What an awesome spot! Spacious apartment, clean, with well equipped kitchen saved us heaps of money making most of our meals. Washing machine and dryer very useful, pool was lovely though we didn't get around to using the bbq next to it. This was soooooo much better than staying cramped in a hotel for over a week. Mel was very helpful with suggestions of day trips. Can't rate this place highly enough for us. Slightly too far to walk to shops, restaurants, beach etc so needed our rental car.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Tropical Nites.
Mel & Andy are absolutely amazing people. Friendly very helpful with any questions you need answered or needs you require.
The units are clean spacious and fully contained.
The grounds are clean and well kept and the wildlife will keep you amused come dusk and dawn time.
We cannot recommend Tropical Nites highly enough.
We’ll definitely be back!

Mel and Andy are fantastic hosts with a wealth of knowledge, they organised all our activities for us all we had to do was show up.
Tropical Nites is a great place to stay with everything you need to make for a very relaxing holiday.The townhouse was very spacious, clean and comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a dinner night in. I would highly recommend Tropical Nites to anyone who wants value for money.

Roomy, Welcoming, Close to everything

We spent a week at Tropical Nites hence why we chose a place with extra room. The townhouse we stayed in was excellent. Big main bedroom with a relaxing balcony overlooking the pool and garden. The second bedroom we didn’t necessary need but we used it to store our luggage and clothes, giving us more room in the main areas. The couches were very comfy and the kitchen had pretty much everything we needed. Andy and Mel were great hosts. They were available or not too far away when we needed them, and they were great socially too. They are the kind of people you would want as friends. We thought the pool area was a bit cramped, especially when there’s a few families. We felt that the area could be extended through the grassy section - hint hint. Despite this, the pool itself was welcoming as was the BBQ area. Also, it was a comfy walking distance to town and the harbour. We visit Port Douglas often so I’m sure we will be back. Adult kids in tow next time.

We loved this place. It's run by a lovely, dedicated family who let us check in early, and at the end of our stay even drove us around the corner to our next accommodation - way above and beyond! It was spotlessly clean, really comfortable and the pool was great, much better than it looks in the photos. Each unit is a whole townhouse and you book the number of bedrooms & bathrooms you need access to, so as a couple we had a big master suite with balcony in a family-sized space. A couch each and full kitchen. We didn't have a car but it was an easy walk to the beach and into town. So relaxing, we wish we'd just booked our whole time in Port Douglas here.

The staff were really nice and friendly and were able to book me on whatever I wanted to do around the area.
The Townhouse was very comfortable and met my needs perfectly.
The only issues I had was with the Vegetable Peeler, it was the worst that I had ever tried and the Shower Head as it either needed a good flush out or clean or needed replacement, otherwise GREAT!

This is a great property for a family getaway.

The units themselves may not be brand new and posh, but it’s clean & tidy; with all the amenities necessary to make life easy.

Service was great, it’s what you would expect normally from a 5 star hotel, friendly, helpful & over the top. They would do anything possible to make your stay easy & enjoyable.

A real family oriented place, will not hesitate to stay there again.

A great place to stay with a family or group. We are a couple and still enjoyed it. The rooms are upstairs/downstairs townhouses, so any rooms not used are locked off. The kitchen is a great size for preparing meals for a family, there is an outdoor barbeque are too. Our master bedroom had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. We looked at more expensive options but this felt just right. The family who run it are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Its about a 15 minute flat walk to town -good for exercising off that evening meal. Its a 10 minute flat walk to the Four mile beach. Close to but far enough awat the main road so no traffic noise. Checked out more expensive options but Tropical Nites ticked all ur boxes.

We had a great time in Port Douglas and enjoyed our stay at a Tropical Nite. It looks nicer than in the photos and was a quiet and peaceful place to rest at the end of the day. Our apartment was light and bright with many windows . It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 3 minute drive to Macrossan St. where there are many shops and restaurants. We would not hesitate to return.

We enjoyed a wonderful 3 nights at Tropical Nites and would highly recommend this property. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was great for us, as it is just a 10 minute walk to the beach and an enjoyable 15 minute walk to town. There was also easy free parking in town for the times we chose to drive. The managers were super helpful before and after our stay in giving us information and booking tours. We hope to be back one day!

The unit was newly renovated and very large with kitchen and laundry facilities. The balcony and patio were lovely. I really enjoyed the pool. There was a shuttle on demand for trips into town. The owners were very friendly, most accommodating and booked my trips which picked me up and dropped me off at the apartment. I hated to leave such a beautiful town and fabulous accommodations! A definite 10 out of 10 rating!

The location of Tropical Nites is excellent! It was a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 20 minute walk to the town center. The walk is even beautiful! The manager was so friendly and helpful. He assisted us with bookings and sight seeing, as well as an after hours request for a pack and play. The pool was great and the rooms were very large. It is not the most up to date, but we did not mind that. The beds were comfortable, but lacked a proper comforter and night shades. This made sleeping a little tough with how well lit the property was. If I would have packed a sleeping mask, it would have helped.

Environment was so relaxed and the couple managing the resort were great and extremely responsive and helpful with arranging a shuttle to pick up our son late at night from Cairns making it a more relaxing stay and also rearranging things when one of our party didn’t come. It is also pretty close to the main Port Douglas restaurants..about a 15-20 minute easy walk or 2-3 min drive.

We were very impressed with this hotel. Lovely welcoming staff make a trip so much more enjoyable. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, and plenty of room for your own food. TV has a few austar channels and there is a DVD player for which you can borrow dvds from the kiosk for free. Pool area and bbq were very clean.
Mel, the new owner, was very happy to help when I called to ask about local weather warnings and holiday opening times of local shops for the Easter weekend. We will definitely be back.

A great spot for families

A tropical nite is small but has what you need -self-contained apartment with kitchen and laundry, and a communal swimming pool, well-eqipped bbq area and very friendly and helpful manager. Very close to the quieter end of 4 mile beach. We walked to the main shopping area each day but others may prefer to drive. We stayed here last year too, and this year there is a new manager and the place has been tidied up

The unit was perfect and very spacious...with grandparents in double room downstairs and plenty room upstairs for rest of family and grandkids. Bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs was great. Falls short for an upgraded room

Supposed to be an upgraded room but it fell short. Old appliances with the exception of the dishwasher which was new. Ceiling fans were rusted as was the fridge. Frying pans were too burnt to use. Was supposed to have a pool view but our room was in the farthest corner of the complex. Why we were given this room when we booked several weeks prior is a mystery. My complaint went ignored.

the place was calm and quiet. Sharon the manager was helpful. She gave necessary information about the area. I got 20 AUD discount bu booking through tropical night for the great barrier reef tour. However, they have forgotten to keep tea, coffee and sugar. There were not enough toilet papers for our 4 days stay.

Great location and facilities, room fixtures need some maintenance and/or replacement, beds were too firm in all rooms, pool was great, parking was great, manager was extremely friendly and has great local knowledge and bang on advice. Only real snag for us was the beds but great overall family value.

Port Douglas is a nice place

Front door would not lock. Had to request locksmith to have it repaired. Room was insecure for 24 hours.
Foxtel did not work until the 5th day, the last day.
Lounge smelled of dog. Wife and kids refused to sit on it. It stunk.
Cheap smoke detectors. Every time we used the toaster it went off very quickly.
Management apologised for the inconvenience.

we stayed a few days and the rooms were big enough to handle the 4 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen and laundry in the room was very convenient. Port Douglas is not very large so the location is close to everything but you would need to drive or bike to the pier. Overall a good value and comfortable place to rest.

Older property in need of renovations. Beds were comfortable but blankets were dirty. Bathroom was old with rusting hardware. Dryer didn't work properly so drying beach towels and clothes was difficult since the weather wasn't that hot. We were given 4 bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth between 4 of us for the whole week.
Sofas, cushions and dining chairs were stained and dirty. Kitchen was adequately stocked with crockery and utensils, although we found most of the plates were dirty when we arrived.
The outdoor pool is small, but heated and shaded. It's about a 20 minute walk into Port Douglas and s 10 minute walk to the beach. The owners were able to give us information about the surrounding area and places to visit.

Good complex with facilities and kitchen equipment exceeding expectations. Even provided cake forks! But the apartment we had is years overdue for complete refurbishment. There was no compendium in the apartment; \"new ones are due soon.\" Vertical blinds were broken \"someone is coming next week to fix.\" All cabinet doors had to be lifted to open otherwise they caught on the floor. Lounge upholstery fabric was breaking down (perhaps due to sun damage). Rust seen on exterior extraction units as well as indoor plumbing.

Family friendly and relaxing stay

The staff at Tropical nights were very friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They always had great suggestions of what to do in Port Douglas. They kept out town house beautifully clean - Tanya even did my dishes!
The house was well equipped and easy walking distance to the beach for a large, young family. We all loved our stay, particularly the kids! Highly recommend it.

The self-contained apartment provided all the mod-cons required to make our stay enjoyable. That said, some of the items such as the lounge, aircons and the shower head (most important!) are in need of an upgrade. I note that the apartments are privately owned so the onus is on the owners, rather than the management, to fulfil improvements.
The location is perfect for access to the village as well as other sights in FNQ.
Nice pool and BBQ facilities in complex!
Tania was very helpful and informative with advice about what to do and see.

This hotel was fantastic! If you don't mind a little walk and don't have a car then this is the place for you! The dryer and washer were a fantastic addition and the swimming pool was amazing after a long day out sightseeing deffinetly stay here again!!
