the night and this hotel served it's purpose. Room was clean, Bfest was good, but I didn't have chance to explore the area or spa.

Cosy traditional Austrian hotel

We loved this traditional Austrian hotel, a little out of the city centre but easy to get to by tram 3. Well worth it. It's in a beautiful location looking up at the gorgeous Alps. Staff are lovely, breakfast great, free sauna and huge rooms. Would definitely stay here if I ever come back. There's a dairy around the corner with a fresh milk dispenser! the restaurant is fabulous too, no need to go out. We woke up to the sound of birds chirping and the church bells ringing.

Booked a room for 4 people and got a suite with 2 separate rooms. Probably the largest arrangement we had on our entire European vacation. Very comfortable beds. Great breakfast.

Hotel works best if you have a car as only downside is that it is a couple of kilometres from the centre of Innsbruck. Only stayed one night but certainly pleased with stay.

chose this hotel as a late ski getaway. would not normally have been our choice but due to time of year 1st jan 2013 everywhere was fully booked in ski resorts. however we were not disappointed, the free ski bus every morning was great but you are only 20mins on local bus away from nearest ski resort. the free ski bus takes you to a central bus station where you hop on which ever ski bus you like going to different locations, if you dont mind the travel to ski resorts this is perfect base as you have city close at hand too. cannot fault hotel in any way, our room was huge not in main block but over the road, it was very clean, breakfast excellent, and would recommend it to anyone.

A real Austrian experience

Lovely place and very friendly staff. We stayed in a tripple room which was spacious and reasonably comfortable. The breakfast was devine. Unfortunately we didn't have dinner inthe restaurant but it seemed very popular with the locals and very busy so it must be good. We wished we stayed longer at this hotel and Innsbruk.

Wonderful place to stay.

We stayed one night in this beautiful hotel. Everything about it was excellent. We had a clean, spacious room and bathroom. The view of the mountains was gorgeous. Staff, were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return and would recommend this hotel.

Uma estadia muito boa, localização de fácil acesso ao centro por ônibus e ao lado de um grande shopping center. O café da manhã do hotel é muito bom e os recepcionistas são muitos agradáveis.
