Good place to stay while diving the reef. Breakfast is nothing special but keeps you fed. Pool chairs and equipment, beds and general up keep fell short. Chairs really uncomfortable and the bed we had made a crap load of noise. Place was generally clean but lots of hair everywhere for some reason. Rooms are not sound proof - you can hear your neighbours talking or showering. We had a room of kids beside us screaming until 1230 but not the hotels fault on that.

The staff are all lovely, the hotel had some fun activities for the kids such as the reptile pet show at breakfast and games where they could win free ice cream which my 7 yr old loved. Not to mention the pool was absolutely amazing to swim and play in! My kids spent at least 6 hours on the first day we arrived. Would visit again

We stayed 5 nights at the Novotel in Cairns. Staff were amazing, housekeeping was exceptional. The buffet breakfast was delicious. The pool loungers need replacing as they are all old and had sagged and you end up feeling the framing cross bars underneath, which was very uncomfortable.

The pool was amazing, I loved the beach with the gradual entry. I loved that they left toys around for the kids to play with. The breakfast, though pricy was great as it was all so tasty and fresh with great variety. We did move to a larger room half way through our stay as 2 adults and two children in a standard room is not a lot of room. The kids had to share a queen bed as they were not able to seperate. Even when we moved to a delux suit with double the room they still had to share a bed only now it was a fold out couch 😂. There was a bigger kitchenette and a much bigger bathroom with a spa plus the table now had 4 chairs instead of two. Yet still only one luggage rack when there was so much space for another one? A comfortable plush chair next to the king bed would have been nice, we had to use a kitchen chair. The delux bathrooms are beautiful but there were spots of mold in the wettest areas in the shower. The bathroom door in the standard room was warped from the wet and paint and wood peeling and swelled at the bottom. That door needs replacing as it got jammed as due to warping does not line up with the lock. My daughter got stuck in there and took me 5 mins with a teaspoon on the lock on the outside to get her out. We were not game to lock it after that. The bathroom door in the delux suit was better quality. We really appreciated the icy cold air conditioning in the common rooms. The turn down service was great and reception staff helpful and friendly. Thanks

Has guest laundry.
Within easy walking distance to Reef Terminal and Central City Mall/ station.

Friendly staff, decent breakfast and pool but the room was extremely basic with damp patches on the wall curtains in a questionable state and ants (although they did leave us a can of poison). The whole room (deluxe family) in general was tired and in need of some attention. Our 'pool view' ended up being a roof structure, on the positive side the bathroom was more modern and large also having two separate toilets in the room was helpful with kids.

We wouldn't stay again unfortunately

Lovely big pool with good drinks & food, especially lunch. Activities for kids in the afternoon were really nice. Breakfast had good choices.
Limited sunchairs around the pool, but I did like the beanbags.
Great location just a short walk from restaurant and shops. Gym is very small and one of the machines did not work properly.
Lovely stay overall.

I was given a room in the outside building. I think the room number was 126, on the ground floor. I felt deceived because I paid about $400 for the night for Novotel’s brand and the room was no better than a motel room that I could get for less than $150.

All good except for a particular supercilious bar staff member pointing out an ambiguous directional sign. His belittling attitude was unnecessary and tarnished an otherwise great stay. We were celebrating my 60th birthday.

We had a great experience here. Checked into a room which had lot of sand in it. Reported it and got switched to another cleaner room.
Staff were excellent and very helpful but felt at times there were not enough staff at the front desk. It got crowded quickly at times and had to wait 10-15 mins to get serviced.
Breakfast was exceptionally good. It was a feast.

Overall the hotel is great (especially the pool area). Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Could do with a few more sun loungers around the pool, there does seem to be plenty of room!

Staff on the whole were pretty good aside from the odd grumpy member of staff at the pool bar, it was super busy though so maybe she was just a bit stressed.

Cleaning is OK, a few little things were missed (e.g. shower soap dispenser was not refilled as it ran out on the last day) but pretty clean and tidy otherwise.

Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

5th time staying here. Great hotel. Kids love the pool and swim up bar especially. Breakfast is fantastic. The other meals aren’t at the same high standard but there’s plenty of choice elsewhere nearby. Rooms are basic but clean and the hotel staff are fantastic. If you go at Xmas the hotel even has its own elves to deliver presents for kids on Xmas day ;)

Buffet breakfast is extensive, however there’s isn’t any whole food or sourdough options. And the GF selection is dismal and disappointing. So we all had tummy aches from the food. Stick to the fruit.

Even though the hotel is a bit older and some areas feel slightly dated, it’s still a good hotel overall. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the location is excellent, and breakfast offers a good variety. Some areas could be better maintained and cleaned, but overall, it’s a pleasant stay.

While the property and facilities were of a high standard, we were extremely disappointed with the time it took to check in to the resort. We stood in a long line for 30mins waiting to be served due to limited staff. This left us somewhat frustrated with our accommodation before we had even been given a room key.

The breakfast and the pool were both outstanding. Staff greeting the breakfasts guests were friendly (Melanie in particular) and added a good start to the day. The cleaning staff worked hard especially while guests were out. Lovely to come back to after a day in the heat. There were two minor issues which when reported, the handyman promptly fixed both issues the same day. The meals provided during the day and at night were not up to the same standard as the breakfast. We ended up going to external restaurants to eat. Outside the hotel there is accumulated garden rubbish/branches that should be removed as it lowers the look of the hotel, compared to the standard inside the Hotel.

It is wonderfully located, the perfect distance from the noise, but only two short blocks from the coast. Cafes, restaurants and the night markets are really close And the buffet breakfast, whilst predictably chaotic at times as there's lots of families) was wholesome and varied enough to be a great bonus.

From first arrival we had nothing but issues. We had organised 2 months ahead of time that we needed adjoining rooms, told via email that our booking was amended and it wasn’t. Female front desk worker was not friendly or helpful. First night we had seperate rooms which caused issues with children, had to sleep on very hard rollaway bed so they were not in different rooms. Manager George was great and did manage to organise us adjoining rooms for the remaining 2 nights, however we never got the twin beds booked we only got king beds. Once we arrived in new room the cleaning staff barged in without knocking as we were getting dressed, very unprofessional. Lift also broke down, I’m in a moon boot and had to go down 4 flights stairs carrying a suitcase. Power went out on one occasion but was restored quickly. Pool area is great however no policing of the sun loungers and people reserving multiple even for children who are swimming in the pool, which is really not fair. Food was also mediocre considering the price. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Great hotel for young families in Cairns. Close enough to talk to town and to Muddy’s playground, right next door to the aquarium. Fantastic pool which my kids loved and so nice to have some activities during the day and night for the kids/family. Food service is a bit slow at the restaurant but otherwise breakfast is great. Will definitely be staying again when we next go to Cairns.

Feedback - Staff slow to clean up food and beverage foodstuff waste. It’s left on tables far too long preventing people wanting to take a seat or sun lounge because of the leftover waste. Also birds come and feed off the leftovers.

This resort is in a great location and had an awesome pool for the kids (minus the water being freezing)!

The rooms were pretty standard, beds are definitely on the older side and there is no fan in the bathroom so a lot of condensation on the ceiling which is starting to discolour. Our toilet also kept making running sounds every 5 minutes which kept the kids up at night and was very annoying.

The staff here are so lovely and the cocktails are amazing! Although it wasn’t the most modern or up to date rooms I would stay here again!

Good property in the heart of cairns city. There were a couple of things that would have made our stay better. Although I requested a quiet room, we were placed right next to the elevators and they are noisy. Heard the annoying sound of the elevators throughout the night. The blinds are in adequate and did not block the outside light making sleep difficult. Other than this we enjoyed our three nights at the resort.

Door into room needed fixing as wouldn’t close properly. Curtains are filthy, drag on floor. place needs a good clean and new curtains throughout
