Tropic Towers is a very good option for a stay in Cairns. The apartment was clean and all facilities were there, including free WiFi and the essential air con. There was even a swimming pool although we didn't have the opportunity to use it. We arrived late after reception was closed but all instructions for late check-in were communicated beforehand. They also let us checkout a couple of hours late as we had a later flight out.
The building is someway from the centre of Cairns but being situated on Sheridan street which is the main highway through the town means just about every bus service running stops just down the road and has you at the central bus station in minutes and all for a 50cents ticket.
Locally there's a convenience store in the petrol station just over the road and a couple of minutes walk there's Dunwoodys Hotel which serves food and drink and has a play area for young kids. Next door to the hotel is a Liqourland. Further up the road there's some more shops including a tobacconist and a Hungry Jacks (Burger King in the UK).

we had a very bad check-in experience. we booked one night, then skipped one night and booked two nights because we went to over night dive cruise. when we were back from diving, and did second checkin, reception lady was so mean, she told me this was a private property, I should not bother her by pushing bell, i looked the window sign, it said 'reception and tour', i thought she worked only for booking tour, i imediately apologied to her, then i looked through my email to see if i missed email from property manager for checkin, she looked us, then started to ask questions, like when and how i booked, the end she found she made a mistaken because of two bookings, the big problem was she was the checkin staff, and she should not have that bad attitude, she gave us one 2 bed rooms for one night, then we had to move to two seperate 1 bed room, felt really bad, never met people like her, so mean.

We chose this property for its proximity to the airport but did not enjoy a peaceful and comfortable stay. There was a lot of road noise inspite of windows and doors being shut with AC on. Reception was non-existent so no information about the area is provided. It didn’t feel terribly safe. The walk to the esplanade was about five minutes which was nice but it was not well lit. Our hallway smelled faintly of cigarette smoke.

This property was great value, and very spacious with a lovely little bath to soak in, while taking in the bird sounds, and the swaying palms overlooking the balcony. Close to town, but set apart from the main busy area, it was perfect for our stay, and was even better than we had imagined. Check in process was easy and seamless. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The apartment is on a busy road at an intersection. There is constant noise. The staff are friendly and gave helpful advice of the area and attractions of Cairns. The apartment was as discribed and suited our needs. For us we found the bed a little hard.

The traffic was a bit noisy as we were near a main road, and as we didn't have a car it was a little inconvenient not having any supermarkets within walking distance. However the bus was very close and we were able to go into Cairns shops quite easily. We had good service from reception when we ordered a shuttle, and when we were late getting in when we first arrived.

The hotel is exactly as pictures unlike some hotels stayed at , even though in self cointained unit the towels where changed daily and bins emptied which was great , very close to great pub across the road and 5 minute walk to IGA and take away shops 2 minute walk to sea so great location , office staff very helpfull and even after hours met us to let us in and still helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay good

Hotel is situated a couple of streets back from the beach and within easy walking distance to the central area (about 20 mins), alternatively the bus stop is outside.
The room it’s self was nice, probably dated towards the late 90s early 2000s but had everything needed included a washer dryer. The hotel is well priced for its facilities.
The staff went above and beyond, allowing early check out and printing a few documents I needed.

The apartment was exactly as we expected, clean and tidy with all the facilities they advertised. We had sea views which was great. We were a little bit out from the town centre, but we knew we would be and it was a lovely walk along the esplanade to the marina, and lots of bars and cafes. We felt safe walking back at night too. A short walk in the other direction got us to the botannical gardens which were great. There are plenty of bakerys etc around the apartment block as well.

We recently stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the fourth floor. The views from the balcony of the harbour in the background were lovely and relaxing. The apartment was very spacious and very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for our 10 night stay. Our accommodation was well located only being 5 minutes by car to either the city or the airport. Parking was free and we felt the standard of the accommodation at Tropic Towers provided exceptional value in terms of daily rates and in comparison to similar properties. The staff were very helpful and we would definitely recommend a stay at Tropic Towers.

The staff were so ameniable. We booked for a family, a couple and a separate family member at 3 different times and were lodged close by. The facilities were clean, in good condition and ticked all our boxes. Location was handy for the airport but a bit of a trek into town. Nothing too strenuous but it put you off returning to town in the eve and dining options close by we’re limited. We discovered a lovely breakfast cafe across the road for daytime, Coles Ex was handy, as was Liquorland and Friendly Grocer was a 2 minute walk away. Couldn’t fault Tropic Towers for a lovely, easy stay in beautiful Cairns.

We stayed in a one bed apartment with a balcony overlooking the pool area. It consisted of a kitchenette and lounge area, bedroom and bathroom which also included a washing machine and dryer.
The apartment was clean, very comfortable and nicely furnished. I would highly recommend staying here. We loved it.

We enjoyed our stay. The pool was lovely and convenient, and we loved the grill that was available to use at any time. Wish the location had been a little closer to the center of town, but easy to catch an Uber for $10 or walk the 20 mins if you are in good enough health. Staff was absolutely lovely, including the live in cats who loved affection. Laundry facilities in the apartment worked well, but little spending to buy detergent from the staff. Would recommend grabbing some from the local grocery store if you plan to do more than a couple loads.

Of all four places that I stayed in Cairns during my recent visit this place was by far the best. Very clean and quiet. Within waling distance to numerous restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store. Would definitely stay again

Easy location from the airport! Found some fast food and drink easily within a block of the joint!!! Easy access directions located in safe, after hours. Everything worked in the room and calling it a day and climbing into the comfortable bed was easy, too. Only disappointment was that aircon was set too low and I couldn't find a blanket to put on the bed. Otherwise all good.

I have stayed in many places overseas and within Australia.. and we found it great.. good size... private... clean and a lovely Lady, Helen at reception with Pixie the cat... just a couple of kms out of Cairns... perfect for us...

We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel except on 3 out of 12 nights the neighboring flats had a loud party till morning. Hotel staff were great. The room was clean and comfortable.
