Quite disappointed. The hotel in general was pleasant. But the pool area wasn’t kept clean every day & there was tissues left for three days & not swept away. Our room wasn’t swept each day as we would return to find the same rubbish on the floor after a clean. Bathroom taps not cleaned off & toilet not cleaned & flushed. But bed very comfortable & breakfast very nice!

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The room was spacious, clean with everything you need and more. Breakfasts were delicious. Very friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

Room was quite nice and spacious, a little dated and perhaps not value for money. Also, didn’t appear to be anyway to lock the sliding balcony door and not really a fan of just a metal shutter window beside the bed, as opposed to a sealed window.
We only stayed one night after cutting our visit short due to the cyclone brewing off coast. Despite several conversations with the hotel and Expedia, we were not able to negotiate any refund from either, so I would consider whether it’s worth booking this hotel (or using Expedia to do so?) at the of year where cyclones/ severe storms may come in, or at very least consider booking a flexible rate in case, like us, you wish to move to avoid any incoming cyclones. Port Douglas I’m sure is a beautiful place when it’s not raining cats and dogs! We may return at some point but we may choose a larger hotel chain where there flexibility is available in case plans change. I’m also not sure what value Expedia brought to this as they didn’t appear to have any weight in conversation with the hotel.

Port Douglas I’m sure is a beautiful place when it’s not raining cats and dogs! We may return at some point but we may choose a larger hotel chain where there flexibility is available in case plans change. I’m also not sure what value Expedia brought to this as they didn’t appear to have any weight in conversation with the hotel.

Our room was looking out at the beach. The whole hotel was beautiful with a nice pool, a jacuzzi, a large tub with jets, a shower, a stove top, a nice dining area, a microwave and a fridge. Excellent position overlooking Four Mile Beach, while being an easy walk to the shopping area. Good size 1 bedroom suite with a great balcony. The swimming pool area is very good. Just a couple of things that could be improved - the floors needed a really good clean and there were quite a few cobwebs around the ceiling and entry doorway. We would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

The ocean was just across the street, and our room had a great view. Loved hearing the waves and enjoying the sea breeze on the balcony. The swimming pools were fun. We used the bikes that were available to guests and rode on the beach at low tide. Breakfast was terrific.

This is a hidden gem so don't tell too many people! Tucked away with absolute beach front access, it's quiet and convenient. Jojo and Pete the managers are very accommodating and welcoming making sure you have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
The breakfasts are included and are certainly among the best we've had. The eggs Benedict and the scrambled eggs were preceded with a generous fruit plate and who can go by a Fonzie coffee. Keep it quiet but do give it a try!

Fabulous stay on 4 mile beach
Absolutely stunning location, right on 4 mile beach! We woke up to see the ocean through some palm trees, made some lattes with the espresso maker and milk frother in the room, and just soaked it all in. Our room was lovely - airy, light, lovely bedding. The kitchenette was appreciated, and daily breakfast was delicious. Front desk and dining staff were all so helpful and kind. They arranged a day on the reef with Sailaway - fantastic! Didn’t use the pool but it looked lovely. The hot tub wasn’t very hot - that’s the only suggestion I can come up with. Book this hotel - you won’t regret it!

This is not a hotel but instead each room is owned by someone and the front desk is managed by a company that can’t help with reservations. The front desk is not serviced 24 hours and does not go out of their way to assist you. The pool is small and uninviting and the bathrooms need updating.

My wife and I loved our stay. The view over the ocean from our suite was amazing. Unfortunately we couldn’t leave the sliding doors open as they had no screens and we would’ve got eaten alive by the bugs. At every opportunity we sat outside on our balcony and enjoyed our view of Four Mile Beach. Our suite was lovely and very comfortable. Breakfast daily was amazing. The hotel was kept wonderfully watered and clean. The facilities were terrific and the airport shuttle was a great service. The pool area was spectacular. Special mention must go to lovely Deanna and Nicole at Reception and the delightful Amy we saw in the restaurant each morning for breakfast. These girls are absolute gems. We would definitely recommend staying at the Peninsula.

We loved the location of the Peninsula, just across the road from 4 Mile Beach. We have stayed in PD many times and this was our first experience staying in this area. We would usually stay further down Macrossan Street but we have now found our perfect location. It's an easy walk along Macrossan to shops and restaurants. We stayed in a ground floor ocean view room which was perfect for our needs. We loved being able to walk directly out to the beach area. Also, breakfast was included which was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The onsite restaurant looks out to the beach and the views were great as was the breakfast. We will definitely stay here again.
