Overall the deluxe room is excellent. Huge, modern and comfortable. The view over the Coral Sea is magnificent.
The general facilities need an upgrade. Lots of areas looking worn and in disrepair. Reception staff nice but need to brush up on their local knowledge. No one mentioned there is a bus stop on the main road to go into Main shopping strip, nor mention of the free shuttle from Airlie Beach Hotel which is super convenient.
In June, would be good if the pool was slightly heated.
Whispers restaurant has excellent food. Ate dinner there most nights.
Breakfast is pretty average.

We did late check in and the receptionist was mean, unhelpful , and he wanted us to go walking by ourselves and our bags to our appartments which is too far with no lights on the street even
Next day we asked for a new towels and water no one bring us anything
Until we called again third day we were very upset and disappointed.

Loved Mirage Whitsundays!
The apartment was spacious with fabulous view direct to the beautiful Airlie waterways. It was super clean and well provisioned with a range of teas and coffees. Undercover parking was plentiful and easy to access.
Loved the adults only pool... no kids yelling and bombing, hooray! Extra points for shallow stairs with a railing to facilitate access for guests with any joint issues.
The complimentary breakfast was great. Something for everyone. I went at different times and it was always well stocked and no dried up eggs or bacon, all fresh.
The only downside for me was that the couch was quite worn and very low... difficult to get comfy on and get off and up (those joint issues!).
Would highly recommend and happily stay here again!

We had a lovely, relaxing one-week stay at the Mirage. The location was great — only 3km from the city centre. There are shuttle buses into Airlie Beach at 10am, 12pm, and 2pm, though it would have been nice if they also offered a later shuttle around 4pm.

The buffet breakfast was simple but good. The only downside was that there weren’t many dinner options at the restaurant.

Staff were lovely and friendly.

Unfortunately, the room was not properly cleaned on arrival. The bathroom, shower recess, and toilet all needed a thorough clean with bleach. The rooms are also looking a little dated and could benefit from some updating.

Very big room with washing facilities and kitchen was great. The breakfast options are limited and you have to pay for coffee which is a bit of a let down in this day in age. The lagoon pool was enjoyable and the property and room were clean. They dont do a servicing during you stay which was a surprise but as you have washing facilities you can make do. The convenient access to the boardwalk along the seashore to Airlie was a nice to have, we used it every day.

Overall, our stay was decent, scoring a 7/10, though several aspects could be improved to elevate the guest experience.

Areas for Improvement:

· The buffet breakfast would benefit from a greater variety of options.
· In the Whisper Bar, we found the general staff demeanor could be more welcoming. One incident with a barista was particularly disappointing: she prepared my coffee with full-cream milk despite an order for an almond latte, then denied having received the original request. Only when the person who placed the order intervened did she agree to remake one of the coffees, insisting I would need to pay for a replacement for the other.
· Upon checking into Room 8, we noticed a persistent, strong mold odor. We resorted to using eucalyptus oils throughout our stay to mitigate the smell.
· The facilities feel somewhat outdated, which is understandable given the building's age, but some modernization would enhance comfort.

Exceptional Staff Recognition:
I would like to extend high praise to one staff member at the Whisper breakfast service. She has black curly hair with a fringe and often wears white scrunchies. She worked on 12/1/2026 morning on our last day. She stood out for being consistently respectful, empathetic, and warm in all our interactions. She truly represents a gold standard in hospitality.

Great accommodation in lovely surroundings. The apartment was as good if not better than website suggests. Two nice pools and a casual bar for drinks and meals.
Airlie Beach is great for shops, bars and restaurants. Whitsundays are wonderful and well worth the trip.

Really enjoyed our stay, room was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean with ocean views - magical.. Only compliants - the very noisy shower screen on opening and closing, maybe the hinge needs replacing, lounge suite very uncomfortable and the whole complex had no water just as we all needed to get ready for a function, but would definitely stay again, loved it.

Overall service staff was great. The resort views, room size, and location were excellent. I would recommend a stay to anyone. Opportunity areas are to mix up breakfast so it is not exactly the same every day (Maybe pancakes, then waffles, then french toast or mix up the fruits available) it is tad underwhelming if staying more than a few days. Include a coffee from the espresso machine as an upgrade (Everywhere else we traveled in Australia included a coffee to order). Include napkins, paper towels or sufficient towels in the rooms. We had to bootleg napkins from breakfast every day. The QR code did not always work forcing us to order in person for take away. These are not deal breakers just minor items. I would stay again any time.

The views from the property were absolutely beautiful, and the facilities overall were really nice. Our villa had a private pool, which was lovely, but the water feature was turned off as some guests had complained about the noise — which I thought was a bit of a shame, as it would’ve added to the relaxing atmosphere.

The maintenance guy, Sam, was amazing! He was friendly, helpful, and always went out of his way to make sure we were looked after. He gave us great tips on places to visit and things to do, and always greeted us with a smile.

On the downside, the villa itself was quite dated and could use a really good clean. There were food marks on the walls, stains on the lounges and curtains, and even a cockroach in our room when we arrived. The windows were also very dirty, though that might be due to being right by the sea.

Overall, it’s a beautiful location with great facilities and standout staff like Sam, but the cleanliness and maintenance of the villas could definitely be improved.

Wow what an amazing property. Stayed in a 2 bedroom ocean front apartment overlooking the water. The photos on their website don’t do justice to this stunningly huge modern apartment. It has the biggest open plan living, 2 massive bedrooms each with its own bathroom and a laundry.

There are 3 pool areas, cooked breakfast daily, restaurant& bar area where they can serve you drinks by the pool. You also get free undercover parking.

There’s a boardwalk to town ( about 15-20 minute walk) or a closer shopping precinct including Coles about 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction.

The Chinese restaurant that’s a 5 minute walk is a MUST do.

The staff members were extremely kind and helpful! We enjoyed the beachside walk from the property to the town every day (about 20–30 minutes one way). For those not so keen on walking, they provide a complimentary shuttle service daily at 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm. We preferred a quiet area, so Mirage was perfect. The view from the apartment was stunning.

This was probably a very nice property when initially built. But significant amounts of deferred maintenance were visible around the property and inside the unit. Leaky faucets, musty smell in the shower, dark grout lines, a thumping noise from the water heater, ants all over the balcony, shed snake skin (python?) in the walkway, bird droppings on handrail/, and debris accumulating on the seats/loungers by the pool, just to name a few. Staff were nice and friendly.

Impressed by the size of the 2 bed apmt we booked. Had all the facilities we needed. Lovely view. The only thing I would say we did not enjoy was the mattresses. They were too soft. Someone should take a look into it, even the children found it too soft. Perhaps leave a vacuum also somewhere in the laundry area as its otherwise difficult to keep it clean with sand from the beach and when housekeeping is non existent!

If you don’t have a car then it’s a little far to walk into airlie beach centre especially if there is a chance of rain. My only gripe is that the included breakfast does not include coffee!!! I struggled to get over this, it annoyed me each and every morning.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it was truly one of the best experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how well-maintained the property was. The staff greeted me with warmth and professionalism, making the check-in process seamless and easy.

The room was an absolute delight – spacious, clean, and with a design that balanced modern luxury with a homely touch. The highlight for me, however, was the balcony that led directly to the hotel’s stunning swimming pool. Imagine waking up and stepping out onto your balcony, the fresh air, the gentle sound of water, and the view of the sparkling pool right in front of you. It was the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy a refreshing dip whenever I wanted.

What really set this place apart was the overall ambiance. There was a sense of peace and tranquility that made the hotel feel like a personal retreat. Every detail, from the lush greenery surrounding the pool to the thoughtful amenities in the room, contributed to making my stay unforgettable.

The location was also ideal, with easy access to local attractions and dining options, but the hotel itself was so comfortable that I found myself often choosing to stay and enjoy the on-site amenities.

Firstly the pre-booked transport forgot to pick me up. The local airport closes at 4pm, I had to stressfully arrange another transfer as taxi’s do not do trips to the airport.

The room overall was very warn and felt like it needed a good amount of work to bring it back to a 4* standard. Broken shutters, rail fell off and the overall room felt well used with chips and dents in the paintwork. Furniture also was tired and needed a good cleaning.

I stayed for 3 nights and was happy when i left. Staff were friendly and the shuttle was great to get to Airlie beach as the walk was 15/20 minutes in humid conditions or rain
