both double beds was just 2 single beds pushed together , pillows was pathetic and x2 single duvets for a kind size bed .

We are seniors and did not enjoy our stay too much. With no car.. it is very difficult to get into Aachen! Bus stop far away! We did not expect an Italian restaurant in the hotel with no other option. Breakfast expensive.. they charged for the pool, robes .. house keeping very poor.. we still enjoyed our time in Aachen .. but would not recommend the Art Hotel superior. We expect more from a 4 star hotel!!!

The rooms are quite spacious, offering plenty of comfort. However, it's important to have your own car, as there are few transportation options available in the area. This might be inconvenient for those relying on public transit. As for the dining experience, both breakfast and dinner were fairly decent, providing a satisfactory variety of dishes, though nothing particularly stood out. While the meals weren't extraordinary, they were adequate enough to enjoy. All in all, the accommodation offers good room space, but transportation limitations may pose a challenge for some guests.

disappointing front desk attitude

When checked out we had disagreement on how invoices could be handled. The lady at the front desk immediately went aggressive, raising voice, calling us ‘very rude’, saying ‘I know the type of people like you’, ‘don’t come back’, etc. Later on when we discussed with the supervisor about the situation, instead of apologizing, she re-iterated her comments and defended herself being right, in spite of two colleagues felt apologetic.

Was a real pity to have an aggressive employee at the front desk as the hotel itself is nice - good size of room, sauna, and breakfast.

The hotel was good but there were spiders in our room, and my daughter is afraid of spiders so she couldn't sleep well. Early in the morning there were 2 big vans behind the French door of our room (which opens to the garden) I got up because I didn't feel safe. I attach the picture.

Nice hotel with miserable WIFI

I received a pleasant welcome and my room turned out to be very spacious with a comfortable bed. The location affords a good sleep quality as it is in a very quiet residential area away from the main part of Aachen but within walking distance of the city centre. The breakfast buffet is generous in choice and quality.
However, there were a few critical flaws. On the first night, the wifi was non -existent for some time until a staff member contacted an IT support person. From then on, the internet worked very slowly some of the time but often broke down, forcing a restart of what I was doing. This hit and miss persisted throughout the 2 days of my stay.
There were no tea / coffee making facilities in the room, which for a hotel of this price range I would have expected.
The hotel surcharge for pool use. I think this is not conducive of good customer relations.
Overall, I am sad that such an otherwise excellent hotel imposes such shortcomings on their clientele.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Breakfast was a good value with the room, buying it separate for 20Euro P.person seems pricey. The pool is basic, still the kids had fun. The Finn and Turkish step sauna seemed great, small but fully equipped Sauna area. Unfortunately we did not have time during our short stay.

Quiet stay, good restaurant, large rooms

Quiet small hotel in a suburban neighborhood just outside of Aachen's city center. Rooms are very spacious - we booked one of the larger suites, which ended up being a large one-bedroom apartment with dining room and kitchen (although the kitchen was not outfitted, so we could not use it). The breakfast buffet is quite good, as other reviewers have noted. It is pricey at 19 eur/person, but frankly, there are no restaurants nearby, so paying a bit more for the convenience is worth it. We also ate dinner at the restaurant and it was very good, and quick - which was great because we have a young child. Altogether very good and prompt service at reception and at the restaurant. We used the small indoor pool once (for our son). If you are traveling with young children, there is a park and playground directly across the street. This is a family-friendly hotel - quite a few young children were staying at the property when we were there. Street parking is available and free of charge. A parking garage, for 10 eur/night, is available but we didn't need it because we found street parking. You really must have a car to stay at this hotel, otherwise it would be challenging to get around. The zoo is nearby, as is a walking/biking path that is quite nice. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The only downside is lack of places to eat nearby. We probably won't go back to Aachen again, but if we did, we'd stay at this hotel.

loved the room but with the very high price of breakfast it would have been great if we could have a kettle in the room. we have an autistic child who did not like to be in the restaurant so i feel we wasted our money and could have given him his usual breakfast in our room if there was a kettle this was why we only used once

It is a Superior Art Hotel

As is normal in much of Europe, no AC but the breeze kept the temperature comfortable. Updated bathroom and how nice it was to have a small refrigerator/freezer in mini kitchen in all the rooms. Wake to hear the birds singing in your backyard, walk to a fabulous Italian restaurant, friendly staff. There is nothing to dislike (other than a bit of difficulty finding it) about this hotel.

I really liked the hotel in general. Room is very spacious and clean. The negative that I would mention is that from 4 days I stayed in the Art Hotel Aachen Superior, swimming pool hasn't been working for 2 days, which was a pity as it was one of the reason why I had chosen this hotel. And also wifi wasn't fast enough.

Great hotel situated on the outskirts of Aachen, in a more residential area which is very quiet. Clean well maintained room with comfortable bed. Breakfast is huuge and worth the 15euro. Everyone on staff was very happy to help and answer any questions.

This is a classy hotel with quiet rooms and lovely amenities, like a day spa, pool, and a fine restaurant. The service was excellent. A little on the outskirts of the city, but an excellent location for drivers (and just a 5-8 minute ride to downtown). Recommended.

Ok for mountaineers arriving on public transport

We got a parking ticket because parking was not free and only short stay, so we would have had to keep coming back to feed the meter. The 'host' said \" this is Germany, not England' which I thought very rude.
The room was small and the top of three flights of very steep stairs. The bathroom was very clean but I didn't like sharing and apparently he did not have any other rooms (even though I could see the room keys sitting on the wall behind his counter!).
Certainly did not come anywhere near the other guesthouse we stayed at in Germany the night before, even though the price was similar.
This guy needs some training on customer service.

Nice hotel in a quite residential area.

Main complain is that there was no coffee in the room, which is a let down.

Breakfast is good but expensive (€18). You can have a small breakfast for €8.5, which is plenty anyway. Bus stop just 600m away, direct connection to the University. Nice residential area 20 min walk from the main train station. Helpful staff. Pool is small, but pretty. Sauna costs €10 and need to be booked in advance as it has to be switched on for you.

I like it but my wife thought it was very austere - which it was. Very simple modern furnishings. Comfortable bed. TV in bedroom and lounge. Kitchen but no equipment - not even a kettle with coffee/tea - if you're staying less than 3 months.Walk in shower. Very clean. Wide access throughout - corridors, lift, doorways, restaurant - I would guess very suitable for wheelchair users. Excellent breakfast - though a bit pricey at 14 Euro. Aachen is very beautiful - especially the cathedral.

Very pleasant stay for our family

We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay again. We ended up in a suite with a kitchen, sitting area, and bedroom. The pool was very nice, although a bit over-chlorinated. The water temperature was perfect. The location is a bit far from the city center, but a short drive to the main sights. We had no trouble finding nearby street parking both nights of our stay. The first night, we walked to a restaurant recommended by the desk staff and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet. We didn't eat at the hotel's restaurant. The menu sounded delicious but we have a 7 year old and we are thrifty travelers, so it was a bit out of our price range. Overall, we loved the hotel and would definitely stay again!

Your site advertises free parking but it means public parking on the street. You have to pay 8 euros per day for underground parking, and the hotel declares that there have been recent car break-ins the the area. So you should be clear about this. The hammam area is in dire need of renovation (ceiling crumbles, buttons don't work...). Otherwise the hotel is comfortable, the service is very good, the staff very kind. If you come by car, pay attention to the new environmental zone, you will need the \"umweltplakett\" to access the hotel's street.

Not what I was expecting

My thoughts on the hotel are a little tinged by the fact that, through entirely my own fault, I was expecting a hotel in the centre of Aachen and this was not it. In its favour, this meant that the area was very quiet and we had a large, light and airy room with a shared balcony. It was not quite as stylish as I was expecting but the staff were very friendly and helpful and we had no complaints. Two tips for eating out - the Elisenbrunnen restaurant in the centre of town by the spa, particularly for breakfast, and the Haus am See by the lake in the woods on its outskirts.

The staff is very friendly, the room was very clean. It was more like a small apartment, it was clean but the daily cleaning service is not so exhaustive, i.e. they did not put new cups every day or even took the kitchen trash, but the staff is quick and friendly so whatever you asked, they will gladly help you. However, they did clean the room and make the bed. The bathroom is huge and very clean. The first floor is a little bit noise and just in front of the street parking, so the headlights illuminate the windows at night, be sure to close the curtains. The place is relaxing, in a quiet neighborhood, but some guests might be noisy in the street parking lot.

I am a regular visitor to the Art Hotel Superior and have always enjoyed staying there. It has the advantage of a good restaurant which is open most evenings. Best to check in advance. It is outside the city centre and a walk of 15 minutes to the centre.

Like an umbrella you only need it badly when it rains and aircon when it is scorching! This hotel could do with thinking carefully about the needs of tourists as well as aiming at business people eg 30 mins of free wifi is all we need to keep in touch with home. We do not want to pay £4 for 24 hours when we are asleep or out visiting Aachen. I could add more constructive comments but the essence of my comments relate to \"tourist\"appeal.
