Comfortable bed and very clean, close to the station. Nowhere to put luggage except the hallway in to the room.. Coffee making available but out in the hallway nook. No staff onsite but messages were answered very quickly.

No good information for the parking lot !!!

The room which I stayed was very small, a wash basin-too small, the shower hose was dirty, however I like this hotel and right enough for me. Need to be mind it that the parking fee was more than 13,000.Yen for a night.

The hotel was extremely close to the train station, but far enough away from everything in a quiet area. It was easy to find and above a nice bistro. The cost of the stay was reasonable and we enjoyed it. We saw the pictures and we knew we were getting a small, efficient room. Some would be surprised, but we liked it. We had a nice toiletry bag set up with essentials and a jinbei/ PJ set. The coffee bar outside the room was convenient. We would stay again.

Great place to stay

Very close and convenient to shops and the station. Staff was very friendly and good at English. They helped us book a private onsen at a place close by from the station.

We stayed for 1 night. It was a pleasant stay. The room was well appointed and the hotel location is great - its literally just outside the Yumoto train station. Only minus is that the room was on the 3rd floor and they do not have an elevator. But Mizuho - the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and even helped us carry our bags to the room. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others and stay there again.

The positives - very close to the train station, staff very friendly and helpful and speak English, stylish features in the room, bed the most comfortable I had in Japan (where I found most too hard). The negative - room was tiny and over-furnished to enable four to sleep there when it should not have catered for more than two (we were only two) so inadequate space to open suitcases. They need to remove one set of bunks to provide more space and light and thereby make the room more comfortable.

Perfect little hotel

This was a spectacular little hotel tucked around the corner near the train station. The room was small but extremely well designed and comfortable and the bathroom was huge. The little Italian-ish restaurant downstairs was absolutely perfect. Would recommend and stay there again and again.

I rated this property tops marks for specific reasons.

I knew from reviews what the hotel offered. I needed a nice place for the night, close to station as I was on an overnight trip from Tokyo. I only planned on sleeping in the room as I was touring and needed to leave early.

The bed was a double bed, plenty room for two. It provided a good nights sleep. The room was small, with the bed taking up the complete space, except for small entry way and complete bathroom. The hotel is very clear about the size. The room works only if you have one or two carry on luggage. You can open bigger bags outside in the common space, however I would not recommend you take large suit cases. Use Japan's famously efficient luggage forwarding for larger bags.

The size of room was what I expected, but where it earned tops marks, was it's convenience close to the station (2 minutes) and restaurants, it's cleanliness, and comfort of the bed. The town is a quite place at night, so no concerns about noise.

You also get many more amenities than expected. However, it was the staff that were so helpful on arrival that gives it an extra positive to earn a top rating. The coffee machine in common area is also a nice touch.

Try out the restaurant connected to the hotel. We had brunch there, and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Overall I rate this hotel highly because it is what it says it is and delivers on that. It is very good value for money, in what is normally an expensive accommodation town.

We arrived earlier than check in time and they told us if we wait for a few more minutes we can check in as the room will be done cleaning so we got to the room early which was really nice. They were very nice and friendly. We got a welcome drink which was refreshing. The location is perfect as it’s by the train station.

The lodging is small but very convenient to town and train/bus stations. The staff were very friendly and could speak English which was helpful. The attached restaurant was tasty but a little pricey. The rooms were very small and created challenges with suitcases and waking.

7-11 nearby with food,drinks and everything you need (convenience stores are v convenient in Japan).

Room is small but for a single traveller it was comfortable enough. Only thing to remember though is not to bring a big luggage. Location wise, it was perfect as it was near to the shops, restaurants and bus stops. It is a about a 3 min walk to the yumoto station as well. Check in and check out was easy too.

Staff was super friendly and did everything they could to help. They give you a welcome drink, and map with Onsen (hot spring), restaurants and things to do. It was really only like a 2 minute walk from the Hakone Yumoto station. It is on the left side on one of the side streets, but they have a fairly large sign with their name on it. Centrally located, I would definitely stay here again. I had the Hakone Free pass, and it was nice being able to just walk a couple minutes to the train or bus stop.

The staff members are very attentive. Before we even arrived we had several e-mail messages preparing us for our stay, it was made clear that the rooms are very small but that the hotel would do all it could to meet our needs. They certainly met our needs. They are all friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but they are clean, very quiet, comfortable and have a lot of amenities in them. The location of the hotel is fantastic. We will certainly return to Yumoto Station Hotel whenever we visit Hakone.

Wonderful experience

We really had a wonderful experience here. The staff was very helpful. She made great recommendations for places to eat. She took time to make reservations for us at the onsen. The bathroom was quite luxurious and very clean. It was convenient to the train station and activities. The only issue was the location was close to a major road and you could hear the night time traffic. We were pretty tired so falling asleep was not too hard especially with the comfortable beds.

Ok let’s address the elephant in the room... the rooms are tiny, but let’s move passed that & see everything else. With a bit of forward planning this is an absolutely great hotel. If you are visiting Hakone for 2-3 days then this is perfect. The staff are very welcoming, friendly & speak good English.

They very sweetly have created hand written maps & guides & give you these on arrival which are useful for onsens, museums & transport information. They also provide a welcome drink & paperbag with biscuits. What’s not to like.

We arrived with our large suitcases & in a room that small it was a mistake. If possible I would suggest using the lockers at Yumoto station and take a small bag with only what you need for your stay.... hindsight is a wonderful thing.

The bathroom and shower are compact as you would expect but again for a few days it is great.

I cannot fault this place and if you plan ahead a bit then you will not be disappointed or at the very least just accept it will be cramped with 2 full sized suitcases with bags.

Just book it, it’s awesome!

Awesome Experience! The hotel is the close to the train station and very easy to access. The hotel staff was really friendly and helpful. The only thing I would note is that if you’re traveling with a large bag, this might not be the place for you since they don’t have an elevator. That being said the staff did help me carry my bag to my room when I checked in. I would definitely recommend!!!

A small hotel with 7 rooms. The staff are very friendly young ladies. The location is convenient. The bed is Japanese style. I am happy with the facility, except sitting on tatami with a low table. Not grew up in this way of sitting, it is not comfortable in that position for too long. The photo is the lobby. First time I see a lobby outside on the street. If I come back again to Hakone-Yumoto, I will stay at this place again.

A very lovely hotel in a very convenient location. Amazing place to stay if you decide to visit Hakone. Less than 3 min away from the train station that goes to Odawara and Shinjuku.

The thing I love the most about this hotel was the toilet! The toilet was very clean, spacious and really a great way to end a very long day of hiking and exploring.
Only downside is that there are no elevators so be prepared to carry your luggage up and down. However, they have a very lovely team of staff that will help you throughout your stay!
Overall, a very great experience and I can't wait to come back.

Definitely will recommend this to anyone who visits Hakone!

Very near station & main road, so great location for staying in Hakone-Yumoto. Limited hour reception. Make sure you're not too late. Staff member we interacted with was a very nice young woman who only spoke a little English, but was very kind. They will store your bags if you arrive before check-in, but be prepared for tight quarters. Not enough space for more than 2 people in the entrance while the under-stair closet door to where bags are stored is open. No elevator, so be prepared to haul your bags up and down.
The room was nice & spacious considering the cramped entryway, but some things needed to be improved. The room had a slight smell, but not horrible. With windows opened it was fine, but be prepared for early morning outside sounds in that case. The sliding door to the bathroom kept coming off the tracks and would get stuck. A few other issues of this kind, but overall experience was a good one. We only stayed 1 night, so there's a limit to how in-depth I can be.
We stayed in the 2 person tatami/futon room & friends stayed in the bunk bed 4 person room. Both seemed nice. Bathroom in ours was great. TV in the shower/bath. Pro-tip: take colder showers if hot and humid as whole room will become sauna. Photos definitely make it look bigger than it is, but was still decent size. Only other negative: took our towels to an onsen they recommended (which was awesome & tattoo friendly), but then had to use again in AM because reception was closed when we got back.

Convenient location

Is a nice hotel which is cosy and near the train station. But it is a small and no lift access. Got coffee machine which is great! There is a restaurant below the hotel.

Great modern room to sleep.

Fabulous staff, wonderful restaurant on first level and clean, clean room. Our room for 2 was small and cozy, but for the moments you need \"rest\" from your travel day, it's perfect and priced wonderfully. Check out the larger rooms too to compare if prefer more space. This is by far the TINIEST room that I've ever stayed in Japan, and I have been here 12 years ;) It was also one of the BEST rooms that I've ever stayed in.
What it lacks in floor space, it makes up for in cleanliness, friendliness, and convenience.
* Super close to Hakone-Yumoto station.
* Hand-made guide \"book\" given with information about restaurants, onsens, and other useful stuff.
* Discount coupon for breakfast at the Italian restaurant on 1st floor.
* Super friendly staff.
* Cool fridge, microwave, coffee service area on 3rd floor.

I will definitely keep this in mind for my next trip to Hakone!

廁所有點令人不舒服

酒店沒有電梯，需要自行搬行季上房，比起酒店更像一間學生宿舍。 房間整潔乾淨，只是馬桶有點黑色的污垢，水龍頭位置也有發霉的狀況，令人感覺不舒服。位置則是100分的。

一階が美味しそうな飲食店で混んでました。
コンビニは近くにセブン、ローソンあり。
