We were three families with kids (children ages 8-17) staying in separate apartments. The pool was nice, and the staff was friendly. However, you would definitely need a car if you're staying here. There's no bar or restaurant, there's not even a vending machine to purchase a drink or a snack. It's NOT a five-minute walk down to the nearest shop, despite what anyone tells you (especially not in the heat with kids). The apartments feel quite remote and apart from some DVD's and board games, there's really not much for kids to do or explore in the evening.
Also, could have been the time of the year (Jan) but despite the aircon being on 24/7, there was a lingering musty/mildewy smell in the bedroom/bed, plus one of the aircon's kept leaking quite a lot of water. The surrounding area was very quiet, almost like a sleepy seaside resort for retirees, so if that's your thing - then this is the place for you. If not, I would not recommend.

Definitely not “sebel” standard. Rooms are a great size but are dated, and had better days. Seems to be “quick” cleaned as there was alot of dirt/dust/rubbish jammed down areas such as the washing machine. Our sink leaked- attempted to contact reception on 4 occasions and no one got back to us. No cafe etc on site so byo food unless you plan to eat out the entire time

We had a studio apartment which was well appointed and spacious. The one thing I missed was mot having our own laundry and the common laundry down stairs was dated and not as clean as I would have liked.

Studio w/ Kitchenette was avsolutely perfect! Clean, modern, and all the cooking and cleaning utensils I need for my 6 day stay. Washer & dryer in the unit was a plus. Bathroom had a tub and shower with separated toilet, like you get in fancy hotels. This room made my stay even more pleasurable and comfortable.

The studio has everything you will need on your stay. The room was very clean. Everything was modern and comfy. The washer and dryer in the unit was a pleasant surprise. The kitchenette had a fridge, stove, microwaves, and all the plates and utensils, and even cookware that you need. The bathroom is like what you would get in a fancy hotel suite. It’s actually bigger than my one bedroom apartment back home. I ended up adding 3 extra days here because I love the studio so much. The location is not close to Cairns city center, but Palm Cove is a beautiful little area in itself. If you want a peace and quiet and to to get away from all the city “action”, then this place is perfect.

The 3BR apartment was nice and new. For a family of 8, they only 2 small sauce pans, we had to go out and buy a pot. During our stay, there was a black out and the AC was over working so water was dripping and dishwasher stopped working. Other than those small issues. We we’re happy with our stay.

Quiet location with an easy 10 minute walk to Palm Cove esplanade. Our room was lovely and modern and all amenities in working order. Our one bedroom apartment was an open layout but easily broken into separate areas with slide doors to close off the bedroom, this was perfect for our 20 month old son who could sleep comfortably. Pool depth and size was good, perhaps a few more day beds but that's being picky.

A good choice in walking distance to Palm Cove
One bedroom apartment, with bedroom separate from open lounge and kitchen area, balcony and washing machine facilities in the bathroom. In room facilities are in good condition. Rooms are clean, though a little dusty dirty around the edges (not \"detailed\" clean). Pool facility is quite good. Adjoining Gym and Lap Pool facility at Oceans Edge is free, and sensational. Worth noting is that the adjoining golf course has been abruptly closed down - not sure what the plans are for that land space, but assume it will be sold off for further developments. It may be worth asking if that area is under construction or cleared at the time of your planned stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Hotel is less than a 1km walk to fabulous Palm Cove, where you will find all necessary restaurant and food choices. Its a good option, and well priced for the moment - but keep an eye on what will be developing in the near future, as the existing pics here may not tell the full story of the Hotel's surrounds in the coming years.

We had a lovely 5 nights at the Sebel. Our studio room was very comfortable with the added bonus of a kitchenette so we weren't forced to eat out for every meal. The pool and surroundings were lovely but, we thought, there could have been a bit more shade provided. Apart from that it was very relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Misleading pictures of the location we booked
Beware! The pictures Expedia print for the Sebel Coral Coast resort are misleading and inaccurate. The Sebel is in one location. But the Coral Coast resort is another. The Sebel is next to a golf course. The coral coast resort is not. They are separate to the Sebel and its further from the beach. So to have expansive views of the golf course while advertising the Coral Coast resort is wrong and we will be chasing Expedia for an explanation.

Hard to find. Not far from beach, etc. but not really within walking distance. It would have been good to know to stop at Clifton Village to get supplies instead of being told when we got there. Two small stores in Palm Cove but very expensive.Have stayed in other Sebel hotels and this one not as good. No room servicing. Unmanned reception overnight which was a nuisance when fire alarm went off. One guest had to ring manager. Didn't know the drill for evacuating people. No explanation or apology offered. We just had to wait until firemen finished checking the building. Ants appeared in kitchen on last morning even though we had been careful. Would not book in here again.

We did not stay in the resort as advertised on Expedia. We were put in the Coral Coast Resort. The Resort itself was Ok but not as nice as The Sebel.
The resort does not have any bar, restaurants etc..... so there really is only the apartment and pool.

Unfortunately the resort pool was a bit mirky and greenish when we were there and we could not find bicycles to hire close by at an affordable rate.
The lap pool on the other hand was lovely and clear blue, so we swam in that one.

We enjoyed our stay at Sebel Resort. Because of our short stay 4 nights we were not aware that the hotel did not provide services, like massages, Internet technicians were not available. If you want to get away for a few days and relax and not leave from the hotel you must go prepared.

Nice hotel in quiet Palm Cove
Spent a few lazy days at the Sebel, comfy beds, good air con and close the the esplanade where there was a number of cafes and restaurants. Getting to town without your own vehicle is a little bit of a hassle, the bus was only $4.40 ea and was every half hour during the week, every hour on weekends.

The Sebel is definitely one of the upmarket hotels. The rooms are spacious with huge king size beds, as well as a full kitchen; some even have washing machines and dryers incorporated into them. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing seems to much for them to see to.
Only a short walk/drive to the beach to indulge oneself at one of the cafes/restaurants - all with a #1 view of the ocean, fringed by palm trees, white sand and the sound of the waves. Exquisite!

Nice hotel on golf course. Close enough to walk to Main Street for restaurants. Only thing is the wifi is just about non existent. If you do manage to connect, it is so slow.
