Location was perfect for sight seeing, restaurant and bar next door were great but our room was tiny, toilet didn’t flush properly, shower head was broken. Room was so small we had about 20 inches around our bed. The tv wasn’t much bigger than an ipad. Under the bed was a carpet of dust. It’s all very dated and didn’t really feel comfortable or clean. There wasn’t even a basic hanger to hang your jacket except on the wardrobe. Breakfast was a coffee machine, croissants, bread, yoghurt, very very basic. It’s simply somewhere to sleep but not like a nice relaxing place to spend any time.

We chose hotel for its location as my son was running the marathon. We paid a premium for 3 nights £400. No where near worth it. The room was dark, the bathroom dingy and a little dirty, tv outdated and did not work, broken safe, no lock on bathroom door, small sachets of shower gel, when making up room all that was done was making up the bed!
The staff member booking us in was not happy as we arrived at 3:45am despite having prearranged. Lady in the kitchen was delightful. All glasses were plastic. No facilities in room to make tea/coffee. Bar not open to buy drinks. All in all very disappointing.
It took approx 25 minutes to walk to the Colosseum at a good pace so whilst not perfect it was ok.
I would not recommend this hotel to family or friends.

TERRIBLE!!
This hotel is not worth stars. Between the condition of the room and behaviour from the staff I don’t know what’s WORST! I recently went to Rome with my husband and upon arrival at the hotel we were told we could not check in until 2pm and had to wait until then in a very angry manner. Looking back this was the first red flag. We sat in the lobby area for 2 hours waiting for the time to check in only to witness someone else walk right in and check
in at. 1:50pm no issues. We then approached the counter to wait in line when an older man who works shouted how can I help you!!! When we told him we waiting to check in he said go have a seat I will call you when I’m ready. We then went back to seat only to be waiting for an additional 15 minutes. When we noticed he wasn’t coming we then went back to the counter when he then laughed and said he forgot about us. Which was extremely rude. After going into the bedroom we instantly noticed the room was not clean the floor was not swept and there was hairs on the inside of the bedsheet and bathroom floor. The bathroom conditions are extremely out dated!! This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and the staff are extremely RUDE. On our last day after checking out my husband asked to use the toilet near the check in area and the older man who works there told him No. Honestly the behaviour of the older man who works there is appalling. Just by the way we were treated tells me they don’t like people of colour and it showe

Got the job done for my affordable trip to Rome. The staff was excellent, and the breakfast was your standard continental spread—bread, ham, cheese, fruit, yogurt, some lovely croissants, cereal, and coffee/tea. I stayed in a triple room (one “double,” which is really two twins pushed together, plus one small twin). The bathroom was tiny, but everything was clean. Thank you for a comfortable stay!

All the staff at the Tirreno Hotel were very courteous. I had stayed in this hotel 60 years ago and it has truly changed...haven't we all in 60 years! It is still a nice, clean hotel and the breakfast each day was quite adequate. We even enjoyed lunch one day out on the enclosed patio.

Everything about the hotel was good - breakfast buffet basic but nice set out in the dining room - rooms kept really clean and the hotel well positioned to get to the town and sights. Reception Day Manager and staff were very helpful, efficient and very polite.

Here's the but!! - on returning to the hotel Saturday night about 9.50 the door was locked - one of our party tried the door then rang the bell (as instructed on information) - she tried the door a second time to make sure she had not made a mistake by pushing/pulling the wrong way. When the Night Manager arrived he spoke to her with a really aggressive manner. He was totally inappropriate being very arrogant, using all sorts of hand gestures and raising his voice. He tainted what was otherwise a fantastic visit to your hotel.

Pretty conveniently located halfway between Termini station and the Colosseum, a small cute bar perfect for a Aperol Spritz, a pub, a mediterranean quick eat and a small convenience store on the small street the hotel was on. Super friendly staff and room was great with well functioning A/C, wish American hotels was as well functioning as Tirreno.

Not a good hotel.

The hotel is old and poorly maintained.
Bathroom was tiny and the shower was terrible.
The shower head was half broken.
No room to hang up the towel.
There was a mini fridge that was only wasting energy as it wasn't giving any cold.
The mattress was extremely soft. Very uncomfortable.

El Hotel Tirreno es una propiedad vieja, pero que se compensa con la amabilidad, limpieza y ubicación. Cercano a Termini, pero a la vez distante de la zona insegura. Rodeado de excelentes opciones de comida y transporte. asi como muy cercano a las principales atracciones de Roma como lo es el Coliseo, Foro Romano, Santa Ma Mayor y muy cerca de la gran avenida Cavour.

The property is in a prime location, very close to Colosseum and other historical places. But that is pretty much all.
Most important update they need is the bed. I felt the strings of the bed on all three nights Istayed. I ended up laying a blanket on top of the bed to lessen the impact but was not enough. A hotel needs to provide a good night sleep. This one failed it.
Other issues, AC was not working well. I awoke many times freezing... The internet was not working well everywhere. And the breakfast was mediocre. I couldn't even drink the coffee.

Good for a city break

A very good little hotel for a short city break. It’s very well situated and walkable to most attractions plus a train station to get to the Vatican. The breakfast, albeit free, wasn’t ideal and we did end up eating elsewhere so if you plan to fill up for the day it might not be possible with the offering. Overall, the staff were lovely, it was quiet and well kept and we had no problems at all. We also highly recommend the restaurants along the road, all are lovely and more authentic / not tourist traps.

In a good are close to the train station and to attractions. They had a nice terrace to sit in the evening. Breakfast was dull and sparse the same every day. Rooms were small which was not unexpected for the cost. Bathroom was very tight which made it difficult sharing with others and needing to use it to shower and change, it would be sufficient for a single or a couple but not for less intimate roommates

The hotel was in a great location, walking distance to all the big tourist sites and the metro. The room was functional.
They have a policy of leaving your room key at the front desk every time you leave, which is a huge safety concern as the receptionist gave us someone else's room key when we checked it. We walked in, saw someone's stuff all over the room, and notified the receptionist the room was already taken.
The breakfast was alright. The shower had great pressure. The terrace was cute and the mini fridge was very handy. The receptionists were also helpful and friendly, with maps/suggestions/and directions.

Room had a closed balcony which was nice but room was a bit small for 2 people. We found some ants in the bathroom and room but was only once.

Great spot to stay in Rome. It is was very convenient as it was closed to train station and 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Roman Forum. My only complaint would be that the tv was very small and didnt really work and also the beds and pillows need improvement. We got tons of back pain from sleeping in those beds, the mattress was very thin and old. The breakfast was ok, it had the basics to start your day and the ladies were very nice. Also, in the front desk, the last night we stayed the agent was very nice. Overall everything was good except the beds. I recommend if traveling with kids, as it has good room separation, just needs the beds replaced, because the tv wasn't a big deal since if you are Rome is either you are seeing the city or resting after all the walking you did.

This hotel is a great place to stay if you are in Rome for a few days. The location is brilliant its walkable distance from Termini and Colosseum. Staff is very friendly and happy to help! Breakfast is basic but I was happy with it. The disadvantages are the rooms are not very convenient and are dated. Beds are very small too. For the three nights I booked this was ok but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer.

I stayed at the hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to cleanliness issues. Upon arrival, I noticed that the common areas, including the lobby and hallways, were not well-maintained.

In my room, I found dust on surfaces and stains on the carpet, which made my stay less comfortable. The bathroom was not up to standard either, with unclean fixtures and towels that felt less than fresh.

Given the reputation of the hotel, I expected a higher level of cleanliness and attention to detail. I hope they address these concerns, as the location and amenities have great potential.

Excellent hotel. Very courteous and professional staff at the reception. They even got us a taxi service to the airport for a fixed rate.
The only thing was that our room was the very last one in the back of the building so the wifi signal did not reach. Otherwise everything the way it should and would stay again. Very close to subway station and walking distance to both Termini and Colloseum. Restaurants in the are are great too!

You pay for what you get. Lovely Italian city hotel. Run down , but it makes it unique. Budget hotel if you just need a place to sleep. However, paying a low price does not meen the place needs to be dirty. Small sacrifice for the price. However, the staff is not very helpful. Especially the woman at breakfast. She was SUPER rude. Shouted at me for placing a dirty mug on the right spot. Saw her shouting at other guests as well. Rude, rude and again rude.
However, location is perfect, lots of good restaurants in the area, easy walking to all major attractions. I would stay here again if the staff was more friendly and helpful.

The beds were twin and attached which caused back pain. It should have been a double bed. The bathroom was very narrow a single person could not have shower as you could not bend at all to clean the foot. The wash basin was chock and the water was coming on the floor. It was not worth for the price paid. I think that room was worth for a single person.

This hotel is very dated in every possible way. Not sure how they maintain a 3 star rating. Has not been updated and you can see worn out and stained carpets everywhere. Found a clump of hair in the room. Makes you wonder what else has not been cleaned. Had a refrigerator in the room, which you don't find in every Italian hotel and wifi was fast which was a welcome feature. Close to amenities and attractions.

The Hotel is not that \"nice\", very outdated but great for us! Very close to everything in Rome, had several restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Breakfast was OK but served its purpose! It’s fine if you only need the room to sleep. Our shower wouldn’t drain quickly so you would stand in water and if you didn’t shower quickly the water would spill out since the doors didn’t close properly. I’m pretty sure the beds were roll aways and if they weren’t then it’s a poor excuse of a mattress. Our room was on the street side of the hotel so every night it was loud from the restaurants and bars nearby.

First, everywhere in this hotel smells. The air conditioner in our room was locked on 25 degrees and we could not change it. The bathroom smelled the worth.
Second, the dirt everywhere. In the shower area, there was even mold. In the celling of our room was two big squers that were dump. In the breakfast area, the tables were covered by single-use textiles. When they were dirty, the cleaning people would just spray something over it instead of changing them, and then asked you to seat on a wet, dirty table.
Third, insects! We even saw an insect in the sink.
Fourth, Room equipment! This was truly awful. There was no hot water, not a sigle platw or cup or even a proper bedsheets! The blankets were dirty.

All together, I would not recommend this place to anyone.
