This pleasant city hotel is located in the centre of the city within a few minutes' walk of the most popular and historically significant sights, including the cathedral, the town hall, museums and the treasury. Built in 1982 and renovated in 2008, this hotel offers a total of 99 rooms spread over 6 floors, including 30 single rooms, 66 double rooms and 3 apartments.
Facilities include a 24-hour reception desk with a safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom, a lift and a café. Other facilities include a TV room.
There are 4 conference rooms with audio/visual equipment and a public Internet terminal. Room, laundry and medical services are available, as well as a bicycle storage facility and a car park.
The tastefully decorated rooms come with an en suite bathroom with hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, Internet access, a double bed, carpeting, central heating and a safe. From the A4 (E314) motorway from the Netherlands: leave the motorway at the Zentrum exit.
Turn right onto Krefelder Str and continue straight ahead in the direction of Zentrum. At the end of the road (at the traffic lights), turn left into Monheimsallee.
At the next large crossing turn right onto Peterstrasse. Follow this road until the no entry sign and then turn right into Ursulinerstrasse.
Take the next right into Buchkremerstrasse. The hotel is about 50 m further along on the right-hand side.
From the BAB 4 coming from Cologne or from the BAB 44 (E40) coming from Düsseldorf/ Liége: drive along the BAB 544 until the end of the motorway (Europaplatz). Leave the roundabout by taking the second exit in the direction of Blücherplatz.
At the crossing, turn left onto Jülicher Strasse and take the right lane. Follow Jülicher Strasse until the no entry sign and then turn right onto Ursulinerstrasse.
Take the next street on the right into Buchkremerstrasse. The hotel is about 50 m further along on the right-hand side.

I am very disappointed. I have paid for double bed but I am given twin beds. I asked reception that I have paid for double bed which is higher the price than twin bed but I was told there is no double bed left and neither they tried to compensate the difference in price

The hotel is within the inner-city walking precinct and is challenging to reach by car. The gentleman who greeted us at reception was rather curt and untoward. I felt that I was an inconvenience rather than a guest. The room was smallish but clean with a view of the Cathedral and Rathaus. The city centre is very walkable from the hotel. The buffet breakfast offered a great selection of food both hot and cold. Would happily stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel a couple of times over the last 30 years.. location is fantastic, i find the service provided by the staff faultless, they are professional and will do what they can to assist. Breakfast is really good with loads of options. Rooms are good sized but no air con, so in hot weather you have to leave the window open...
In summary, whilst this is not a negative review, it does feel like it needs updating in line with some of the other hotel chains in the locale

Excellent location, steps from the Rathaus square and the cathedral, and a batch of good restaurants. Breakfast was excellent, only slightly diminished by so-so coffee. My room was up under the eaves of the building, with a lot of character, but also had a good little fridge and plenty of storage. A couple of little oddities with lights that didn't work and cold water which would go warm, but nothing serious.

Okay hotel in Aachen city centre. Good location. Decent breakfast. Room window not very well soundproofed-it was possible to clearly hear people talking outside the hotel at 4am. WiFi signal in room was terrible. No free bottle of water in room either - its the norm in German hotels to provide a free bottle of water.

This hotel was extremely disappointing and served up 2 of the worst nights sleep I have ever had. The room lacked any ventilation besides opening the window - however the noise of rowdy drunks all night and the construction site across the road starting early each day was unbearably loud. The mattresses were also incredibly unyielding and hard which also contributed to the poor sleep.

First of all, they don’t have parking. There’s maybe 6 spots and you can forget about getting one. To advertise parking is wrong. The staff was a bit clueless, and the managers were not at all friendly. The internet was atrocious. Non existent. .1 - .25 mBit down. When I informed the manager, all I got was excuses. They ‘fixed’ it and I was getting less than 1 mBit down. The manager said it was fixed and that’s all they could do. Breakfast was absolutely nothing special. I would never stay here again.

Bedroom and bathroom were recently renewed and in good order. Spacious and clean. Only one negative comment: the pillows were uncomfortable and far too soft. The stuffing of some of them had, frankly, collapsed inside. They need replacing.

The hotel and location was very good. The price advertised here said/says Breakfast Included. But when I checked in, I was told it was NOT included in the price. My family goes to Aachen now and then to visit my sister. When my family books at Mercure Au Dom and the booking price says Breakfast Included, it is included in the price and we don't pay. Because Mercure didn't have this option at this time, I tried Aquis because it was new to Expedia.

We visit Aachen several times a year and have passed this hotel many times. We knew the location was excellent and it always looked nice from the outside so when we decided to book a last minute weekend away and saw a great price on Expedia it didn't take much persuading.

We've lived in Germany and speak German so weren't really bothered by the choice on TV choice but other travellers may find the channels a bit limited, with only CNN in English and all others German.
They have underground parking which we used just 25m from the hotel entrance. We could leave the car there for a few hours after check out so were able to spend Sunday wandering around town and at the Carolus Thermen mineral baths (a must-do for Aachen!).
Would definitely stay there again.

Zentral gelegen in der Innenstadt entsprach dieses Hotel weitgehend den Erwartungen, die man an ein 4 Sterne-Hotel stellt: saubere, gut ausgestattete und geräumige Zimmer, freundliches Personal und ein ansprechendes Frühstück: am Wochenende bis 11 Uhr, sehr kundenfreundlich. Das innenliegende Bad mit der üblichen leistungsschwachen Entlüftung war etwas eng, die beiden knapp 90 cm breiten 2 Einzelbettbetten waren für uns zu hart und die Kopfkissen waren schwer in die gewünschte Form zu bringen.
Für unsere Übernachtung Ende Juni hatten wir um ein ruhiges Zimmer gebeten und erhielten es auch, Zimmer 501 im 5. Stock. Dass auf einem Balkon gegenüber dann bis um 2 Uhr morgens lautstark gefiert wurde, war nicht die Schuld des Hotels, die laute Müllentlehrung um 6.20 Uhr hingegen wohl schon. Kurz danach schien dann die Sommersonne so intensiv in die Fenster (ohne außenliegenden Sonnenschutz), dass sich das Zimmer sehr schnell extrem aufwärmte und an Schlaf weiter nicht zu denken war. Schade, dass es in den Zimmern hier keine Klimaanlage gibt. Wir zogen dann um in das Zimmer 512 zur Straßenseite hinaus, dort konnte man es gut aushalten, denn morgens lag es auf der Schattenseite und der Straßenlärm lag in Rahmen dessen, was man bei einem Innenstadthotel erwarten muss.

スタッフの対応も素晴らしく、予定より早く到着した際には荷物を快く預かってくださいました。また、急な雨の際には本数は限られているものの、傘の貸し出しもあり助かりました。
チェックアウト時にはタクシーも手配していただき、10分以内に到着するなど、最後まで丁寧な対応が印象的でした。
朝食のビュッフェもとても充実しており、特にハムやチーズの種類が豊富だったのが印象的でした。
アーヘンを再訪する際には、ぜひまた利用したいホテルです。
