A lovely apartment with a beach view. Very convenient having a washer and dryer in the apartment. Pool and spa very nice. Garden very well maintained.

Occasionally noisy because it is on a bus route, but otherwise in a very quiet residential area. Only a few minutes drive from the supermarket..

Had a problem with the toaster which was quickly sorted out. The property has recently changed hands and the new owners are still finding their feet. It would have been nice to have had a personal welcome instead of receiving notifications through email. However, as my Husband and I are older we do not like this impersonal way of communication which is the norm these days.

We would certainly redcommemd this property.

Clean property. Beds were a little stiff but this might he an Aussie thing. Laundry room and bathrooms could use upgraded ventilation. We would stay again though and would recommend to a friend. Easy parking, clean pool and stocked kitchen were a bonus.

The amenities have been spot on and everything you could need.Q ueit location with wonderful views of the beach from the living areas. 11 out of 10… the apartment was very well furnished, great kitchen, comfy sofa, powerful air con, even had a new super fast washer dryer…WiFi was very good- good enough to download movies. Apartment was spotless when I arrived & ready for early (midday) checkin.
Stuart and Tony are very helpful with things like advice for trips, help with local transport& things to do. Loved the pool for reading & chilling.
Clifton Beach area is quiet - very peaceful but theres a great walk along the beach or through the nature trail to Palm Cove it’s a- nice alternative to the bus.
There’s a big supermarket (Coles) 15 mins walk away so it’s easy to stock up and enjoy your vacation!

Stayed in Palm Cove previously, preferred this more tranquil setting across from the beach, great location for car trip up to Port Douglas & down to Cairns & the reef.
Restaurants are all around in the Palm Cove & Clifton Beach area {8 min.car/ 15 min lovely walk}. Owners always on hand with local info plus private parking & a Lift which helps access for us over 60's. Would stay again.

Book here you won’t be disappointed. From the room to the decor the nice location, the wifi that works, the fine touches on things like some good quality wine glasses. When I come back to cairns, I won’t stay anywhere but here.

The apartment was lovely, home from home. Just about everything you would need for a longer stay. Air con and fans in all rooms. Brilliant patio area and gardens and a lovely little pool with a small BBQ area.
Washer and dryer in a laundry room.
I can’t praise this place and the hosts, Stuart and Tony enough.

Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, well-appointed kitchen, comfortable beds in a spacious clean apartment looking out to the ocean with the sound of waves lapping on the beach from our balcony - a piece of paradise! The new owners were very helpful and always on hand if we needed anything. Coles supermarket and small shopping centre nearby. Close to Cairns and a great base for exploring the Tablelands and the beaches up to Port Douglas. Our family of four adults loved Argosy on the Beach and we will be back.

Stuart was an amazing host. He even gave us recommendations on what to do. The property was directly across the beach. We could hear beach waves off our balcony. We had adequate space for 4 of us and amenities were wonderful. He even had ac on waiting for us when we arrived late at night. Highly recommend this place

I’ve stayed in a few nice places, this one is easily my favourite. My apartment was fantastic, great quality throughout. Loved the huge balcony, East facing so you get sunrise over the ocean. Then there is a smaller balcony at the back with excellent forest views, including a family of wallabies which visited daily.
Lifts to your floor, really nice swimming pool, great walking paths along the beach right out the front, so much to like.
And the staff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating, couldn’t ask for more.
Hope to go back one day!

Loved looking out in beautiful warm mornings through palm trees to the sea. Loved the wallabies and the bush stone curlews. Our vantage point was perfect. Great walks, either to Kewarra Beach or to Palm Cove. Local cafe Coco Mojo was walkable and great.

Our stay was lovely, the gentlemen that run the apartments were great. Theaoartment was clean had all necessary items to start you off in the kitchen and an array of different glasses fir what ever you were drinking. The only problem was the two couches were very uncomfortable, unlucky for us they are in the middle of changing them, they are right onto wgat was needing change. To our surprise the two gentleman knocked on our door with a very nice bottle of Champagne for our 51st Anniversary,this just goes to show how well they treat their guests.we will Definately stay there agsin and soon. Also the beach front is so beautiful and cleaned every day. Amazing walking paths all the way to Palm Cove.

You definitely cannot go here without a car as the shopping village is not in walking distance (at least 20 minutes). There was only 1 restaurant (overpriced) nearby which wasn't open every day. The manager for this property was the worst we ever experienced...the front door key didn't work from Saturday to Tuesday when she finally got a locksmith. She put us in her own apartment next to the office where we had no privacy - even the curtains didn't provide that, but it was a larger apartment than what we had booked but the decor was abominable from the 1970's and not at all updated and rust everywhere and not at all inviting. We went upstairs to a German couple whom we helped out when the manager was absent and had given them the wrong key and they were extremely upset so we helped them. We also wanted to see their apartment and if ours was 1 star theirs was 5 stars on the 1st floor. Re the transfer from airport to Argosy at Clifton Beach, we were told Exemplar does not service Clifton Beach only Palm Cove so we were left to the mercy of a friendly driver who dropped us off anyway. However we had to change our reservation to Palm Cove where we were told to make our own way back to Clifton Beach on a rainy Friday night at 8pm when you cannot get a taxi because cruise ships and other events were taking place - and again the manager Judith was unhelpful after promising assistance.

Apartment accommodation for business travel.

Absolutely beautiful location and beautiful accommodation. I was here on a business trip and prefer to cook my own meals, everything I needed and more was available. I will be back again with my children for a holiday for sure!!
Highly Recommend for business or planning a family holiday, this place is amazing... Plenty of room, very clean, very quiet and super relaxing.
Leaving for work everyday was a challenge. haha :)

Quiet beach stay

Judith the manager there was helpful and set up all of our excursions at great rates. This location was calm, peaceful and exactly the kind of beach stay we wanted. Restaurants and shops are a beautiful mile and a half walk away, so we didn’t rent a car although buses were available too.

Property was dated. TV in bedroom did not work. Microwave did not work. Dryer did not work and poor communication from the property. Property manager tried to charge us almost $300 for cleaning because we left clean dishes in the dishwasher, did not clean out 2 small bins, did not clean the floors as there was no mop, she forgot she lent us two extra towels which were left in the apartment and kids spilled juice on one of the sheets. Pictures online did not match the property. For the money, I would stay somewhere else. Also after staying there I noticed a lot of the positive reviews were actually from the property manager.

Fantastic welcome by Judith, the manager. Do you want a quiet, luxurious stay opposite a gorgeous beach? Then this is the place for you. Need your own transport though. Not congested like Palm Cove nor citified like Cairns. Perfect location, perfect accommodation, for the travelers that just want to relax in luxury. Close proximity to Kuranda, the Reef, ( from Cairns), Atherton Tablelands. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Great apartment overlooking beach

Family of five. We stayed on second floor in two bed corner appartment. Spacious, well equipped and very quiet. Kids loved the pool. Only way to get closer to the beach would be to reroute esplanade behind the appartments!

Stinger nets when needed within 500m walk. Shops within 2km. Car required to access cairns and surrounds although a bus goes past front of appartments. Clifton beach is very quiet.

With young kids, we ate in or had take away each night, so can’t report on local restaurants nor nightlife but looked relatively limited within walking distance. However, Palm Cove is a couple of Kms away. Locally, Taste of Italy pizzas were excellent.

It was a great base to enjoy reef and attractions. Judith (manager) was wonderful and helped us book reef and other trips (with discount!)... thanks a million!

I can’t fault our stay at Argosy. It was a last minute booking for us and the manager went out of her way to make sure we where made welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend these units, clean, quiet and everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We really didn’t want to leave and we will be back again.

We had a really lovely apartment. I guess they'll vary a bit (because they're all privately owned) but our was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. The block is separated from the beach by a road which has hardly any traffic on it, although there's an excellent bus that comes every half half that'll take you north to Port Douglas or south as far as Cairns. Judith, the manager, is extremely friendly and obliging, and knowledgable about tourist stuff. And oh yes, adorable little wallabies come out and nibble the back lawn every afternoon. Overall I was extremely satisfied with this property (which also has off-street parking, a lift if you need it).

Quiet spot to chill-out as a couple

Clifton Beach was an excellent location for a quieter midwinter break from NZ. Within walking distance to Palm Cove (about 3.5kms) for brunch or lunch, but far enough away to be a lot less busy. We did have a car for some days so very easy to pop around to Palm Cove for dinner out.
The Argosy apartment was fully self contained and just across the road from the beach, so having few restaurants nearby didn't bother us - we were there mainly for the fine weather, warmer temperatures and opportunity to read and relax!
The small pool area on site was very nice for quick dip or relax in the sun (away from the on-shore breezes), but we typically headed to the beach for a swim. Lovely paths along the beach front were very popular morning and night with dog owners, walkers and joggers (very relaxing watching everyone else exercising ;-)

The managers of the resort went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Our room was modern, comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was very well equipped. The free roaming wallabies made the stay even more perfect. As some reviews mentioned, the pool is unheated. We didn't feel like it was a problem. Our kids still enjoyed swimming everyday. The beach is just across the street, great for swimming and playing. Clifton beach is a quiet beach town. Our family really enjoyed it. Beautiful beach with grocery store nearby and just a few restaurants. Location also made it easy to get to many tourist attractions in Cairns. I highly recommend it!

A stunning spot , right on the beach. lovely open balconies to beach, very spacious living area which is well appointed. Angelo and Karen are very nice hosts, grounds are spotless with the pool being a feature. The location is a great base for all the cairns attractions including the atherton tablelands and Port douglas.

Great stay at Argosy On The Beach!

My wife and I and our 18 month old stayed at Argosy On The Beach for 1 week in early June 2017. First of all, the management staff were terrific. I had a bout of severe sinusitis from the flight and we were at risk of not making the check-in deadline because we were frantically trying to get a doctor's appointment. Karen stepped us through the after-hours check-in procedure AND kindly made an appointment for me at the local GP clinic. They were also very helpful when recommending local activities for us.

The 2 bedroom beachfront apartment was exactly what we wanted. It was showing some age, but was well furnished, comfortable and tidy. The fully equipped kitchen and laundry were great.

Argosy On The Beach is well located, sitting right by the beach. There was only one restaurant in walking distance, but a small shopping centre was less than a 5 minute drive away. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have a rental car. There is a bus running past from Cairns to Palm Cove, but it runs infrequently.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back. However, if you're the type that likes to laze around at a resort with restaurants and bars on site, then Argosy On The Beach is not for you.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here for four nights. We had a spacious apartment that had everything we could need, and the kitchen was very well appointed. The location was directly opposite the beach and we had a ground floor apartment, so that was a win too. We'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a base to stay while heading out to explore the area. We had a couple of long days in the car, and coming back to our big apartment and lazing on the couch was so good. The hosts were very helpful too and helped us choose tours that would work best for us.

I wouldn't recommend this place if you wanted a big resort to sit by the pool for your entire holiday - there are other places for that. But that's why I liked this - it was so quiet and Clifton beach is less commercial than Palm Cove.

Another note - the wifi was BRILLIANT, and so handy when we had some work to do (we stayed the next four nights at a place in Palm Cove that we had to pay $60+ for terribly slow wifi). Thank you for this!

Great condo on Clifton Beach

Clifton Beach is an easy 25 min drive from the Cairns airport. Know your roundabout rules before you head out as there are lots of them. We were greeted by a lovely friendly soul who checked us in and then took us out back to show us where to park our car. We were very excited when she pointed out about 10 Wallabies (we thought they were kangaroos) all feeding on the back lawn. We had a view of them out our back deck every evening.
The ocean view is limited as there are big beautiful palms in the way but it was still lovely. Just a walk across the street and you were at the beach. The stinger nets were a 2 min walk.

We arrived \"after hours\" at about 4:30pm on a holiday weekday. Prior to arrival we were given thorough after hours check-in instructions, which were flawless. However, when we opened up the envelope with our room key, it contained a letter with a few details, yet omitted the wifi password. I would expect that to be part of the check-in package when you arrive during business hours, or not.
Unfortunately, our 1 bedroom apartment was not as advertised. The Argosy website lists all apartments as having an ensuite bathroom, and an additional full bathroom with shower and tub. Our additional bathroom, not only did not contain a shower, nor a tub, but it didn't even have a sink to wash your hands! It was simply a toilet in a room, which is not what was advertised.
Upon arriving home I checked my credit card balance - as I often do- and realized the Argosy had charged my card the full amount for the stay, even though I had already paid through Expedia, and despite assurances giving my credit card details was only for incidentals. I immediately contacted them and they looked into the matter and refunded the money extremely promptly, which I appreciated. However, if I hadn't checked my balance, I would have been charged twice for the apartment.
