This property was fantastic. I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel very near the train station and you can't beat the location of this property. I was warmly greeted by the staff, who even offered a nice hot cup of coffee. The reception area is large, comfortable, and was playing some great music. It's a fun atmosphere. My room was just what I needed, the floor was quiet, and the next day the staff kindly allowed us to store our bags for a few hours so we could explore the Christmas market before our train. I really enjoyed my stay and hope one day to have the chance to return.

Got an amazing price at last minute and sharing a room with strangers,so can’t really complain.Location was convenient for walking i to town centre but parking nearby expensive and meters until 2100 hrs.
However room was really noisy as no sound proofing so could hear station announcements and I think there were three groups of Schoolchildren staying there.luckily I was leaving early but would have been Impossible to sleep after 0600 when the railway station came to life
Young gentleman acting as Barman/receptionist seemed very put out if people asked fir anything other than a drink -not friendly.

Had to change room as the first stank of tobacco - despite no smoking policy obviously some selfish egoists don't care less. Anyway another room found - lots of warm radiators made for a very comfortable night. Bar and ATM machine avaialble as well so very handy.

Chose this hotel just because of its proximity to the station, but turned out to be one of the worst decisions.
Extremely claustrophobic rooms, not very well kept and very poor furnishings and incompetent staff. For 10 buks more you can go for an Ibis or likes, which has much higher standards than this hotel.
Wont even come close to the AO hotels ever!!!

Horrible place, very rude staff, rude and inept and racist manager. The hotel is right besides the Aachen HBF train station, and that means you will hear every single train that enters and exits the station, regardless if your window is open or closed. There is no central air or fan, and this makes for uncomfortable times should the room get hot, your only other option is to open the window, which will expose you to not only the excessive train noises, but the traffic of cars driving by on the very busy street.

Very importantly, this hotel has a club house in its building that hosts several night events each week. During my stay at the A & O hostel/hotel, I was told by the club house staff that certain section of the hotel is not safe for people who are not whites, because they do have skinheads and far-right extremists who come to their clubs, and they can attack any hotel guest that does not fit in with them.

In the kitchen, there is a sign that states on the fridge that cleanup of the fridge and kitchen is done on Mondays, but at the A&O hostel in Aachen, there was no cleanup on Monday or Tuesday, it was a filthy mess with the trash bin overflown with garbage that extended to the floor and with dishes scattered around the kitchen. I then went grocery shopping on Wednesday and purchased 35 euros worth of groceries, cooked them and placed it inside the fridge. By Thursday, I noticed that the kitchen was cleaned up and my food was among the items that was discarded away.

Very Expensive for Below average Hostel

Price for a one night stay with a double bed was over $200 USD. The hotel and room was WAY over priced for the quality of facility and quality of room. Room was very plain with little to no decor. Felt more like an industrial service quarters. Hallways echoed loudly with every noise. Best feature of the facility was close proximity to Train station. It was less than a 5 minute walk to the station.

It is what it claims to be - a hotel that is part of a hostel. You get what you pay for. Lifts didn't always work. Towels and sheets were stained. But large sized room, and the bathroom was surprisingly new and workable. OK for just a night.

Very basic hotel room but decent for the price. We had a private room. Location was perfect for us, as we used Aachen as a base for traveling to other cities. (You're a three minute walk to the central station, where you can get tickets, there's a drug store, McDonalds, and two snack bars.) Beds were comfortable but the pillows were way too thin. Room was stuffy and a fan would have been a big help. There is a laundromat across the street that was very clean and affordable.

This is the fourth time I have stayed at an A&O and the first time at this location. We paid hotel price for hostel accommodations. I was disappointed in the reception personnel. They were busy talking amongst themselves and hurriedly put the form in front of me. No greeting. We reserved a double with private bath (shower) including toiletries. There were towels, a hair dryer and soap dispenser (attached to wall) but no toiletries. Not even a shower cap.
The hotel has two elevators so we couldn't understand why we had to wait 15 minutes for one. We were on the fourth level and had several pieces of luggage each so we did not want to use the stairs. Neither elevator was moving so my daughter walked down to the next level to see why it was not moving. The door on the elevator would not close.
At check out I told receptionist about problem. She said she did not know of any problem. That was that.

I loved the view of the sun rise above Aachen's roofs. The hotel was close to downtown, parking available. the walls seemed a little thin, every sound from the neighbors with their kids was clearly overheard in our room. The beds were comfortable, however the plastic covers somewhat weird. The price was right for the hotel.

A good find near the train station

I chose this place because it is close to the station and had good reviews. I was not disappointed.

The A&O chain is a budget chain which operates a hostel and a hotel in the same building. Some floors have hostel-style accommodation, while others have reasonably priced hotel rooms. I stayed in one of the hotel rooms, and was pleased with the quality. I really had everything I needed in one place, and it was clean and very comfortable.

The breakfast offered by this hotel is also really quite nice, and they try their best for a little variety. I applaud them for that, but not for the \"Asian Soup\" that they cooked up on the last day I was there. (!)

This hotel also offers laundry services, but there is also a laundromat across the street which got everything done in about an hour.

If you like this place, it is a chain with other places all over Germany, with a few locations in Austria and the Czech Republic. On my next visit to Germany, I will definitely see if a room in one of this chain's hotels is available.

Absolutely perfect for our stay, everything we needed. Only marked down for cleanliness because my son moved a bed and there was a lot of dust underneath. But a normal person wouldn't move the bed from one side of the room to the other? Great to have towels, sheets, shower gel so no need to pack it. TV in room meant we could watch the tour de France!

I took three (quite elderly) relatives to Aachen for a pre-Christmas celebration, taking in the market and enjoying the local restaurants. I'd stayed at one of the A&O hostels in Berlin in October and I wasn't disappointed with the Aachen establishment. It was clean, friendly, accessible and comfortable and I'd certainly recommend it for a few nights. I shall use it again in the future.

We chose to stay at this hostel for one night because it was a great price and close to the train station. It was easy to get there after getting off the train at night. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful in getting us checked in, providing a map, and telling us how to get downtown. There is a large lobby where a few guests were watching a soccer game. We were not impressed with the condition of the room, but it did not help that we had a very smelly roommate who chose to shave in the bathroom and leave hair EVERYWHERE. I wish we had stayed somewhere closer to the downtown area, and a bit nicer. The quality was fairly comparable to the price we paid.

Had I wanted to stay in a hostel environment, I would have not selected the A&O Hotel! The room was very cramped - with bunk beds - and had a total hostel-feel to it. Moreover, the staff at the reception was not very helpful - even in giving directions to the centre! A bit disappointing and not value for money!

This hostel/hotel was fine. I stayed for one night when I was supposed to stay for two - they get a thumbs up for not charging me the night I couldn't make it to Aachen because of the trains. They lose points for the many hairs on the sheets and on the towels. Otherwise, the hotel was fine.

For a basic hotel, this was very nice. It met all of our needs, was comfortable, clean, and the staff was helpful. I liked the fact that the toilet and shower were in seperate rooms so two people could get ready at the same time. Close to the train station and not too far from the Cathedral (15-20 min. walk).

My husband & I were very happy with the A & O Hostel. We stayed in an adult room on the 5th floor for 3 nights. It was bright, clean & located in an area in Aachen that was easy to walk to see everything the city has to offer.

The daily breakfast buffet was wonderful & very well priced. The food was fresh & more than the norm. It was a great way to start the day in one of the most charming cities in Germany.

If you're traveling on a budget, this is a great accommodation. Be ready to rent towels and bed sheets. No big surprise if you've stayed in hostels before. Some of the staff are very knowledgeable. Lage und Preis des Hotels sind top, allerdings ist es eben wegen der Lage am Bahnhof ziemlich laut. Gerade, weil es im Zimmer schnell recht warm wird und man unmöglich bei offenem Fenster schlafen kann ist das nicht optimal. Leider war auch das Badezimmer in keinem guten Zustand, insbesondere die Dusche. Insgesamt ist es für kurze Aufenthalte, gerade wenn man eher nicht so viel Zeit im Hotel verbringen möchte völlig okay. Insbesondere wenn man etwas Geld sparen möchte. Mehr aber auch nicht.

Det lignede ikke, at det blev gjort rent særlig ofte. Der var ingen ting såsom gardiner, der kunne lukke den øverste køje af, så hvis folk kom sent hjem, fik man lys lige i ansigtet. Det ligger tæt på banegården, hvilket er fedt. Til gengæld er vinduerne på ingen måde lydtætte, så man kan høre alle tog køre forbi og alle meddelelser over højtalerne på banegården igennem hele aftenen og morgenen. Lidt træls, men også rigtig billigt.

Negativt: Tristeste rommet jeg har sovet i noen gang. Grå vegger, mørkegrått tak, svarte lamper med gitter rundt, skarpt lys, tung lukt da kom inn i rommet, dårlig stemning. Selve hostellet var og ikke spesielt trivelig men kom om kvelden og dro tidlig morgenen etter. Ikke håndkler på rommet, kanskje vanlig på hostel, men kunne ha opplyst om det når reiser med barn og ikke er ungdomsbackpacker. Er mer vant til hotell men har bodd på hostel før uten å få dårlig inntrykk. Måtte gjøre nesten hele innsjekkingen selv, fylle inn pass osv, det er lite service etter en lang togreise som sikkert mange andre som bor der.
Positivt: Veldig hyggelige vennlige ansatte i resepsjonen. Det var overraskende lite støy fra toget på en hverdagsnatt selv om rett v togstasjonen, sikkert pga ikke så mye tog kjører forbi Aachen om natta. Rent bad og ellers. Kort vei til toget. Men ikke et godt opphold for oss.

Sind seit Eröffnung (waren mit die ersten Gäste im A&O Aachen) jedes Jahr einmal dort. Bei manchen Dingen kann man denken dass Personal keine Lust hat, zu arbeiten. Duschbefestigung recht locker, Duschtür wurde schon lange nicht mehr richtig gereinigt oder getauscht, Abflusssieb ebenfalls. Dass die zugigen Fenster in der heutigen Zeit noch so erlaubt sind? Fahrstuhl könnte auch mal richtig gereinigt werden.

Ich war im A& O im Rahmen einer Dienstreise. Leider konnte erst um 15:00 Uhr einchecken.Das Zimmer war sauber und in einem guten Zustand. Leider konnte ich den Fernseher nicht benutzen, da ich plötzlich kein Signal mehr hatte. Der Hausmeister oder Servicemitarbeiter,war leider nicht mehr im Hause.Die MitarbeiterInnen* waren sehr freundlich.

Das a&o Aachen Hauptbahnhof liegt absolut verkehrsgünstig, nur wenige Schritte vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, die Zimmer absolut sauber, die Betten bequem. Der Eingangsbereich ist sympathisch gestaltet.
Das einzige Problem ist die Lautstärke. Selbst bei geschlossenen Fenstern und Rolläden waren in meinem Zimmer die häufigen Lautsprecherdurchsagen des Aachener Hauptbahnhofs klar und deutlich zu hören ebenso wie die ein- und abfahrenden Züge. Das machte mir das Einschlafen schwierig und führte dazu, dass ich immer wieder aufwachte.

El hotel está bien por el precio que pagamos, el único problema que tuvimos fue que al hacer el check-in no encontraban la segunda habitación (que habíamos pagado), por lo que nos hicieron llamar a expedia para solucionarlo, haciendonos esperar 1 hora por ello. Al final resultó que se les habían hecho a ellos dos reservas de una y no encontraban la segunda... El resto de la experiencia perfecto, buena relación calidad-precio.

Bekvämt och prisvärt med bra läge i Aachen

Vi hade ett familjerum med eget badrum. Det var välstädat och sängarna var sköna. Gott om uttag för att ladda mobiler osv. Bra wifi. Rekommenderar verkligen att lägga till den goda och prisvärda frukosten. Barnen åt dessutom till halva priset. Vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

12€ for a bed in a 4-bed room is definitely one of the cheapest options you will find in Germany. Staff friendly and accommodating and location just a few steps from Aachen main station. Rest is up to luck of who you have to share your room with. My room was really smelly and the bathroom was quite dirty but I think that was due to the person I had to share my room with rather than the cleanliness of the hostel itself.

We konden zelf een kopje thee nemen bij aankomst.
Bij vertrek mochten we de koffers in de bagageroom laten staan.
De kamer was keurig in orde. Ontbijt ook goed.

Kein Respekt Personal ist respektlos. Und Reinigerinnen sie nicht normal ohne in der Tür klopfen direkt rein 3 mall dass finde ich nicht normal wenn Mann Drüse ist und Reinigerinnen kommt in der Rom und kann alles nehmen was die brauche ohne in der Tür klopfen rein kommt. Ich war nackt. Dk ich war mit meine Mann in der Zimmer 2 mall Reinigerinnen kommt ohne klopfen 3 Tage war keine Müll weg und Handtücher getauscht ich habe gefragt wegen Zimmer reinigen müssen wir extra noch mall zahlen der Personal von reception hat mir gesagt ich habe Buchung. Ich gehe zahlen die sage dass geht nicht das ich zahle meine Buchung war storniert ich bekomme keine Nachricht von dem AO Hostel Hauptbahnhof Aachen. Ich bin heute Drüse weil alle Hotel sind teuer. Dass finde ich nicht normal so was kann nicht sein alle sind am Anfang die lache aber ich weis nicht warum die sind so

Es war etwas zu laut mit dem Wind der gegen die Fenster geschlagen hat und die Bahnhof ansagen waren auch etwas laut, die man durch den Wind stärker gehört hat auch mit geschlossenen Fenstern und Rolläden Und der Duschkopf hat meine Meinung nach zu wenig Druck und keine Wasser Strahl Einstellung und es gab zu wenig Sender auf dem Fernseher aber sonst hat es mir da sehr gefallen
