We enjoyed your stay at Kompas. They upgraded us to a beautiful suite, and we lived the high life for two days. It's very walkable, with plenty of restaurant and bars within walking distance, as well as the beach and the seaside promenade trail. The breakfast/dining area could benefit from a bit of a makeover to make a little more quaint and less cafeteria-style. Coffee in the morning is also a bit light, and not very hot. They could benefit from having those hightech self-serve espresso/cappuccino machines. Apart from this, we highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is amazing. Everything feels brand new and in an unbelievable location of Lapad. Tons of dining options and if you never want to leave the hotel that is no problem as it feels like a resort. Restaurant downstairs was great and the service here is incredible. 12/10, would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely relaxing 2 nights at Hotel Kompas in Lapad. It was a nice way to break up the busyness of Old town. We relaxed by the pool and really loved the beautiful breakfast spread. Our room was spacious, quiet, and had plenty of thoughtful touches like afternoon chocolates delivered by housekeeping. The lounge area was nice with good service. We really enjoyed our stay. For two sisters traveling there wasn’t a ton for us to do in Lapad. It looked great for couples and very small and safe for families.

Superb views of the beach. Last time I was in Dubrovnik, I stayed in a different hotel but moving forward, I will be staying at Hotel Kompas. Such great amenities, clean rooms, friendly staff, and very walkable to the restaurants and beaches.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Kompas

We were so pleased with our stay at Hotel Kompas! Even though we were just there for a night before our flight, we were able to take advantage of wonderful amenities, including the beachfront restaurant, access to the beach, and wonderful comfort in the hotel room. This is a wonderful hotel tucked away from the busy areas of Dubrovnik. The entire staff was welcoming and accommodating with any questions that we had. If you are considering food options, the breakfast was good but we did opt to go off property for dinner as the buffet was not as good as for breakfast.

Beautiful Hotel in Lapad

Absolutely beautiful property from the moment you walk in. Everything is bright, airy and relaxing. Loved the location as well - an easy 15 minute taxi or Uber from Old Town but far from the throng of tourists. The hotel is also right by a promenade and a beautiful walkway along the coast of Lapad. Highly recommend overall.

Hotel Kompas is a beautiful property right by the Lapad Bay beachfront and a very pretty promenade along the water. Even though our days were busy touring and visiting sites, our family looked forward to coming back and relaxing by the beach (it’s a pebble beach so need swim shoes), using the indoor pool and sauna. The hotel itself is very nice with a nice lobby that had the perfect view of the sunset. Our rooms were also nice except that both our 2 “deluxe double room, balcony, sea view” rooms (rms 1010 and 1011) had tall trees obstructing our sea view. Please see photos including how these rooms are described online. I did bring up with front desk and staff, as I was confused with the obstructed views but, yup, they did confirm I had “deluxe” rooms and that was that. Otherwise, very happy with hotel, amenities, included breakfast and staff friendliness. Btw, it’s not as near to Old Town as I thought, we were a family of 5 and Uber made sense, but we loved it anyway. There are several restaurant choices along the promenade, which is very pretty.

What a pleasant surprise.

Lovely hotel with good atmosphere, apart from restaurant, which was a bit stark inside and out, so didnt eat there. Plenty of choices for dining. Walk along cliff path to Levantan restaurant for great dinner hanging over the sea. Croatia in general a great surprise.

Good hotel with friendly helpful staff. Lovely room with comfortable bed. Buffet breakfast fine and dinner menu tasty. Downsides… room service only made the bed. Used glasses put back dirty and no cleaning. Thumping music in the distance from the nearby beach bar doesn’t make for the most relaxing poolside experience. Not the fault of the hotel of course.

The Hotel Kompas exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms were spacious, beautifully appointed and felt fresh and new. Our balcony looked out over the sea, which was lovely to wake up to every morning. Lapad is a little outside of the Old City, which was very nice because it felt less hectic after doing a full day of tours around the walls and in the city center. The pool at the hotel was great and the breakfast every morning was delicious and full of great options! This was an excellent choice for our weekend trip to Dubrovnik.

The hotel was in an amazing spot, near a busy promenade, so easily accessible. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the views from the hotel were stunning and the evening sunsets to die for. We were pretty much at the end of the season, so regardless of some things not being open, it was a wonderful break.

Nice hotel, nice and brightwith very pleasant staff particularly in the dining room and the female receptionists.
Food was good especially the Rack of Lamb. Lots of restaurants and bars very close by and easy to get the local bus into old town. The stroll along the coastline was beautiful and very easy.

Beautiful property with views over the bay. Lovely modern and clean hotel. The smell when you enter the property is amazing and the hotel design is bright and airy. The rooms are large with a comfortable bed and modern facilities. Loved the balcony too. Breakfast was fresh with lots of choice including made to order omlettes and pancakes. Rooftop bar is also a great spot to watch the sunset. A quick 10 minute uber to the old town too. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful Scenic Location

The pictures do not do this location justice. Definitely picked the right hotel for many reasons. Great location to soak in the sun and the Adriatic sea. Loads of options for restaurants; on days you don't want to venture far; many of which overlook the sea. There were also these little stops along the 'cliff' where you could go down the stairs and have a picnic. There's a gelato shop outside, not sure if this was part of the hotel or not but, we visited everyday! The hotel location is only a 10min cab ride from old town - which is also a must visit. There's also a supermarket a 5mins away to stock up on snack and mixers ;)

We are a party of 3 in our 30s and this was perfect for us. I think definitely not the place if you're looking for young party holiday, more so if you're after a relaxing break.

We stayed in room 616, with a partial sea view ( we didn't select sea view) so this was nice. The room had a double bed and a roll out bed. Rooms were cleaned and made up everyday. Big variety for breakfast and also tasted good too.

The pool is small but I found this fine as it wasn't busy and we always managed to get sunbeds together which can often be a nightmare abroad. The pool was cold though, definitely would have spent more time in there if it was a little warmer.

One let down, I emailed ahead of the visit that we were celebrating my friends' birthday and so would have liked a little something in the room when we arrived. But ofcourse wouldn't hold this against them.

Views for miles!

The views from this hotel are great with many large windows and location of very convenient in Lapad to the promenade restaurant and the beach. Hotel breakfast Buffett was ok, and temperature control in the rooms was a bit challenging between seasons but besides that the beds were comfortable so that was fine- after all was there to explore and not stay in the room. In room dining via Tv app was easy and a nice modern service too.
The views and location more than made up for it but wanted to share so others aren’t surprised.

Amazing views of the cove. Great location with loads of activities and food place around. Room is fitted out with modern deco and comfy bed and linen. NO AMENITIES IN THE SPA LOCKER ROOM OR SHOWERS IN THE SPA.

WATER BUCKET FOR THE SAUNA IS BROKEN.

ASKED FOR EXTRA HANGERS TO BE PLACED IN THE ROOM PRIOR TO ARRIVAL BUT THERE WERE ONLY NINE.

ALSO ASKED FOR EXTRA TOWELS PRIOR TO ARRIVAL BUT NO EXTRA TOWELS WERE PLACED IN THE ROOM.

SOME HOTEL STAFF HAVE A SUBLTE ATTITUDE. ONE SUBTLY THREW THE TEA CUP FOR MY TEA ON THE TABLE AT BREAKFAST. ASKED FOR HONEY AND WAS GIVEN MILK. STAYED TOWARDS THE END OF THE TOURIST SEASON WHEN THE HOTEL IS GETTING READY TO CLOSE FOR THE FALL AND WINTER SO THE STAFF ARE PROBABLY BURNED OUT FROM THE TOURIST SEASON.

WATER PRESSURE IS BAD AND NON-EXISTENT FOR THE RAIN SHOWERHEAD. NO HOT WATER IN THE SINK WHEN THE WATER IN THE TUB/SHOWER IS RUNNING.

THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN THE EDGE OF THE BALCONY AND THE BALCONY RAIL WHICH THINGS CAN FALL THROUGH AND/OR GET LODGED BETWEEN THE GAP.
