There were also insects coming up from the drains. They appeared to be roaches and small flies. Additionally, the smoke detector went off the entire first night. We did not sleep at all. We reported it to the office. They sprayed the room for the ants and fixed the smoke detector the next day.
However we lost one entire night of sleep.
They did not provide hair conditioner or shower gel. They provided small soaps that seemed old because they crumbled in my hand.
I would not recommend this place.

My stay was for 10 days, cooking facilities, dishwasher, washing machine made it pleasant & convenient. Would have been nice to have had a TV in the main bedroom but overall a nice establishment. Could do with a little updating & some cosmetic changes & modernising. No lifts to upper floors.

Very disappointing stay. I booked the hotel based on the good reviews and what it claimed to be a 4-star property. It turned out to be a nightmare stay for our family. The place is run down with very old deco. We had to lay a towel on the couch to be able to sit down as it looks so old and dirty. Kitchen cabinet door cannot be closed properly, microwave is dirty, glasses look like they have been used for 100 years and hardly transparent. The worst part is the air conditioning in both bedrooms are the old style window air conditioners. It is extremely noisy when turned on. None of my family had property sleep for 3 nights. We had to turn off the air con before sleep and left only the ceiling fan running through the night. Daytime e temperature can hit to 35 degrees in tropical Cairns and the heat is just unbearable when air con is off. My 70 yo parents can’t stand the heat so I gave them ear plugs to put on so they can leave the air con on at night. My partner and my 2 yo son wakes up several times at night due to the hear or the noise from the air con. No one from our family had good rest during the 3 nights stay. I don’t normally leave bad reviews as I understand it is hard work to run a business especially a family business. I have no issue with the management as they are friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t had booked it if I knew it’s more a 2.5 star motel style property. Maybe it’s a Cairns thing, it’s just not a 4-star property that you would normally expect.

We didn't know what to expect since we arrived Saturday late afternoon, however the entrance box and instructions were easy and clear. The unit is large enough for 4 people willing to cook the essentials,breakfast and sometimes something on the Barbie at nite in front of the pool. Sometimes was crowded with others (large families took hours and stay around making us retreat to other plans.The pool was good although a warm jacuzzi will be nice. Parking very convenient. All in all we had a good time and will come back.
