We had a great stay. The area is very quiet. There's a great cafe restaurant directly across the street and the patio of the cafe faces the sea. Every Saturday there's live music from 3-6pm. The bus runs runs right in front of the complex so it's easy to get to Smithfield mall in less than 15 minutes on the 120 bus or Cairns Central Shopping Center where you can find groceries at Coles or Woolworths. We really liked the apartment. The sofa and bed were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We would love to stay again.

The resort could use some upgrades in the living room furniture and air-conditioning. They also should ensure there’s enough toilet paper in the room before they arrive. We only had a partial roll of toilet paper so we informed them. They said they’d bring it to us the next day and never brought it. It only has a/c in the bedroom so the rest of the place doesn’t get the full effect of the a/c cooling system.

We enjoyed our stay here. As we had a longer stay and from interstate would have been good if when they did the refresh they replenished the Tea and Coffee etc. Also wifi was always dropping out and I used a lot of my data on my phone to watch Netflix, etc.

2 Day R&R stay en route to Brisbane is in an ideal location for the beautiful beach, great pool at the property.
Our apartment was spotlessly clean although the 3 flights of stairs with our luggage was a bit of a pain. Easy late check in and Ruby the next day at the desk was super helpful.
WiFi was awful but they are upgrading it and some smells from other people’s cooking but no real complaints.
A 10am check out was a bit too early for us compared to other properties like this we use.

Appreciated the early check that was great. I wouldn’t call the place a resort more a complex with some lovely apartments in desperate need of major maintenance it could be a beautiful place apartments owned individually and run by hotel management. Cleanliness was not the best and things were falling apart or not working in the apartment. One side of couch had a horrible smell wasn’t nice to sit there. No lifts so we were glad we were on the bottom floor even though we paid extra for an ocean view that really as t there. Pool area was lovely our little girl loved it. Overall it was good just in need of some TlC.

Floors were bit sticky. Property is way far from main area in Cairns. Try to find something closer to downtown even if you have a car. No front desk service after 5:00p.m. Best part about the property is a privacy. You have a bedroom. And a sofa couch in main room area along with kitchen. Just one bathroom. So not at all a bed choice if you are a family of 4 and needs more space as long as you are ok to drive.

The place was beautiful as it had an amazing garden which had a plethora of plant life that added to the peaceful atmosphere. The pool was clean and well maintained. The beach was opposite the property which was convenient. The room furnishing was old and the bathroom could use an upgrade. We stayed in the premium garden facing room. We were only there for a quick place to crash before transferring to another hotel near our final destination so we probablyvreally only spent about 12 hours there in total but it was very nice and comfortable with everything you would need for a small family or two couples. Had a beautiful large spanning balcony with seating and a a table as well with views down to the nearby beach. The pool area was welcoming and the gardens throughout were gorgeous! Not much tobdo around within walking distance other than a liquor store and Code which was avery delicious restaurant and bar about 2 blocks away. The guidebook for guests was a little alarming as they stated many things about havong a safe travel making it appear that the area wasnt safe at night. However we walked around and didnt understand the reasoning behing it. Overall it was perfect and i wish we had more time to spend there.

8 day stay and their housekeeping says you get mid week housekeeping if stay longer than 7 days. There was no housekeeping. Same towels for 8 days. Washing machine but you had to buy your own powder. Make sure you have your own body wash and shampoo as you only get enough for 2 days. Toilet paper also limited. No mop only mop bucket. Very out of date tiny tv.
Worst of all, the wifi is rubbish. It was like going back in time. Continual disconnections. Had to use my phone as a hot spot most of the time for streaming. Not up to 2023 standard at all.

This is a nice propery but as it is in a sleepy neighbourhood of Holloway Beach that it isn't serviced by busses often (hourly) and many excursion (or airport shuttles) don't pick up / drop off there. If you don't have a car, you will have to rely on Uber/ taxi.

The beach is across the street and is very nice, and the property has a nice pool. The unit we stayed at had a newly renovated bathroom and the unit itself is comfy and spacious, but it is otherwise a little on the older side and has room for improvement in cleaning (eg sticky cupboards / drawers).

Very pleasant stay for a week. Quiet area, beaches just a few steps away and supported with Cafes and short distance to groceries etc. Gardens are spotless and parking was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Be warned if you are staying on higher levels there are no elevators which can be difficult when transporting suitcases but then you are rewarded with great views. I could find the barbecue area but no barbecue. The Internet was patchy and needed constant resetting. The modem was old and would probably solve that issue. The unit was large and user friendly and everything worked despite being a little dated. It was furnished albeit basic but functional. I would come back to this place but recommend you have a car as it is north of Cairns city centre but we liked the area. The lower price reflected this and I recommend staying here especially if you wish to travel further north.

Unfortunate things were low toilet paper provided which ran out, no dishwasher tablets, wi-fi was inefficient and couldn't connect, dryer has no external ducting and safety cut-off operated after 5minutes, dishwasher broke down. The units are fully functional to ensure a comfortable stay and are just across the road from Holloway's Beach for a beautiful early morning walk to start the day. The resort is about a 10 min drive into the CBD for other restaurants and reef charters. Its an ideal, quirt location for a fun and restful holiday.

There are lots of ammenities in this accomodation in an affordable price. The dryer is one of my favourite ammenities. Our room os clean and the area is tranquil. All we can hear in the morning is the birds chirping. The close proximity of the bus stop going to the Downtown also makes it convenient to stay in. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again on our next visit!

Great place to stay when you are visiting Cairns. Close enough to be convenient - but far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the beach. The apartment (72) was lovely with everything you need for a comfortable visit. Cross the road to the beach to watch the sun rise over the water or just sit on the balcony with your first coffee of the morning. Wayne is very welcoming and knows lots about the local flora and fauna. High recommend this place.

It is right across from the beach and we could easily go for a walk.
Whilst the bed looked a bit uncomfortable, we were surprised how comfortable it was. The unit is spacious. The carpark is handy. Loved the lush gardens. There is also a book nook if you need some reading material.
There were 2 internet connections but both were extremely slow and often dropped out so we couldn't get anything done in the evening or other busy periods.
There is also a restaurant / bar across the road. The music was very loud and didn't stop until after 11pm on the Saturday night and at 6pm on the Sunday afternoon.
It is also under the flight path for the Cairns airport so it got very noisy.
The 1 complimentary soap was the tiniest I have ever seen in all my travels and the bath gel bottles were 3/4 filled.
Good size bath but at the upper level, on the Saturday night which was very busy, the hot water was very limited.

Not worth the cost

We had a ground floor apartment that was supposed to have a beach front view. Because it was a ground floor and was very close to the street the property landscaped the area in front with a lot of plants and trees which was very nice but obstructed any view of the beach. If you stood on the far right side of the balcony you could see the beach but that was right in front of the outside air conditioning unit that blew hot air on you so unless it was cool, not ideal. They had spot lights on at night which shone in the apartment. The interior facing rooms overlooking the pool would probably be ok. The condition of the kitchen was less than satisfactory but the redone bathroom was great. The free wifi was almost nonexistent as it was so weak it would cut out continuously and you had to sign back in. I had to do that about ten or fifteen times during our one night stay. Overall the place was not bad but since we only stayed one night the cost of 260 Australian was really way too much for the apartment.

There is no free WIFI available in the units. Only outside.
There was no Optus service anywhere in Holloways Beach. Only in the CBD.
Shower floods the bathroom. Be prepared for sopping wet feet.
No dressing mirror.
Very noisy bedroom fan.
Bed was very lumpy and rock hard.
Smoking down below unit wafted up to the balcony. Not great for asthma sufferers.
Beach not suitable for swimming.
A long way out from the city centre.
A couple of cafes. Very basic.

We enjoyed our stay at Cairns Beach Resort, the management was great and very helpful on things to do, the rooms are spacious and well maintained. The pool area and entrance are full of beautiful flowering plants, the restaurant across the street had a great menu and the food was perfect. Be sure to walk down the street to the pizza place, the pizza was fabulous and the you can buy your wine from the liquor store next door and take it to drink on the outside patio of the pizza place.

A very decent hotel

If interested in a hotel that is (almost) on a beach and away from the noisy Cairns, this is a very nice choice. The room is actually an one bedroom apartment - at least ours was- with an ocean view balcony. The pool was a welcomed option in the evenings. The owners are superbly helpful. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

Hotel was nice and close to the beach. However, if you want a hotel on the beach that's swimmable for the kids, this may not be the place for you depending on the season. Water is a little harsh and there's a lot of sea creatures that may not make the swim so pleasant. If you want somewhere nice and relaxing this is the place for you if you don't mind going to another beach to get in the water.

Great restaurants to eat close by. Small mom and pop places. It was great. Highly recommend.

The Cairns Beach Resort is well located just north of the city across the road from the beach and the Straight on the Beach Café that serves really good coffee, while you take in the simply delightful view. Holloways Beach is within a short drive of Cairns for access to various charters including trips to the reef, one of the islands or other form of charter such as fishing or jet skiing. The resort is also well located for access to the northern beaches and a range of eateries including Yorkey's Knob, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove and a bit further north, Port Douglas.

The weather was fabulous, 27-30 in August, just delightful! We will certainly come back to Cairns for the weather, the people and the variety of things to do in the hinterland and out on the reef.

Our experience was not great due to there being limited catering facilities on premises and noisy guests. You need to purchase supplies prior or have an over-priced breakfast at the cafe across the street. The self-catering facilities of the apartment were extremely basic, no dishwasher and, without a range-hood/exhaust fan, just cooking toast sets off the alarm. There were extremely noisy guests; parents and kids screaming and running up and down stairs - this was every day during our five-day stay. Reception was close to the action but were waiting for guests to complain before managing the situation. I raised the liability concerns for the resort if the kids were hurt or if they knocked other guests over but they said there was not much they could do. I suggested a friendly sign to remind people about respecting other guests and safety - even in schools they have these and it's something kids can relate to. However, they did not seem interested. Lovely resort with fabulous staff!

This resort is in a really lovely, quiet area and is located quite literally, on the beach! The staff went above and beyond and were so friendly and helpful, a real delight! The room was comfortable and clean, with the kitchen stocked with everything we needed for cooking all of our meals. I would highly recommend a stay here and would love to come back the next time we holiday in Cairns!

good hotel, but remote location

Rather good hotel. Suits have spacious bedroom and living room, bathroom was recently renovated.
It is hundred meters from the ocean beach with lifeguard. Ocean usually has surf and water is murky, but hotel has rather good pool. There are rather few dining options, nearby restaurant works only few evenings in the week. Cairns is 25 min by bus, and hotel offers onsite car rental.

Had a great experience! It's a great place to stay. The family is really friendly and informative of everything that North Queensland has to offer. The resort is quiet and secluded. The beach is just across the road, with a great breakfast place across the road.

Perfect Position and Place

Great people. Helpful staff. Perfect position right on the beach. Close to a nice bar on the beach. Take aways wonderful and tasty. Fishing up at the creek mouth excellent.

Great location and reasonably priced

Had a great stay . The location and resort was fabulous. Wayne and the staff were great. The gardens were sensational. Rooms were maybe a little dated and the bathroom could have benefited from a little ' exit mould' but that is nothing in comparison to the positives !

Nice hotel, a bit far out from Cairns.

Nice and clean, friendly and helpful staff. Asked for a beach view as we were celebrating my wife's 50th. Got it, along with a complimentary bottle of wine. Some amenities in the area but Cairns was a 10 minute drive away.

Great place

We stayed in this resort for three nights. It is located outside of town but there is a bus that takes you right to Cairns. There is a beach across the street and a little pub/restaurant that has great food. There is a small grocery store and bottle shop just down the road (minute walk, if that. Same location as bus drop off). The staff are excellent and very friendly. *note, no elevator skin be prepared to carry luggage up (possibly) three flights of stairs.
