The Location is great a number of different metro lines all in the area, not far from the Barcelona Arena. The area is quiet for Barcelona as well. Great Wine Bar on the backside street.

Very roomy apartment with 2 rooms, air conditioning was working well which is a must in August in Barcelona! Shame they do not have a reception with human to greet you however check in was easy and they have 4 lockers which you can use after or before the check-in/out.
Location is great, The arenas shopping mall is only 20 minutes walk away. There is a little supermarket in front of the building which sells basic things.
Apartment has a washer/dryer which worked brilliantly. Kitchen had everything you need for a short stay needs. They supplied small box of washing up liquid, scourer, bin bags which helped.
Bed was very comfy, although towels all had musty smell which was the only downside.

The First of Many Stays Here

This was my first stay at MH apartments, but it will be the first of many. Comfortable bed, spacious living room, strong internet, and fully equipped kitchen. Easy check-in and good communication by email made my stay exceptional. All for an excellent rate. The location was perfect, not too touristy, close to plaza d'espana and lots of shops and cafes patronized by the locals!

Mixed feelings about this place due to having had huge issues at check-in.

I got there after midnight and found out my booking has been wrongly recorded as starting from the following day - though I had been charged and also had the email confirmation with the correct dates. It took hours of being on the phone with both Expedia (who couldn't manage to find an alternative location) and the owner of the apartment who around 3:30am provided and alternative apartment for the night. Really not the best way to start my long weekend in Barcelona. If I had the opportunity, I would have cancelled in a heartbeat as spending most of the night on the streets of Barcelona is not an experience I wanted to have!

Outside this, MH apartments urban are a good choice for a break. Do make sure the booking is confirmed and confirmed and confirmed before getting there!

Safe, comfortable and had all the facilities you needed for a home from home experience. Within easy reach of metro and bus and only a 30 minute walk to most of the local tourist sights. Only one snag, the water was only warm and there was no plug in the kitchen sink which made washing tricky!

Best place ever I had stayed in visiting Europe. Building is newly constructed for visitors. Well furnished and comfortable. Good location to many transit/subway lines. Would definite stay here again. You just need your name to check in, first by ringing the door bell to get into the lobby. Once you enter the lobby after being verified, you will use the machine to complete the registration and obtain your card key. I would not recommend eating around here for paella, but go to Barceloneta for better paella dinner. Bon Marisque is highly recommended and very reasonable.

We loved this place. It was close to the downtown area. We used the “bird” scooters on the daily to get by with transportation. It was very helpful. The check in process was easy and fast. The room was big and clean. The building is secured by a swipe in card. We highly recommend this place, the bed was very comfortable compared to our hotels we stayed at around Europe

Location, location!

Excellent location! There were some minor maintenance issues but, once reported, they were taken care of quickly. I id continue to have a problem with water coming out of the shower onto the floor all throughout my stay. Had to constantly lay out towels on the floor and dry them after.

My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights. Property is very closed to metro, mall, and restaurants. Location is very convenient, can easily walk to many tourist attractions within 10-15 minutes. Area is safe and quiet. Checkin and checkout is easy and very convenient. You get the code for the front lobby by contacting the property. There's nobody there to check you in. Checkin is on a machine in the lobby. You enter your information and your room and keys will be dispersed from the machine. Checkout is fast, just put the keys into the box in the lobby.

Of the three nights we have here, there was hot water supply only in the first night and during the daytime. We had no hot water in the second and third night. The water was just marginally warm, if not cold.

A technician investigated in the morning of the second day and found no issue at all. We were also able to use it in that morning, but in the evening we weren’t able to.

We have asked for a staff member to follow up but she insisted nothing was wrong. Not very helpful at all.

Clean apartment and well equipped, it was easy to check in and 24 hours customer service, the location is quite good with 20 minutes walk to plaza de catlounya and la rambles street where the heart of barcelona is, 6 minutes walk to plaza espanya where the public transportation stations, airport bus stop and barcelona sightseeing bus stop, tge neighborhood is good and there is supermarket and pharmacy down the building
The place is recommended for a group of 4 whether it will be expensive

The tap in the bathroom had extremely low water flow. kitchen & shower had good flow. Downside is the noise from the street from traffic, not so bad when the windows are closed.

Self check-in was painful, since the computer was not working properly.
There are not instructions for the safe, and other equipment in the apartment, it might seems obvious, but isn't. There is no 110V outlets.
Since there is no phone, you have to communicate thru WhatsApp, they are very responsive thru the app. Apartment has a good layout and an excellent location.

Keep an eye on your cleaning staff for a 5 star

The place is good, just needs to stay on top of the cleanliness part. I would keep a close eye on the cleaning lady. My sheets were stained and seemed dirty, I requested new ones and I was told the cleaning lady had gone by to check up on it but it was not true, but the consierge then offered to bring some and made it right. 👍

Quiet area, cozy room. Many restaurants & supermarket nearby. But, you need to contact hotel before arrival to get the access code in order to enter the building. The automatic check-in machine was fail at the payment step of using international credit card (need to input password). The carpet and floor was very dirty. It seem that the staff didn't have enough time to do the cleaning.

Fabulous location within walking distance of las ramblas, art museum, marina and aquarium (average about 25mins). We were there for a concert at Palau Sant Jordi which is next to the Olympic stadium, again within walking distance. The apartment was only 6.5 miles from the main airport and a bus (No 46 -runs regularly) picks you up from outside airport and drops you off only a few minutes walk from the apartment... 2 Euros 20 each way...bargain, takes about 30-45 mins depending on traffic. Apartment has warm and had all mod cons, bed was comfy and bathroom was lovely with hair dryer and complimentary toiletries. The TV has only Spanish channels but I’d brought my fire stick to try out which worked a treat. If you are out and about mooching this shouldn’t be an issue, I was there for 9 nights and had a couple of chill days. The check in process is all automated which is a little lengthy but relatively straightforward. My only complaint and a minor one is that the fridge had a horrible smell ...probably only due to the door being closed when there was no one in and the electricity was off...a simple complaint to rectify. I would definitely recommend and stay again

Affordable Place to Stay with Family

Location is excellent. There are bus stops and subway stations everywhere in Barcelona so all you need is Google maps to tell you where you need to go. We slept with a window slightly open to allow the air to cool the room and we're ok with the noise level from the street. The place is 10 minutes from all major tourist attractions so is nice and quiet at night. The area is full of markets and restaurants so is very easy to buy food.
The bed is livable at best, could use a better mattress. Definitely not a 5 star hotel, but for the price and convince we would come back to this place.

Great apartment, clean, modern, comfortable, plenty of household appliances, and best of all well situated from most attractions. Handy to rail, metro, buses .bus tor airport is 5 mins up the road at the Plaza Espan. (20 mins to Charles de Gaulle).
Quite even though in a busy area. Loved the park that catered for children in the green area down the middle of closed to traffic street. Lots of food places to eat and buy supplies in the area.
We had read the reviews on getting into the apartment and contacted the management (email) to receive the acess code. We feel this should be made known when you book this apartment!!!! When you then acess it you have to self check in which cold be a little confusing for some. On the whole a excellent apartment 5 star from us. ( a retired couple.)

A very compact clean 1 bedroom apartment

Overall ok as it had what we wanted for a family of 4 for 3 days. The bedding description however was misleading as it specified 2 twin beds + 1 sofa bed whereas it was actually 2 single beds (side by side) + 1 sofa bed.

We also had to pay city tax per person per night during check-in (the booking confirmation was a bit confusing as it said we had to pay taxes at the apartment, but then all taxes were included)!!!

The bathroom sliding door was keep jamming when fully shut. This also be a serious Hazard as someone may get trapped in the bathroom.

We were very pleased with our apartment. It looks recently refurbished and modern but more importantly spotlessly clean. The bedroom was quite small but had excellent storage.The sitting area was very comfortable and kitchen area compact but more than adequate. All in all perfect for our 3 night stay.

A spacious clean apartment in a fairly quiet road

A lovely clean, spacious apartment.
It's good to know this is a self check in hotel. We didn't know and found tricky to get in. After that we managed the self check in machine. The apartment has everything you need.
If you rely on Internet, travelling with your kids and they like to watch something on the TV at the end of the day, it might be good to make your own arrangements as they are not reliable.
The hotel is located well for airport and day tours.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice Apartment, POOR WiFi

The overall apartment was clean, spacious and modern. All four of us were comfortable. The beds were comfortable, there were lots of towels left for us and the kitchen was well stocked. However, the bathroom shower was very small and water kept coming out on the bathroom floor, the WiFi was extremely POOR. The curtains were falling off the rods but management quickly sent someone over to fix them. Location was good because it was walking distance to train, a main attraction and the markets and local shopping to the right when leaving the apartment. you can also walk it on a not rainy day to Las Ramblas (huge shopping district). We did find a bug in the bed which was disappointing and alerted the management. Not sure what kind of bug it was although I took a picture of it and videotaped the critter. We were also disappointed that management did not inform us of the checking process prior to arriving. There is no reception and we were standing at the entrance with out suitcases unable to enter. Thank God for the lady in the store next door. (Btw you must visit her store). She had to call managment on the phone for us to help us figure out how to get in and check in via the computer. Not a welcoming experience. Would I stay there again...not sure, but it was not a bad experience overall.

convenient only for big families

I didn't expect this kind of reception (no reception hall and just a machine). I had problems to enter coz door was closed and seems you need a code to enter but the code was not in the hotels.com receipt!! lucky another client appeared ad opened the door.
not so smooth the chekin with a machine!?
the corridors of the building are very dirty, luckily the rooms are ok.
wifi was the worst ever experienced and even if strong signal and appear as connected, it was not working at all.... I was on 5th floor and my colleague on the 2th floor said it was ok so maybe it depends on the modem but, 4 days without internet, when you have to work, it is unacceptable!!

Nice building, but...

I wish i could fully recommend this place as it has so much going for it- modern, well-appointed, clean, and in a great location. The only thing is the WIFI is so bad you simply can't count on using it. I have been in 3 units in the building and though connectivity is a bit better on lower floors, it is intermittent at best in the building. What a shame. There is no staff in the building but the \"lobby\" phone gets them quickly. Sadly, there is little they, nor the tech guy they send over, can do.

The room was almost 600sq ft, so you can't complain. The metro station is an easy 5 min walk away. Make sure you contact the management in advance through email to get your security code to get inside the building. After you get inside, you can check in using a machine that week dispenser your room cards.

The only issue we had was dealing with an automated check in system. There were no staff at all at the property only a machine resembling an ATM that allowed you to check in. As such if you arrive early you have few options if the few lockers available on site are already in use.

There were some very good things about the MH Urban Apartments and some not so good things. First of all it was very clean.. thank you so much. It even had an arrival pack of soaps and other miscellaneous items. There was a washing maching, a microwave a coffee pot and some other items that was nice. It was clean and heaven knows in Europe you may end up with filthy... so this was fantastic! OK now the not so good,,,, The bed in bedroom was actually two small twin beds ppushed together, the beds would slide easily on floor. The bathroom was extremely small. The washing machine was jammed into the toilet. The shower was so small. However water pressure was great. The worse thing was... I booked knowing there would be satellite TV.. With satallite TV I figured there would be English programs. Well YES there was satellite, but practically every channel was blocked. No CNN, No TNT, No Fox, No Comedy... It did have CNBC (boring business news).. They had Al Jazira and other stations. Price was good. Nice place if you only use it to sleep and run, but if you plan on relaxing \"at home\", it's not the place to stay.

Me and my fiancé stayed at MH Urban Apartments just 1 week ago. When we had first arrived we had difficulties with the check in. But when I them they helped me step by step. The apartment itself is clean with everything you need. We were missing an iron but we called and one of the maids brought it to us. The are is nice and quaint. everyone pleasant and with a small restaurant across from the building and a little wine bar around the corner. I would definitely return

Here are excerpts of what I wrote to MH Urban Apartments following our stay:
When we arrived to check in we had no information on how to access the building nor was there any information outside the building that might assist us in gaining entry. Once we gained entry with the help of another guest, the check in kiosk would not recognize our information. If you a are booking this hotel, FYI, the phone next to the kiosk dials the hotels customer service.

Once checked in, we entered our apartment, after the hotels.com indicated check in time (provided by email reminder) only to find it had not been fully cleaned. The cleaning staff (in the apartment at the time, hurriedly finished up over a 20 minute time period). Deep cleaning had clearly hot happened for a long time and the place was a bit run down.

Wifi was down for our first day and a half.

On our first night as we opened the fridge to place groceries in it, we were met with a strong foul fish odor. Clearly someone had stored fish in the fridge and it had not been sufficiently cleaned after this occurrence.

In summary, concept is great, as is the location of the hotel, but execution leaves much to be desired. We also found customer service rather inhospitable when we tried to call and address some of these issues with them.

Overall good stay for apartment living. The location at Espanya metro is very convenient to all the sight see spots. The neighborhood is safe and accessible to almost everywhere a tourist will go, lots supermarkets and eateries around.
The check in is more cumbersome cos through ATM machines and you have to have a PIN number otherwise you can't do payment. You have to telephone the concierge to check in and depending who is on the line some more helpful than rest.
Housekeeping is once a week although you provided with washing machine and dryer but instructions all in Spanish!!?
Full kitchen to cook and enough beds for everyone .

Truly excellent for the self-sufficient traveler

I was in Barcelona for a conference, and MH Urban was about a kilometer away from the venue. For me, on this trip, a one bedroom apartment w/o front desk was perfect and I couldn't ask for more. Yes there were one or two mechanical things broken (a closet door hinge, the bottom track of the shower doors) but everything was scrupulously clean and very convenient. Staff was very helpful and patient when reached by phone, and the automated check-in system is genius. However do make sure you receive/read the instructions for how to proceed when you arrive. I didn't, and it can be a bit jarring when you arrive in front of a locked building without knowing what you were told to do ahead of time.

Excellent location, 3 metro stations, within 5 minutes walk. Plenty of food shops within 100 yards, and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Not the quietest location due to rubbish collection every morning. The apartment was well equiped, clean, enough towels, shampoo, etc. If in Barcelona would definetly stay hereagain. Just remember to get entry code before you leave home, then it is easy.

We stayed for 3 nights, nice place, a little out of town but close to tube stops. The shower door was broken, but the place was in good condition overall. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels and lots of cooking equipment.

The apartment was nice, clean, and comfortable. Wifi was available, but we found we were not able to connect to it. Hot water boiler had to be fixed one morning, but maintenance fixed within an hour. Be absolutely sure to contact apartment before arriving to obtain code. Note, key was disabled morning of check-out and our luggage was still in the room (~10am). It took 30 minutes to let us in and we were quite stressed that we were going to miss our flight.

Pleasant stay

I must say that staying at this property was great! Being 4,000 miles away from home, it provided all the comforts of home. The location was perfect (close to city center & metro) was a little noisy, which is to be expected in a city center area. I wasn't a big fan of the automatic check-in machine. I did have problems checking in, which resulted in me having to call them. Aside from that,I had a minor issue with the lock on our original unit, but they were able to move us to a more accommodating unit. Lastly, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO CALL THEM BEFORE ARRIVING, SO YOU CAN GET THE GATE CODE TO GET INSIDE!I would stay here again easily.

Affordable and pleasant stay

As long as you're prepared, ie. you make contact ahead of your stay to obtain the code to get into the building, everything else about checking in and getting your room key is easy.

The apartments are great, well maintained, modern and clean. The location is also ideal for the underground and tourist attractions too.

Plus, it's really well priced compared to other hotels.

Great apartment for exploring barcelona on foot

I was surprised by the lack of a reception desk, however check in was done at a machine in the lobby, and there was a helpline number for any questions which in fact worked very well. The apartment was an ideal size for a couple and very well appointed. The location was excellent for the palace and other attractions at Mont Juic, and about a 30 minute walk from the marina. I would certainly stay here again.

Great place for shopping at the local Arena

Its a great place to stay and will definitely be using more MH Apartments but the only problems I had was to do with the WIFI, bathroom sliding door not opening or closing properly and as we checked in after 2.30pm, the beds were still to be done by the staff but overall, fantastic place for self catering.

You need to call the hotel reception from your mobile as the property is not manned to get the access code to the building, we arrived in Barcelona at 11am but check in is 2pm, there are lockers to leave your luggage but only 4, the door to the apartment is difficult to open!

Clean, new apartments on pedestrian street

We were quite happy with our stay in these apartments. The price was similar to other apartments we looked at but without the pricey cleaning fee or having to meet a person to let us in. It was also cheaper than staying in a hotel for our family. We were prepared after reading other reviews for the check-in process of needing to call the hotel manager to get the passcode to enter the building, which was a bit of a pain if you have a foreign phone that charges a lot to call from abroad; however it seemed to work OK (would work better if they could have mailed us a code ahead of time by email). Once this checkin process was done, everything was great. The apartment was very clean, new, tastefully decorated. Our family of 4 was comfortable in the apartment and able to prepare some meals in the kitchen. It was conveniently located close to several metro stops to whisk you off to tourist sites or you could walk to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas in about 20-30 minutes, which we did several times. The neighborhood itself was very nice, on a pedestrian street with a few nice tapa places and restaurants nearby (cheaper than in the tourist areas). If you do not have too much time in Barcelona and you want to be in the heart of all the action, it might be better to try to find a place a little closer to the Gothic quarter, but we found this location to be quite acceptable

Nice apartment once you manage to check in!

We stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in June. The apartment itself is spacious for two people and has all the facilities that you would need. Like equipped kitchen and even safe. I also liked the lockers it has on the ground floor. The only negatives is the very weak wifi signal, which was disappointing in this day and age and also the self service checkin system, which was too slow. Apart from that it was perfect for us, and will be checking in again!

Great place

A lovely place to stay to see barcelona and better value then any hotel around. The only issue was the drainage in the shower, a great shower but too much water blocked the plug. The area was great and the kitchen had everything we could need.

Very disappointed with door entry system and no staff on site. Booking in is carried out with a computer screen inside the building in the lobby. Very difficult to gain access to lobby to book in. We were lucky as two helpful Australians staying there came to our assistance

No Front Desk & No One On Site

These accommodations are just what they claim to be -- apartments. First the negative. If you don't have the code to enter the building -- and we didn't -- you will have to wait for someone either entering or exiting the building to let you in. Once inside, you will have to use an ATM-like machine to get your keys. Even though the room was prepaid, you will need to pay the tax on the room using a credit card which you better know your ATM code to use. If you need assistance, you will need to use the phone located next to the machine where you will reach the incredibly rude apartment manager. The wireless internet connection is spotty at best. The instructions for the almost useless washer/dryer (you can only do a very small load of laundry at a time) are very tough to understand. As for the upside, you can cook and eat in the apartment and there are separate bedrooms. The metro lines are not all that far, and the neighborhood is quaint and relatively safe. The room was clean and comfortable. In spite of everything, I would actually consider staying here again as long as the price was right.

Stay in a hotel instead

3 night stay nearly 400 euros and they don't clean the room, the shower was cold the first night, the bed is too hard and two of the tiniest singles pushed together and no where to leave your luggage on the last day if you miss out on one of the lockers. It's not centrally located to anything. no one actually on site so you have to keep making phone calls if you need something (they don't provide a phone, that's on you). For the price and facilities, you are better off in a hotel, unless you are desperate to cook for yourself.

not the beat choice...but Carlos tried

The apartment was diffucult to get into . The automatic checkin was not very seamless but eventually Carlos got us in . The apartment was freezing cold and we could not turn up the thermostat to any satisfaction. The unit was sufficiently large and quite comfortable,but we had too many issues to say i could recommend this apartment or that i would stay here again.

La prima a Barcellona

Ottima struttura si vede che appena Messa a nuovo, il 62 è un gran bel appartamento (circa 40 MT) dotato di ogni confort. Zona tranquillissima, metro vicina, locali vicini, tutto molto bene. Importante segnalare una stanza all'ingresso (looker) per deposito bagagli sia in anticipo che in partenza!
