The place is exact opposite of it’s name— “Quality” : dirty, smelly, broken, run down!
Shower curtain rod folling off, hair dryer fell off the wall’s attachment, room walls are half painted over the old paint: maybe it’s a new “style”! Do yourself a favor and stay away from it!

As soon as I walked in the lobby the smell of cleaning supplies was so overwhelming it made me feel sick. Check in took for ever, there were signs all of the wall in the lobby behind the front desk. Stating if you are unhappy with your room you have 20 mins to complain. If you have a dog that hasn’t been told to the front desk there would be a $500 fee.

I got this room for my son. He said it was seedy, dirty and looked like a place where you rented the room for hookers. They ended up not staying because they thought it was not safe.

Our biggest issue was the shower, barely enough water came through to say it was even a shower, I had to get out and rinse my hair in the sink!!😡 when I brought it to their attention they just said sorry. Tv remote had no batteries in it, but that was an easy fix, they took care of that. The end table had cigarette ashes (or of likeness) in it?!?! Before we got there, still had them after 2 days there, in a non smoking room. Sheets on the bed were clean.

When I walked in to the room that I was originally given, room 228, it smelled like massive amounts of perfume. There was hair on the bed, there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the bottle of shampoo was pushed like it had been used. It was unacceptable to me, so I went to the front desk and complained. The lady on duty showed me another room, also on the second floor, but it also smelled like massive amounts of perfume. Not acceptable. I told the lady that this would not do. She was able to show me another room on the first floor. It was much smaller than the other rooms. However this room did not smell like perfume. The TV in this room, room 202, did not work. I have pictures from that original room, room 228. The stay at this Quality inn and suites was not fun and should have been so much better. It was terrible. I will never stay at a Quality inn and suites again.

Beds had hairs on them, people sitting outside smoking and front desk personnel was nice but cold to our concerns. Bad vibes, bad area and totally uncomfortable environment from the moment we stepped inside. No elevators. Whole experience made us feel so uncomfortable that we left within 15 mins of arriving. The updates to the carpet and the rooms were nice but the cleanliness was horrible. And the bed linens/ pillows were just cheap and nasty. Once I pulled back the cheap / stained bedspread and saw the little hairs and debris on the white sheets- it was over! Rented and paid for two places to stay and only slept in one!! Worth the wasted money to get the hell outta there for my daughter and I!! So bad after a loooong fun day and was stressful. Nope!!!!

Room was not very clean - tub was gross. All surfaces were visibly dusty. Thousands of fingerprints on the microwave, big stain on one of the bedspreads. There was NO remote for the TV. The desk gave us one to try but it. Didn’t work.

There was a beyond-dead poinsettia in the lobby with a sign saying \"Christmas is about family\" during my early October stay.
The room door (interior) was filthy, there was toilet paper stuffed in the security peephole, and the security latch was entirely broken and non-functional. These are all easy fixes, ergo it seems the management does not care and/or is not paying any attention.

The main problem with this hotel was an overwhelming, caustic odor, probably from the incorrect use, or overuse, of cleaning products. It was everywhere, in the lobby, the hallways, and the rooms. At first, I expected that the odor would diminish after the cleaning crew left, but it did not. The odor persisted all day and all night and greeted us every single time we entered the hotel and our room over our four day stay. I am not exaggerating when I say it hurt my lungs and gave me headaches.

The carpets were quite old and filthy, especially on the stairs and in the hallways. The floor of the bathroom was slick and left a sticky residue on my socks and the bottom of my shoes.

I can only assume that they were trying to hide the filth with \"clean\" smells. Either that, or they were misusing the cleaning products. Perhaps they are meant to be diluted and they were using the products at full strength. I suggest that the owners and management stop trying to cover up the filth with excessive cleaning products and just move directly to renovation or tear down.

We have been home for ten days, but despite constant airing out, I can still detect that disgusting odor in our luggage. In the past, we have had good experiences at Quality Inn and Suites, but I think the brand has been permanently damaged in my mind. Since this hotel meets their standards, I don't know if I will ever risk staying in one of their hotels again.

The girl at the check in desk was extremely kind, but honestly the positive review stops there. The worst offense to me was the ton of overbearing pine tree air fresheners, you know, the kind you hand from your rearview mirror? The \"black ice\" scent was WAY overwhelming, especially when we walked in to our room and there were three of them sticking out from the top of our mirror to (I guess) freshen up the room? Also, one of the headboards was all kinds of warped, the bathtub had wierd black stuff in it (dirt? tiny bugs?), the sockets for the lamp were broken, the hallways had a STRONG smell of marijuana, etc. Again, they were super nice there - they obviously cared very much about what they were doing, I would just spend a little more and stay somewhere that had a better rating next time.

I couldn't gain access to my room after returning in the evening. I was scheduled to check out the next day. I'm not going to stay at another Quality Inn. This also happened at another Quality Inn in New England. The coffee was misleading because, it was dark but tasted like water. The waffle mix was too thick, and the syrup was not sweet enough. Sausage links were gray and uncooked. I also heard noise in my room. I don't know if it was the a/c heating system or construction. The stairway carpet needs to be updated.

Where do I start? There was black mold in the bathroom on the wall and at the bottom of the tub there was holes in the walls. There was clip toenails on the sofa when I pulled it out for the sofa bed. There was a drip pan underneath the kitchen sink to catch the water that was dripping. There was absolutely no dishes or should I say clean dishes, a.k.a. plasticware in the room the coffee pot was filthy dirty, and had a used coffee pod in it holes in the walls. The people that are living there not staying there for a short time up all night, slamming doors, smoking pot banging on walls floors I have stayed at several motels at least monthly for the past 15 years and never been in such a filthy place or felt uncomfortable going outside I don’t wanna say uncomfortable unsafe The room was so filthy dirty that we chose not to eat breakfast that was provided in our room cost because we didn’t know how dirty the kitchen was so we ate elsewhere.

This property was a major disappointment. It is interesting that different properties under the same chain’s banner could offer such different experiences. I understand that they are likely independently owned, but I’d think the Quality Inn brand would have some minimum standards. We stayed the night before this at a Quality Inn in Northampton, MA, and had a lovely experience, then came to South Portland and were sorely disappointed. I won’t go into all the deficiencies of the room, but the standout experience was being told that the hot water dispenser at the lobby coffee and tea setup was not available other than at breakfast. This was a first for us. The staff member who imparted this news was quite sullen and seemed angry that my wife wanted to make a cup of tea upon our arrival in the evening. The general tone of the facility was one of all the things that we were not to do. Hardly welcoming. While we are not inclined to give up on Quality Inn properties, we will spend more time studying the reviews in the future. Beware!

South Portland, Maine: The room (101) was old and beat up. The AC unit, sink faucet, bathtub (had no water plug), walls, and flooring all needed work. This room was in no way worth $200 per night, and belies the name \"Quality.\" Interestingly, I stayed in another Quality Inn by the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque a few days later, and by contrast, that was a beautiful room and great overall experience.

Pet friendly for a small fee per dog (depending on size). Room was not well maintained (needed some fixing) and the floors in the room were dirty.

The room was run down and minimally cleaned. I made the mistake of looking underneath the armoire for the TV remote and saw a sea of dust and multiple dead cockroaches. The mattress and bedding were comfortable enough, but overall it was a below-par experience.

The staff was ok, but the hotel is very stingy when it comes to providing basic things like towels and toilet paper. They seemed to ration toilet paper like we were staying on a deserted island. There was literally 1/2 of a used roll in the room when we arrived. We had to repeatedly ask for additional rolls.

Ive stayed here before with no issues. Last night's my company sent me an expense check to pay for the room. This took several hours to clear. Around 6 when it cleared my phone died so i plugged it in. The male manager came out screaming to get off his property or he was calling the police. Because he assumed i wasnt a small business owner that USED to book 300+ stay a night at quality inns. We terminated that contract today. Avoid this location unless your into police involvement and some crazy man cursing at you in a foreign language. Creepy he also said hed been watching me alll day so shut your blinds

First off, there was a smell when we walked in the office area to check in that smelled like cleaning or disinfectant chemicals that was so bad I needed to step outside. The breakfast area was right there and I could not have eaten in there. Walking up the stairs (no elevator) the carpeting was dirty and had actual globs of dirt all over it. When we went to our room the smell was there as well. plus tbete was a large ring of black mold around the tub, the sink faucet was coming loose, the uncarpeted floor area was sticky. We turned the AC and fan as high as they could go (I don’t think any cool air was coming out) and left for a few hours. The check in person was apologetic, they sent a housekeeper up to scrub the tub and he used some type of cleanser that was so strong smelling it was even worse. We were offered another room but that one smelled as bad. I will never book a room at a Quality Inn again.

When I checked our bedding upon arrival, it was stained and dirty. We then had to wait 4 hours after check in for housekeeping to change the bedding. The door latch on the room was also broken off and didn’t latch properly. If I was staying here alone I would have left because I wouldn’t have felt safe. Will not be returning.

The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, but the stench of deodorizer permeated the entire room, including our clothes and luggage. The toilet was not very clean, the sink had two huge cracks in it and there was a big hole above the sink where the light fixture had been replaced. The floors looked clean but were sticky. There was an office chair but no desk or table. Breakfast was not bad, but you are not allowed to take it back to your room (maybe because there's no desk or table?). We are not planning to stay here again.

The room smelled strongly of disinfectant, the furniture was partly broken, and there was a slippery film on the floor. Booked this room for a bachelor party, so not like they needed the nicest room to sleep in.When they checked in there was a sign in the lobby that stated a room complaint needed to be placed within 20 mins of checking in. The room smelled so badly of bleach one guy couldn't even stand to be in the room for more than 10 mins. There was also carpet cleaning powder all over the tile. They complained, and were told there would be a 20% discount to the rooms.. They were charged full price, and Expedia left it up to me to call the hotel back and get them to honor the discount... which I still haven't gotten. When I called on a Thursday, I was told the manager wouldn't be back until Monday.... All and all a terrible place and terrible experience with Expedia...

I’m not sure if I was misinformed, but this hotel is not a hotel. It’s a motel. The entrance to your rooms is from the outside individually which I was not comfortable with - when I asked for a room upstairs, they were going to charge us more for the stay just because the rooms upstairs were 2 queens instead of 1 king bed.

When I walked in, ⅔ women at the front just stared at me, very uncomfortably.

Once we got into the room, the floors were sticky,

The lady who checked us in was very friendly and knowledgeable. The lobby had a very strong fragrance... cleaner of some sort. The carpets really need to be cleaned both in the lobby and the rooms. They could probably do some in depth cleaning to the whole building. But overall, not a bad place.
