Great views! A good short hike up and down a hill if you enjoy hikes.(?) Lots of space in units. AC worked well. Pool was wonderful. Take advantage of the property arranging transportation to and from airport!!

Sea Star Apartments were amazing. We had a 3 bedroom apartment for 2 adults and 3 children. Staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, lots of space, comfortable bedding, all appliences worked inc air con, dishwasher, washing machine. The apartment had everything needed to be self contained. We will be back.

The apartment was huge with great views and really good A/C. Had everything we could possibly need. Only downside was the hike up to it from Airlie beach as we were on foot! Something to consider if you don’t have a car or struggle with steep inclines. Other than that 10/10 we would stay again!

Had to walk up a huge hill with luggage because transportation couldn't go up the hill. At reception on arrival it was closed. Keys to room were not in box as explained. Sat on luggage till manager came to help us and he didn't even say sorry. In fact we were an inconvenience. Wallet was left in room upon departure and we were told it wasn't there. After several calls over next day the wallet mysteriously never showed up. But credit card was used at McDonalds. So unhelpful. Promised calls back and nobody followed up. So unhelpful. The view was amazing and the rooms were ok. Master shower leaked all over the bathroom floor after every use. Not enough towels provided. Drawer in closet was literally broken and hanging off. The washing machine smelt awful. Would not recommend at all!!!

Has a fantastic view of the Coral Sea @ Airlie Beach. Unlucky can't enjoy it fully due to cyclone. Very big and spacious 3BHK apartment. Host was wonderful and gave us a late checkout considering flight delays. Gave a courtesy buggy drop to the shuttle bus. The pool with a overflowing ledge view to the sea was wonderful. enjoyed it in pouring cyclonic wind and rain still.

The room was nice, well furnished. The view was beautiful, and had a nice outdoor table to relax at.
There was confusion upon booking, as I booked for 2 adults and a 12yo child, but the room came as one bedroom, so only 1 bed. Our 12yo daughter slept on the lounge, but I feel this is a booking agency trick, not the complex fault.
Overall we had a very enjoyable experience.

Lots of space in apartment.
Needs updating in some areas. Oven is not easy to use.
Hot tub was a nice extra but the door was very stiff and everything looked worn out.
Didn’t smell that clean when we went in.
Staff were friendly and when there was anissue with the toilet cistern they sent a plummer the next day.
Advertised with use of pool and bbq but when we got there they were doing maintenance so we couldn’t use either.
Views were amazing as very high up but a long walk up and down hill.

I would stay again but...

The apartment itself was outstanding: far better than pictures online! The views and balcony were tremendous, and the facilities were brilliant. We had plenty of room, and were very comfortable.

Downsides were two main factors: the WiFi was extremely weak, which was frustrating as we had hoped to put Netflix on to drown out the noise of the karaoke bar nearby, which was quite loud. Also worth noting that the hill to climb back up to the property is brutal! Not for older or young kids...we struggled, and we're in our 30s!

Despite the above I would stay here again for it's location, amenities, and price. The woman on check out (possibly the owner?) was really lovely and helpful, too.

Amazing view!

Great location not far from the town centre although it's a steep uphill hike if you have physical challenges that prevent you from walking uphill/downhill.

The view from Sea Star is amazing, especially from the penthouse which has sweeping views of the bay.

Would highly recommend the penthouse and Sea Star apartments in general.

It was comfortable, but the property was a bit old. The bed was comfortable, which is the main thing. The furniture needs updating a bit. I don't believe the pool picture reflects the property too well

Leslie and Steve were perfect hosts, available yet non-invasive. Apartment was huge and clean with great aircon and fans if required. Walking distance to Main St and the lagoon but it's a feisty climb back up the hill. Some lighting along the very steep driveway would be good for pedestrians and drivers alike, who must share the private road. Would return and recommend to others.

Great views, basic accommodation.

Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays is a great destination. Sea Star apartments have fantastic views. But the property itself is pretty basic and the interiors are quite dated. While it is listed (e.g. on Google Maps) as a 4 star hotel, it is in fact a set of apartments with few of the amenities that one would expect in a hotel.
If you have a car and are used to self catering, it’s fine. But without a car, you have to rely on taxis from the center of town. Walking down the steep hill is no problem, but walking up is tough; you will be breathing hard and drenched with sweat. And note, if you have any mobility issues, you absolutely cannot stay there.
I gave 4 stars because the views are fantastic, the apartment was clean and well kept, we are fit and don’t mind walking up hills, and we didn’t expect a fancy hotel. But do be prepared if you select this property.

The room was huge, with a great balcony with great view
The only complaint was bed mattress seemed to slope and no dishcloth to wipe benches. Toiletries supplied was one tube shampoo and one tube bodywash for 2 ppl, staff very friendly

The view was lovely . Our accommodation was spotless and had everything we needed . Staff were very helpful. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a comfortable , reasonably priced stay . It is an easy walk to shops and restaurants but an uphill climb on the way back !

The apartment has basic features and a view of million $. Because the pool water was always cold, we enjoyed solitude at the place every time! Only downside was a very loud car leaving every morning before 7 am which was not ideal!
Wonderful place otherwise. Staff was quite responsive regarding a minor hot water shortage, which self resolved. Thank you!

These apartments are great!
They are up a large hill and quite a distance from the town so we were glad we had a car!
The views were fabulous.

Cons: Ideally need a car for this accommodation(very steep hill to approach). Cleaning needs to be more thorough ie bathrooms around taps, shower screens and floors (sorry we are particular, photos available)

The views are incredible! Apartments are spacious and very clean and well maintained. If you have heavy luggage it is difficult as there is no lift. We found the hot water to be only luke warm in the shower. We had a great stay.

Where we stayed & the appartments was great, but if this can get relayed to the local council, it was disappointing in the amount of rubbish that was washed up on Airlie beaches, it seems that they don't get cleaned by the councils as i didn't see any in the mornings. It's a shame as this area prides on the Reef & beaches.

Unfortunate Day for Us

Me and my mum arrived Sea Star Apartment at 9pm to check in and were told by staff that there was actually no room available and he was surprised too that we were able to book one..!!? He also wasn't aware of our booking, went to check his computer in the office to realise it. He said luckily there was one room checked out early that night so he just needed to clean the room for us. It took him an hour then we finally got the room at 10pm (poor mum!). Didn't wanna make a big deal about it because it was already late night and we had a cruise trip next day morning at 7am (other hotels around there were fully booked too). The only good thing was the room was pretty big for just the two of us.

Great value with stnning views.

Out very first trip to Airlie and we loved it! Sea Star appartments was amazing, stunning views that made our trip so much worth it. The kids loved the feathered visitors at bfast that kept them entertained for a couple of minutes every day. Although the main tv unit did not work it was great getting the kids off the electronics to read a book with the amazing view.

service was not up to scratch, room is very dated. Very spacious, great location excellent view. But the place is a little run down and service was less than standard. Office not open weekends after 12, but we were not told. Massive hill to traverse (I can accept this considering the views) service was minimal and inconsistent.

It was a great stay. The apartment is spacious and has all amenities and has a coffee machine and a washing machine and a dryer. View is amazing from the room. We had an issue with the washing machine and the managers fixed it the next morning.

Friendly staff.

Comfortable bed and clean , close to everything and would definitely recommend to stay.

The room does need an update, just annoying little things, but still functional.

Carparking not great, there are spots to park but limited, you may not get a spot to park if their all taken.
The car port for our room was used as storage so we were reliant on uncovered parking.

Steep Roads Mean Stunning Views!

A lovely very spacious apartment (if just a little dated) with a gorgeous view from the kitchen lounge and bedroom. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Checkin was ok but we weren’t given any information on Airlie or even told where the pool or barbecue areas were.......trivial issues so no big deal on that one. The apartment block is up a very steep road which allows for the stunning views but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that doesn’t like hills or walking As a couple that gym most days this was perfect for us as we used the steep hills as our cardio. The pool spa and bbq area was good although while we were there the spa wasn’t working. A nice 10 minute (if that) walk from the centre of Airlie with amazing views.

Great spot and nice apartment. Very spacious with a fantastic view. The units are on a quite a steep hill but if you walk down and can't handle the walk up, there are lots of taxis for less than $10 (or drive). Airley Beach itself was fantastic, we hope to come back soon. We would stay here again

Great views, clean and spacious apartment, quiet location and above all very accommodating staff (e.g. helped us book tours, late check out, provided additional linen when requested, assigned a room at a building with lifts for my pregnant wife). Can't be thankful enough for the experience. Give Airlie Beach and this place some serious thought if planning a holiday in Queensland.

Loved the view of the property, communication with the hosts and the short drive to the town centre. However, we were looking forward to the pool and spa, however the pool was not maintained, and was very cold. Furthermore, the spa did not work and started overflowing with cold water. Pool & Spa definitely needs fixing by the owners.
