I love that they have complementary breakfast, but the pancake stove should be changed to the waffle irons. The overall is nice I stay there every year for the car cruise season.

The bed was comfy. The pool area was fun for our daughter. The rest was not a great experience. The gentleman that checked us in mumbled to us, didn’t explain anything (the other employee next to him checking other guests in gave a friendly in depth explanation of everything). And when I asked him two questions he gave me a one word answer and rolled his eyes both times. We were placed on a floor entirely booked by grad students who threw a party on the entire third floor which was shut down by police. When I called the front desk to ask what was going on and that it needed to be sorted out I was snapped at and told “I don’t know what you want us to do, the police are checking it out now.”

Definitely one of the craziest and confusing experiences of customer service and security I have ever experienced while traveling.

We checked in and took a shower we realized that there was no conditioner or body wash into containers. I told the front desk and they did provide me some mini size ones for that evening. And told me that someone would take care of the next day. No one took care of it at all.
Free breakfast is something that they Supply in the morning but the pancakes were coming out the size of quarters. There were no juices available.
The other thing that was frustrating but not sure if it was written in a fine print with hotels.com is it they charge an additional fee on top of what I prepaid with hotels.com.

The cleanliness of the room was disappointing, not the basic cleanliness like the floors or beds but more so in much need of a deep clean (ceiling vent in bathroom, walls, light switches, etc). It was so bad in our room that I had to wipe down the light switch and something unknown splattered off the wall.

The 10pm quiet hour/curfew doesn’t seem to be enforced since we had rowdy teens on our floor yelling and playing in the halls so sleep was scarce (not so much the fault of the hotel but nothing was done about it).

We also didn’t have a very pleasant interaction with a staff (not sure what her position was) in relation to the pool. It was apparently closed from the night before due to maintenance. We asked front desk if they had a possible timeframe of when it would be re-opened since we were departing that day. He said it was fixed and good to go according to the pool maintenance man. We proceeded to get into the pool with our toddler and were berated by a female staff member and she said the front desk staff had no idea what they were talking about.

I was really hoping to enjoy our stay at this hotel since our toddler loved the pool area and convenience of nearby places we frequent but I can’t say we will be back.

Check in was fast and friendly. You can see the ocean from the rooftop of this hotel. Also on the rooftop is a top notch restaurant/lounge. I spent the afternoon in the pool/hot tub/splash pad with my grandson which was a very nice experience. Maid service was very good and they were helpful with helping me get my hair dryer to work. This was one of my top three traveling experiences. You can't go wrong with the Fenwick Inn!

We stayed for the weekend and due to a handful of teenagers staying with their families, they were screaming all hours of the night running down the hallways. Nobody made our room up and when I inquired into it, I was told that we were supposed to ask? I have stayed in over a thousand hotels around the world and the room was always made up and never had to ask. Breakfast free and not appetizibg at all. We will never stay there again! The only positive was the staff was very friendly.

Friendly staff, clean room. This room did not have a beach view but was spacious, didn't feel cramped. Liked the short walk to the beach to watch the sunrise. The grab n go breakfast however was fair. The room was small to accommodate the flow of guests and some items that should have been out were not there. It felt rationed.

Room was clean. Noise was a HUGE ISSUE. The dog floor had kids running and screaming early am & late pm when it was supposed to be quiet time and caused all dogs to bark. Rooms are not soundproof and we heard the elevator the whole time. Sleeping was impossible. Hotel bar /restaurant was 5 stars. Excellent food, drinks & atmosphere with sunset views. We didn’t utilize the pool but had tons of kids at all times. Very reasonable for what you get. Small dog area for bathroom though. Restaurant was definitely the highlight of our stay. Most staff were pleasant.

The stay was nice the room was clean. The has to wait at the front desk for about 15 minutes upon arrival to check in. In fairness it was a late check in but they were sleeping so it took a while to find her and wake her up. The breakfast was nothing to weight home about. Bagels
cereal, pancakes that was all. Again in fairness it is off season.

We return here often! The location is in a quieter part of town, only one block from the beach, with fast and easy check-in and out. The restaurant and bar are a wonderful convenience, especially when we check in late on Friday night and want to unwind with a drink and a delicious snack. And the view is great! The room is always clean, spacious and pleasant. The breakfast is a tasty extra, and the indoor pool is really nice for year round swimming.

You could see a tiny sliver of the ocean. The man on the front desk was deaf and in his 80's. Very pleasant, however did not know how to operate the check in computer and needed help. The place was empty. My towel had make up on it. Not mine! The toilet handle was broken and had fecal matter on the lid--I have a photo--and I never did get hot water in the shower.

The room was fine. The bed was very comfortable. But: the coffee maker was broken, the television was placed on the desk, making the desk unusable. The floor of the shower was incredibly slippery; my husband almost fell, and I opted not to take the chance. We asked at the desk for a non-slip bath mat but they had no such item. The coffee in the morning was probably the worst we’ve ever had. Pretty much brown hot water. Breakfast was adequate but not much to speak of. We also had Valentine’s Day dinner in the rooftop restaurant. The food was very good, but we were seated in an extremely noisy corner, almost on top of a very busy bar. There were many nicer tables available. The “complimentary charcuterie board” was the size of a coffee saucer. Also, the cutlery choice in this restaurant is really awful. The handles are as thin and pointed as knitting needles. Super uncomfortable to use and impossible to twirl pasta with. I asked for a spoon and was offered either a teaspoon or a large serving spoon. Not really impressed with the lack of attention to details that would have made me happier about spending $150 on a special meal, to be honest.

The customer service upon check in and check out was horrible. Upon check in the woman seemed to be annoyed and hated her job. I checked in and explained I had my mobility service dog with me. She continued on to state that I still had to pay the $30 dollar pet fee regardless if it was a service animal or not because I booked a pet friendly room. I asked to speak to the manager on service and was told there was no manager available and that she would do me a favor this time and not charge me. When entering our room, the room was filthy, dog hair everywhere (I understand it's a dog friendly room but the room still should have been cleaned), goldfish all shoved down in the heating/ac unit, dirty coffee cup under the couch, hair in the shower and the wall looked like it had severe water damage. I tried to overlook the dirty room because my kids were super excited to go to the pool and splash pad. OH WHAT A NIGHTMARE.. we walked into a birthday party..the hotel now rents their breakfast area for outside birthday parties that includes up to 50 guests. There were kids everywhere in the pool without any adult supervision. Tons of outside floats, balloons and other trash in the pool. I tried to enjoy the hot tub, what a joke. I had children jumping over me, splashing me, kicking me in the hot tub..again no adult supervision. I brought it to the front desks attention and was told there was nothing they could do since it was a birthday party. The breakfast was a joke. Not Worth it!!!!!

We stay at the Fenwick Inn every year - sometimes twice a year. This has been for 405 years at least. We always have such a clean room, the pool being inside is amazing when it is raining or cold out, the breakfast is great. However, this time when we went we had a slight miscommunication that really put a damper on the whole trip. I called before booking to ask about adjoining rooms. They said they could not guarantee it. Understandable. I booked 2 rooms through Hotels.com. I called the hotel directly to say I knew they could not guarantee it but asked if they could note my account that we'd like to be adjoining or next to each other. They informed me I booked the wrong rooms for adjoining but could make a note to put us next to each other. They ended up putting us almost a complete hallway apart - just on the same floor. It was very disappointing. Then the front desk guy was very rude about my request to be close to each other. This was in December and we never saw anyone near us the whole time we were there - so doubtful that they couldn't put us a little closer together.

The ONLY COMPLAINT was the lack of courtesy from a senior front desk employee. Never a smile or courteous demeanor given during our stay. Ask a question and always got abrupt answers. My complaint was shared along with other family members and guests. This is not a reprimand on his demeanor but a suggestion to make known to him a customer especially during the holiday season should be responded to with a friendly approach. The curmudgeon personality was not at all acceptable. Otherwise our stay at the Fenwick was delightful.

Room was nice....nice layout and it was clean/ready upon our arrival. It's close to everything we like in the area including the Winterfest of Lights and also the restaurants that we enjoy going to. Only complain about the room was faucet in the tub; when you turned on the shower, the faucet still poured out from the bottom so pressure was just ok. Being elderly my husband and I would have like handrails in the tub/shower area; but not a deal breaker. Like the restaurant upstairs for a nightcap before heading to bed. Ample parking which is always nice. All in all it was a good stay and we definitely would be more than happy to stay there again
