There is no reception at all which appears very off-putting on arrival.Other things of note are, the king size bed was uncomfortable and needed the mattresses replacing, the pillows on the bed were particularly uncomfortable, the entrance to the underground parking at street kerb position was poorly designed and made the front of the car drag on the ground. Other than these things, the room was clean, well equipt and tidy as was the spa bath and the swimming pool.

Room was spacious, ample towels, very comfy bed. Entire premises very clean. Pool area very restful had BBQ one night. Balcony over looked Grant St. teaming with people during the day and wild life at night. View of birds flying foxes going about their evening rituals in tees at eye level from balcony, oblivious of us and diners below. No visible staff on premises, found it a little strange not interacting with staff at premises, by chance met 2 of them at Coles.
Parking safe and secure a little difficult on entry exit (very steep & tight) should be note on website about this.

Condom found on the floor of the main bedroom. Stuck to daughter-in-laws foot. 3 year old grandson slipped on the side of the pool and fell backwards over a 1+ metre drop. Fell on head and back. Ambulance called and taken to hospital.

I didn’t realise how central it is to everything - the beach, yoga, shops, cafes, restaurants, mariner.
I felt safe, loved the room and the gorgeous wildlife that I could see everyday and night from my balcony.
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool and shared BBQ area was perfectly positioned for sun and shade. Whilst in the pool area, I met lovely elderly folk, young families and 20-something party goers! It’s a place to stay for all ages. I’m so so pleased I chose Mantra In The Village and will definitely be back!

Inconvenient neighbours spoilt the experience though. They ran a dryer very late at night a few times and cooked in their room causing the alarm amd evacuation alert to wake me and force me out of the appartment in my pajamas. No damage was done apparently so back inside soon, but then wide awake and couldn't get back to sleep!

Can’t really fault Mantra in the village! Location was perfect, secure parking, unique and beautiful pool. The room was amazing, with a spa bath on the balcony and a large L-shaped couch. Easy to check in/out. You were given bath and pool towels. Lovely toiletries. Everything was perfect!

Our room was clean with a change of towels 4 days into our 8 day stay. We paid for a late check out but we were locked out by about 10.30am having to get someone across from Mantra Heritage with new key cards. Reception very rarely had someone in attendance and two out of three times the black phone hasn't been answered including the day we arrived. The pool was great with a sunlounge always available.

I loved the stay, but being woken up early hrs of the morning because you can literally hear people outside at the pool is so not ideal also could hear cleaners opening and closing doors throughout the morning which was annoying especially when people are trying to sleep, walls are paperthin can hear everything.

The tv situation needs upgrading as there was no Netflix or anything.

Wifi was always disconnecting.

Other than that the stay was great.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Mantra in the Village and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. While the hotel had its positive aspects, such as its convenient location and friendly staff, there were a couple of significant drawbacks that significantly impacted my stay.

One of the main issues I encountered was the excessive noise coming from the next room. The walls seemed to lack proper soundproofing, and as a result, I could hear every conversation, TV show, and even the slightest movements from my neighbors. This constant disturbance made it difficult for me and my partner to relax and enjoy our time in the room. Despite bringing this concern to the attention of the hotel staff, no immediate resolution or alternative room was offered, which further added to our disappointment.

Another aspect that contributed to my inconvenience was the lack of privacy in the bathroom. The design of the bathroom did not adequately separate the toilet and shower area from the rest of the room. This lack of privacy made it uncomfortable to use the facilities, especially when sharing the room with another person. Despite these setbacks I would like to acknowledge the hotel’s friendly and attentive staff willing to assist with any other enquiries or requests. The hotel had a convenient location which is another positive aspect.

I was disappointed that there was no staff accessible throughout the stay. As there is no regular housekeeping available, I was unable to access clean towels/toilet paper etc for days. Every time I called, I was redirected to another property who advised staffing hours were between 8am-4pm. I called multiple times between those hours and even went to the front desk only to find the desk closed and no staff available.

We have stayed at Mantra in the Village many times however it needs an upgrade, poor kitchen facilities & grubby areas including foyer, security gate, lift buttons & bathroom doors etc. could be better. Pool also not very clean. Proximity to centre of Port Douglas is fabulous. Staff rarely on site.

The property is great however the housekeeping sucks, walking in the apartment was cool and looked great - but, the tiled floor was sticky, the wc had long hair on the porcelain, the kitchenette sink smelt of vomit which became stronger when I turned the ceiling fan off, I only stayed one night when I decided to risk an instant coffee the next morning I found the complementary box of milk in the fridge was half used.

Fantastic location, friendly greeting at reception, room welcoming on entry with lights, a/c and music playing, very clean, great size bathroom with spa/bath, lovely views from our balcony on Grant Street, watching the starlings and parrots flying through the sky on sundown into the trees below. Enjoyed relaxing on the sun-lounge by the pool - paradise!

Broken Toilet doors and shutters wouldn't close, doors broken, no exhaust fan. Small room meant everyone got to share every toilet experience. No bathroom bench space, had to put everything on the floor, toilet bowel cracked. One small towel rack and other rack broken.

No Service to the apartment (totally un-serviced and wasn't aware of this) and couldn't get any front desk assistance as this was also totally un-serviced until writing an email, 4 days in finally got a clean set of towels after complaining, but nothing more. Same sweaty sheets for a week without any attendance.

No toilet access at the pool, so needed to go back to the room and deal with those broken shutters/doors again.

Bitten by something multiple times in the room that resulted in multiple visits to the pharmacy.

Would I stay here again! I don't think so.
Although you can't argue with the location.
Definitely very low budget accommodation charged at a premium rate.

Rooms definitely overdue for a deep clean. Bizarre design choices such as a pull down blind over a sliding glass door and louvered sliding doors on the bathroom that offered virtually no privacy.

Frustrating process for those checking in after 4pm. Be aware that rooms at this property are only refreshed/made up on a weekly basis.

Hotel is in a great location in walking distance to many good restaurants, and parking is free and undercover.

Unfortunately though, due to the quality of the room I did not feel that I got good value for money.

I was given a room with a faulty air conditioner and was moved to a smaller room overlooking the pool. I love my peace and I certainly didn’t get any staying here, heard everything including drunken teenagers the pool at 2:30am. Hospitality in Australia has really gone to the dogs. This will be the last hotel I say in, within Australia.

Port Douglas certainly doesn't have a shortage of Mantra options, and we chose Mantra in the Village due to price and location. Overall, the service provided by the staff as outstanding, allowing us to receive an early check-in, which was critical given we were in town for a wedding and needed to get ready. The rooms in the resort are nice, but could use refreshing. I noticed a couple of lights which did not work, our main entry door was very difficult to open and close at times, and the balcony door was in similar condition. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay, but don't expect a room in near-new condition.

I LOVED the location - it was so central to everything we needed. Coles was a 6min walk as was many restaurants and ice cream shops. I didn’t love the noise factor as a result at night time but then again let the people have their fun

FAR NORTH HOLIDAY

The staff were lovely and nothing was too hard for them, however, there wasnt always someone on duty and we had to go to the Heritage which is just around the corner. Unfortunately for us we had building construction on one corner. Every day there were trucks pumping out drains which was very very noisy and the last day we had tree lopers and mulching of same. So there wasnt much sleeping past 7.00am. The room and position of the room was great, just we obviously went at the wrong time. I would recommend the property though, close to all restaurants and beach.

But housekeeping was very sloppy - pile of bedsheets left in doorway of one room, bin in kitchen not emptied, bag of burger buns in microwave and a long black hair in bathroom sink (we have blonde or grey hair!). Shame that these little things changed overall impression.

Privacy right in the center of Port Douglas

Great price, Great staff. Room was modern, beachy, clean, spacious and airy. Perfect for the beach getaway. Pool was nice also and very private. Motel is right in the centre of town, we could walk everywhere, the lookout, the shops and restaurants, the beach, and the wharf, everything was so close, with no need for a car once we got there. We have already recommend to friends and will continue to.
