Amazing property! Everyone was so lovely. Shannon was very informative and shared amazing knowledge of recommendations to do in Port Douglas. Lovely customer service. Prices affordable. Room was tidy snd clean.
Parking in the hotel property was very narrowed and difficult to park, this was the only downside. However overall experience was excellent and enjoyable

Top floor unit at the back was very quiet and relaxing. Spacious apartment with wooden sliding door to close off bedroom if desired.
Sharp knives were not very sharp but that is always the case at motels. Ceiling fan in bedroom was a bit too low so it always felt too strong. Spa bath in shower was a nice bonus. Easy walking distance to everything on Macrossan St. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Lovely place.

Room was tiny and badly laid out. Lighting poor. Room was extremely small and the layout, especially the area for the bench, kettle toaster etc was terrible. Supposed to have a spa tub but it didn’t work. Only savings graces were the location and the staff who were smiling and helpful.

The room was spacious and clean. We thought the limited front desk time would be challenging but they communicated well with easy instructions so no problem at all. The pool is a bit kiddish but I donot come to Port Douglas to swim in a pool. Parking space is tight but manageable.

Excellent location. In the centre of the 'tourist area', steps to numerous bars and restaurants. Grocery store / bottle store 3 minute walk.
Covered secure parking.
Our balcony faced the rear of the property, where construction is underway on a new building. Not a problem for us (they advised us before our arrival of the construction to allow us to change) but, it may block the view when completed.
Great place to stay in Port Douglas.

I can only describe my stay here as perfect. I had an incredibly busy schedule, with 2 full-day activities booked in my 2-night stay, arriving after midnight on the first day. This timetable does not fit well with the reception times for check-in and check-out, but after communicating my situation to the staff they easily offered me options to make it work, even keeping my luggage after the check-out. Here, let me specifically cite the manager Shannon, whose attention I can only qualify as delightful.
The rooms were large and comfortable offering all the expected amenities and prepared to keep you safe in such a tropical and wildlife-vibrant environment.
Regarding the location, for me it is also perfect, right in the middle of Port Douglas, with many restaurants and grocery stores just some steps away, and the marina where you board the boats to explore the Great Barrier Reef is just 10-15 minutes by walking.
This property will be first on my list for my next stay at Port Douglas.

The highlight of this property is its great location right in centre of town off the main street. A great variety of cafes and restaurants close by and a close walk to the beach, park and marina. The Pavilions units very generous in size, although older, had been refurbished recently and had everything we needed for our week’s stay. Only thing I would have liked was the opportunity to have some fresh towels during our stay. Pool also older but was warm and a great place to cool off.

The property was prime location right in the centre of the main street, very close to all the restaurants, beach and also Coles, we usually hire a car, this time we didn't and we didn't really need too due to the good location. They have a car park here too. Shannon the manager was very helpful and friendly and we felt very welcomed. The aircon in the room was amazing. We also enjoyed swimming in the pool.

We stayed for hubby’s 70th birthday. We wanted central and quiet, no kids. This was the perfect location. Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the facilities as Cyclone Jasper arrived. Staff moved us to a higher room and we bunkered down til we could fly out and home. The rooms are well appointed, clean and central. Staff are absolutely amazing.

Was on the main st tho tucked away, i was kept updated via text from pavillions regarding payment, keys, directions to my room if i arrived whilst reception was unattended.

The staff i had contact with were super friendly professional and helpful. I would definitely book there again. The hotel is also within walking distance of everything

we liked the location and the price was reasonable, people were friendly, however didnt find that the room was very clean. everything we touched needed proper cleaning. this includes the glasses, spoons and the bathroom could be cleaner and renovated. found that the small appartment was far too small (queen studio).

The room was a typical tropic apartment located in the Main Street of Port Douglas. Angela and Grant are the on-site managers there and were always friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy. Ideally located as short walk to beach shops restaurants and the Sunday market

The front desk attendant was very nice and helped me with planning my tours and making calls for me. The room was great. The only thing I didn't like was that there were so many rules about throwing out trash, recycling, and there wasn't any instructions in the room about how to check out when the front desk was closed. I found the key box thankfully but I wouldn't have known what to do had I not found it.

The room was incredibly spacious, the bed was lovely. I didn’t use the kitchenette facilities. The hosts were super friendly and helpful with my questions. As per other reviews, the car park is teeny tiny and the wifi in my room was a bit average (I unfortunately had to do some work during my stay).

We had a double room on ground floor and although accessed near garage it was very quiet and easy to get to. The room was very clean, had its own small balcony and all amenities including ceiling fans and airconditioning. The property had a small pool was centrally located right on the shopping strip, close to supermarket and restaurants. Easy to walk around to either jetty or beach. Would recommend staying here.

I liked that the pool was heated in winter, when most pools in northern Queensland are not. So at least we could swim while in a sunnier state.
The only thing was parking underneath was very tight, but there’s plenty of free parking out front, so no problem.

Pavilions was lovely and quiet with the great jungle foliage right beside our balcony. In a really handy spot for everything, especially Daves takeaway and Sparrow coffee. Alison and Grant were very helpful and calm. Alison offered for us to leave our car in the car park when we checked out on Sunday so we didn’t have to battle market crowds. We’ll be back for sure.

Poor experience ! The property is very dated, rooms in need of serious refurbishments & maintenance. The appliances make a lot of noise, bathtub is stained & there are cockroaches. Worst of all, the TV in the room was stuck on 1 channel but switching to the internet (Emails, Netflix etc.) was impossible, the free wi-fi network reminded you of the fourth world technology where it took 10 minutes to pull up a website. Fact is, in today's time a good wi-fi network is an expected basic, the owner/managing couple at the motel said there is nothing they can do about a wi-fi that doesn't work ?!

Alison and Grant are very good hosts, very helpful when suggesting places to eat and tours to take.
The Pavilions have a great location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, 4 mile beach, Anzac Park and Crystalbrook marina.
Maybe it could make it an even better choice if the internet was a bit more stable and robust.
Our room had a studio layout, which was good enough for the two of us, however the mattress could use a refresher, had to flip it over after both of us started having back pains.

I had studio 207. It was dark, like a bunker, smelled of chlorine or something from the adjacent pool.
The hot water took long time in the morning, and there was none at all in the afternoon.
The flushing mechanism in the toilet was broken but came good after a bit of fiddling.
The lights in the bathroom took a long time first evening, did not work at all the second.
The fridge was set so low that there was no ice, just tepid water.
There were two different coathangers in the wardrobe, but no space to hang anything as the spare bedding was there.
The bed was good though!
The first morning I was woken at 6am, by people packing/cleaning in the units above me, no sound insulation in the ceiling or doors.
At seven someone started a whipper-snipper all around the property, for at least half-an hour.
Fair enough, I tried to have a nap in the arvo, being on holidays.
Straight away a pool party of some five blokes and some girls took off, and went into the evening.
The evening was ok, in the morning everyone above me and around me started packing/cleaning at 6 again.
I checked out that morning.

The hotel was on main street but quiet with easy access to shops, restaurants, beach and Marina. Freindly and helpful owners. Car park was available but be prepared to miss out if full. Highly recommend this boutique style hotel. We will come back again. P.S. We could feel springs in mattress - needs upgrade.

The location was excellent but the room was outdated specially the bathroom taps were rusted and made a loud rattling noise when we tried to fill the spa. The plates and cutlaries were unmatched and not enough decent glasses were there.
Every morning at 7:00 am, cleaner started blowing and mopping.
It was not relaxing and comfortable stay at all.

Difficulty for the over 60's

Three problems.
Room has a Spa Bath. Very difficult to get into as the sides are very high and you could slip trying to get over the edge.
Property has no lifts.As we were on the top level it was very difficult dragging our suitcases(18kg) up and down 2 flights of stairs.Had to go one step at a time.
Car Park. It only has limited space for 8 vehicles but the difficulty is trying to manouvre the car to get out the automatic gates. For a large SUV you need to go back and forth a few times with help from another person to avoid hitting the walls.
Note : The owners do not have a permanent reception person on at all times so you need to pick up a phone and call them to come down when required - restricted hours unless an emergency.

The unit we stayed at was a bit dated but that wasn't an issue because we'd stayed there before and were aware of it. The big issue we had was with the cleanliness of the unit. Dust on the bed head and on the doors that separate the bedroom from the lounge. Didn't notice much on the first night until we turned the fan on the second night. Disturbed sleep due to the dust and sneezing... Terrible experience. Informed the reception next morning at checkout only to be told that they will inform the housekeeping. No apologies offered. Definitely not staying there again.

Stayed for 4 nights during trip around Australia. Very basic studio apartment but comfortable and very central to other amenities in Port Douglas. Would stay again but would ask for a slightly larger room on upper floor as found the ground floor to be slightly dark but enjoyed overall.

Easy access to everything

We had good time during our holiday. Even though my husband got sick, There are 2 walk-ins next door. coles is near by which is handy. For reef cruises we just walked from hotel. Plenty of options for cafes,meals. Still it is quite and cosy inside.

Well located, spacious, clean

Quick check in after some hesitation about discrepancy between Expedia check in time and hotel policy. Spacious room with balcony overlooking beautiful tropical garden with trees full of different birds. Only complaint is that hotel allows smoking on balconies so when a guest is smoking on a lower floor balcony the smoke wafts into the upper one, thus forcing these guests to vacate the balcony.
Overall, Pavilions is an excellent apartment hotel, well located in the heart of Port Douglas and well maintained.

We arrived early but were able to park our car, in the basement, after contacting Reception and head off for lunch. Check in was great - lovely helpful staff. The room was a bit disappointing after checking other reviews. There was a very musty smell and the outlook from the balcony was not great.

Cool place to stay in a warm environment

The location is terrific. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and bigger than appears in photos. We used the barbecue which was a nice touch, and enjoyed swimming in the private pool.
Parking is limited so if not in early, you will need to find parking elsewhere (we were able to park on the street just across from the hotel overnight).
All in all it was a terrific place to stay and we would definitely book there again.

Port Douglas is beautiful all your round. The weather is glorious. The scenery is beautiful.
The restaurants are plentiful, delicious and a wide variety.
We like staying on Macrossan St and this year our accommodations at Pavilions was great.
Even though we were so central, it was so quiet and relaxing.
Alison & Grant the owners are very friendly and also helpful with organizing tours.

Excellent location.

Manager Grant was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed its proximity to the beach, marina and shops so didn't need to use our car. This was our second stay and we will definitely return.

Great location, close to everything we needed.

Great location for us. We could walk to restaurants, shops, and where our friends were staying, plus the Sugar Wharf, the venue for the Wedding, the purpose of our stay.

Centrally located

We lucked out and got an apartment on short notice (they are generally booked months in advance). Large room/apartment with great amenities (kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, patio). Friendly and very helpful manager...very very clean and modern setting right in the main shopping area downtown.

My husband is handicapped and has difficulty with stairs and we were given a room right on the same level as the parking lot, making for easy unloading plus he could walk up the ramp to the main street level. No smell or sounds from the parking area plus laundry room right outside the door. Once the door was closed we had our own little oasis.

Each evening we could walk around downtown for entertainment and dinner or choose to stay in our room and make our own meals. The port and access to reef tours a short drive and about a half hour to Hartley's Croc Farm.

Good hotel in the main street

Great apartment on the Main Street with off street parking. Hotel staff very friendly and accomodating.
