I booked a room for 3 nights. I had read reviews by others and now feel it’s very overrated. I know it’s an older property but expected more. I would not say the property is dirty but it really shows wear. Also, they need to get a new linen service. The towels were the worst, very rough. The mattresses were very hard and of poor quality. Not the hotels fault but the room next to us had a very loud group that was up until 3 am.
I got the sense that there were guests that were disappointed as we were. We seemed out of place surrounded by groups of partiers. There is nothing wrong with that but if you are looking for a nice, relaxing, upscale hotel this is not the place for you.

There was 1 staff member who was overwhelmed with the influx of guests at and the service request and it showed with her frustration in handling customers complaints. I had an issue with the access cards given to me in gaining access to my room 204 on 6/19/26 and her initial response was it was not her problem when she was prompted by the staff for assistance who was doing the check in.

We brought our great niece for a couple days, we had a few issues. We had trouble with volume for tv, no stopper to take a bath, one of the rides that you used point card on did not work and kiddie pool not filled and indoor pool closed twice and hot tub was shut once. Hotel needs to invest in more updates. Overall our great niece had fun she loved the ice skating.

We had to call for towels and etc. Did not have a coffee pot in the room had to call for that. Kitchen sink was plugged up. All in All, the room was very clean, quiet and nice it was overlooking the ice ring.

The outdoor pool, patio, and bar were closed during our stay. The indoor pool was extremely hot and uncomfortable. We had two rooms booked -one room was very nice and clean while the other room had broken doors, stained bedding and shower curtains, the lock on the patio door didn’t lock which was discouraging when younger children were with us. The restaurant food was average. The staff were helpful and accommodating.

I stayed here for a short weekend getaway with my family. We booked two rooms that were side by side.

Initially everything was good. Check in was smooth and easy. Our room was nice and clean. Assistance was offered to help bring our luggage up.

Upon arriving to our room, we noticed there weren’t any towels provided so we called to notify the front desk. They said that they would send someone up and no one showed up. I called a total of 4 times before we got towels the next day.

That same night, we noticed that the sheets had not been cleaned out of the futon. We called to request new sheets and again, they finally replaced those sheets the next day as housekeeping came to clean the room.

Our kitchen sink began clogging up on the second day. We did not notify the front desk since we had tried several times to get someone to our room unsuccessfully.

My daughter lost her iPad that day we arrived and was unable to locate it during our stay. Her location showed that it was somewhere in the hotel. We notified the front desk and security immediately assisted us in looking for it. Thankfully, the iPad was stored away with security after finding it in the lobby area.

The hotel felt safe and staffed at all times. The location was great. The food and drinks were good at the bar and grill by the pool. Plenty of things for kids to do.

We requested a crib before we got there and they did not provide a crib at all. Also housekeeping did not provide what we needed. Staff said we will provide with the request and they never did. Also there was a few days where we had to go down and ask for towels and wash rags which they provided towels and hand towels to wash with. Will not stay there again.

Property is old and it shows. Things are just old here. Rugs in the hall are worn with holes, ceiling tiles have water and mold stains. Room furniture is dated and worn. No plugs for modern phones or devices. Only one regular outlet between beds. Window bar was broken. Bathroom knob was loose and hair dryer was not great. Sign on back of room door for exiting hotel in case of fire was completely missing. Restaurant was not worth the money with few options. Outdoor pool was out of order so we can’t comment on that. Indoor pool was nice and warm but cloudy. Indoor hot tub was nice, but only warm not hot. Indoor pool area was old looking with cracks in concrete around pool and hot tub, and a dirty looking ceiling. Outdoor faucets for cleaning sand off of feet were missing in places and again just old. It’s a fine place to stay for a day or two. I wouldn’t want to stay here longer than that. Keep your expectations low and you will be good. Hopefully, this property will get a redo soon as it could be a great place to stay rather than just an ok one.

Half of the bathroom was broken, cabinets, metal bar hanging from the wall. Tv didn’t work in the room, and both lightbulbs were burnt out. The staff was helpful in getting us a room, but after spending almost two thousand dollars to stay here I definitely would have expected more.

The room was somewhat okay, a bit on the older side. The rest of the building was pretty nice, the views are immaculate. Staff was rarely needed/seen, however the front desk agents were SO helpful! The building has access right to the Beach with a private walkway. I especially loved that our balcony was private ! Other than the negative parts such as the ac being on the weaker side, the elevator being down in the ocean view building, and the raunchy service elevator we had to use, the building was fairly nice. Would recommend . However it would be better just to get a condo if you have a family !! The pool was nice and heated too, and the hot tub was just amazing. A bit overcrowded because of the outdoor pool being closed for construction, but nice. 😊 visit was pleasing. I do recommend!

Worst experience I’ve had to date. Housekeeping was a joke. The room wasn’t clean. Not enough towels for how many guests we had. The balcony was absolutely disgusting it was sticky, there were things melted on it and gum. The air conditioning felt cold and sticky in the room there was no way to adjust it. The drawer handles were sticky. We weren’t given anything at check in for pool codes, so not disturb, maps for the property nothing. I went down to tell them about the balcony and showed photos. They assured someone would be up to clean it within 10 minutes. It was two hours and it was still sticky after. At checkout I said I was there to checkout, he asked me what room and that was it said you’re good. No print out of itemized list, I had to ask for it. And he didn’t even ask how our stay was. Gave me the paper and looked back down. That was just a summary. We will not be going back. At all. Do not recommend.

The hotel has a great concept and a unique atmosphere. The restaurant, beach access, and outdoor pools were enjoyable. Unfortunately, the property feels outdated and poorly maintained. The biggest issue is the noise. Guest room doors face the indoor atrium with the ice rink, and the sound insulation is extremely poor. Throughout the night, people were shouting, singing, and talking loudly, and it sounded as if they were right outside the room. Although there is a quiet-hours policy after 11 PM, it was not enforced, even after complaints to the front desk. We also reported that our room door had nearly a one-inch gap at the bottom, allowing even more noise into the room. The front desk said maintenance would fix it, but nothing was done during our stay. Housekeeping is only provided upon request, but guests are not informed of this. As a result, rooms may go days without cleaning, fresh towels, or trash removal unless specifically requested. Another recurring issue was the room entry door, which often took several attempts to unlock and open. Other guests reported the same problem. The indoor pool appeared neglected, and the water looked noticeably dirty. Overall, the hotel has potential thanks to its location and amenities, but poor maintenance, lack of noise control, and service issues significantly impacted our experience.

We’ve been coming to the carousel for over 25 years. The last two years we had zero Internet access and last year I was forced to drive all the way to Best Buy to get a 3G/4G modem that hunters and people in remote areas use to be able to have Internet access. My wife and I both work remotely so this was like a getaway and a working vacation but every time we were in the room or anywhere near the room, we had zero signal and had to travel to different places to gain Internet access.
I complained to the front desk numerous occasions, and they told me there’s nothing they can do and I told them I wanted to cancel my subscription under false pretenses and breach of contract since they promised working Wi-Fi and still nothing. A front desk worker stopped by my room and provided the password to the internal carousels Wi-Fi, which is carousel_meeting.
Still no Internet access.
While we were in the room for the entire week, they only cleaned the room once and no there was no do not disturb tag on our door knob.
We will never be staying there again, which breaks a family tradition and we do everything we can to have the carousel make this right because they breached the contract.
IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING TO STAY AT THE CAROUSEL, BE CAREFUL BECAUSE EXPECT NO INTERNET ACCESS UNLESS YOUR PHONE IS ABLE TO DO SO WITH ONLY 1 SIGNAL.

THE CAROUSEL COMPLETELY RUINED OUR TRIP.

This used to be a wonderful place. Problem is they are letting parents check in there kids for senior week and the parents are leaving. Saw the parents talking to kids and watched them leave the place was over ran with 17-18 years old . We were also greeted by young kids swearing at you as you came in the hotel. A lot of weed use in the rooms . 2nd night lots of kids hanging in hall ways knocking on doors running . Staff did take care of it but having to deal with it at all was upsetting. Having 4 grandchildren rented 3 rooms it was not what I expected to have to deal with at a family friendly hotel like this . Very upsetting when u pay all this money and stay so far down not to deal with this . Stop renting to young kids or make sure there parents are staying. Won’t be staying again . I like to sleep on vacation not be woke up like I’m staying at the barefoot mailman motel.

Second time staying at Carousel, the staff was still friendly and helpful and the lobby was nice. The room was a bit different; last year I was on the the third floor, the room was nice and clean. This year, fourth floor: bathroom floor was crusty, shower floor was yellowed, there was a hole beside the bathroom door with a few spiders hanging around, and all the towels we had were stained with yellow patches or small red spots. I understand that the hotels at OC have been around for awhile and it's costly to fix up spots or replace linen so there isn't much to say. Carousel's pool and hot tub were still really nice and the beach access as well. The cleanliness of the bathroom, towels, and sheets on the bed is just what urked me a bit. I feel like stains, especially yellow and red on both towels and sheets, should just be replaced or maybe at least bleached to try and remove the spots. It just looks really dirty and with newbunknown sickness floating around, it can definitely make a guest uncomfortable.

When first entering room and checked everything out, when I entered the bathroom there was a roach crawling on bathroom floor.
Then after the pool, they had a room heater we used due to how cold it was. Use the blow dryer to dry hair, the whole room blew a fuse went completely dark. Maintenance came in a good 10 minutes to fix it. Kids kept running down hallways banging on doors at night and morning. I can say it is family friendly!

My original room the AC was broken brought it to the manager at the front desk and she dismissed me because she didn’t want to move me to a upper level room since I was on the ground floor facing the pool. I was suggested to open the door and put a fan in the doorway to get cooled off because the room was 76°. I expressed my concerns for safety and it seemed like she didn’t care because she was worried about the money instead of her customers happiness.

There was no AC in the \"old part\" of the building stating the hotel was in nuetral for changeover. The room held at 77 degrees with a singluar box fan given. Maintenance began on the pool at 7am sharp on Saturday- loudly- feet outside on ground floor beach front room. Ocean view obstructed fully by tiki bar.

The staff was really friendly and supportive, but the building is very old and not well kept. Even when we set the thermostat at 64 we had to open the door and let 50 degree air in or the room was a sauna. We were awakened by a fire alarm one morning and had to leave the room, only to find out that a maintenance worker with a sander had set the alarm off and there had been no fire risk. Not the best way to start a vacation day.

This resort has so many amenities & extremely close to the beach. The balcony view was top tier. As much as I want to give this resort 5 stars I can't because the beds were entirely to hard.
