I guess you get what you pay for, however if you can’t supply hot water supply in the shower or sink , provide boiling water for coffee and tea at breakfast buffet or hot beans what hope is there. Two nice members of staff, one terrible and the rest average.

My stay at the hotel was wonderful! The room was very clean and well-maintained, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The garden with the pool was beautiful. Another great advantage was how close the hotel was to all the attractions in Airlie Beach. I had everything within easy reach. I truly hope to return one day! Highly recommended!

We booked a room for two nights on our week long road trip from Brisbane to Airlie Beach. The room was exactly what we expected and ideal for two nights, which enabled us to explore the area. The free breakfast at this hotel was an added bonus and the hotel was very convenient to walk into the centre of town.

The Colonial Palm Motor Inn is a basic amenities property but clean and well maintained. It's bare bones but comfortable. If you need a good night's sleep a little walk away from the party center of town, with really nice views - this is a really good option but don't expect too much in terms of luxury. It's not backpacker level either - just a clean, well tended basic motel suitable for a family holiday.

We stayed at Colonial Palms for 3 nights. We were extremely unhappy with our experience. We felt disgusted when we walked in to the room. Cleanliness standard was so low. The bathroom towels had yellow stains all over it. We didn’t use them throughout our stay!

I communicated all these issues with the front desk but the lady had an attitude kept rolling her eyes at me the whole time. I showed her the stains and dead insects and she rudely told me “you are in nature”! She said black stain is because of the area’s water. I did not see the black stain anywhere else in toilets in Arlie beach!

A nice hotel which we enjoyed staying at. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast of cereals, juice, croissants, breads, yogurt, and fruits. Nice view from our room and breakfast area. Pools were very pretty, but we did not use as we were swimming in the ocean all the time. It’s a little out of the main area of town, maybe 10 minutes walking. There is a local bus which cost 1 Australian dollar to use all day if you don’t want to walk. Only issue we had was our door blind to the balcony would not close, but it wasn’t a problem for us. No elevator, so if you have mobility issues ask for a ground floor room.

We were greeted by Georgie at reception, who is amazing, our check in took seconds, our room was great and the bed was so comfortable, we had a delicious meal in the restaurant served to us by Maéve. Breakfast was delicious. Summer was on reception when we checked out. The Colonial Palms is a great little place with fantastic staff who are there to help you at the drop of a hat! We will be returning to this charming property.

An older motel but still with some water views. Situated just a short 5min walk from town and not uphill. 2 pools which both looked nice although too cold to try at the time. Include breakfast is only very basic continental however other option available to purchase. Did not dine in the restaurant but menu looked okay.
