Very comfortable, clean, upstairs apartment with all the amenities in a very central location. Free parking outside and fast wifi. We especially appreciated the availability of a washer and dryer. Could have done with a hand towel for each guest, some kitchen paper towel and a towel in the kitchen

Lovely roomy apartment. It had everything you would need however the clothes lines were broken and needed replacing. The pool area is lovely and it is very close to the beach but far away from Port Douglas town centre.

If you are downstairs,you hear everything that happens in the unit above you ,even someone on the toilet .Our unit was very tired ,needing a makeover ,oven door didn’t shut ,range hood broken.Not what we expected.

First family holiday with a 1.5 year old and this place was perfect. Spacious 2 bedroom unit, everything we needed to cook and keep up with washing. Pool was a hit with the little one as well as the wildlife in the beautiful gardens. Management of resort were great to communicate with. Would stay here again!

First time travelling on my own and the staff here made it feel safe and secure. Front reception welcomed me with kindness and showed me local areas for food and coffee while I was there. I was greeted with lots of information on the area. The apartment was beautifully kept and clean. Loved staying here and would definitely recommend to friends and would stay here again.

We stayed toward the back end of the property and it was lovely and quiet, great sized 2 bedroom unit overlooking the tennis court and some of the pool. The pool was amazing, large and perfect for my 2 children, 6 and 10. It also had a good sized undercover area where you could sit under to keep an eye on them, otherwise there was a large amount of grassed area with lounges and umbrellas. Even though the units were all full, it definitely didn't seem overcrowded or noisy. Often we had the pool all to ourselves. we had to pay to hire tennis court, and even though it was a very small fee, it would have been good it that was included as part of your stay. It was a great family friendly accommodation and we would return here again. We had a car, so that made it easy to travel the 5-6 minute drive into town for meals or for day trips. So if you plan to stay here without a car, there isn't a lot within waking distance. Overall, we were very happy and had a very enjoyable stay.

The apartment is in need of some refurbishment. The bathroom door in particular is in urgent need of replacement. There are so many apartments available for holiday makers it is increasingly competitive and attention to detail is important to remain competitive.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment.
The complex was quiet and very close to everything.
The apartment was very clean, extremely spacious and well equipped.
Check in was very easy and we were given a late checkout that was very much appreciated. Reception staff were very friendly and obliging.
I would highly recommend this resort/apartment for a stay.

Note: this property actually does have a front desk, despite what the description says. They also leave the keys out for you if you are checking in late etc.

Good location, short drive to port douglas city area. Overall was happy with the stay, however wasn't the greatest in terms of cleanliness ie carpets had stains, place was quite old. There weren't enough utensils (eg only 5 spoons) and no basic items like salt and pepper. Also should mentioned the apartments are not serviced, so no daily cleans or daily towel replacements.

The staff are very friendly, the place is quite and very close to the beach. Also has foxtel, so plenty of TV channels to watch when unwinding at night. The overall experience was good, would recommend this place!

Great place.

10 min leisurely walk to beach which has fantastic sunrises. 10min walk to a pub that serves delicious meals and you'll get value for money. We ate a meal at the habour which was OK but very pricey and the wine was extremely expensive. We would go back to the pub anytime. The managers at Nimrod are friendly, very helpful and the best tourist guides. The accommodation was clean, spacious and very comfortable. We had five adults in a three bedroom unit. The extra toilet was appreciated. The one bathroom worked for us. I will definitely be going back.

We had a bad experience in another apartment in port Douglas so finding this place wth friendly faces to greet us ,very clean rooms , relaxing atmosphere ,very large 2 bed apartment with a beautiful pool ...it was just what we needed . We will return to this lovely place next to the beautiful beach again.

Great holiday on a very comfortable budget

We cant fault Nimrod at all. Apartment was perfectly equiped for self catered 10 day stay.

#1 for grown ups: Beds r super comfy.

All was clean. Sure, it's not a modern Sheraton/Pullmans, but it's far more relaxing to let your children roam free in.

Pool and tennis court were perfect for our active 8 and 10 yr olds.

It was quiet in that guests were pretty conscientious as sound carries- apart from us!

Close to beach, supermarket and wildlife park.

We had a car which made life easy.

TV access was welcome as let the children beg out a bit.

Actually, Nimrod helped make our family holiday the best in years.

The management were extremely friendly and more than helpful and informative. The unit was clean and OK in general, but a bit tired. Also not all buttons on the TV remote worked and the clothes dryer was extremely noisy. Would be great if there was more crockery for our use. A heated spa would have been better too-but that just might be north Qld.

Not such a great experience

Unfortunately our unit no 25 wasn,t very clean and everything in it was old and dated including the furniture,artwork appliances and all the crockery etc. lt did have some major problems that could have been very dangerous to anyone staying there. l,m not going to say to much about the experince of staying there due to the the response of the managers. When we left after 6 nights we told Sue all about the problems she said we should of mentioned it beforehand and we would have been moved immediately . We naturally thought all the units were the same. l booked this unit because of the great reviews on Wotif. However after looking at all the problems Sue sent me an email to let me know that the unit was getting a complete makeover the cleaners were spending the day in it plus all the old worn out things were all thrown out and the builders were fixing the problems that l outlined. Not many managers do this most don,t care thinking we,ll never see them again anyway. She offered us 2 free nights in a deluxe unit which was nice, l would like to experience a stay there is better conditions. The pool area is lovely very well maintained and the unit complex is nice and quiet.

Disappointed with apartment compared to pictures online. Room had room for 6 to sleep but only 4 chairs in lounge area and kitchen was also not equipped for the number of people staying in the apartment. For example, in a six person 3 bedroom apartment there were only 5 plates and small saucepans/cooking equipment which isn't very practical for a larger group. Very nice pool and staff though.

OK but not up to a standard I was expected.

It suit for a short trips like 2-3 nights but if you are planning to stay longer than that, I would recommend to choose other apartments. We requested the fresh towels from the owner and he said he will be able to provide us in the midst of our stay. We haven't received the towels and asked them from the reception and we were told that they couldn't provide that.
We have been to a couple of service apartments in Victoria, Queensland and NSW. Nimrod is the first apartment that told us that they couldn't clean the room during our 8 nights of stay or provide the towels or even the toilet papers.

At first glance appearance from advertisement to reality a little disappointing ( definitely photos taken a while ago) but quiet, spacious apartment ...good base for couple spending most time exploring surrounding district and tourist attractions... complimentary bathroom toiletries very limited miniscule samples...eg.1 shampoo/conditioner/ 1 roll toilet paper/ milk/ coffee/tea bring/buy your own...especially as we were booked for 9 nights...same with bed linen...wash your own if want to change bed linen/ towels in that time.

Wonderful Port Douglas accommodation.

Nice accommodations. There were 6 adults, 2 couples and 2 singles and this apartment was perfect. Full kitchen, one and half baths, washer and dryer, plenty of room for lounging and eating, great balcony. We didn't spend a lot of time in the unit, but did do most of our cooking there and used the pool which was close to our room. Very clean and well-kept accommodation and grounds, and the staff was great. We also used the outdoor grill at the pool and had dinner on the patio at the pool which was also nice. We took a day trip to Mossman Gorge,and did the Dreamtime walk in the rain forest with an Aboriginal guide, Mooks, who was great and very knowledgeable. Take mosquito repellent! Then we continued on to Daintree National Forest and Cape Tribulation - must sees. There are several places along the way to stop and grab a bite to eat or glass of wine. We stopped at Whet Cafe on the way back and had a drink on the covered deck while it rained harder than I had ever seen or heard. It was a great time.

Enjoyed our 5 days there. Kitchen was well stocked even had things such as alfoil and glad wrap which were nice touches. The bathroom does need an exhaust fan. Grounds were well maintained and staff really friendly and helpful. Pool was a big hit as well. Would stay again

Lovely apartment with excellent facilities, modern features throughout, 2nd toilet and own laundry. Nice back patio overlooking lawn and front porch. The owners had left lots of condiments and utensils all for visitors use which was very handy. Good size rooms, TV and foxtel and dishwasher etc.

Hotel close to 4 mile beach

Very friendly staff happy to help out arranging trips and hire car.
The hotel is a little out of the main town but there is a locally run shuttle bus that runs from the hotel to Port Douglas. You can buy a weekly ticket that's cheaper.

There was plenty of room in the apartment that had two bedrooms. Clean comfortable bed with plenty of spare blankets etc. There was a small welcome pack of tea etc. Local supermarket within walking distance where you can buy all your supplies.

There was a washing machine and dryer that was a great way to ensure you had clean dry clothes for the next part of the trip.

The weather was amazing even though it promised storms.

The on site swimming pool was clean and large enough for a decent swim.. Great value for money and a great quiet location out of the main town.

Nice apartments with all the comfort you need.
Beautiful lagoon style swimming pool, tennis court and kids playground.

Staff are super friendly. The owner recommended a place to have dinner and it was amazing.

The apartment itself was fantastic. It was very spacious and well laid out with excellent living accommodation, and a fully connected TV that gave us all the channels we wanted. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was extremely effective. Everything was clean, and this is one of the best places I have stayed.

The one thing that could be improved was we needed a fold out bed, and this had a thin mattress and was not that comfortable. However the other beds were all good. Overall a great place to stay.

After booking with wot if and guaranteed a 4 star room we were very disappointed with our accommodation. The room was NOT 4 star. The bathroom badly needed renovating. The bath was chipped and rusted and had mold on the silicone and tiles. This mold was very old and the grout was filthy. The toilet paper provided was poor quality also. Lying in bed we could hear our above neighbour peeing in the toilet above us. Not exactly romantic. This apartment has potential but badly needs works and an extra lining on ceiling to reduce noise. I would say this apartment was 3 star.

The motel was nice and quite ,love waking up to hear the birds singing . It was nice having a shuttle bus to take us into the main town .The staff at the motel where so nice and friendly and really took the time to help to organize day trips and
transportation .The amenities ( TENNIS COURT AND SWIMMING POOL ) where available to us and were well maintained .The grounds of this motel were very well looked after, neat and tidy and clean .We are looking forward to returning next year . Thank you .

Clean, comfortable and friendly

Situated in a quiet tree lined street away from the hub-bub of Port Douglas, the first impression was bright and well-kept. We were particularly delighted with the apartment which could not be faulted for cleanliness and comfort. The pool was attractive and the grounds outside our apartment were immaculate. All in all a very enjoyable few days. Thank you.

Port Douglas Wedding Trip

Hi my wife is writing this review she is better at it than myself. Apart from a mix up online by an overseas telephone person on our apartment booking we had a wonderful stay for 5 nights, the apartment had all we needed, very comfortable and clean. It was great to wake up to all the birds singing each morning and we loved the tropical bush setting. The stairs were a bit of a climb for me but worth it for the view from the balcony over looking the pool and tennis court. One did not need to go into the main town centre as there were handy shops within walking distance although we had a rented car. A bus service passed by the entrance and was used by other family members as was the swimming pool. The weather was great which was a pleasant surprise and we were not pestered by insects, we certainly would stay again at the Nimrod, regards Yvonne
