The 3 bedroom apartment was ideal for 6 people with 2 king beds for adult couples and 2 single beds for kids. Excellent location with city center within 2 km walk. Ground level parking for 1-2 vehicles. Ocean view somewhat obscured by trees in the park across the street. The beach view featured in the website photos was taken before the park was developed..

Due to miscommunication and flight delays we arrived at 1 am with 2 screaming toddlers and no key code and had to rouse the owner on the emergency phone to get into the building. We got in only because our taxi driver had run into this before at Water's Edge and talked us through the process.

Our family of 7 stayed in unit 1 for 7 nights. The unit was spacious with enough room for a large group. The direct access to the pool was a big hit with our children and saved the fuss of packing up the family for a trek to the pool every time the kids wanted a swim. Muddys park and cafe directly across the road was handy for the kids to wear themselves out every day, The staff where all friendly and accommodating, including the house keeping who happened to come every day to service our room when our disabled daughter was sleeping. We would definitely recommend this accomodation to our family and friends. The only negatives would be the amount of glass furniture and breakable decor with kids was concerning, we had to move a large amount of breakable items out of our children’s reach. The sun from dawn till after noon was scorching on the front patio and in the pool, some form of shade would be amazing to take advantage of the great location and the swim out pool. Overall a fantastic unit, staff and location.

Well first of all there is nothing wrong with the property itself it is the location of the property that is the problem .Directly across the road is a large council playground and a Cafe called Muddy’s , well from about 7am to 7pm everyday all you hear if you have the windows or sliding door open is screaming kids , delivery trucks , and cars coming and going. The only way we could get any peace and quite was to shut all the doors and windows.

Checking in was excellent. Plenty of room for 4 ladies for our long weekend. Carmel gave us great tips for our 5 day stay. Location was great, however Friday night is a little noisy due to children’s playground across the road. Muddy’s Cafe across the road has fantastic coffee.

This apartment was better than expected. The building is very clean and quiet and the experience was wonderful. The unit is very bright and open and very clean. Rooms had ample space even for international travelers with lots of luggage. Parking garage is easy. Our favorite feature was the wonderful balcony. This is fully furnished and made it easy for us to enjoy morning with coffee, mid-day for some sunshine and evening with a glass of wine or a cocktail. The views are refreshing. We were very pleased with the front office staff, they were very friendly and made this a wonderful experience. I would recommend this property to anyone.

Since our group consisted of five members of family and friends, it was important to find a location that could accommodate our needs. We needed 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as be conveniently located to the city, shops, grocery store, restaurants, etc., as we wanted to explore the streets and walked everywhere. And we found all of that at the Waters Edge Apartments in Cairns. We were very happy with the location -- it was only minutes away from the grocery store, restaurants, and the night market. We enjoyed walking along the Esplanade, which we found amazingly beautiful and safe. The apartment was clean and convenient; however, the only complaint that some of the group members experienced was the mattresses in two of the bedrooms. The twin mattresses seemed to sink in, which made their sleep very uncomfortable. Besides that issue, we all agreed that we would stay at this location again.

Our view faced a toilet block
We booked a 3 bedroom swim out apartment 4 months prior to arrival. Despite the building being near empty when we arrived they stuck us in the apartment which faced the toilet block of Muddy Creek Cafe. This side was also next to a cheap and noisy motel. Added to that because it was on the ground level, there was also an issue with security, because the children’s bedrooms could easily have been reached from the Abbott street side through a patio entry.
Obviously the managing agents did not want repeat business from us, nor will they get it.

This is possibly the best apartment accommodation that I have ever stayed. It had all the kitchen equipment that could possibly need the bedroom bathroom facilities were of the highest standard. The shangri la in Sidney should take note how it is done probably. Thanks to Greg and the team who made our all but too short a stay so memorable.

First of all, what I request is high floor with ocean view apartment, but I've got second floor with no view finally, this is a bit disappionted. And the air condition of two bedrooms have problem at the last day, we call to fix it but no one has come, and we call the second time, someone comes but it cannot be return normal. My friend lost her phone on the bus after a day trip return, she went to reception to want to get help, but the staff is not that helpful.

Great rooms , great location . The rooms on the end are the better ones as you can access the front gates better . It's straight across the road from muddys playground and they have a great cafe there as well . All up a perfect place to stay for a family .

We had a 3 bedroom apartment overlooking the ocean...it was just beautiful ..there were 5 of us for 3 nights ,there was everything we needed ....the managers could not do enough for us ...I would certainly recommend this accomodation to anyone and would certainly stay there again .would feel very happy to stay for a length of time .

Beautiful one day perfect the next, really comfortable. clean, modern apartment. Nice swimming pool - very clean and never too many people as some apartments are owned. A short walk to lots of good restaurants, bars and the Reef which was our biggest draw card - Ferry to Fitzroy and Green Island and Reef tours. The owners were lovely - so helpful with recommendations. Would love to go back!

Waters Edge Apartments suited my stay in Cairns with a 3 bedroom apartment providing a comfortable space for my family. The location was great and close to the boardwalk and shops.
Only downside was that we had to vacuum the apartment before leaving otherwise we would've been charged for cleaning service on top of the accommodation rates.

Nice apartments , clean and tidy
We stayed in a three bedroom apartment for 4 nights in a swim out apartment. Highly recommend paying the extra for the swim out apartment as you can enter the pool from your own balcony . Apartments were very well maintained and had everything you needed in the kitchen and laundry.

It was a VERY TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.....that the cleaners left our apartment with 2 doors open and pyjamas being thrown on the floor. We were so shocked to see our opened doors as we left our apartment very early in the morning and back home around 9pm. In other words, our apartment was opened for WHOLE DAY!
WE FELT SO DISRESPECTFUL when we complained to the manager, he replied \"Yeh... that 2 girls\". He DID NOT try to give apology and the way he talk was like ...\"none of his business\".
Obviously, it does not make sense to treat customers in this awful way.

Loved the apartment - great location - great view! The only thing that let it down was some small things.. It was advertised as 5 star - but the state of the apartment and its cleanliness was not. It was definitely clean - but you are a lot more picky when your expectations are so high. Marks and gouges on walls from where hooks used to be and just a general need for a proper clean.
A bit more shade around the pools wouldn't hurt either!
All in all we would stay here again - with just slightly lower expectations!!

Wow! What a place! Spacious and well decorated, this was quite a nice surprise after less than good in Sydney! Wrap around deck, huge kitchen, separate bathrooms, our family loved it! Only downside was the weather - cyclone Nathan rolled through which spoiled the view somewhat. We would love to come back. Hostess Tonya was great Zande very welcoming. Perfect location! Our favorite stay in Oceana!

Impressive and friendly hotel
First we went to reception where the man there had our room ready for us at approx 11am and was extremely helpful with everything we needed and told us a lot about activities we might be interested in. When we went upstairs and walked into our room we all said \"wow\" it was very stylish and inviting and had a great view to top it off. We spent a lot of time in the pool there was hardly ever anyone in it but it was huge and there was 2 of them! The hotel isn't smack bang in the action but it's only about a 10minute walk until you are right in the middle of everything restaurants bars shops its a pretty good location.

My confirmation email says wifi is included, but the apartment office said that's an error from booking site, not theirs, refused to provide us free wifi. after paid up, it's still barely usable as it is so slow

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. I cant find a better view apartment than this one. Near the main street but very quiet actually. Rooms are very clean. More facilities than I can imagine. Highly recommended.

The units were well appointed and very comfortable. Very close to the main walkway and ocean front. easy walking distance to the centre of Cairns city and an excellent bus service with a stop almost in front of the units.
The staff were most helpful and an outing was organised for you and the taxi service was a 5 minute wait.

Water's Edge was a fantastic way to end our 3 city tour of Australia. The apartment building was undergoing some work, but we were not bothered by it at all.
This apartments are located directly across the street from the water, not directly on the water. Views are somewhat blocked by the trees from the second floor but it is still peaceful. This apartment is a bit removed from the main part of the Esplanade, so it requires a bit of extra walking, but that's what helps it to remain peaceful, so we didn't mind. There is a grocer a few blocks away as well as a pharmacy along with tons of other shops.
The rooms were mostly clean although it was obvious that the bed skirts were not cleaned. The cleaning people come daily but they really only replace towels and make the beds.
Having a full apartment as oppose to a hotel room was awesome. There's a full kitchen and living room and HUGE furnished porch. Also, having a washer and dryer in unit was a big bonus. The pool looked so refreshing, though I didn't get to use it.
The apartment is a good distance from the airport, so expect to pay around $30 for the shuttle as the apartment does not have airport transportation.
The on-site staff is incredibly nice and super helpful. They booked us a tour and had many options available to choose from.
Wifi was also an extra fee, but they were so sweet hearing how difficult it was for us to connect with family back home that they offered it to us for free.
All in all a great place to stay. I would definitely return.

We cannot fault our stay in Cairns. We had no car for the duration of our stay but this was not a problem. Everything is within walking distance. Taxi from the airport was $20. We will be back.

Excellent and relaxing apartment
We stayed almost 4 weeks. No complaints throughout our stay. Craig and Tanya very helpful and obliging. Ideal situation near end of Esplanade but town centre within easy walking distance. Much quieter location than town centre. Higher apartments give wonderful views of sea, marina and vessels entering and leaving Cairns, including cruise liners. Lower apartments with direct access into swimming pools probably better for younger children in particular.
We have been to many parts of the world and we enjoyed Cairns and our accommodation more than anywhere else we have been. We do not go back to the same place twice but are seriously considering a return trip to Cairns and Waters Edge Apartments. The only downside is the number and length of flights from Northern Scotland.

Cairns is a tropical paradise with the Water's Edge right on the Esplanade. The Staff was always willing to work out our problems ... fob for overhead parking had to be changed out while stuck in the garage ... door key to our room had to be changed out ... tons of small non flying insects around the bedroom night stand ... unable to hook up to the internet via my laptop. Most importantly, I was disappointed that there wasn't any beach to swim at (during the day, the beach front looks like a vast barren mud flat ... something the locales don't include in their literature. Would I stay in Cairns again do to the beach situation? Probably not.

This is Cairns so we weren't expecting a high class place. This place is definitely not a 5 star apartment. It was clean at first and in a good location just down the street from all the restaurants and shops (FYI just a tad bit far to walk when raining). There's definitely other comparable places that were closer and at a good price but since most was booked this was one of our last options. The big problem we had was ants! It was make more sense if these ants showed up around food however they were all over the restroom too. We called the front office and they said pest control comes only every 5-7 weeks. Later that night they can by to give us big spray. We didn't think that was very professional. We had to leave very early in the morning so we didn't get a chance to check out in person. I wrote to the apartments to get our receipt and to let them know that our friends had gotten bitten from ants and the problem that they were all over. All I received in the reply email was my receipt and absolutely no acknowledgment of my comments about the any problems. An apology wouldn't hurt. Anyway I think things could have been better. Wasn't an awful place since it was in a decent location and we rented out an apartment with a swim out pool.

I think this is the best Cairns has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay at the water’s edge apartment; the view from the sixth floor was amazing. It had the perfect blend of the beach, the mountains and the ingredients necessary for the perfect summer escape.
