Older property but has been updated to a degree. The beds were very comfortable. That was a big bonus in my book. They did not have a hair dryer however. Which I have seen in every hotel I've ever stayed at. But but the little kitchen area was very nice.

Went to Office and was told that Hotel was full..they finally moved me to another Room on Tuesday.
The Outside was nice..but overall....Disgusting.

I checked in on a Sunday. Spoke to the young man at the desk about checking out a day early. He said he can't do it but the manager can. She'll be in Monday morning. I went back the next day in the early afternoon and she was already gone for the day. I mentioned wanting to check out a day early and they said come back the next day. So i did the same thing and got the same results. On Wednesday morning I was packing up my car and a couple stopped and asked me how my room was. We ended up chatting for about 10 minutes over the deplorable beds and beat up rooms. I told him I stayed in a Marriott down the street. He was heading to a Holiday Inn. We both went over to building where the front desk is. He politely let me go before him. I told the woman at the desk my situation with all the details. That is when they tell me I have to go through Expedia to ask for a refund and then the hotel can refund my 1 day. She did pop her head in the office to speak to someone and then told me yeah because I booked through a 3rd party I have to talk to Expedia first.
Fast forward to Friday. I get online and get a hold of a rep for Expedia who call the hotel. They said they had no record of me mentioning anything about checking out early. Nor did they take any blame for the terribly uncomfortable beds that we only slept in 1 of the 4 nights.
Expedia tried their best but the hotel refused. I was also given about 6k in points for my next hotel NOT BBR.

Do not book with this hotel

I went through hotels.com to book my room and was shown the room I would be receiving and all the amenities. They ended up giving us a room that in the old building of the boardwalk hotel which looked like something out of a crime movie, complete with drunks and drug deals. When asked about why were not given the room in the new building we were told that it was due to going through a 3rd party which is not true. The elevator was a death trap and the whole place should have been condemned

Think twice before staying here.

We paid over $700.00 for a 5 day stay. Housekeeping no longer makes the bed...they empty trash and replenish the towels .. Instead of our room being in the newer tower we were placed in the shorter building that needs painting on the outside, insides, hallways. The room was not vacuumed when we checked in nor was it vacuumed in the 5 days we were there. The bathroom needs a good cleaning. The door from the outside parking lot to the inside vending area stays open 24/7 and is propped open with an orange hazard cone...which is very dangerous.. There are dozens of nice and clean hotels on Ocean Blvd that are fairly priced...we will be reserving rooms at the other hotels for our next trip. The shorter tower, which we were placed in, needs a serious makeover inside and outside if they intend to compete with the other hotels on Ocean Blvd.

The hotel is pretty run down. Our balcony door wouldn’t slide and broke when I tried to close it. Bathroom was remodeled. Rest was pretty run down. Elevators were kinda scary. No bathroom at the pool, or towels. No secured entrances, anyone can come and go anytime they please. It was fairly quiet until the weekend came and then good luck sleeping

The view to the ocean was pretty good. The place is like going back to the 90s it was so out dated needs a renovation. Also the beds and blankets are in a desperate need of replacement. Need a better house keeping. Room like it was not vacuum in a long time. I would suggest pay a little more and don't let Expedia trick you with the pictures. The rooms are nothing like what they look on the pictures.

This place is old, ceiling cracked, stove is so old, no space between bed, table and air conditioning. The key wasn’t even working to go inside the room, I have to call the receptionist. This hotel needs to be condemned. We were placed in the smaller hotel beside the one that we were under the impression that we had booked. It had boards over the doors, ripped curtains, torn up lampshades, carpet was ripped up and patched with newer carpeting, cigarette butts on the balcony floor, pubic hairs in the shower and in our bed. We used the sheets from the other bed to sleep on. If my husband hadn’t booked this for my birthday, I would have pitched a fit when I saw the conditions of this hotel, but I kept my mouth shut I did the best I could to tolerate it. He was so embarrassed but I wasn’t going to humiliate him by complaining. The constant 24/7 smell of marijuana was nauseating. I’m an avid traveler, and this is BY FAR, the ultimate worst hotel I have ever seen in my life. Disgusting place.

I have stayed at this location multiple times before, but this time will be my last. The building I was in needs major repairs and upgrades. It smelled old and moldy. My room was in the north building and it was not even worth a while star. I was very disappointed in my stay.

The place was filthy, almost impossible to get into the room because the key (an actual key) was too long, the sink was leaking, and it looked like there was some sort of bodily fluid on the carpet. We were told that if wanted the room cleaned then they would bring up a vacuum cleaner and we could clean it ourselves. The chairs on the balcony were busted up and the table was used as an ashtray. Sketchy place. Also, they said that the pools are heated...they are not.

Definitely request the middle tower. We got booked in one of the outer towers and it was not good. I called the office and requested a new room. I had to pay a little more for the new room but, it was worth it! Great view from room. We had to adke for towels also. They didn't bring them to us. Alll in all the price and location was great!

View was amazing! Hotel allowed the “bikers” to get a little too rowdy in the parking lot (which our room was right beside). Stayed 5 nights and only saw housekeeping one time in the hall and got clean towels. Otherwise we NEVER saw them!! We didn’t need much but by the time we left our trash was overflowing and we had run out of toilet paper!!

The carpet was dirty and in poor condition, the furnishings were old and worn. The sliding glass door to the patio, did not fit in the track properly, also when the wind blew the glass door would rattle in the metal track, I folder a thick advertisement and slid it into the track so the door could not move back and forth. Also, although there was a parking garage across the street, I had to park on the north side of the north tower, where my car was in the sunlight, and it was very hot inside each evening when I would leave to go to dinner.

When the room was booked, check in was 3pm. Upon arrival I was met by rude hotel staff and told I had to come back at 4 to check in. Upon re arrival I had to wait in line for a hour to check in. Once checked in, my resort fee taken, I was then informed my room was listed as a departure instead of arrival, therefore, it wasn’t ready. 2 additional hours later, 3 to 4 phone calls to Expedia later, being placed on eternal hold by Expedia and never being properly handled by Expedia, my family and I chose a different hotel. We never stepped foot in the room and am still waiting on a refund from Expedia.

When I checked in the room was filthy. The beds were not made and the sheets and blankets were on the floor. The bathroom was dirty and the room wreaked with the smell of marijuana! I immediately called the front desk and they said that all of the rooms were booked, but they assured me that housekeeping will clean the room in the morning. Next morning, housekeeping did not show up. So I walk over the office and then I was informed that housekeeping does not clean the rooms until checkout due to Covid. They gave me a couple of clean sheets, blankets, and towels so I can clean the room MYSELF. I booked a 3 night stay and had to live in filth. My fiancée's birthday weekend was ruined. Thanks a lot Boardwalk Beach Resort!

I was disappointed with this hotel. The rooms were outdated, the carpets filthy- I wouldn’t walk on them barefoot. The elevator worked sometimes and we were on the sixth floor. The hallway carpets were even worse than the carpets in the rooms. Filthy, bleach stains, and worn.
We paid quite a bit of money for this place and certainly didn’t expect the conditions that we found. I will not be staying here again.

Worst hotel EVER!

Since my first original review wasn’t accepted by hotels. com, I am having to write a second review with less details Boardwalk Beach hotel in Myrtle Beach was the dirtiest, oldest, dated hotel I’ve ever stayed in/ and I’ve stayed in a lot due to my son playing travel ball. Toilet, tub clogged, pool was dirty, only one old working elevator. Hotel advertised on line through hotels. com was misleading and not accurate. Paid ridiculous fee for one night stay and it was the worst experience ever. Even my kids said they’d rather go home than stay.

I booked a ro here through expedia to attend my sister's funeral. We checked in late in night and we're given a room in a building beside the actual hotel you see on website . It was like a hostel or scarrey movie . The door wouldn't lock ,tons of roaches,all cabinets and furniture super old and filthy,the shower barely ran,burn holes in bed and chairs ,carpet torn and gross in room and hall,filth so thick on walls and feet of furniture. I checked out and told attendant all this she said I don't know why they even put you in that building and to call expedia . I talked to expedia ,they called hotel and the hotel lied and said I didn't tell them why I checked out early . GIVE MEY REFUND AND DON'T EVER PUT ANYONE IN THIS NASTY BUILDING . MY NEXT CALL IS THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

Other than all of the above, good location, plenty of parking spaces, decent front desk service. Watch out for hidden and unpublished fees. Building needs some serious renovation! Health Department should shut it down until an overhaul renovation!

It was nice to have a little get-away with my husband. But the cleanliness of our room was not that great. The bathroom was still dirty, mirrors were so streaky and so were the dishes. I had to wash the dishes before my husband and I could actually use them.. I mean I expected to have to rinse them maybe but they were dirty. Stuck on food, etc. They had to be scrubbed.

When I got there to check in I was initially given a room on the 6th floor and was told by management that the room was just cleaned. Once I got there to the room the bed was unmade and looked as if someone had just gotten out of it. There was half used soap in the tub and a cigarette lighter on the other bed. I took pictures and went back to management. I asked for another room perhaps an upgrade for my trouble and was told NO because I booked with Expedia. I was given another room on the 7th floor which appeared clean until we got in the bed and found someone’s check in paperwork under the blanket. I will NEVER book at Boardwalk again.

I called the property before making my reservation and I was told the amenities was open. Got to the resort and none of the amenities was NOT available as well I was given a smoking room which was dirty and smelt terrible. The manger said all she can do is apologize. So they lie to get your money and make you come when the amenities are not open then put you into dirty rooms

Be careful when booking....

Very rude front desk staff, to me and others. Elevators looked worn out, the shower/Tub still had hair in it, the lock on the door was not sturdy, metal keys, looked as if it had not been updated in a very very long time, we stayed in the north tower so it wasn’t the nice main tower that was pictured as advertised. It was a holiday weekend and they didn’t have any upgrades (even though a man booked a condo while I was turning in my keys) so we left and stayed somewhere else. The main tower may be nicer but I wouldn’t take a chance, not knowing what tower you’re going to get a room in. The balcony was nice and looked updated but the chairs on the balcony looked to be from 1985.

I didnt like that the pool and lazy river was not open. I booked at a resort so my girls ages 2 & 3 could get in the pool. They should have posted on the website that the pools and lazy river was not open.

The outside of the hotel was nice. There are some renovations going on at this time which was not a bother to me or my husband. I found that this specific hotel os owned by several differnt managment companies and therefore which ever tower you got was the quality you got. We got the north tower. I have heard nice things about the middle tower. I would not recommend that any one stay in the north tower. Unless you want a contact high. Mold and holes in your curtains. Satined bedspreads. We paid a little over 200 for one night. Plus a $23 key and resort fee. I am unsure why we had to pay the extra as the pools (all of them) were either closed or green with beer cans floating in them. No chairs or anything to take to the beach. I don't mind the fact they didnt have chairs to take i am just curious what the extra resort fee was for... I would not stay in this hotel again. They seriously need to step up their game for these prices.

Very friendly staff. Night manager especially. Things that were disappointing were not advertising bring food and coffee. Sliding glass door had no handle on outside couldn't lock it either

Had to go back to the front desk the first two days I was there to have them Unlock the room because they kept an extra deadbolt locked on the room as a security measure for the off-season. The bed was sunk in the middle and uncomfortable as if you could feel springs through the mattress. The ice machine on my floor did not work the one on the first floor leaked and had water all over the floor they had to keep it wet floor sign out the entire time I was there. Had to leave a five dollar per key deposit which was to be returned after I checked out as of yet I have not received my deposit back to my account.

No continental breakfast and I was charged extra fees that I didn’t know about when I thought everything was paid for.I didn’t like that there was no coffee in the kitchen like everywhere else I have stayed.
