I have stayed previously and it was great! This time there were noisy children in the hall, someone sent them bsckvto their room. The room I had (222) had a door to an anointing room. Someone was trying to open it!! I had it fully secured but still felt uneasy. I didn't get to sleep until after midnight with traveling the next day!

When I arrived at the Hilton, they said that their boilers were being replaced and they had to send meet door to the Holiday Inn Express. At first, I was disappointed, but the Holiday in was REALLY nice. It seems very new. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was immaculately clean.

Had made a reservation there by accident for the 14th... meant to reserve for the 7th. I stayed there on the 7th by booking directly at the front desk and asked for a refund erroneous booking on the 14th but spark would not give it to me after repeated attempts by Expedia. After being a loyal customer there I will no longer go there ever again and I will tell everyone I know to avoid it.

I think the man who helped me his name was Roland, but I’m not sure he was horrible. He put me in a room next to the laundry. The room was so stuffy. It was like it was wet in there and it was hard to breathe. I woke up and was sitting in the lobby at 3 o’clock because I could not sleep. I was coughing. I couldn’t find him anywhere. He was rude when he checked me in it was not a good experience and the hotel had plenty of rooms. Even the lady upfront knew he had been complained about this week.

The overall quality of the property was superb! The problem was that they participated in a type of BAIT AND SWITCH!! They advertise that breakfast is included in the room cost. When checking in, they tell you that the breakfast is not much, but they have a restaurant on site where you can purchase a great breakfast!! I made sure that I ate at a breakfast restaurant off site the next day!!

Also, none of the rooms have plastic or paper cups to drink from. A desk person informed me that this policy saves them thousands of dollars. This is very NONE Hiltonlike in my book!!

It matters where ;you stay. Sound familiar? This snobby advert slogan backfired when we tried th SPARK BY HILTON. The only thing that saved this place was newness. Not even a cup to take pills, no coffee, crummy breakfast and area. Yes it does matter where you stay….NOT HERE

Front desk staff was really nice. Gave us the room at the end of the hall when he saw our luggage (we got in and out easier and could run back out to the car as needed). Beds were comfy, shower was great, shampoo made me smell nice. Close to Farelli's, Fred Meyer, that cute Royal Bean coffee shack (hi, Sally!). It was great!

Clean and quiet, and not too expensive, at least when I stayed there. If I have one complaint it’s that the only jelly they had at breakfast was grape, but hotel breakfast always sucks anyway.

Here’s what they nailed, and I don’t understand why every hotel in the world isn’t doing this yet — the TV has streaming services on it, so you can log into your own streaming accounts, watch your own stuff, and it automatically logs you off when you check out. Why on earth are there still places that don’t do this? Why am I still watching cable channels at other hotels? I cut the cord over 20 years ago, so when I stay in a hotel it’s like going back in time. But this place doesn’t do that, and I appreciate it so much, because while I usually just check in, sleep, and get back on the road, this was one of those trips where I had to sit around the room for awhile.

I’d prefer a little softer bed and a big fuzzy blanket. I like the pillows though.

Signage is a bit lacking — if you drive in on the back side of the building, which is what your GPS is probably going to have you do, you are likely not to see any signs and you’ll end up trying to check into the Holiday Inn. The guy there told me it happens a lot.

Overall, a good experience. I don’t know why I’d need to stay in Olympia again, but if I do, I’ll try to stay here.

This facility was easy to book, easy to find, and had competent staff. The amenities were slightly above average with the exception of the breakfast, which, like most hotel breakfasts, is very much lacking for protein. The coffee was weak. The immediate surroundings were below average, but it felt safe... just sort of bleh. Exercise facility was OK but, again, like most, very small. My room was on the second floor and I experienced a quiet evening and night with almost no neighbor noise. The room was clean and well-supplied. The entertainment was good quality and easy to operate. The wifi was good enough for all my needs. A good place to stay, but nothing exceptional.

This trip included myself and my 3 young daughters. I know the area pretty well, however Spark by Hilton was new for me as I now live out of state.

The outside doesn't seem like anything super fancy, but upon entering the hotel itself was very nice. The rooms were huge with plenty of table space, a mini fridge, and a nice sized bathroom. The pool was clean and well kept. My kids loved the breakfast options, for me it was a little light, but overall nice for the price of the hotel.

Our most favorite thing about this hotel was the front desk attendant, Roland. This man was exceptional from the second we walked in the door. My kids were always bummed when he wasn't working, as he had the best conversations with them. It means so much to me as my husband was still back home, yet Roland went out of his way to entertain my kiddos and make them feel welcome at the hotel as well. We will most definitely make this our go to hotel when we go back to WA to visit our family. Overall we had zero complaints.

Inexpensive vs. Cheap

Spark, which I had never heard about before, is Hilton’s idea of a budget chain. It was definitely priced well compared to others in the area. But there is a difference between low price and cheap. Spark is cheap. Every corner that could be cut to lower cost was. For example there are no glasses or cups of any kind for water in the room. I thought this was a mistake made by a maid. The front desk told me it was policy. Now that is being cheap. If you don’t make a habit of brushing you teeth or taking medication, the room is large and clean enough. But personally I found it uncomfortable for reasons I could not put a finger on. Slept really badly.

It looks like renovations were partially completed: new bathroom tiles and vanity but the new tub was moving while in it so it was not set up correctly. The wall adjacent to the tub appeared to have water damage which is either happening now or happened before and was not painted over. Found some hair on the back of the toilet.

The actual hotel was fine but they called at 2a the night before to ask if I was checking in despite a cancelled reservation. Also refused to refund a mistaken booking that I attempted to fix immediately weeks before actual trip.
Breakfast was more about aestetics then quality or variety.
Also wifi is not free and service in that area is not good.

Unfortunately, Expedia booked a room when none were available. We drove an hour and a half from our home on the WA coast in anticipation of the tsunami from the 8.8 Russian earthquake. We arrived at midnight to find no room available. Nonetheless, the night clerk let us use their facilities to reach out to Expedia to arrange another room. He was so kind and helpful, I would want to stay at Spark next time I need to spend a night inland. Kudos to this property for such pleasant and accommodating staff on a stressful night!
