This motel is always an excellent accommodstion option when visiting Port Douglas. Every facility can be accessed by foot. The rooms are quiet the bed comfortable and service is excellent. I recommend this stay to anyone.

Excellent location, a 3 minute walk to the top of the main street or 4 minute walk to the beach.
The room was a good size with a small kitchenette plus a sofa and the essential air con'.
There was also a barbeque area and a small pool with water at a perfect temperature!
The lady running the place is lovely and helpful.
The only negative for us was the bathroom is quite small, a bit dated and the air con' doesn't make it in there and it did get pretty warm in there.
However we would definitely stay there again and do recommend.

What a marvelous property! This motel has the cutest mid-century modern decor throughout, the nicest and most generous hosts, and very comfortable rooms. A great choice for how convenient and walkable it is to the beach and downtown Port Douglas area. We would have gladly stayed there for several nights but worked extremely well for our one night stay.

Thin walls. I could hear the occupants next door turning their microwave on and off. I could hear their alarm clock going off (and it took them a long time to shut off the alarm).
My room was next to the tanks which serviced the pool. So everything in my room smelled like chlorine. It was the stench of disinfectant in a seedy motel room. The pool was filthy (not that I wanted to go swimming). Sand and dirt strewn about the bottom.
My room had a flimsy hollow core door, which if one was determined, you could easily kick the door in. A flimsy lock on the door. It was one of those places that the police use when they’re setting up a sting. In the movies, they huddle around a grainy monitor, listening over a busted speaker, waiting on the informant to say the code word before they spring into action and come rushing in through the adjoining door with guns drawn.
It was only for one night, so I toughed it out, but it was a restless night and I must have woke up half a dozen times.
I’ve travelled quite a bit, all over the world and your facility has to be the 3rd worst motel, I’ve ever spent the night in.
Now I know, “Where NOT to stay” in Port Douglas. Next time I’ll stay elsewhere.
The next morning after I checked out and didn’t look back.

We couldn’t wish for a nicer place to stay with lovely retro features which we loved, & everything was within a few minutes walk. Our room had all the accessories we required & was clean & comfortable. Only comment was the washer & dryer in a separate building needs updating but that may already be in their plans to do as everywhere was well kept & updated. We would highly recommend this motel & the staff - mother & son Bernie - both of whom were very welcoming, were friendly & gave us lots of advice & suggestions on what we could do & where!

We had a great 3-day stay at this quirky but very nice & comfortable motel. Our apartment looked to be recently refurbished, was well-equipped, spacious & had all the accessories we needed. The location is only a 2-minute walk to the shopping centre with many lovely shops including a large supermarket, coffee shops, various types of restaurants, plus a lovely marina & seafront with a pathway at the end of the centre. The owners of this motel were very friendly & welcoming plus they gave lots of suggestions of places to go & things to do including the surrounding areas. The only comment we would make was the washing machine & drier are in need of replacement but maybe they are due for this any time soon. We would highly recommend this motel when visiting Port Douglas!

Great, funky retro motel. The property is very neat and clean, there’s a bbq area beside the pool with all you need to create a fabulous outdoor feast (byo food!) and the pool is really pretty. It would be hard to find anything closer to town - 2 minute walk to great coffee and about 8 mins to the marina. The staff are kind and thoughtful and know so much about the area. A really nice property with excellent facilities and a beautiful pool/BBQ area. Walking distance to the beach and dining places. Quiet room, with comfortable beds and kitchenette. Friendly staff. My only issue was with the shower. It had terrible water pressure and you didn't have enough water pressure to wash your hair. However, I would definitely stay here again.

Friendly and helpful innkeeper in Bernie. Clean accommodations close to town within easy walking distance to the main street of Darwin. Also has outdoor grilling area. Pool kinda small, but the only viable alternative as one can’t swim in the ocean for to risk of saltwater crocs.

Great choice. This was very affordable compared to nearby hotels. The room was modern and clean. The bedding was comfortable and the air conditioning worked. The room had a good sized fridge and sink. The location near the Main Street, the beach, and the Surf Club restaurant was excellent. We used the pay laundry to wash our clothes, and everything worked fine.

It's an older property which has been given a lovely retro refurbishment. I had a studio room which was spacious and well furnished. Staff were friendly and the access to Macrossan Street via the backyard took only minutes.
