I booked it and then about 24 hours later they emailed me that the office closes at 4. I requested after hour checkin process. I didn’t hear anything for 12 hours and only received “call us urgently”. When I called the phone provided, no one answered. They finally called me after 8 PM and blamed me for poor communication and accused me of not calling! Zero focus on the customer and worse communication.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was large. It had all the amenities I needed. The only thing I would mention is perhaps put a picture of the 18 stairs one negotiates with 23 kg suitcase. Add a picture of the stairs. I know you say no elevator but a picture of stairs is worth a thousand words.

An easy property to stay in. So close to the coast and dining areas. Also walkable distance to shops. The stairs were a bit of a problem for us to get the suitcases up to our apartment. We are in our 70s. Room was very nice. Plenty of space. Bed a bit small and hard. Bathroom was fabulous. Great kitchenette. Some noisy road traffic if window open. Overall a great stay though.

I was visiting Cairns by myself so I liked the fact that there were only 5 units and they were in a secure building.
Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable, a simple bed topper might help ?

I come to Cairns often. Rooms are neat and tidy and spacious. Lake Street has some unsavoury folk and was awoken to some yelling matches in the middle of the night but can’t blame the accommodation for that.

Not so good for seniors as no lift. Stairs steep and raisers short plus one huge step at the bottom. Night light only comes on when you reach the top. Beds not ever made up by housekeeping. Only one chair at the table when booked for 2. Air con turned off by owners repeatedly so hot and stuffy upon return. Location excellent though.large room, hot shower. Beds good too

Overall the property was well placed and in good condition. I sould suggest the following to improve tbe stay:
1) need to supply 2 x face washers. The room only came with 1 face washer!
2) need to supply 3 bath towels , not just 2 for people with long hair requiring a hair towel.
3) need to have additional hanging rails in the bathroom. Currently there is no where to hang we beach towels , swimmers etc.

Very spacious, convenient location, felt safe. This was my very first solo trip out of the country and I loved Cairns. Even though there was no elevator, it was only a 2- story building. My room faced the street but it was fairly quiet(except for the occasional homeless person yelling out in the street). The apartment had everything I needed and the Woolworth was close by. Even though there's no reception desk, I was able to get ahold of staff when I accidentally left my key in the room.

I love Cairns. I came here for diving and snorkeling, Escape on Lake hotel is in a great location near the Esplanade, restaurants, the Aquarium and the shopping center. Rooms are clean, simple and quiet. Coming back to Cairns, I will know what hotel I will make a reservation to.

Room 3 at the front of Escape on Lake was nice, clean,modern, small but comfortable for 2 adults and we stayed 3 nights. Close to the centre of Cairns it is a quick walk to local eateries and also a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and also where the ferries leave for Green Island and Fitzroy. We were given clean towels each day, nice but would have been happy with one st for 3 days.
On the down side it was noisy at night periodically, which disturbed my sleep. The rooms themselves are above a car rental place and are up one set of stairs. There is no parking only street parking which is metered at certain hours.
