Stayed here for the weekend for the Knicks Finals and the Puerto Rican Day Parade after unfortunately having to leave our first hotel because it wasn’t what we expected. This hotel truly came through for us when we needed it most.

Although they’re still putting some final touches on the property with minor renovations, we didn’t hear any construction noise during our stay. The room was clean, quiet, and included convenient amenities like complimentary bottled water, a mini fridge, and a microwave.
We also had a balcony. The view wasn’t anything spectacular, but it overlooked the street where we parked our car, which gave us some peace of mind. Street parking was easy to find, and since parking is free on weekends, it worked out perfectly for our trip. The L train is also just a short walk,so we never had to move our car once.
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there’s no real breakfast area. They have a small coffee station with a few seats, but I was hoping for a bit more. It wasn’t a huge issue, just something to keep in mind if breakfast is important to you. They also have a gym, which I didn’t get a chance to use, but it looked nice.
The highlight of our stay was definitely the rooftop. It’s on the smaller side, but it’s beautiful, with great views of the city, a bar, and TVs. We were able to watch the Knicks Finals there without dealing with the packed sports bars. Instead, we got to celebrate with other hotel guests in a much more relaxed state.

I was disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The refrigerator in our room was not working, and although I reported the issue to the staff, nothing was done to resolve it during our stay. I was also looking forward to using the hotel amenities, but everything was closed due to “rain conditions” even though it wasn’t even drizzling outside. It was frustrating because we paid for a hotel experience that included these amenities and were unable to enjoy them. Overall, the lack of responsiveness and poor communication made our stay less enjoyable than expected.

Says there’s garage parking and there isn’t. You have to walk a few blocks away to a tiny parking lot that they don’t even own. They also said they have a “cafe” and the cafe is literally a table with a coffee machine in it. Entrance was dirty and seemed a like part were still under construction with stuff pulled in corners. Rooms were overall nice but I walked in and the heat was on when it’s 90 outside!

The shower in my room took nearly 10 minutes to get warm. On the day I checked in, I noticed the issue and reported it to the front desk. Later, I was told it had been fixed, but when I returned to my room, it clearly had not.

A staff member eventually came to the room to check it. They ran the shower for 5–6 minutes before the water finally started to warm up. However, this was after I had already run it for 4–5 minutes myself before going back to the front desk to complain. To make matters worse, the water continued getting hotter the longer it ran, so I constantly had to adjust the temperature to avoid it being either too cold or scalding hot. They did not change my room and I was there for 2 days.

At checkout, I was asked about my stay. I explained that it had not been great because of this issue and the way it was handled. The front desk agent simply responded, \"Oh, okay. Have a nice day.\"

Between the shower problem, the lack of concern from the staff, and the extensive renovations taking place in the main lobby during my stay, I was shocked by how much this hotel charged. Based on my experience, I would not recommend staying here.

The TV had no options to stream the normal services, particularly Prime. The issue was regardless of whether I logged into my personal account or not, there was something wrong with the software on the TV. I asked for it to be fixed three separate times and it never got done. Unfortunately, the service is getting worse at this hotel.

The hotel seemed pretty new and the staff was very pleasant, but they were undergoing renovations in the lobby so accessing the lobby was challenging, and elevator didn't work. The room was clean however, the hotel should really consider a new contractor to do the renovation work. The bathroom had terrible tilework and caulking especially around the sink, it was plastered and not finished and the toilet was moving around. Looked good, but don't look too close. Expected better finishes for the room price.

It was a little off the beaten path which wasn’t too terrible. But there is a large construction site next door that was a little loud. Also the walls are kind of thin. They are in the middle of a renovation though so I had to give them grace. The staff was friendly and the room was clean, if a little small. Very close to a subway station too which was nice. Overall not too bad.

I really appreciated the promptness of the staff in responding to any requests we had during our stay (e.g., the TV was not functioning properly when we arrived - changed out later that morning within minutes). We did have an issue with other guests smoking, most likely within their rooms, because it could be smelled in the hallway and our room to some degree. This was abated, even for a short while, after staff addressed the issue with those responsible. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our stay and will hopefully book another stay in the future when we visit the NY area again.

Didn’t mind the coffee not in the room as the set up in the lobby was accommodating however I didn’t bring a blow dryer and there weren’t any available in my room, perhaps the front desk had them had I asked. We did have a couple knock on our door at 10:30 at night which was alarming, they were looking for some friends they were to meet up w to go the roof top bar. Having the floors more private for the guests and separated from those not staying at the hotel would be more comfortable. The bed was comfortable!!!

Jamais je ne retournerai à cet hôtel. Les chambres sont sales et très mal insonorisées. On entend les avions décoller très tôt le matin, à un point tel que cela nous réveille. Il semble y avoir seulement un employé pour tout l’hôtel par quart de travail.

Si vous aimez sentir l’odeur de cannabis tous les jours, cet hôtel est parfait pour vous. En plus d’être mal situé et loin des petits cafés, restaurants et attractions, il est entouré d’immeubles abandonnés et de terrains peu accueillants.

Et pour couronner le tout, la personne responsable de l’entretien écoute sa musique à très haut volume dès 7 h le matin, ce qui m’a réveillé, malgré deux plaintes faites à la réception.

Très décevant comme expérience.

The room itself was fine: clean, updated, quite large, bright and had adequate closet space. The bed was EXCELLENT !!! The door handle was loose and jammed when a screw came loose. I repaired it myself but it remained loose but lockable. Part of the shower was broken but one could still shower (carefully). The staff was friendly and available. Next to the property is a very noisy scrap metal yard. If your room is on that side of the hotel, the heavy truck noise early in the morning is quite annoying (ask for a room on the other side of the hotel). The hotel is one short block to the “L” train (subway). SO convenient !!!

I had a disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. The pictures on the website were misleading, as the actual room was quite different from what was advertised. The staff was friendly, but they were also uninformed about our stay and the changes we requested when we asked to change rooms. The manager was never present, and the Roof Bar and access were closed. The “coffee bar” was just a Kursk, which is not an actual bar.

Rooms not very clean, mildew smell throughout the entire hotel, furniture is IKEA or some lesser form of quality, mattress folded like a taco on the first night laying on it, hotel smells like dirty but also like it’s in a constant state of being cleaned… think “dirty mop water”. Definitely not my favorite hotel. Our room was on the first floor which was level with the street. The room had big picture windows directly looking onto the sidewalk without any privacy shade or similar. So you either needed to be comfortable with being on display or keep the blackout blinds closed all the time. Also, the people in the room next door to ours had a loud party starting at 11:30 pm. I tried calling the front desk multiple times but they never answered so I had to get out of bed, get dressed and walk to find someone to get help with shutting the party down. Also, the water in the shower did not stay warm and I ended up taking a cold shower, which was unpleasant.

Many broken furnitures, door to the bathroom is unnecessarily too heavy and handle came broken when we entered, as well as the shower handle was easily broken and got off with the slightest pull, the shower door is also too heavy and dangerous with no door cushions it could easily breaks in the future, the entrance to our room also has no door stopper so the wall was very dented and will break in the future, overall it was poorly designed and built.

The location is convenient and close to the event my group was attending. We stayed in one of the loft rooms in the basement. The room reeked of cigarettes and weed. The floors left my socks black. Our AC was not working in the room and was not fixed after asking about it twice. The staff was friendly and otherwise helpful in getting the pull out couch set up for us. The rooms upstairs may be cleaner, but the basement room was just dark and dingy. For $300+ a night, I expected it to at a bare minimum be clean and not stink like smoke.

Since we were traveling with our adult son we chose a loft room as it has a single pullout bed in the lower level. The lofts are in the basement. There is a high window by the stairs that is at street level. To make it private the glass is covered with an opaque scene of NY. It felt a bit dark and dungeony, to be honest. But it was clean and met our needs. Since the hotel is close to our daughter in Bushwick we will try again in a traditional room. I’m betting the upper floors are much nicer. My son liked the gym! The roof deck was closed due to rain, bummer. Staff were helpful and we found parking right outside the door on the street.

The room was very dusty. The loft steps looked like it hadn’t been mopped or dusted for months. The hot water in the shower did not work. After running the water for more than 10minutes, the water was still dirty. The refrigerator wasn’t working. I had to turn it on when I arrived but by morning the fridge was no longer on and my dog’s food was spoiled. This is my 4th timing staying here and the experience just gets worse and worse. The only reason I return is because my event is so close by. Otherwise, I would never return to this hotel. They need to hire better cleaning crew. And why does the elevator not work after 10pm?

The Nova Hotel has become our place to stay when we're in the area for a concert. It's well situated near the L, and although the area looks a little rough, we feel safe. There are several coffee spots/cafes in the area, too. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially Sam who checked us in. The amenities aren't special, but they're fine. Bed was comfy, shower felt great, and the large glass wall/window looking over to Manhattan was great. The room seemed clean and although small, it was just what we needed. Next stay we hope to be able to check out the rooftop bar.

This was a horrible experience. The first hotel room had dust plastered to the walls and the AC wasn’t working. The front desk then suggested I move to another room which I did. I immediately noticed what appeared to be makeup smudged on a pillowcase. There walls were all patched up but not painted over. I asked for towels. 5 were delivered, all containing at least 1 small, coarse coily hair embedded into it. The shower options were either burning hot or freezing cold. When the water was on, the wall shook and made a loud buzzing noise. I went to the front desk and asked for a manager. They said I’d need to email the manager. They said they were unable to provide any kind of refund, that it was up to Expedia. I called Expedia who mentioned it was actually the hotels decision. I checked out a full day early and brought my business elsewhere.

My room itself was mostly fine — appreciated having a fridge and microwave — but the hallways and common spaces were so unpleasant. Blasting club remixes even at 1AM, weed smell so intense that I wondered if people were smoking *in the halls* rather than in their rooms, people standing right outside my door and yelling up the hall for extended conversations since I was near the elevator. If you go in expecting a hostel-like experience for an atypically low rate for Brooklyn, I think this would make sense, but I was tired and a little sick coming straight off a business trip on the other side of the country. I was hoping for a similar experience to other budget but still \"normal\" hotels in the neighborhood, and didn't get it.

Called ahead like instructed about late check in. Arrived and was given a non balcony room. Immediately returned to front desk to inform them and they informed me the balcony room was not clean and would take 2-3 hours to be cleaned. I inquired about a partial refund as I was tired and could not wait. I was informed to email the manager as they were not on site and given a business card. I emailed the manager before leaving, properly checked out if the hotel and left the room extremely clean. Upon checkout I asked again about the partial refund, was told manager was not available and that I needed to contact the third party site directly for partial refund. No response to email sent to manager. I called hotel twice to speak w management and was told they were not on site. Contacted hotels.com about a partial refund. Hotels.com contacted the hotel to mediate and get them to approve refund. They provided every excuse in the book not to refund in addition to the room was left dirty. The room was left extremely clean. All linens on the bed, garbage in the trash can, used wet towels in the shower not on the bathroom floor. Management and staff here are a joke and liars. Beware there is a fire alarm box that is going off and was still going off when we checked out, no water in the coffee machine and an empty bottle of creamer. Elevator smells funny and they will try to push any room off on you and make cleaning staff not having rooms cleaned your problem.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from start to finish.

Upon arrival, I noticed a lack of cleanliness in the common areas. At one point, I even observed a staff member responsible for cleaning behaving in an unsanitary manner while on duty, which raised immediate concerns about hygiene standards.

When I returned to my room the first night, I discovered that the bed sheets were visibly stained and covered with hair. I had not yet used the bed, so it was clear the room had not been properly cleaned after the previous guest. I requested a room change, which the staff accommodated.

However, the second room presented additional issues. The sink was completely broken, and the mirror was partially detached from the wall, creating both inconvenience and a potential safety concern.

To make matters worse, the gym facility was not cleaned at all during my three-day stay. Trash was consistently left throughout the area, making it unpleasant and unusable.

Overall, this experience reflected a serious lack of cleanliness, maintenance, and attention to detail. I would not recommend staying here unless these issues are properly addressed

We got duped by the positive reviews. This property needs repair: the hot water wasn't working, the toilet seat coming off, screws in the drawers, and lack of hotel guest support. The room phone always went to voicemail and front desk was hard to find. Also the room was without a hair dryer. We contacted Hotels.com for support and hotel denied all claims. This is very disappointing that a hotel cannot accept responsibility for their shortcomings. Hotel guests beware of this property!
