Area has a bit of a gritty feel but never felt unsafe. Hotel Staff was very pleasant and housekeeping kept room immaculate and beautifully attended. I enjoy a good view whenever possible but was told choices were either noisy street or light well. I opted for latter, which was dreary, though quiet. Breakfast was plentiful with attractive but not outstanding selections. Provided a decent “grab and go” breakfast snack due to early departure.

Definitely recommend!

Very comfortable and welcoming hotel. Checking was a breeze. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Only 200 meters from the Rocafort metro station (red line), 15 minutes walk from the old city. Lots of restaurants around.

Great but..

Rooms are not bad size and clean and housekeeping do good job. Coffee in room is great (most hotels i stay in it is terrible). Breakfast is very nice with good selection.
Reception staff pleasant, politie and professional.
Only complaint, getting in and out of the bath little difficult unless you are flexible, and worst thing is noise from other neighbouring rooms bathrooms that can be heard in room. Very uncomfortable.

Stayed in May of 2024 for 4 nights and weather was hot during the day and cool at night. The room was uncomfortably hot and humid forcing us to open the window to sleep. Between garbage bins right below our window being picked up at all hours, motorcycles, and people literally screaming all night we got no sleep.

NO A/C. I complained to front desk and only solution was \"I'm sorry, the a/c not available.\" Obviously a canned reply. This is a management problem. Before booking, ask when the a/c will be turned on.

Breakfast was ok if you don't mind waiting while the host likes chatting with everyone while you are standing waiting to sit at numerous empty tables.

During my visit to Barcelona, I was in a terrible car accident on the highway. I was a passenger in a car that was hit by a semi truck. I did not want to stay in a hospital because I find that environment. Very depressing. Instead, I asked the hotel and my friends to help me until I could leave and go home. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for the help that they gave me. I’ve stayed here many times and I will definitely stay again after this experience. My body is severely injured and I’m going to get some treatment in my home country now. But thank you Leonardo hotel for all you did for me during my stay it was part of what I needed to get through this. Thanks again.

We arrived on an early flight into Barca and they allowed us to check in early which we were very grateful for - very helpful staff and clean, modern hotel in a quiet part of town but not too far away from the centre of things. One very embarrassing situation we had in the hotel was the breakfast host (LGBT guy).

Me and my wife went to breakfast and the LGBT host start asking us where are we from in the middle of the breakfast hall.
We politely told him we have European descent, but we live in USA.
The guy didn’t stop questioning us until we told him while we were staying in the middle of the hall.
The LGBT guy made some funny faces in the middle of the hall and all people start staring at us.

Very uncomfortable and unprofessional.

I’ve always tried to be respectful to LGBTs , but that guy kinda overstepped in our personal space.

Train your staff better please !!!
Otherwise, someone else might be NOT so tolerant and beat him up.

every time they did the cleaning they d forget something. one day towel, the next toilet paper, eacj time i had to call and ask for it. some days they d forget to clean. i asked for an iron and they said i d have to go down and get it. not ok.

Decent hotel, good location for the price

Stayed end of Feb, hotel is located close proximity to Bull Ring Arena, MNAC about 10-15min walk. Metro about 5-10 mins. It is just oneblock from main road Gran Via del les Corts Catalanes. If you like walking you can actually walk to Playa de Catalunya and la Rambla, which is 20 mins along main road.
You can find nice food places close to hotel either on main road or on the roads around the hotel. Felt safe enough to walk in the evening back to hotel, although we didnt stay out later than 11pm.
Didnt eat at hotel, i asked the person behind bar /server one evening if he had a menu and was told they do only sandwich, fries and something else (slight language barrier) he recommended a pizza place opp Hotel.
At checkin we were also recommended this place.
I found staff simply unhelpful and just abrupt, short quick responses and nothing else. Not friendly at all or smiling.

Definitely say the walls are thin, can hear doors opening closing. You can hear showers/taps. But it was not that bad, we stayed out all day and still managed to get decent sleep. Housekeeping starts around 8.30am, well it did on our floor (3) so you can hear them in corridor.
Rooms were warm, given the cold season even with the fan/heating off.
Not much street/traffic noise given location is on a street corner-maybe due to being off the main road. But our room was also at back of property (so got a wall view)

Decent 3-star hotel and very good location

Hotel is nice for 3-star rating. No room service by the way. Location is very convenient with lots of restaurants and other amenities nearby. Metro station a walkable distance. Las Arenas mall is about 13 mins walk.

Cons: The temperature setting is controlled by the hotel and was too warm for me. I could cool down the room by opening the window but due to noise had to keep it closed at night. Couldn’t sleep well due to this heat plus street noise even with window closed. The cleaning staff start their work very early around 6am and create a lot of noise (talking, moving chairs around etc).

The room was very Spacious end super clean, bed very very confy and all the staff very friendly and helpful. its very close to the metro 4 min walk to Rocafort station and about 10 min from Espanya.
My only criticism is that we visited in January, weather was cold and the room was extremely hot!! they could not change the temperature as it was central, but They did provide us with a small fan and that helped a bit, but we still had to open the window and having that in mind it was quite noisy. For us was no problem as we are not bothered.

Overall, a good experience.

Overall, this hotel was fine. Located just 2 blocks from the Rocafort Metro station made it VERY convenient. Neighborhood felt safe at all hours; even my wife felt safe walking at night. Plenty of small markets & restaurants nearby, but also very easy to get to city hotspots with a 20 minute Metro ride. About 40 minute Metro ride to airport. (Download Barcelona Metro APP, it's very helpful!) \"Double\" bed is similar to a U.S. queen, unfortunately it was hard & not very comfy with an indentation in the middle that pitches two ppl toward the center. Pillows were comfy tho. Bathroom & room were clean but floor was not esp clean. Fridge in the room was handy; our safe did not work. Bustling area during the day but quiets down around 8pm & windows (at least on 6th floor) had good soundproofing. Make sure ur window is shut tight & locked with the handle turned to the upwards position... 1st night ours was not locked & it slowly fell open over several hours (they open at the top), which completely negated the soundproofing! Wifi worked well but I would not recommend adding the breakfast to your reservation, it's not worth the 10 Euros/pp we paid. The quality of many of the cooked items was below par (esp the eggs & spanish tortilla), there were fruit flies around the fruit, charcuterie was good, baked items were fine but there are bakeries nearby where you can get better quality for less money. In general, what was offered for breakfast did not match their sales photos.

Central to all of Barcelona

Great location for walking to most of the major sites if you like walking like we do. Easy access to bus which we took to and from airport( Aerobus : $5.90 euros each person, each way). The rooms were clean and cozy. There was good shopping and dining options close by. Staff was very helpful and spoke English. Allowed early checkin with no problem.

Excellent guest service. We arrived from Miami around 9 am and had to make 3 flight stops previously; therefore, we were exhausted when we got to the hotel. Sarah the lady at the reception was very understanding and let us check in at that time. This is something that we very much appreciated. Room very clean and spacios. Unfortunately, we only stayed for one night as we had previously made a reservation with other hotel but had to change my flight tickets and travel earlier than planned due to hirricane Dorian. Breakfast very good and service excellent!

Located in a residential area near Plaza España, Leonardo Hotel Gran Vía is a quiet oasis in this hectic city. The metro is near, and there are several bus stops that make travel around the city convenient. The rooms were well appointed, comfortable with excellent bedding. The bathroom was modern, well appointed, and stocked with lovely towels. I was surprised by the lack of noise from traffic and outside. Near the hotel one finds lots of places to grab a meal or coffee. Finally, the staff was very attentive, polite, and helpful. The price-range was excellent given the costs of Barcelona. I will return and recommend this hotel.

Construction right in front of the hotel for the full week we were there.
Location is not great for tourism.
Staff was great at first impression but after 1 complaint they were hostile.
Room wasnt clean at all, very dirty.
The sink was blocked everyday.
I dont recommend this hotel if you are staying in Barcelona.
No refund was possible…. wonder why !?

The hotel was nice but to enable us to get two rooms together we were put on the first floor and we all woke up each morning really stuffed up as if there was a problem with the ventilation. As we went out and about during the day the stuffiness disappeared but was there again in the morning. It was also very dark and depressing going into these rooms. Everything else about the hotel was fine, the beds were comfy and there was a good selection at breakfast. Just don't take rooms on the first floor.

Breakfast room was very small and we were sitting on top of each other, too close tables and chairs , I could not sit properly coz of the very reduced space between tables and chairs.

Very cold coffee, the supplied us with what they called \"hot milk\" to warm up the coffee but my bath was hotter that that milk. Also only 1 coffee machine available for so many people so waiting times were very long. The rest of the \"hot\" food was also cold.

All staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a technical problem with our room safe and staff responded right away. The rooms are well-appointed, quite clean, and very comfortable. The hotel is in a beautiful neighborhood just a couple blocks from Rocafort Metro stop, so it was very convenient for visiting all the main tourist destinations. I would definitely stay again.

Hotel was well located with several bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all budget. Metro was close by which was also handy and the weather was great meaning the 20 minutes walk to the Rambla didn’t seem too bad. Nice welcome and smart rooms but only complaint was the initial smell from drain and some noise outside which I guess goes with the territory. Have stayed at this hotel numerous times due to the great location and good standard of rooms. Within walking distance of the main centre, the hotel is located far enough away to avoid the main tourist area but close enough to access it. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the bed was huge. Very professional and helpful staff at the reception. Great restaurants and shops close by and convenient for the aerobús to/from the airport. Tube station also close by. A great base to explore Barcelona without being in the main tourist area.
