The place was in a great location. Near four mile beach and walking distance to the town. Floor was dirty when we arrived, but there was a broom and dust pan in the unit so took care of that. Great 4star apartments, with full kitchens/amenities, 2 separate pools. Bay Villas is located really close to the main shopping/eats street - great cheap shuttle service pick-up/drop off at your leisure. The staff at Bay Villas were SO friendly & helpful-incl. ongoing communication prior to our arrival, suggestions/arrangements for activities whilst visiting, and easy a/h checkin - which all made our holiday easy, seamless & stress free.

Nice apartment in a good central location ... only 10 minutes from the main street in Port Douglas. Lovely welcome from the receptionist, Rhian, who gives a great first impression. Nice swimming pools, although could do with some umbrellas over lounges for some shade. Balcony area was dirty and therefore not inviting. Overall a good stay though.

Sudio room was very small and poorly designed. Shower was tiny and bathroom lacked bench space. Room was very outdated and needed a thorough clean. Pool area was very small and lounge covers badly stained. A 15 minute walk to restaurants and main shopping area. Overpriced and would not stay again.

The place is great overall! It's quiet and within walking distance to the main street with all the restaurants and shops (15 mins max). The four mile beach is less than a 10-min walk which is nice. The marina where all the GBR boats leave from is about a 15-min walk which is again not bad. The room is clean and tidy and the kitchen is a nice addition. The pool was always empty when I stayed here. I'm usually picky with hotel bathrooms because it's very easy for mould to grow at the corners around the showers and bath tub but nope it was all white and clean. You'd have to pay for the safe though, I'm not from Australia so not sure how common this is. No complaints overall!

We stayed for 9 days. It was Very clean and quiet. Fairly central to shops. Staff was great. The only thing we didn’t like was the three flights of stairs with luggage was difficult and housekeeping after the forth day only ment they change bed sheets and towels. No soap shampoo or coffee was replenished however if you asked for some they gave it. Laundry was free as well as soap but it was cold water only. All in all it was very clean and comfortable.

Lovely affordable place to stay, unfortunately the pool was closed and there were noisy renovations that we weren't made aware of. Parking was a bit on the difficult side. Regardless, great value for money.

Communication was terrible both pools and bbq areas not available to use and they did not communicate that with us even though I was emailing them a week before arriving and no apology and were quite rude while our stay . Had to purchase beach towels to go to the beach . Would have at least thought they would be complimentary concidering we couldn’t use any resort features . Pool photos on site were definitely not the photos from the resort , even we could use it . First time in port Douglas and would not recommend Bay villa to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at Bay Villas in Pt. Douglas. Easy walk to restaurants and Marano Fuel Wharf. The unit was comfortable and nice. Never did get the tv working, but it didn’t matter that much.

The room was extremely disappointing. The stove was covered in grease. The floor was sticky and stained and clearly hadn’t been cleaned since previous tenant. The room smelt awful. The bathroom was horrible with a bath shower that my friend couldn’t fit under. The couch was gorse and had a tissue in between the coushions.

If you choose your room based on Gold bonuses, there was No upgrade (appeared to be availability) we were supposed to be given a bottle of wine and tour credit, we weren’t given either, even though we went and asked twice. Tiny rooms, nowhere to place bags without stepping over them.
There was a $2 per day fee to use the room safe. Bathroom wasn’t adequately cleaned.
The pool and BBQ area looked good and clean.

Soap in the bathroom would have been nice
No soap provided for the wash basin or shower. Brooms, buckets, dustpans etc kept where you hang your clothes...I was going to a wedding so wasn't keen on my expensive dress leaning up against cleaning stuff. The trim under the air-con clearly indicated the aircon was leaking on it which is right above the cupboard where clothes are hung. Very tight ensuite. Had to squeeze around the door to get to the toilet. Expected to empty the bin before leaving (which I did) but this is a hotel. Probably wouldn't stay again to be honest.

Great accommodation close enough to walk to town, we hired bikes for our stay to get around quicker but it’s probably only 7 min walk if that. Room has everything you need for longer stays, pool wasn’t heated but we stayed elsewhere and it doesn’t seem to be the norm to heat pools… I also read reviews of other places and people complained heated pools were too hot so I guess it’s up to the individual. Good location, tidy and great for a longer stay in PD

This property is 15 min walk from the main street. When I booked, the advertisement including airport shuttle, but it's airport shuttle arrangements, you need to pay the fee separately.
When I left, I was missed by the shuttle service, when I requested for the staff to contact the company after 30min of wait, I was told just wait. After 50min, the shuttle service called the hotel and said the driver missed me. The hotel staff was not sorry for the situation at all because she said she had helped to arrange for the next pick up. I ended up waited for 2 hours.
The hotel itself was clean, minimal supply of toiletries and etc for a self contained accommodation. You even need to pay for more shower gel or laundry powder.
I can't say it's horrible but it's not up to my expectations.

Great place. Friendly, helpful hosts. Good value and in a location which encourages you to take the easy walk into town central. The pool and BBQ were brilliant. Room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. King size bed really good. We’ll be back and strongly recommend. Only suggestion - if you’re driving, go very very slowly out the exit into Mudlo st as the drainage ditch across the drive is quite a steep drop. You’ve got to watch out for these in PD and Cairns in general

Location of this property was quite good, within walking distance of shops. Unit comfortable, would have preferred a separate shower. Shower was over the bath and for anyone with a slight disability was difficult to get into bath without any grab rails to steady yourself or help manage the slippery bath once it was wet.
