The cleanliness need to be improved. Found long hair in the shower on the floor. Vent was full of dust. Curtain right next to the bed had food on it that wasn't cleaned off. A towel left from previous guest left outside on the chair that was used to sit on.

This room was very basic but could have done the job if (I’m guessing) the maintenance staff weren’t banging, yelling abuse, coming and going constantly, entertaining, and get drunk or off their face on drugs in their area right next to the room we were allocated at all hours of the night
No other staff on site at night

Not a wink of sleep for us and an earlier flight… do not recommend, things need to change!

This is a low-budget hotel, so the rooms are simple but well-aired and bright. The staff are fantastic! So kind and welcoming. And the hotel is well-positioned - 10 minute walk to everything.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

Ice addicts hanging around inside the hotel premises screaming and swearing, i had to call the police twice, music blaring at 6.30am woke me (no security or staff in attendance after 5pm), place was dirty, no wifi or internet connection in room. I checked out a day early and went to another hotel even though i had paid for a 2nd night.

The pool site is so bad no-one ever uses it. My room was very out dated. No hanging space, dirty carpets, poor beding. Best was the cochrache vistor that came at night. Eeeek!!!

Arrived after hours to find each bed only had one sheet on each bed THAT'S IT, requested more sheets and blankets but nothing avaiable. The two kids had to use bath towels as their top \"sheet\" for the first 2 nights, and the adults had nothing for the first night. For the second night *1* single blanket became available (yay?) so the adults shared the single blanket by placing it horizontally across the double bed to at least cover the top halves of our body. On our third and final night more linen became available and we were finally given enough sheets and blankets for 3 beds and the kids were able to stop using towels as their blanket. For $755 for 3 nights I would expect linen as a bare basic.

(Also this is the Sheridan NOT the Sheritan and it is not part of the Sheritan Hotel chain)

It was dirt and had mould on 90% of the roof and had just been painted over.
Crusty old milk spills still in the fridge.
Toilet and shower needed cleaning and you could feel the springs when laying or sitting on the bed. Pillows had mould stains and were discussing.

This hotel is old and dated, badly in need of renovation. In my bathroom, a patch in the wall had fallen off to reveal a dusty hole with old plumbing. The is no lift, so I had to carry my bags up to the second floor. Car parks are very tight. There is no dining facility.

There was blood on the cabinetry, the ceiling was covered in heavy black mould, the bathroom was not cleaned, the mugs were dirty, kettle was broken, floor was sticky like glue. Cockoaches were present throughou, cieling fan covered in dust, the balcony was disgusting ash and cigarette butts everywhere. Aircon worked Bed was ok. Very old facility not maintined at all. Very dissapointing

There's only one power point in the bedroom, across the bed. I needed one beside the bed.

The bedsheets felt \"itchy\". They don't feel comfortable.

There are no lifts. One has to walk up through a funny smelling and dirty staircase.

It was filthy, i was told the room had just been cleaned , clean sheets but thats all , in bathroom shower screens and wall tiles where not washed , floor had dirt in corners where it hadn't even been tried to clean .
Lock on sliding door was broken so a make shift lock was on door stopping outsiders coming in , curtains where so old the backing was coming off which allowed the light straight out side the door come in . The picture did not match the room i was given.
It would help if they put a big sign on door askinf guess to not let the door to go in or out after hrs the doir slam as you can hear it all night , i rang said after hrs number to complain about noise as the paper work said to and was told to call the police.

Under the bed from previous guests. Baht room had mould all over the floor the shower curtain had mould
And dirt all over it
The room was very unsafe as the door to the balcony was broken and could not be locked at all
The fridge had leftover food from a previous guest
There were cockroaches running around the room
I have never seen a property so dirty I my life before
The ceiling fans blades were black with build up dust.
I understand some motels are aging but this was just
Disgraceful filthy dirty
As a result I will never book another hotel or motel accommodation with wotif ever again
In my opinion you have a responsibility to make sure the accommodation you are hiring out is safe and clean
I did not sleep at all last night as I felt very unsafe and
Wasn’t going to sleep in the bed as the bed sheets possibly had not been changed as well. I photographed all of the dirt and mould an cockroach how can I send you the pictures
I am Not looking for a refund at all
I just want to forget the whole experience

No parking, combined with 20-30 walk to local sights, limited transportation. Good pools, however unlikely to be maintained or cleaned (like rest of property.

Staff consists of one person running front desk. Emily was very nice, but had NO housekeeping staff to assist. Housekeeping is terrible

The place was very dirty and the floors were not clean. The rooms on the lower level felt unsafe as the curtain was held up by sticky tape. This was not enough to block the public from seeing inside the room as there was no fence around.

DO NOT STAY HERE!
After checking in at 7pm from a day of travel our group was looking forward to a shower before going to get some dinner. We then found that there was no soap in the room for us to use, just a few traveller size shampoos. We contacted staff and were told that there was not a single person they could get to deliver soap to our room until 9am the following morning, which didn't work for us as we had an international flight to catch early the next day. To add to this we found that the room hadn't been cleaned properly with children's toys left under the coffee table along with 12 months of dust. We found that the Kitchenette drawers were broken and came off the runners only to help hide the cockroaches in there. For the lucky few that had received soap prior to us, there was a space above the shower in between the tiles and the wall which had used soaps and empty shampoo bottles littered in it. I wish I could say that my bed was comfy but it along with the lumpy pillows were a let down too. I feel absolutely robbed of the money I spent to stay here. It is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in even to the point that a backpackers or campsite would have been a better option for my family. Overall it was a terrible experience, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

3 1/2 stars is abour 3 too many.
1. I had to hold up the shower spout with 1 hand while showering.
2. The only cutlery in the unit was a solo knife.
3. While locating our grotty unit we were greeted by drunken guests yahooing in the algae infested pool.
4. The drunken yahoos decided that around 2am would be a great time for a loud party outside our room.
5. Reception was unattended so no chance to purchase laundry powder.
6. As I walked through this unit the tiles made sticking sounds onto the bottom of my shoes.
7. Rubbish under beds and behind doors.

If you’re after cheap accommodation this is certainly it. Lumpy awful bed & pillows, sticky floor, thin curtains that lets the sun stream in, you can hear the water pipes of other apartments, dirty creepy stairwells - There was dirt and clumps of hair the whole time we were there so no cleaning happening. Reception staff weren’t friendly. You have to use the side entrance after the reception closes at 5pm. The little pool is ok. The cleaners are not friendly either and they push their spare towels etc around in Woolworths trolleys. The toilet is in an uncomfortable position jammed between the wall, shower & basin with the shower curtain sitting on your knees and you can’t move it as it’s locked in place. The parking was very tight but grateful it wasn’t on the road. Room smelt like cigarettes when we first arrived. Loud traffic noises as on main road, no power points near bed, whole tap on the bathroom sink is loose, bathroom light flickering like a disco. I could go on.

No working A/C, no working WiFI, no working free to air TV…. Mould in shower, tap broken, 1 20ml shampoo and conditioner for 4 ppl to share. No hand soap or shower gel. 1 coffee mug but no tea or coffee. Fan sounded like it was going to crash down from the ceiling. Whole place was dirty and loud. No flyscreen and what looked like blood on the curtains. Photos online clearly from 10 plus years ago. It made me feel dirty.

Cleanliness was a big problem at this accommodation the curtains were so badly stained and even the outer curtain in yhe room wall lined with mould and the bottoom of the cutain had dirt stained all along it at least 30cm running up the curtains. There were cocktoaches and ant running all over the condiments bench coffee cups cutlery bowls and plates everytime i made a tea i was killing either ants or trying to kill the returning cockroaches. The fridge was all rusty and i took the pillow cases off and i was nearly ill they had huge stains all over them one had blood stains and one of the pillows was so old that inside the pillow the filling had all started the ball up together in big bundles. Even my dogs bed at home has better condition pillows than what i discovered at City Sheridan. Even on my balcony there were old cigarette butts that had obviously been there a while. Ever so disappointed and disgusted.

Nice Little Motel in The Middle of Cairns

It was an emergency booking owing to my flight from Papua New Guinea being delayed by many hours, thus had to make a last-minute booking for accommodation, while still in PNG and opted for Cairns City Sheridan Motel.
When I arrived at the motel after 11:00pm, the key to the room had been left in a night safe but unfortunately, it was the wrong key, and I couldn't enter the room. So, I called the manager who was not onsite at the hotel but some distance away...
No problem - she immediately set off back to the hotel to give me the correct key for the booked room.
She was very apologetic and most helpful so, the frustration I was feeling about the blunder was quickly alleviated by her prompt and professional action, which ultimately made my brief stay that Friday evening a very pleasant one.
The room had everything - more than I expected in terms of facilities. It was also a very clean & tidy, spacious room which also had a cute little balcony, complete with outdoor table and chairs.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in

This was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. It was very poorly maintained and looked quite tired and worn, the chain lock was missing from the door, shower had mould, bathroom sink tap was stiff to use, bed sheets were crumpled like they had been left in a basket or maybe not been washed since the last guest, the pillows did not smell fresh at all, the floor was slimy. We kept shoes on at all times, and wore footwear to shower. We had booked for 2 nights, due to exhaustion we stayed the first night but left first thing the next morning. When checking out, the lady at reception seemed to think we had picked up the wrong room key from the safe box at check in but didn’t elaborate or seem interested and asked no questions as to why we would leave our booking early. Would never recommend this hotel to anyone. We wanted a refund as we were misled by this site in regards to information and photos about this hotel but the hotels.com app doesn’t give refunds for cancellations after check-in.

The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel only a short walk from Cairns CBD, so very convenient. The TV in my room was not working. I reported this but no action was taken to remedy. It was noisy at night with doors slamming and rowdy young guys in the early hours of the morning.
