We had a great stay at the Regal. It was very quiet during the low season so we were lucky enough to have the pool to ourselves most days. Great facilities at the pool (fridge, BBQ) and the room had everything we needed (plates, bowls and cutlery, and two bath towels each plus swimming towels for the pool/beach). Excellent location, everything in walking distance. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed it stay at the Regal. The grill was great, the room had nice amenities tho sharper knives would be great. The Regal is nicely located in all directions. Thanks for the nice stay. Really loved Port Douglas and wished we had more time there. Parking was great and the hot tub looked kind of dirty

Great parking under unit in garage that is gated at night. No lift so a lot of stairs etc so if have mobility issues might be an issue. Pool area nice but small area not busy this time of year. Has library you can swop books great idea. Older building but spacious and comfortable. Just around corner to Main Street with shops and restaurants etc. Good value for money would stay again for location and parking.

This one was a toss up for me. Amazing location, walkable to shops and restaurants as well as the beach and marina. The balcony with the hot tub and covered table area outside was very nice to have. However, you have to consider the cons: no elevator, no dishwasher, very noisy when sitting outside due to the 3 story waterfall on all day. The inside space was limited, and having doors that were louvred meant you could hear everything in the bathroom and that light came through as soon as the sun came up in the morning.

The Regal was nicely located just off Macrossan St. Our studio apartment was smallish but had a massive verandah area where put our cases as the space inside was limited. Whilst there were many positives, the negative was that we on the second floor, 3 floors up from the garage. There was no elevator so it was a struggle to lug our bags up. I was told that because of height restrictions in Port Douglas, very few places have lifts so it was a pity our room was on the top storey. Otherwise we had a great time

The property is more like an apartment than a hotel. The rooms are not serviced daily, you do your own dishes, you put out the garbage, if you need extra toilet paper you have to buy it yourself, there is no lift. The bathroom is huge, with a shower over the spa bath that sends water everywhere. However, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Apartment was perfect. All the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Walkable to shopping, dining and water activities. Small kitchenette for cooking meals with refrigerator and microwave if needed to store leftovers and cool beverages. Pool was perfect for relaxing or play. Nice grilling area if cooking outside is your preference. Would stay again!

If you’re thinking about staying at Regal Port Douglas, think again. We checked out after staying only one night, having booked a 7 night stay. To preface, the photography is very deceptive on the website, giving the pool a bigger appearance than in reality. Even my son was disappointed. The Studio room is tiny, and you can barely swing a cat in it. The Spa Bath/Shower was abysmal, no shower could be taken without an IMMENSE amount of water spilling everywhere. The overall appearance of the complex is very dated, if you prefer to stay at something more updated and modern, Regal Port Douglas is not the place for you.

Bed was Comfy but bottom sheet felt rough. Too many rules, if you don’t empty your bin you get a fine. Don’t wash your dishes you get a fine and you only have a washhand basin to do this in. Shower was over a spa bath which was hard to get in and out of. Shower sprayed everywhere. Felt like I was an employee ☹️

The Regal is in a very handy position just off the main road, and easily walkable to dining options, the beach, the markets and the wharf area. It was generally quiet. We booked a studio room for 4 nights. It was equipped with fridge, toaster, cutlery etc. There is no sink apart from in the bathroom. The bath was huge with shower over. Wasn't the best choice for us with the height to get in and out of and our \"maturity\". Balcony off the bathroom. Bedroom is to interior of unit. Pool was lightly heated - a nice touch in August. Rooms are not serviced, which we knew. Could have done with change of towels as they got rather wet with shower over bath set up, although we did put out on drying line (there is laundry facility in parking garage). Good parking area under property. Stairs to all levels with no lifts.

I had a fabulous time at Regal, Port Douglas. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was exceptional.The only small feedback I would give would be that the spa was challenging to get in and out of as it was quite high and I'm very short so had to be careful.There's also a gap in between where the blinds meet so was a bit self concious that other guests would be able to see me taking a shower but other than that I wouldn't hesitate in coming back to Regal, Port Douglas.

Our 1 bedroom unit 38A on top level 3 fell short of the 4 star rating. Major issue 1 was no curtains, so the units opposite had a great view in. Major issue 2 was the aluminium shutters on the balcony (for jacuzzi privacy) were broken in places and almost impossible to operate.Other issues were the struggling air conditioner and kitchenette power points being over the sink.

Had a wonderful time in port Douglas. The staff at Regal were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent. We stayed in a studio appt and it was very comfortable and clean, loved the day bed on the balcony. Only negatives were you had to climb into the bath to have a shower so wouldn’t recommend this to seniors or if you have back or leg troubles, the other being the stairs as there is no lift but we managed.
Overall a great place to stay and I would stay there again!

Although very close to the Main Street and local activities, we found the Regal Port Douglas to very quiet and relaxing. It provided an excellent base for our holiday activities or for a quiet time by the pool or on our balcony and in our private jacuzzi. We would certainly recommend the the Regal Port Douglas

We stayed in a king spa room. Perfectly adequate for my husband and I. Only negative was it was a little dark in the room and we had to have the lights on during the day but it had everything we needed , was clean and comfortable and we would stay here again as it was centrally located for shops beach , bars. Staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was smaller than depicted in the photos but as we don’t have kids, it suited our needs. The is a little dated but charming.

The service and friendliness was exceptional from the moment I walked in.
My room was spotless and beautifully layed out.
The location was ideal to the beach and all the cafes and restaurants.
There are many stairs to climb with no lifts.When hot and humid can be a challenge, but once you get to your room, sit on your balcony with a glass of wine and look out to the rain forrest in the distances, you firget anout the stairs.

This property was an excellent place to stay handy for shopping, restaurants, the secure car parking is great so was the free ice maker in the hallway for the keeping our drinks cold. The pool was kept immaculate and general accommodation was superior. Staff were excellent in every regard. The room was large so was the shower and plenty of hot soft water for bathing. Our one concern was the bed .......so hard we love a soft bed, however it was a king size giving plenty of room to move around.

The one complaint I have is there were too many stairs, as my wife and I are elderly we found it quite difficult. Otherwise good.
They should mention there are no lifts in their advertising.

Room was tiny, far too small for 2 people. Bed were very uncomfortable and the pillows were a disgrace, completely flaccid and unsupportive.
On Sunday morning of a long weekend we were woken at 9am by cleaners cleaning the room next door who slammed the heavy security front door no less than 18 times before we asked them to come back later.

The Regal was very clean and the service was good. The room was small but drawback was it was full of stairs with no lifts. You had to go down a flight of stairs then up half a flight and then down a flight to get to the pool. This is ok if you are young and fit but I recommend it for anyone that is older or has problems using stairs. Also a great spa bath in the room but the shower was over the bath which was awkward to use.

I spent a lot of time looking for a hotel as it was our first time in Port Douglas and a special birthday. The Regal was okay, but I will be honest I was disappointed as I asked for a pool view, but was told that they were reserved for returning guest and not for first time people, but we would be put on a list. When we got there of course we did not get a pool view room and the room we got was so far down the end of the resort it was ridiculous. I was disappointed, but again no point in complaining as we were not 'returning guest' , but we were first time guest and first time to PD. I will be honest the place is tired and our room location was poor, we booked months ahead and received no special treatment. I wouldn't go here again, because I felt we were a nuisance asking for something that we were never getting. It wasn't our fault we were not returning guest, but unfortunately the experience means we never will be returning or recommend this hotel to our friends. I hope your returning guest never leave you, because first time guest can become returning guest with a little care and extra service.

The unit we stayed in was very dark and physically uncomfortable (25A). The spa bath on the balcony takes up a lot of space and did not work. No bench space in the kitchen and could not operate the hot plate. The ironing board collapsed whenever I tried to use it. This apartment is in much need of modernization .
However, the location was ideal, immediately by the shops, cafes and restaurants. A five minute stroll to the ocean .
