Terrible, $300 a night for a room that had a thick coating of dust on every surface, and is well overdue for renovation or even basic maintenance. Our bathroom sink drain had its own life forms growing due to lack of sanitary care, along with black scum stains in the toilet, floors showing signs of black mould forming in areas as well as a shower that had been poorly repaired with a second floor that was spongey and oozed mould and unpleasantries during showering. We planned to cook in our room, but was left watching the butter set in the pan due to lack of function from the stove. Advertised with a spa, one of the jets fell out on first use, lucky we are DIY minded and re secured it. Bed time was the equivalent of inhaling a mouth full of dryer lint due to the poorly cleaned bedding, with a nice view of it drifting into the air under the modern LED lamps. The quality standards advertised for this hotel are definitely not being followed and even after cutting our holiday short by 3 nights, no longer being able to tolerate dust allergies and health concerns from the state of the bathroom, the discounted price we were eventually offered from our complaint to staff was still robbery for the state of accommodation provided. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Not on the Waterfront.
Dirty, poorly maintained what seemed to be since 1960’s.
Site manager not on site and whinged she was overworked and that was reason (and covid) why she could not get staff to clean and change bedding and towels. Beds and towels were only changed twice, and fresh towels brought up by the maintenance man once.
No room cleaning, Curtain clips missing, Lounge TV close to the ceiling and uncomfortable to watch.
Extreme and constant road noise and no balcony blinds to shade the Eastern sunrise.
Balcony spa full of debris, not working and no instructions.
Master bedroom had walk in No-robes. There was a chest of drawers and nowhere to hang garments. The maintenance man helpfully made a hanging rail using two milk crates, planks of wood and a top rail. We used that for the 5 days.

Electrical cables were all over the place and powerboards were overloaded. Would not recommend this hotel

Great location. Room quite dated for price. Cleaning needs to be stepped up in bathroom and public areas. No Austar remote, vertical blind had missing panel which was on chair. Dont think staff remembered to put back up, so i did, and it stayed there. Glass basin in bathroom really needs further attention, with cleaning. As it has many stains that doesnt look to appealing and quiet gross really. Rest of room was ok.

We made the mistake of thinking this was an apartment but it was a suite- one big room and bathroom so it was smaller than expected. Bed and armchair were very comfortable, location was convenient and it was a bonus to have washer and dryer. We were on ground floor so it was great to step out to pool which we were lucky to have to ourselves. Being only one of four suites in the complex was great if you want privacy. Room definitely wasn’t luxury as it felt cluttered with old style speakers for outdated iPod and mobile phones on bedside table. Nowhere to put personal belongings as no drawers in bedside tables. Shelf above the television displayed unsightly cords and devices such as old game consoles, DVD player etc. Suite didn’t have Foxtel or hairdryer as advertised. Television batteries on remote were flat. The room smelt of cigarettes and the outdoor area needed a good clean. With a few simple updates, this suite could definitely be improved. Check in and out process was easy with friendly staff.

Spa bath had hairs inside - no hygienically cleaned sticker either present, cigarette butts on balcony, sliding door to balcony didn’t lock, shower screen door didn’t shut, water everywhere in bathroom and limited hot water in shower. Shower hot water lasted 2 minutes then goes cold, flow of water very poor. Had to run hot water in kitchen sink to maintain hot water in shower, otherwise it goes cold. Called to complain, maintenance man sent, but couldn’t fix. We had to put up with this. This is not a cheap place to stay and expected better. This resort has no on site staff, other than part time cleaner. Managed by sister resort next door. In need of some general maintenance and TLC.
Other than that, outdoor pool was great, location great, bed was extremely comfortable.

A Nice property

This has been a very nice property, and still is quite nice. It's spacious, king size bed, great air con, lounge seating, an ergonomic type chair, a spa on the balcony nice kitchenette with full size frig and nice bathroom. Whilst it is fitted out with quality inclusions, it does show its age. However, one could comfortably live here! There is undercover parking. Note, there is no lift , stairs only.

Do not stay! Terrible!

Do not stay at this LUXURY SPA RETREAT. Our luxury spa suite 5 was filthy, dated and the traffic noise was none stop day and night. There is nothing luxury or peaceful about this place. The bathroom is dirty and the door frame is rotten (see photo) the basin was only cleaned on our last day because we had complained and the toilet seat is stained (see photo) and tacky to sit on. The shower enclosure is rotten with mould and grime. The dead fly in the corner that was on the floor when we arrived was still there languishing when we left a week later!
The poorly equipped kitchen comprised of a 2 ringed hot plate that takes ages to heat up and there is no cooker, but the kitchen does come complete with tiny insects ( they look like weavels) that run all over the work top, draining board and the drawer where all the dishes are. Food can’t be left for a second as they will be running on it. There is a good sized fridge freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster.
The lounge area is covered in dust around the edges and the bed side lamp has so much dust on you can draw pictures in it.
The balcony is extremely dirty and stained and it doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned for months (see photo). There is a spa bath in the corner but that too was grimy with a loose tap fitting. Nothing romantic about lying in a spa bath on a grubby balcony on a busy road.
You also need to be a mountain goat to actually get up to the accommodation and dragging your suitcase up is almost impossible.

It is not quite the waterfront or the retreat as the title suggests. It’s got some good little comforts such as a spa (although not as big as the one pictured on site) and is serviced daily. Wouldn’t recommend to stay here if you don’t have a car. Constant noise from very busy road, uphill to the main town centre and whilst the waterfront restaurants are just across the road there is no access over a large drain so you have to walk a kilometre down the busy road and back again to get to anything. The pool area looked nice and would be lovely in summer. The bathroom was very small with not much room to put your own toiletries and clean clothes to change in etc.

This apartment is well appointed and short walk to hub of Airlie and the Port. Restaurants etc close by.Room very clean, plenty of fresh towels and bathroom supplies. Spa on balcony was lovely to enjoy every evening. Road can get a little noisy at peak times but otherwise ok.Breakfast was included in our deal, it is only a continental style breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay and ex value for money. Ample free parking if you have a car.

One of the worst 'hotels' we have ever stayed in, how you can describe it as luxury is a joke. Our room had a broken bedside drawer & broken wire basket in the wardrobe, which we were told would be fixed, but never happened. All the furniture was old & needed replacing, including the bathroom floor which was filthy. We supposedly booked a luxury spa suite which included breakfast & had a private beach - we were told by the very disinterested receptionist that we were self catering & said 'what beach?' We phoned Expedia who agreed we should have had breakfast& would contact the hotel & come back within 24/48 hours - we are still waiting 4 days later!! A very disappointing holiday, will not book with Expedia again.

I booked a balcony room but was given the ground floor. The outdoor private spa bath was discoloured , stained and was not appealing for use. The kitchen sink tap was completely loose, a five min maint task. The bathroom pedastal had rusty feet and was run down. The bathroom had no air vent and steamed up very quickly. A small window is available, but be prepared to be overlooked by the cleaning lady running the laundry through right outside the window, where you can smile at each other. The fridge was considered overstocked with minibar items, leaving little room but was very reasonably priced. Free breakfast as advertised was not an option. Several Electrical cables stuffed behind the wall mounted TV into the extension board from a single output. On first impression the room looked nice but it was clear it hadn't received any maintenance in some time. Definitely not 4 star, 2-3 at best.

2 friends not a couple arrived to a king bed, then got an unacceptable divan, taps in disrepair.
Booking agent told us it was a new, quiet complex with large units and sleeping for two individual people would be accommodated as it slept four not correct. It was old and small with plumbing maintenance well overdue, the spa was disappointing, the bottom peeling off - not at all inviting. This is unit is only suited for a couple. The staff were very nice.

Quiet location walking distance to centre, cafes and the only local bar we found closed early so no where to eat/drink on arrival Fri night at 8.30pm.

Suited more for business traveller than tourist.

+Great room like an apartment.
-Upon arrival we offered to pay extra to book the penthouse but were told it was reserved mid week. Every night for five days it sat empty and dark. Why wouldn't they take our money? Guessed it was too much trouble...
-We saw a woman who wasn't staying there sunning herself by the pool.
-We were told the windows looking in from the pool were mirrored but you could see right in. One night, we saw a figure come into the pool area in the middle of the night. Felt insecure.
-The BBQ outside wasn't functional.

Charges was very high according to place. This little far from all facility ecapt cruise service.
They have charge lot of money because of breakfast but in breakfast it was only a muffin, a small juice , small milk.
With the cleaning they didnt clean the room after first night and even reception didnt tell us any thing that why they didnt clean and provide new towels.
I will recommend not to go in this one.it's nothing than wasting of money for this low type of service.

The spa suite we stayed in was spacious with a large TV, Austar & DVD player.
The horizon pool was refreshing and offered good views of the marina and surrounds
The only disappointing aspect was the air conditioning which even on the lowest speed blew freezing air onto the bed when set at 22° C and it was too hot to not have on. We couldn't find a way to direct it away from the bed.

Small block of apartments, billed as luxury but pretty average really. Bathroom was appalling. Pool was so cold you couldn't stay in it. Cooking facilities were very limited - one small fry pan to cook with on a very small hotplate that barely got warm. Staff were nice, free WiFi was a plus although had great trouble getting it going. Free breakfast packs were also a welcome plus. Stayed 2 nights then moved to the Mantra Boathouse across the road which was vastly superior and only an extra $20 a night.

It's more of an apartment than a hotel room, complete with small kitchen, super comfortable bed, and tub on the balcony (1 option we wanted). With only 6 rooms total, it's a quiet place. I'd definitely stay here again, very friendly and trustful staff too.

Lovely Hotel

This experience was awesome, from the first time we walked into reception the service was spot on. Kim was great, willing to help out with tours we can do (booking & advice) etc. Our hotel was lovely, very spacious and a nice view too. Very comfortable and close enough to town to walk. Would definitely stay there again.

didn't live up to standard described on wotif - certainly not luxury. Good standard accommodation. shower leaked, bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better. Nice easy stroll into town. Limited access to staff - luckily we didn't need anyone.

Great boutique hotel.

We stayed here last week for three nights and it was exactly as expected. It is a lovely small hitel with great ammenities. The spa on the balcony is a nice touch, the room was well appointed with a nice comfy king bed. The infinity pool is a great size and overall a great place and we would come back again.

Well there wasn't to much special about the penthouse... Spa water was almost green, iron was locked away in a room we couldn't get to, breakfast packs which were meant to be in the room weren't, main king bed was broken, everything was old and a lot was moldy, after a little bit of rain the stairs were so slippery my partner fell down and buried his back and arm and the overall up keep of the hotel wasn't very good

Lovely!

We felt a little daunted about staying after reading some of the poor reviews, but to our delight, the room was just lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was very large and the air conditioning worked very well during the hottest weekend recorded in the region for many years. The pool was beautiful - very cool, clean and a fabulous view. The kitchen was very functional and the full sized fridge offered plenty of room for our groceries. The bathroom cabinet was old and needed replacing, but it was functional and made no difference to our enjoyment of the room. It is a short walk to down town Airlie, but in the strong heat, it felt further. We had a ground level room and the spa on the front veranda was clean and large. Although the spa area is surrounded by glass, it is tinted, and difficult to see through from the outside - so no privacy problems there. Overall, we thought this was a beautiful, clean, cool and well priced place to stay and we will happily return.

Just perfect.

Connor at the front desk was amazing and so helpful, we're frequest visitors to Airlie and they were the best hotel we've found. I had issues with my card trying to pay and he kept our room for us and helped as much as possible. I loved it.

Close to shops & boat terminal to islands.

Great location. Close flattish walk to shops & right across the road to boat terminal to islands.
Our unit 4 was great. Good free wifi. Nice pool. All construction over the road was finished and not an issue. The view looked over the boat terminal. Kitchen & spa were good. No odd smells. Plenty of tv channels and Wii console. Only thing that could have been better was unit4's balustrade's glass was dirty from acid wash from unit above. We went for our 25th wedding anniversary and had a great time. Nice that guests have to be over 17.
