Typical to all older buildings in Downtown. Even on the 20th floor, you can hear a ton of street noise. It didn’t bother us but might bother other travelers looking for a quiet night.
The rooms were nice and bright with all the windows.

The location of the Magnolia Hotel is great! We've stayed there many times over the years. Usually for Dallas Stars hockey games. Only 2 out of 7 elevators were working on this trip. The valet is $48 a night, which I feel is excessive for Dallas. We were not allowed to check-in until after 3:00 PM. Yes, I know that the official check-in time starts at 4:00 PM.

I feel it was just a “fine” place to stay the valet staff were probably the most helpful and sweetest throughout the trip from directions to service. The front staff wast very knowledgeable the hotel had a weird smell when you walked in and there were tiles in my restroom that were broken and wet under so my socks kept getting wett it was gross.

Valet was $48 a night but they were great! Do not try and park your car- you will have to walk MANY BLOCKS back. Across the street is dining, down two blocks is 7/11 and McDonalds. Beds decent. They had fans available! No breakfast though. Old building, needs updating. Will be back!

Husband selected Magnolia because he used to stay there a lot when traveling in early 2000s. Nice old building but dated. Things worked but minimally (tv), few amenities. Not sure it was worth price but grand in old fashioned sense.

All the elevators except maybe 1 or 2 are broken. Literally took 25 min to even get SQUEEZED ONTO ONE. The stairs are not easy to find at all only emergency exits so its through staff area. The bed is horribly hard. The mattress looked to be 100 years old and they only had a single sheet separating you from it and it kept falling down at night. No room service to get new towels or make the bed. We had 1 wash cloth for 2 of us for 2 days. It was..... it needs a lot of work

The property is in a great location. The only downside is it’s outdated so the rooms don’t have central air in the TV. Don’t have app access and the access to the ice machine is really frequently scary to go along to go even with someone.

I was in Dallas for the weekend celebrating my birthday and the experience at this hotel from the beginning was absolutely horrible!!! When I arrived at the hotel and checked into my room, it was extremely hot. The bathroom was dirty and the view, well there’s really no view. The room was not how it appeared online. I called the front desk staff and expressed my concerns. One of the female receptionist was rude and unprofessional. When I asked her name she said, “the letter A and the letter J. She was very snappy and showed lack of empathy for my concerns. The money I spent was not worth my stay. I check in at 4pm and by 4:06pm, I was asking for a refund so I can find another hotel. Expedia called the hotel directly and they refused to refund me. I asked to speak with the manager and went down to the front desk and here we are 2 1/2 weeks later, still no call from the manager. I would never patronize this business again. I pride myself of great customer service because I know what I give to others, Besides, anywhere my money is spent, I deserve to be respected and treated with care. I prayed and tried to make the best of it until I heard from the manager which I’m still waiting. Please consider before booking or you’ll probably end up very dissatisfied like me.

valet sucks. just straight up didnt bring my vehicle up when I needed it the most. Waited almost an hour and still didnt come up lol. Missed my event. Only 1 person doing valet in the morning. They have a operations problem. Water leaking from the ceiling FYI, 4th floor hallway. Def showing its age.

The room wasn't very clean, I don't know what I was expecting but I definitely expected more for it being in downtown Dallas. There was an annoying noise above the bed that made it hard for me to sleep, not sure where it was coming from but it would turn on and off, it was like a buzzing sound and looked like it was coming from the vent but even turning the air off didn't stop it. Elevators stopped working at one point during my stay as well, so had to take the stairs in my heels which isn't a big deal but was inconvenient especially with how many elevators they had... Not impressed with my stay overall. I was excited when they said they were overbooked and upgraded me to a suite, however the suite was not impressive. Again, not sure what I was expecting but don't think I will be staying here next time I come to Dallas. Didn't use the valet or parking to speak on that, but the one interaction I had at the front desk was friendly.

I experienced none of the issues some other guests have complained about. I had great internet service on an upper floor, the temperature in the room was fine, the service was efficient, outside noise was minimal. I thought my suite was unique, with an \"office\" feel in keeping with the building's history, and was very comfortable there. I enjoyed my stay and would return.

Can't regulate the heating A/C system. The room was too cold upon arrival. The front desk called maintenance to adjust the room temperature. After maintenance came, the room was still too cold. Called maintenance again. After maintenance came a second time, the room was still too cold. I turned off the A/C system in order to have the room at a comfortable temperature. This was the only complaint I have. Everything else was five stars.

There wasn’t a kitchen and it was just so inconvenient. I take responsibility for my choice. I was in a hurry and booked last minute. Only valet parking, so once my car was gone that was done. I lost my adapter to my charger. The room was too old and didn't have anywhere else to charge. My coffee pot leaked water everywhere. I called for another one and they brought it but no apology. The hotel was too expensive for what we received. I have never been this disappointed, but sometimes things happen.

That is all, the AC did not work.: facial an pubic hair in the restroom of my room, in two seoerate situations I was cussed and yelled at by valet (that btw thy don’t tell you that the hotel does not offer “regular” parking

The picture showed a kitchenette with a fridge and sink. The room had a mini fridge. I have a medically complex toddler and rented at this hotel because of the pictures. We left early (not because of this, he got sick) but it was a pain to store and warm up his food.

The location of this hotel is perfect, it’s right in downtown Dallas. Valet/Doorman was a nightmare when I first checked in. Kind of rude but I was like, he’s probably having a bad day. Checked in seamlessly and went to my room. Fairly big size room and spacious in the main room and bathroom. Mattress Beds were old and not very comfortable. Only other issue I had was I requested someone service my room and then just brought towels, asked again and nothing. Lastly, the AC in the room was crap. Don’t know if it worked or not. Overall 5 out 10. Location was a 9 out of 10

Character Hotel, with great history. You can tell that the renovation was 30 years ago….could use some updating again. Nice sized room. Only two towels and hand towels in bathroom. Kitchenette was a nice feature, but was in rough shape. Cabinets screwed shut. Only a few utensils, no dish soap to wash them. Elevator floors were often wet and sticky when we entered. Bed was good. Overall a decent experience for the price.

The room was clean and the staff are really nice. The room we had was decent and honestly my only complaint was the paint was poorly done in the room I had. The biggest issue was parking. It's basically valet only, you pay a $100 deposit the night you check in (refundable at checkout) but they take the valet out of the deposit. I'd much prefer to pay the valet with the room rather than find that out at checkout.

I like the staff they was very helpful and knowledgeable of any questions that I had. They were very nice and polite. The staff made me feel like I was someone instead of an object. Everything was explained to me and if I had any questions that I did not understand the staff kindly explained. Checking out was a breeze I appreciate that I there was no rush of any inconvenience the staff was always polite and helpful and the staff even called me a cab which I highly appreciate it. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone because it is clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful towards you.

African American woman at front desk went above and beyond for customer who was having anxiety/panic attack, i even offered to assist(she was abrasive with her no) but i could see why. But she was consistently helpful, which was appreciated. Place could use some major updates along with bug maintenance.

Parking was.a joke. They valet your car, then charge you and insane amout at checkout. Room itself was ok. But the shower was a joke. I was 20 minutes into a shower before i had hot water. Staff was not rude, but unapproachable altogether. Dark and drab is how i would describe the hotel.

Parking was the FIRST issue. There’s NO parking. You can valet for $52/night. I gave in and had to valet after driving looking for parking. The valet said to just let them know 5 minutes before i come down to get my truck. I was there for an event close by at noon the next day. I got to the room and it was 55 degrees. I tried to adjust it but it didn’t warm up and you have to notify them before 11pm to get help. I checked in after 1030. The light in the living room area didn’t work. The bed had 2 sheets and some kinda thin blanket. I froze. Tried taking a hot shower in the morning and it lasted about 5 mins before it was cold. I notified the valet at 1133 i needed my truck. I had to be at my event at noon. I received a text it wouldn’t be ready for 20 mins. I went to the valet at 1142 they hadn’t even gone to get it. I went to the front desk asked for a manager. None on the weekend. Complained about the hot water and valet and she suggested i ask them to walk me to my truck. Why valet?! Then she asked them, they said no that someone went to get it. My truck didn’t arrive until 1159. When i got back i parked down the street and had to pay $34. I had to walk nearly a mile back to the hotel. There was so much noise outside until the middle of the night. Music, traffic. The next morning after i checked out i had to make that nearly 1 mile walk with all my luggage. Never again will i stay at the hotel. The reviews on Expedia made it appear like a great choice. It’s not!!

The room was dirty and cold. They closed all restaurants and amenities. Valet was about a hour wait and $50. The tvs were about 32in without basic cable. The bed was gross as well as the whole hotel. The kitchen had 2 pans. No plates silverware cooking utensils and our fridge was broken. I feel misled by everything I was promised.

Excellent stay for a great price! Our double queen room wasn’t ready when we got there at 4pm so they put us in a suite! It’s not a new hotel by any means so there are some things they could use a quick touch up but overall it was a great hotel in a great location. We walked about a half mile or so to all the stuff we wanted to do. Highly recommended!

Staff at checkin were inefficient and not particularly friendly, not helpful, from the valets who were not on their game, to the front desk staff, barely helpful. Poor communication skills and lack of friendly greeting. Room was hot, we were told that maintenance would “reset” the unit, we left and returned at bedtime only to find no cool AC.
The second day I made the request, was told about a rooftop or something they would need to do, and we returned to find the room cooler.
Much deferred maintainance. Hotel needs to be updated. Carpet in elevator lobby had wrinkles, a fall hazard. All staff over two days showed zero interest in being hospitable. Bellhop did not hold door behind him when I tried to enter the building. Cars stacked at valet on checkin, easily could move to be helpful but no one wishing to be helpful. Even my husband noticed and commented. Microwave did not work, kitchen in the suite had no supplies, bath towels old and dingy/worn, only two at checkin.

So the hotel is fine, my issue was with booking through expedia. I arrived in Dallas (never been there) for a conference. I was a woman traveling solo and found out that they were overbooked when I arrived. I didn't even know hotels could do this. I sat in chairs at almost midnight trying to figure out what to do. I had been in chairs about 20 minutes trying to call expedia when the night clerk informed me that they had had a cancellation and could book me in. He said I was really lucky as the hotel is totally booked every weekend with folks going out to the bars etc as it is right downtown. While I was really grateful to have a room, I don't think I should have even been put in this position as I had booked several weeks before.

Check in was so fast, our room was huge and the view was gorgeous! We knew in advance there was only valet parking, but it was a shock to others so just beware it's busy valet & was I believe $49 a night. Once you're checked in with valet it's pretty smooth sailing though. Expect about an hour for
your car to be ready if you're checking out on a busy morning like Sunday. You can request your car via text while you pack up!

I had a bit of a restless night stay …due to the a/c unit not working properly…had the room service 2 times and no resolve …. The hallways were cooler then the room it’s self ..we left our room for an outing and came back a little late and maintenance services end by 11 pm. Definitely a bit disappointing that the hotel prides itself on being the first building with a/c and we can’t get it to work in the year 2026 .
