The pictures of the hotel/room are outdated. We had a penthouse 3 bed room and this was in desperate need of an enhanced upgrade and clean.

The carpet up the stairs was dirty and worn, the blinds in the first floor double bedroom were broken and mouldy, there were no blinds in the downstairs bathroom and this meant the shower was in view of outside, the electric sockets at the side of the bed on the ground floor did not work, there was no hot water in the kitchen, kitchen hob was faulty and needed turning on and off to make it work, the corridors outside of our room was not cleaned for 3 days and was very dirty

The view was amazing, room a good size, washer and dryer in room

The rooms were much more dated than the pictures. We also found that the sheets were a little stained and just the edges of the rooms or doorways a bit rusty and dusty. Our shower also leaked so we had to have towels down to stop this. They also don’t come round daily to change towels/beds etc unless requested. In addition the wifi was awful. We were on floor 5 so unsure if this was the reason but in 2025 we should have working wifi…

The hotel had the air conditioner set at 23 degrees. We couldn’t adjust it. Maybe due to a malfunction our room was showing on the system that it was 27 Degrees. Uncomfortable nights sleep both nights. The staff member said that she would have someone look at it, but this didn’t happen. It was disappointing that the reception staff member couldn’t organise to adjust this for us. A simple lowering of the set temperature in the system would have maybe achieved an environment temp of 23/24.

Uncomfortable nights stay( both nights) Main room felt stagnant and stuffy. The hotel needs to sort their ducted air conditioning out. I have no problem with the hotel setting a temp at 23 degrees as long as that temp is achieved

It wasn't a serviced apartment but the detergents for dishwashing and clothes washing had half empty satchels. The staff were more than helpful to supply more. The dryer was very dusty in the vents.
The view was amazing and everything about it was comfortable. The Staff were extremely helpful. Some parking spots were very tight and a very steep driveway. Amenities are getting aged, no USB plugs on the PowerPoints.

The reception team were amazing on arrival and later in the week after a incident causing my Dad to have a fall. 100%.
My only negative is the general cleanliness of the rooms were fine, but the attention to detail is lacking. Not sure if this comes down to upper management not allocating appropriate time frames for more thorough cleaning.
Skirting boards were thick with dust and doors. Light fittings needed a deep clean even in the penthouse suite about the sink in main bedroom. The sink plug in kitchen didn't seal. Cutting boards were in need of replacement. The painted handrail at the bottom of the stairs was really dirty not been wiped down between guests. All these minor details can make or break a review.
Would I stay again Yes without elderly parents, as were were unaware of steep access to the property and if the attention to cleaning details and final touches were dramatically improved.
A very big Thank You to the reception and maintenance team. Your support for my Dad was amazing.

The location is walking distance to the Airlie port. But, it is 20 minutes walking to the center of the town to have more choices for restaurants and grocery store. The nearby Thai restaurant is expensive and dishes are not great but eatable. The hotel is very dated. The room smells muddy. The room we were staying was awful. All the cups and utensils were dusty. Room was not dusted well. Washer was moldy and smelling. I used my own alcohol wipes to clean the gasket. The first two sheets came out black. I reported to the front desk. They sent people to clean the washer but didn’t do anything to the cups and utensils nor bringing the extra towel set as they missed. We have two people in the room but they only put one set. It seems that they don’t care.

We had a lovely stay at The Sebel Airlie Beach. The apartment was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful ocean view. The girls at check-in were so friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression.

Be prepared for a bit of a hill when getting suitcases up and down, but it’s not a huge issue — and the location is great, only about a 10-minute walk to town. There aren’t too many food options immediately nearby, but town and the marina (perfect for day trips) are both very close.

Some areas, like the hallway to the room and parts of the bathroom, felt a little outdated, and it wasn’t the cleanest entrance outside the room, but overall it’s hard to fault much, especially for the price. A great value stay with lovely staff and a beautiful view!

The one bed apartment was excellent, lovely balcony and lovely view. Shower was a bit tricky up a couple of steps into jacuzzi bath. Would have been nice to have been nice to have some food/drink amenities on site, but Airlie beach was only 10-15 min walk away. The only issue is the extremely steep driveway up to reception. Bit of a hard slog dragging a 23kg case up! Some taxis would drive up the slope, so not an issue when coming back from having a meal .

Beautiful stay in Airlie Beach

Our family enjoyed our 3 night stay in a 2 bedroom ground floor apartment. It was clean, airy and bright, and had everything we needed including a kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Our room also had direct access to the heated pool. Upon booking, there was excellent communication provided by reception including quick confirmation of our stay, followed by informative messages regarding airport transfers, upgrades available and food options in Airlie Beach. Will return. Thank you.

We stayed at the Sebel and overall had a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the lift was out of service on the day we arrived, and with no alternative access available, we had to carry all our luggage up the fire escape stairs, which was a bit of a challenge.

That aside, the rest of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The facilities were well-maintained, and the location was great.

Everything was good except that you would have to walk up a steep hill and a steep driveway with all your bags and luggages. The bed was great for good night sleeps, location is about 10min walk into town. View is beautiful. You'll you have to get your groceries from downtown and walk it back or take the bus back.

The location and ocean view was very enjoyable. However, our one bedroom suite smelled extremely strongly of mildew/ mould. I alerted hotel administrators and requested a room change however the hotel only offered an ozone air purifier, which are not healthy and do not address the actual cause. When I stated I wasn’t comfortable with the ozone machine the hotel did not respond or offer any other resolution. Also note, that all the floors are tile so noise transfer from rooms above and beside is strong.

A great stay and a great location

We had a great stay and the apartment we had ( which had an amazingly sea view) was perfect for our needs. We had a small issue with our balcony and the problem was fixed within an hour which shows fabulous service from the staff. The reception staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The pool area and gym was also excellent.

The room was not as described. There was a damp smell. The room was full of dust. There was no lighting outside and my wife almost fell in the dark. The room m was extremely dated and there were many impractical spaces. For $1,000 a night it was extremely disappointing. There were no staff on site to address my concerns. I don’t usually write reviews, however, in this instance I feel the need to warn others. Misleading marketing. Very upset!

Worse place to stay don't stay here

This is one of the worst places I have stayed in Airlie Beach. I stay in this area twice a year so I have had better experience in places that cost a lot less.
1 the lifts weren't working so had to walk 6 levels
2 there was jackhammering going on out the back of the property loud enough to come through the property
3 no toilet paper not even a spare one in the carboard.
4 you could not open the washing machine door as they had a door halfway over it.
5 was then charged extra for an hour late check out when this should have been free they have mentioned that I would get a refund, I still waiting to hear from management on this as they are meant to be in contact with me.
6. the place is very old and needs upgrading
I would never stay at this place or recommend it. it's also not very convenient to the town area and not many restaurants nearby. There are better places to stay that are close to the restaurants and shops and are of better value for money. I don't believe the images are true images

Lovely fresh and clean room. Easy to organize late checkout with reception. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Only thing we encountered was doors repeatedly slamming on our last morning at 8 am every 30 seconds or so (seemed like someone was checking every room?) and on our last day housekeeping opened our door and called out housekeeping without knocking first which was alarming as we were just about to leave the bedroom in towels ready for a shower! Otherwise apart from those two minor things we had a lovely stay.

The entire hotel as a whole appeared to be decent. However, once we reached the room, it was noticeable immediately that the rooms are not maintained well. For example, the furniture is old, the baseboards are not washed, the bathroom vent was not cleaned well, the shower was rusty and many other noticeable areas that require improvement.

This property is overrated and did not appear as how it was advertised on expedia. Furthermore, the A/C unit was not working properly and unfortunately, it was etremely difficult to report this to front staff as they were not around after 7pm.

With the room itself, it was disappointing - the room did not meet the images used for marketing on expedia.

The property is very dated, rooms need to upgraded. Mould evident throughout the bathroom, stains all over the couch and chairs, stains on the bench tops, the shower floods the bathroom every time you shower and the rooms only get serviced if you stay 8 or more days. Choose another hotel.

Overall had a great stay, excellent location just outside of the main town, but across from the port. Only issue we had was on our final day when we had a member of staff barge into our room unannounced whilst i was in the shower. No knock at the door or any warning they were coming in. When checking out i raised this concern with the gentleman at the reception desk and all he seemed concerned with was that i was going to leave a negative review. I get it that mistakes happen, but when they do own them and don't give excuses that the staff member was newly hired etc. Its your responsibility to train your staff and make sure they understand issues around guests privacy. Overall was a great stay but this left a sour taste in my mouth

Fantastic view from the hotel to the ocean and rooms are very quiet. Good location with a short walk to marina, bus stops, 10 minutes walk to shops, cafe, restaurants and Woolies. Walking along the Boathouse path into town would be safer and relaxing than along the Shute harbour road.

The spacious areas of 1 bedroom apartment was excellent allowing us to really relax in the lounge area or on the furnished balcony overlooking the harbour and ocean. The rooms amenities were very satisfactory especially being able to wash and dry our clothes and towels. The staff were very friendly and helpful and walking to Airlie Beach township was an easy 10 minutes and lovely along the marina walking paths.
