The Beachfront terraces is one of 4 properties run by a group. I believe each unit is privately owned but run by a holiday management group, as we had locked cupboards that we could not access which I imagine contained the owners personal property.
Ours was possibly the most tired of the units we saw. Very old and shabby. Oven and shower needed replacing. Blinds broken, and sliding doors off their railings that kind of thing.
BUT, it is in a great location (across the street to 4 mile beach, 5 minute walk up to the main shopping and dining district, 5 minute walk the other direction to the marina) and the property itself (gardens etc) is very well maintained. The pool was fabulous (not heated). Communication from the management group was fantastic, they were quick to reply to messages, and when the cleaners missed something, they sorted it quickly. Shame we got dishwasher powder rather than dishwashing liquid when there was no dishwasher.
So I would recommend this place to stay if you are looking for something on a budget that is in a good location and you don't need the best of the best.

Great location, not too noisy in day, wonderfully quiet at night. Bird songs, curlews singing and chirpy geckos. Reasonably clean and comfy. Manager was super helpful. We’d come back.

Very misleading advertising of the property, showing image with aspect to the beach with garden setting in front facing beach. Actual room received with \"garden setting' faced a carport and a bit of grass. Requested room on ground floor for medical reason received room on first floor. We had to find new accommodation and we lost payment got beach tarraces. Very disappointing.

Great condo with an awesome location!

We loved the location of this condo being close to both the beach (right across the street) and the town (10 minute walk). We spent 5 nights in Port Douglas as part of our 21 day Australia vacation and we were glad that we chose it as a base for exploring the Great Barrier Reef as well as the Daintree, Cairns, and Port Douglas itself. The condo is part of a building with a shared reception office where you go to pick up your keys. It was very spacious for just the 2 of us with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Everything was very clean and we liked having the kitchen and washer/dryer. The price was very reasonable as well so we would highly recommend it!

Disappointing stay in Port Douglas

Our room was a real disappointment. The bathroom was so small I had to move into another room to dry myself. The apartment was in original condition (apparently 80s although seemed older) and nothing had been renovated. The sliding door which lead to the beach had the locks blocked out which meant we were unable to access the beach as we could not lock the apartment. There were not enough power points, the cook top was very old and cracked and the wardrobe was damaged and had not been repaired. I did complain on the first day and was told to make an appointment on the next day. I received an email on the second day telling me to make an appointment. As we were to leave on the Wednesday there did not seem much point. The wifi was terrible. I would not recommend Beachfront Terraces.

Over the road from the beach, perfect

One bedroom with very comfortable bed, ok bathroom and toilet together not a problem could be a bit bigger but still not a problem, laundry tucked away good dryer however we had trouble with the washing machine (it was a late model) which we reported and someone came to look at it we did not use it again so do not know if the issue was fixed. Kitchen dinning and TV is a great space, not a lot of bench space but workable perfect location with beach at front door and beautiful pool back door staff warm and friendly and approachable, We have booked an apartment in the same block facing the beach for next year, so all good.

Great Location don't judge a book...

Location is great on the very north end of 4 mile beach, it looks a bit tired and dated from outside compared to some neighbouring properties but inside was a nice surprise and clean as a whistle. The pool area is a ripper. If we went back i'd just go back without even shopping around

Comfortable townhouse on beachfront

We had a very enjoyable stay. The unit was very clean and practical it suited our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers pefectly. The building is older on the outside but the inside is very comfortable. The price is very competitive considering its position. It had a large swimming pool situated at the back of the units. Balconies on two levels overlooking the ocean and a rear balcony overlooking the pool.

Out the front door across the street and onto the beach - perfect! Our one bedroom unit, 205, had been renovated and painted however some of the other units definitely need upgrading. The exterior of the building is looking dilapidated and in need of some TLC (signs of concrete cancer etc). The new pool is great however the design could have been better to accommodate some deeper water - because the pool is so shallow by afternoon it is like getting into a hot bath (possible a simple sun sail over a portion of the pool may help with this?) Some more mature planting around the exterior fence line of the pool would have also improved the look of the whole area. We have been staying at this place on and off for over 20 years and love the location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful & allowed us an early check in due to an early flight which was fantastic. Overall we would prefer to stay here rather than some of the more upmarket places. If you want 5 star go elsewhere, but if you want relaxed, clean, homely and directly across from the ocean then you might like this place. We would definitely return but would want one of the upgraded units. Thanks to the staff for your courtesy and friendliness.

I loved it was across the road from the Ocean and daily walks on the beach were lovely. The shops were only 5-10mins walk away, shops were convenient, eating places were plentiful, not far from, Mossman sightseeing and things to do in Port Douglas while not plentiful were interesting.

The room was clean comfortable and well air conditioned.
The location is great, right across the road from the beach, and about 20min walk to town. The surf life saving club, and another restaurant are very close.

The after hours checking was frustrating. I rang ahead and got instructions. They fell apart because the notice with the phone number to call was on the door in the DARK, the key safe was similarly tucked away in the dark.

The font office woman was dismissive of my complaint on this and another matter (wrong welcome letter).

nice and quiet

the apartments are very basic but very clean good beds and everything you would need . we had a garden apartment 207. i was on a 11 night holiday from sydney with my 2 grandchildren 7 and 9.
2 days in from our holiday my 7 year old grandson cut his toe really badly on one of the broken tiles . in the pool...the pool area was very neglected ...when it was reported we were told they were going to be doing major work on the pool area . we were told to use the beaches pool. but we noticed kids were still using the pool .in my opininion it should be closed until it is repaired . this had a huge impact on our holiday as my grandson couldn't put his thongs on and walking was limited .so it was taxi's anytime we wanted to go anywhere..
if you want to watch Tv at the end of the day forget it our TV cracked and banged and went off with loss of signal .. when i got the maintance man to see what could be done .he tried but said this is how it is on Port Douglas nothing more could be done.
the position was great across from the beach . and under normal circumstances a 10 minute walk to shops ..

Older property with little updating.

The Terrace apartments are an older building with minimal cheep updating in the bathroom. They share a reception with the property next door which looks newer. The air conditioning has been recently updated and works well in spite if the fact that the front door to the unit is a flimsy lourvered door with a screen to keep out the bugs so the cold air just flows out. The door does nothing to block sound either. The kitchen was adequately equipped for cooking. There is a coffee press which we appreciated. The pots are older with burnt food stains that we could not get out. When we arrived the unit appeared clean but the floor had a fine gritty dust that collected on bare feet and into the beds. The pool was clean but was missing a number of tiles on the bottom and sides.

We were in a garden view unit that overlooked a grassy area. The ocean front units have a road between them and the beach as well as a row of tall trees that would most likely block most of the ocean view.

The location was good, a 15 minute walk to the center of Port Douglas where there are lots of shops and restaurants.

Overall the unit was adequate but not great.

The location is great, old building needs lots of maintenance, not sure about all other rooms. Well organised but nobody there, may be because off season? Hotel is controlled from next door management, friendly but in another hotel.

Decent apartments, great location, but ......

Overall, the apartments are very decent for the price and have a great location. Others may have said the bathroom is small, yes, it was, but who really cares, it was functional. The amenities in the bathroom were a bit dated. The air conditioning was fine, with a unit in the lounge and bedroom. The kitchen and living area are well equipped and spacious.

I have two other comments on the place, which in principle should be of most concern to the management, and if they are addressed, would hopefully not turn off prospective guests.

1. Security in my apartment was poor - the latch on the sliding door was not functional and anyone could have broken into the apartment, which being right on the street in front of the beach would be vulnerable. I did report this as soon as we checked in. Some guy took a look at and made a token repair that improved it slightly for a day or so before the issue returned. I told the maintenance guy again at check out and he said he would take a look. Really, poor security like this in not acceptable - we paid a lot of money to stay there and take basic things like that for granted.

2. Insulation - the back doors have no glass, just open wooden slats! In such a hot and humid place and in this era with global climate change concerns facing the world, one might expect better. Half the cool air from the air conditioning goes straight out the door! Proper doors on these apartments should reduce the electricity requirements substantially I imagine

Good location!

The apartment is a bit dated, but it was in a good location. The air condition worked very well, but the internet didn't work in the condo. As far as cleanliness, it was acceptable. I is right across from the beach by the net you have to swim within during summer because of stingers. I would def stay here again as the location is great!!

Value for money great location

The Port Douglas Beachfront Terrace appartments were just perfect for us. Aircon worked fantastic pool and best of all right across from the ocean. The appartments are older but they r very clean and kitchen lounge and laundry included. Loved the ground floor being able to walk just across the road to the beach. probably a 5-10 minute walk up town. There are many fancier more modern resorts around but I don't see the value I need clean quiet comfortable and proximity to the beach this has it all. Make sure if your booking the shuttle bus from Cairns airport that you tell them Port Douglas Beachfront Terrace appartments as there is a Beachfront Terrace in the street behind.

Our recent weekend getaway

On my initial entry to the unit, I was dismayed that in general, it was very dated. I thought it would be better for the cost per night. The view from the balcony was also lacking, although if I looked hard, I could see the ocean. However, it was clean, roomy and the A/C worked well. The position in Pt Douglas was good also, within easy walking distance to everywhere. My husband and I enjoyed our stay, despite our first negative assessment of the property.

Needs to be more sound proof. We could here everyone around us as if they were in our room. Bathroom disappointing could not brush our teeth without hitting our head or spilling waster on the floor. Lounge and chairs were not comfortable. The outdoor furniture was not comfortable nor inviting. For the price of the unit we were very disappointed.

The location and price of this complex make up for the fact that the apartment is very dated and in need of some maintenance. The bed was comfortable, there was ample parking and you can walk across the road to the beach or a very short walk to the main street where all the restaurants are.

My 2 sons & I really enjoyed our stay. We found the apartment spacious, well equipped & maintained. A stone's throw from the beach & a short walk into town, I'd recommend Beachfront Terraces & would book again.
