Set in 4 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, Hempstead House is a privately owned and run Victorian country house hotel, spa and restaurant surrounded by glorious Kent countryside. The luxurious ensuite bedrooms are individually designed, and the hotel boasts elegant reception rooms and 3 bar areas.
The classical Lakes Restaurant and the contemporary Brasserie offer award-winning food and professional but friendly service. The AquaManda Spa offers relaxation and leisure facilities including 15-metre swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and hydrotherapy pool.
Their outdoor plunge pool is open weather permitting between May and October. The fitness studio offers a range of classes, and there's a fully equipped state-of-the-art gym onsite.

Room was basic but clean. Staff helpful. Decent breakfast. Pool quite small and limited poolside chairs. Sauna room small. Jacuzzi was big and good pressure. Lakes restsurant had limited choice for vegetarian and no chicken or lamb dishes. Nothing nearby and the closest place to dine is Faversham.

The welcome from staff is always lovely and very clean.
My room was a wonderful size which was immaculate throughout. The bottled water is always nice to have along with ample biscuits, tea and coffee.
I like to go out to the cinema which is only an eight minute drive.
The breakfast was wonderful; smoked salmon and scrambled eggs cooked to perfection.
I didn't feel rushed and gladly took my time to saourr every delightful moment.
I visited the gym and sauna which were clean and tidy throughout. The extra bonas of the stay for me is that you really can make a full weekend of it as check-in at 3pm but you can arrive at any point of the day you are staying to use their amenities and the following day check-out is at 11am, but again, you can stay until 5pm!!
Delightful stay and so reasonably priced.
I shall vary much look forward to my stay again in the near future!

Expected a lot more from a spa hotel, rooms were clean. Unfortunately very dated and lacking that feeling of you’ve paid a bit more to stay somewhere nice, I feel it could do with some updating. I moved rooms from a superior to an executive as superior had a lot after boiler cupboard next door and I couldn’t sleep at all with the noise. There was not much difference in the standard of the rooms, I didn’t feel I would pay extra to book the executive and feel that the standard rooms may be as good as any others but I didn’t look in one. The bedding was not nice hotel quality white cotton sheets, it was dated and matching the headboard! I didn’t use spa facilities as was down visiting family so just using for sleeping and breakfast. If you like a spa then it’s worth staying as the use is included in the accommodation price,

Parking good, staff good, food good, although did try and charge an extra £10 on our mains, fortunately we noticed it!!! The bath plug wouldn’t work - thanks to the lady who tried to help. Pillows are tired - need replacing - a struggle to get to room because of stairs - fortunately I’m fit. Constant drone from somewhere which is annoying! Special thanks for the latte ready for our early start - much appreciated

Our stay at Hempstead House in Sittingbourne completely excelled against expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make everything absolutely perfect. Every single member of the team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly – you could really feel that they cared about making guests comfortable.

This is our second time here and again we loved the whole experience. Service is great, staff are friendly and it’s a lovely setting to relax. We made use of the outdoor pool facilities as the weather was lovely and then chilled out in the indoor pool area. All the food we had was lovely, and our room was beautiful and clean.

There are 2 dining areas, both offering good food choices and lots of outdoor seating in the Spa bar. Room is well equipped with a large bathroom with large bath and over bath shower. Lovely relaxing stay for one day
Wonderful place to stay with excellent staff willing to help all the time. Lovely old fashioned room in keeping with the old house and excellent spa facilities and new gym equipment. The hotel was dog-friendly and although not allowed in the restaurant, they are in the other food area near the spa and breakfast was served in a snug room with only one table so very private. Only issue was the very large bed had two separate matresses joined together, one mattress was lower and in really poor condition so didn't get much sleep. I would've requested a room change if staying another night. The grounds are lovely but maybe need some TLC in some areas. Overall really nice stay and would recommend.

Lovely hotel and facilities spa was fantastic. The only thing for me was the bed. The mattress was a little bit too soft and I am used to a hard mattress so give me backache in the morning. Staff were extremely helpful at all time, nothing was too much trouble. Room was amazing with comfortable bed and breakfast was lovely. We didn’t use the spa facilities but found the parts of the hotel we did use to be extremely clean and welcoming.

Pool Time Cut Over Easter Weekend
Its a lovely Hotel, beautifully furnished and well looked after reception rooms. Unfortunately, I, the paying guest for all 4 rooms for 2 nights over the Easter weekend, I received the awful room with a slowing ceiling right behind the end of the bed where I had to walk past all the time to get to the bathroom. In the night I had banged my head, forgetting about the sloped ceiling. But the staff gave me another room right away the next morning. I did not realize that the hotel is a dog Hotel and it seems that there are not dedicated rooms just for guests with dogs as I had I am allergic to dogs. Breakfast and dinners were excellent. The pool and Sauna & Steam room are very beautiful but the regulation that on the Easter weekend the pool was closed on Saturday and Sunday at 7 pm and on the public Holiday Monday even earlier at 6pm was very annoying. On normal days the polos stays open until 10 pm, it seems that the guests have not the privilege for staying at the hotel at special occasions to get the same service than at normal times of the years, due to staff payment.

I had a fabulous trip away for my birthday. This was the 3rd time coming here. The last time was 5 years ago for my 40th so thought I'd replicate it for my 45th. Both were solo trips. The pool is lovely, the massage and facial is booked were amazing and the afternoon tea was fabulous. The only downside was the dinner on my birthday. I'd stipulated it was my birthday on booking and been told they'd do something special for the dinner but other than a few sparkles on the table saying happy birthday it wasn't even acknowledged by any of the wait staff. The female staff couldn't even summon up a smile. (The male was friendlier but still not even a word about my birthday) I wasn't sure expecting much but just to be wished happy birthday would have been nice. 5 years ago I got a plate with petit fours and happy birthday written in chocolate but this time nothing. Had I not made a point of it being a birthday dinner would have been different but I had and been promised something. On the plus side the food was lovely. And the rosé wine was the best I've had in a long time. breakfasts were also good and freshly made with plenty of choice for both continental and cooked.

Had a beautiful solo stay here, I was in room 4 at the very top of the building, my room was beautifully accented and extremely comfortable with exquisite quality furnishings. The spa treatments are wonderful and I felt utterly pampered. All the staff are friendly, polite, welcoming and professional, the food although not all to my taste was of excellent quality and freshly prepared. Will be booking an afternoon tea here with friends as it looked delectable.

Long weekend stay
Enjoyed the hotels location and it was clean and tidy throughout. I wouldnt rate it as highly as other venues i have stayed at because it lacked some of the elements of a luxury hotel such as some of the staff seemed less helpful than others and the older side of the hotel could do with some tlc in places. A touch overpriced in my view but overall ok.

We stayed in the Ashby Suite which was spacious and beautiful. The only criticism I could make is the sofa bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. All mod cons in the kitchen and a lovely seating area. We have stayed many times in Hempstead House Hotel and it always exceeds expectation. This time we were in the original part of the hotel. The room was pristine and the amenities were very good. The surrounding gardens are lovely and although we didn't use the spa on this occasion, it looked beautiful and clean. The staff have always been friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. Dinner, which was served with a choice of two restaurants, both formal or more casual, was of an excellent standard. I would always return to this hotel when in the area.

The 'skeleton' has been totally transformed into an ultra-modern bar, restaurant and hotel, overlooking one of the yacht basins at the former Royal Naval Dockyard.
