We had a great stay! We stayed for 7 days and really enjoyed it. We loved Ray from entertainment, he was always keeping the energy high and was so fun. Caeser and the other guys from the swim up bar were always amazing and made amazing drinks! We also really enjoyed Mr. Chelly’s fitness classes. overall it was a great stay.

I was in a Diamond Club swim out room. I must say Wil our butler was GREAT! In my ratings I put staff at good but I didn't mean Wil. I was here 2 yrs ago and I must say the quality of food has gone down except for the sushi
restaurant. bacon and burgers undercooked, steaks chewy, scramble eggs looking like rice, I wasn't a fan. I did LOVE the massage, kudos to Sam

While the staff was great and the Expedia provided Concierge Johnny was absolutely phenomenal, everything else was a complete and utter disappointment. We had 4 rooms, upon check-in one of the rooms was not ready until after 8pm. Buffet was extremely limited options, sink was clogged, water from shower was seeping into the room, there was a waterbug in the room, the smoke detector was not operable. All the times I have been to Punta Cana and other travels this was the worst resort I have ever stayed at.

La comida del buffet estaba de muy baja calidad, no tenía suficiente variedad. No rellenaban lo poco que tenían. Llegabas al buffet y nadie te recibía, tocaba esperar a que llegaran para que te ubicaran en tu mesa y las empleadas no eran nada de amables. Para el precio tan elevado del Resort se espera que la calidad sea mayor. Dé mi parte no lo recomiendo.

Hello I paid for a Junior Suite with ocean view. The room 3307 I was given was not faced the ocean, but towards another building. I didn’t see the ocean at all. Yet I was charged for a ocean view. I would like to be reimbursed for what I didn’t receive. I spoke to someone at their front desk, and he basically brushed it off stating there are different types of ocean views.

We booked a Diamond Club level room for a very special birthday vacation and our Butler, Johnny made sure the experience was exceptional! We were treated like royalty from the time we booked through expedia to the end of our trip! Our other butler, Billy was equally amazing covering when Johnny was off. All of the staff, from the bellman, Wilkins, to the Chef Montero, were absolutely amazing! Our bar tenders, Ruth, Luz and Brandalisy in Diamond and Christian as the club were the best! Mariela and Freilin pool side waitors and the wait staff at the restaurants, Jonathan, Joselo, Fermin, Diana and a few others I cannot remember at the moment made every meal special for us! Let me not forget the amazing Spa staff that did an amazing job on my braids!! This was one of the best experiences we've had in a while and we are regular travelers! Thank you Royalton Chic!

The room was clean. The staff was wonderful. Johnny Solano was the most amazing host. He made our stay absolutely great. They have 4 pickle ball courts. He got us the equipment to use when everyone else, didn't have a clue as to what we were wanting to play. Not surprising being in another country where it is not a well known sport.
Johnny also scheduled all our reservations for the restaurants and helped with the bell hop for our luggage to be picked up from the room to the lobby for our return trip home.

The hotel didn't really explain the difference between a standard stay and paying for the Diamond club stay. I only caught the pool side cabana on the website.
Which was to be reserved and additional charge and that didn't seem worth the cost and after being there I felt I made the right choice. Pool had plenty of lounges and so did the beach.
All an all wonderful place to stay.

I stayed at Royalton Chic Punta Cana from Dec 25–Jan 4 with my partner, and overall we had a fun, easygoing stay with a few quirks along the way. The resort leans a bit more tired chic than full glam these days, but the service really helped balance things out. Johnny, our butler and highlight of the trip, handled everything from restaurant bookings to sourcing medication with calm, friendly efficiency. Staff across the resort were upbeat, helpful, and kept our room spotless — complete with adorable towel art that honestly had more personality than I did before my morning coffee.

The vibe was relaxed and never too wild. Evening entertainment was fun, and daytime activities (especially the foam parties) were great to watch from a safe, dry distance. The buffet had tons of variety, and the spa was a standout — our couples retreat with champagne, exfoliation, massage, and facial was pure bliss.

Of course, a few quirks: the resort is showing its age, upselling was constant, and our room had some “character” — a dead landline, inconsistent hot water, a broken TV (quickly replaced), and no outlet on one side of the bed, which led to a very creative extension‑cord solution. The hot tubs at both the pool and spa were out of service, and shade/loungers were limited at peak times.

Overall, a good stay with great service and a chilled vibe — just expect a mix of comfort with a few quirks along the way.

Our room had a lot of issues, including our shower head almost falling off and flooding our bathroom. We also didn't have a safety latch on our door so one afternoon two different staff members just walked into our room while we were inside sleeping which was very off putting. The buffet was ok. There was a lot of options but everything that was supposed to be warm/hot was cold. The restaurants were nice and I did like their food more but I did notice that the later your reservation was, the slower the service. Also, a lot of the restaurants were out of food which shouldn't happen considering they aren't that busy. Also, it was extremely hard to get a reservation through the app. We ended up doing them all at once through the conceriege but that isn't given as an option at check in. The people/workers were very nice. The spa was also incredible. If the whole resort was more like the spa then it would be an amazing place to stay. Also, i felt like I was constantly getting random phone calls to my hotel room which was odd since we never requested anything. Also, when we first got into our room it was very obvious that it was not ready for people. We only had two towels, the floor in the whole room was grimy, and our bathroom wasn't stocked with any soaps or anything that you get. This resort is okay, but there is a lack of attention to detail. I had a good time considering all of these things, but I won't be returning and I won't be recommending this place.

I first stayed at CHIC in march 2025 and loved it, that’s why I came back. But this time around, very disappointed! A lot of the staff seems new, needs training. The hotel needs maintenance; had to change room due to really bad smell in the bathroom. Food at restaurants came out cold, and at the Steakhouse, you have to pay for the best steaks, even though we were part of the Diamond Club. Do Not do Diamond, not worth it!
Great service provided by Olvin and Greicy, they go above and beyond to get you what you need.

The hotel is very outdated, public area washrooms were not in working conditions, the showers on beach area exist were not working, guests were stepping in pools to wash the sand off. The pool filled with sand. The a-la-carte restaurant had poor service and the food wasn’t even close to taste of the menu. For example: at Indian restaurant was serving rissotto ! That was basically thick as rice pudding. Very sad! By pool area, i was literally chasing down some service for pool side bar service . I spent my holiday walking to get my own drinks. Considering I paid premium price for Christmas holidays, and considering its an adult’s only, it was mediocre! I absolutely do no recommend this Royalton Chic to anyone. It’s a waste of money. I spent $11,000 for 3 adults, 5 day stay. And was very disappointing hotel. Even I had concierge personal service throughout my stay. My concierge name was Johnny Solano, and did a good job in booking my dinner and spa reservations, and brought me a hot water kettle for my night tea time. Thank you Johnny for your services and care. But Royalton Chic hotel was not an organized or good service hotel.

When we got there we met Johnny, who was our Expedia ambassador, he showed us our room and gave us a quick run down of the resort. Daily Johnny would check up on us and make sure we had dinner reservations every night. Johnny made sure we had lots to do and was always making himself available when we needed something. Johnny even made sure we had sandwiches for the trip home as we had to be at the airport at 3:30am. Johnny made our vacation that much more memorable. I give Johnny 100/10 he was just that great!! The room was old and needed obvious repairs the furniture was old and worn out. The food was terrible! And the staff at the steakhouse were awful! As someone who lives in punta Cana and frequently goes to different resorts in the area this is not one I would recommend or go to ever again! Save your money! I wish I would have listened to all the bad reviews but I guess I learned the hard way!

I had a view of the parking lot, the room was small and dated not liike the other Royalton ive stayed at peeling paint and no elevators luckilyIwason the 2nd floor... breakfast was terrible i usually look forward to the breakfast buffets but this was by far the worst. And that older lady at the omelet station had the worst attitude everyday dam day geesh why! The bar staff at all the bar and restaurants were amazing and so polite no waiting well besides the steak house and the food still came out cold smh! Waiter at the pool were on top of it! Oh yes my room came with a butler thanks expedia greatly appreciated but the butler Johnny was terrible was of no help saw him twice in my 5dys not even to say bye at checkout his loss i tipped well!! I also had spa services which was amazing! My favs MARCO POOL BAR, MANUEL SPORTS BAR AND A FEW OTHER I FORGOT THE NAMES A WEEK LATER SORRY!! OH COFFEE SHOP HAD THE BEST CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICHES EVER LOL!! IT WOULD HAVE TO BE SOMETHING GOING ON THERE FOR ME TO BOOK THAT RESORT AGAIN LIKE SOMEONES BDAY OR WEDDING LOL... Expedia onsite rep Johnny was fantastic. He helped me book dinner reservations every night for our party of 8, as well as any room requests that we had. We had some issues with our room, AC not working properly, ceiling fan not working, no hot water. Kept requesting these services in the Royalton app but they kept responding say king that this service has been completed. Johnny ended up helping us. Washrooms by the pool were out of service for the week that we were there, guests had to go to their rooms to use the bathroom. Pool area flooding all week. No poolside service, no pool concierge to help with chairs and towels, ran out of towels daily, not enough chairs and umbrellas at the pool. Have to go down early to save chairs, 8am is not early enough. I would say that this hotel needs a lot of work. Service was not very good for the Royalton brand. Food was good, beach was nice.

Provided incorrect room on check in. I booked 2 queen beds on the ground floor and was given 1 king. The employees then rolled a cot to the room as a solution which was a horrible looking cot. They told us to come back at 12 the next day for the correct room. The next day we came to the front desk at 12, were then told nothing was available until 5 pm. At this point we were unable to unpack or get comfortable due to uncertainty with our room change. 5pm we were given a super moldy smelling room which should not be provided to guests whatsoever. Another room finally became availble which we had to pack up , someone was supposed to come to get our luggage but never did so we went to the lobby ourselves with luggage. By this point most of our day was trekking to the lobby and possible rooms. We dropped off our luagge to the room with an employee as we had dinner reservations, however then were advised we had to change our key wristband to the new room. As there were 15 people in line to check in the employee at guest services employee said we had to again wait in that line to re program our wristband. We were super frustrated at this point with the lack of compensation and customer service. No one actually wanting to help us or solve the issue that was a hotel issue , not ours. The guest services employee yelled at my mother saying the line was the only option and we had to wait again ( which we did this already upon the orginal check in). The 1st full day ruined by this problem

Many things were unavailable and the all inclusive is a joke. Most everything was not available unless you paid extra. The pressure was on from the moment we got there to buy a vacation package. The original room I received was not good at all. It smelled of mold and mildew and whoever cleaned it did a poor job. The wash clothes were all dirty dingy and the amenities that should have been on the room were not there. No umbrella, which prevented us from going out the first night because it rained. No steamer, robes or air condition. After calling a few times I finally had to walk to the front desk the next morning. Poolside music was horrible, they played music in spanish all day. Buffet food was not good and that and the poolbar food area were the only options unless you had reservations for dinner and good luck with that on the app. I have stayed at a Royalton before and this was 2 1/2 stars compaired to the one I’ve stayed at previously.

Things that could have improved are the overall condition of the property is lacking. In many ways that could easily be fixed at low cost. The drainage when it rained did not work. The spa and gym needs to be completely remodeled. The food overall was 5/10. The buffet needs serious help and there is no regulating lines. The food was very mediocre. The steak house and Italian restaurant was great, the best food at the resort.

My wife and I had a blast overall. Samuel was our butler and when over and beyond what we asked of him. He was Very positive and took care of anything we asked of him immediately. The entertainment was good, the pool foam party was awesome.

Room was just okay, you can tell they made repairs. However not great repairs. show area was dirty, left over hair. The cleaning staff and personal butler was great, Our butler, Johnny was Steller (5 stars) he checked in each morning, responded when I had questions, booked our reservations. He was literally Johnny on the spot. The food was not good at all, no flavor. All of the food including the room service was not good. We looked forward to Taco Bell at the airport and thats saying a lot. Didnt like how everything closed early other than one bar and the nightly rave parties was very loud at 2 am. People were friendly, drinks has basically no alcohol in them. We've stayed in other Royalton's and this one by far was the worst. Would choose brand new next time if we stay at a Royalton.

The resort was great and the service was awesome, except for the excursion man who stole are money and we could get it back , so they only gave only half of it back which was sad that he had to steal from Americans to make his self feel he did something. Staff was absolutely stellar during our stay at the Royalton Chic. Be it the bartenders, the waiters at restaurants or the various other staff, all were very helpful and attentive and led to a fantastic trip.

In particular, our Expedia representative at the Royalton Chic, named Deivid, could not get enough praise for myself or the bachelor party group of 11. From the very moment we checked-in he was very helpful in helping us with a very detailed and well guided tour. For the rest of the stay, he was constantly checking in on us, reaching out to us, and always make sure that all of the wishes and needs of our group were satisfied.

Deivid was absolutely fantastic and personable and a large reason why our bachelor party group of 11 had an absolutely stellar time for the duration of our stay. I could not give him enough praise, and he deserves all the recognition in the world for the stellar job he is doing.

I have stayed at many resorts and this one came in with the worst service. The staff were rude unhelpful. It was hard to get water in our room. There was days when we would go without water for almost 24 hours and no matter who we talk to they made it difficult. The food was horrible. The only thing nice was that the rooms are high-end by the same token there is rooms that are high-end in resorts that have good service and everything.

Room water was running out of hot water, could not take a hot shower for 2 days, remote wasn’t working upon arrival, couldn’t find anything to eat around 5:00, the dining room times and restaurant times were not convenient, the Italian restaurant was nasty, food came out cold, noodles were not done/hard, pool bar was running out of liquor and closing early. However, Johnny, our butler was great! I loved how he checked in on us 24/7. Made sure that we were good, and safe throughout our entire stay. Anytime we needed him, he was there.
Cesar took good care of us as well. He was great!

NO ELEVATORS! The beds are hard, the sheets & pillow cases seem were dingy & have spots. The towels w dingy too. Before we arrived I had emailed ahead & also thought I booked a room with 2 queen beds. Somehow they received a email requesting 1 king bed. My cousin & I traveled together so I definitely did book a room with 2 beds. Also I also I had asked in the same email in which I did received a response that we were both celebrating birthdays could they do anything special they did nothing. When i showed them the email with their responding email, they were nonchalant, but they did finally get us the 2 beds in a room on the 3rd floor & they do not have elevators, after more then an hour the first day. On Thursday it rained all day we asked for umbrellas because we were stuck in the spa area no one ever came to bring them, the lady in the spa reception area was rude. We asked for a towel to put over our heads, because that all we could get from the concierge in our building to get to the spa which the area floods around the resort, so if you are on the first floor you are guaranteed to get water coming in if it rains all day which it did on thursday. On Friday morning we woke up on the 3rd floor, to an ant infestation & when my cousin went to tell them about it, they were very nonchalant, we told several people that we needed to have our room sprayed, our clothes put in a hot dryer on high heat, the ants had gotten n2 the suitcases that were on the table. It got done hrs ltr.

I’ll start with, you get what you pay for. Room is super outdated and has a smell (which is expected since it’s near water, however, SPRAY!). You definitely can tell they don’t have enough people working here because you saw the same people every single day working from morning to nigh (God bless them). Also, get someone to attend the pools with a pool rake, daily! So much nastiness in the pools for it to not be that many people on the property.

We loved Johnny! He was a great help the entire time! Very helpful with dinner reservations and keeping us up to date on activities.

Now the resort itself I would not recommend. Nothing is opened as promised & they constantly run out of food. The room service served us fish sticks instead of chicken tenders because they ran out and did not even have the decency to ask if anyone was allergic. The food overall is 0/10 for this resort. Nothing is nearby & the beach is filled with seaweed.

Another thing, during the day there is nothing going on for resort. & the night life if not all that either.

I recently stayed at this resort and would rate it around a 3. While the property itself had potential, several aspects were disappointing. The entertainment was not enjoyable, and the food quality left a lot to be desired. My room had an unpleasant smell, and many of the common spaces lacked air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable at times.

On a positive note, Michael and Jose, the bartender, stood out with their excellent service, they were the highlight of my stay. Unfortunately, aside from their efforts, the overall experience did not meet my expectations.

The food was subpar for such a pretty environment. It was a challenge to get reservations for dinner, which took away from a good experience. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Kelvin was an awesome concierge who took great care of us. My room was cute but smelled of paint thinner during my stay. The issue was resolved but did not leave a great impression. The front desk never answered the phone and I had to make requests via the app. Housekeeping was wonderful. She left pretty towel art everyday with beautiful flowers. The bars by the pool closed very early for an adults only resort. The drinks at each bar were not consistent and I ended up wasting it because of the watery taste sometimes. The young lady at the Spice Bar made the best drinks with a beautiful smile each and every night. The excessive seaweed on the beach was never cleared so you could not enjoy walking on sand. I walked over to the resort next door so that I could walk on the beach because they cleared it every day for their guests.

I would not recommend you stay here!

Do not stay here! It does not represent the Marriott brand. They try to sell you timeshares. Someone is constantly stopping you to purchase something! And, if your purchase says you will get credits, it's a joke. I contacted them ahead of my arrival and at check in to get information on what the credits could be used for, they would not provide the information until the following day after I checked in, and it was a coupon book. After I was told I could use it, it wasn't accepted, but they gave it to me. The hotel is outdated. The only good and positive aspects of this resort are the spa, which costs an additional fee and is located towards the back of the property. I would not recommend this place to anyone. And, the Butler service is not what you expect either. You can contact the first desk to get the same service. Check-in was also problematic, so please have your documentation. And, yes, I voiced all my concerns and dput them in writing but nothing was done!

While at the property, the fire alarm kept going off. A couple of times in the wee hours of the night and during the day. Once the staff know that you don't want to sit through a time share meeting, they start to treat you different and stop being helpful. Food was the same at the buffet daily. The thread wrist band they give you once you check in that is your room key started irritating my skin and they didn't have another option for a wrist band. I had to put the key piece around a necklace so I can still have access to my room.

I did not enjoy my stay at Royalton Chic Punta Cana and would not recommend it. Our room smelled like mold the entire trip, even after cleaning. We paid for the Diamond Club upgrade, but service was terrible—our “butler” never checked on us and the premium liquor was clearly watered down. Drinks and juices tasted fake. The food was the worst part: nothing was fresh, meals were always lukewarm, and my friend got food poisoning by day two. I lived off cheeseburgers because they were the only thing edible. The sushi restaurant was closed (probably for the best), the steakhouse served the cheapest cuts with no seasoning, and the Diamond Club beach grill was a shack with items never available. It’s advertised as variety, but you eat the same things daily.
The beach was unusable, completely covered in seaweed, and three of our five days were rainy and cloudy. Not their fault, but with no activities, the resort felt boring and trapped. The power went out in our room twice too. Overall, despite paying for Diamond Club, this felt like a complete scam. Dirty rooms, bad food, watered-down drinks, no beach, no service, and nothing to do made this the worst trip I’ve taken. I honestly could not wait to get back to the States—this was the first vacation where I wanted to go home before it was even over.

*** LONG REVIEW *** PLEASE READ!!

I am going to be very honest, do not stay at this resort. The food is terrible, and all of the restaurants do not open up everyday. The pool which is imoirtant at a resort is also closed at 6pm everyday. The alcohol does not rate like the alcohol from home because the alcohol percentage is 35%, while the USA is 40%.

Checking in was very smooth, I was walked around the property to be shown everything I needed. The hiccup came when my room was not the room that Expedia advertised. Yes, that’s not the hotels fault but I still felt like I should have been acclimated for what I thought I booked.

My friends room: They were locked out for 1hr and we end up missing an important event. My other friends room lights went out every night; with no explanation.

My room was the only room to have slippers and robes. Their rooms did not have anything of the sort.

Restaurants: Italian was the best we had maybe a 6/10. Lasagne was soup and the Margarita pizza was just cheese with a slice of tomato.

The steakhouse made me want to cry, steaks were not at the right temperatures, “mash potatoes” were just boiled and mashed, no salt, butter, cream nothing! The best thing there were the onion rings 2/10

We couldn’t go to the Indian restaurant because it was closed on certain days.

Beware that the beaches here have ALOT of seaweed and it smells horrible!!! We tried walking along the shoreline and I literally almost passed out.
