The room was immaculate! The hotel is centrally located so ease of getting around was perfect. The amenities were fantastic: wine in the room, bottled water, 24/7 coffee bar…all included in the room fee. I fully recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to return in the future!

Staff was nice, rooms were clean. Came during a very hot week and the AC worked differently. We were on the third floor in the middle of the building and there was a noticeable difference between 2nd and 3rd floor and even at the ends of cooridor. This may not be an issue when weather is less extreme. We didn’t love the neighborhood, but walkable to some shops and the dock where many boats leave for Great Barrier Reef tours.

The hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the central railway station and the promenade. The room itself was satisfactory; the bathroom was a good size, and the bed was comfortable, allowing me to sleep well.

There were, however, a couple of drawbacks. On arrival, I found a long black hair in the shower, which was disappointing, and the room did not smell particularly fresh. A strong odour of fried food carried up from the restaurant below, which lingered throughout my stay. In hindsight, I should have asked to change rooms, but as I was only staying for two nights, I chose not to deal with the disruption.

On a positive note, I appreciated the complimentary water and coffee available in the upstairs lounge area, which was a thoughtful and welcome touch.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Abbott Boutique! The hotel truly lives up to its charming description and offered several unexpected extras that made our visit even better. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep, and our room was kept spotlessly clean.

We particularly loved the thoughtful amenities provided, such as the tea and biscuits available, and the convenient ice and water station. The free laundry facility was a huge bonus, though we did find the drying process took a little while—definitely worth the wait for the convenience!

The location is fantastic, right on the Esplanade, putting us within easy walking distance of great food options and our scheduled tour pickups. To top it off, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

We would highly recommend the Abbott Boutique for its great service, comfortable rooms, and excellent location!

Very close to reef terminal for tours. I loved the fact that towels were available as well as a free laundry facility. Staff is often not at the desk but they are often watching CCTV that covers the front desk and come when needed. It is very clean, towels are nice, location is close to many restaurants. They are well organized and check in went well. The rooms are serviced every other day routinely. They did forget my bath towels after service but this was minor in my opinion as you can get your own.

There is almost no one at the front desk (though safe because there a code to get in) and when we checked in late at night without a blanket on our bed, it made for an restless night sleep. The lone staff member was very helpful, and very nice. She was accommodating, and assured we had everything we needed for our stay. We arrived early afternoon, and checked into our room fairly quickly. The laundry amenities were great! We were able to do our laundry right after we got to our room before we hit the town. Towels and bath soap were readily available for use. We had the ability to grab what we needed when we needed it. Check-out was convenient and very easy too. We were able to drop our key off since we had a very early flight. We enjoyed our stay overall, and were glad to have picked this location for our trip!

There is nothing fancy about The Abbott - it provides accommodation. But it does that very well. The experience seems formulated on the expectation that guests will source all their meals externally, which is reasonable given the close proximity to a multitude of eating places. Also easy walk to the piers. Inside, the room was quiet and comfortable. Great shower, good array of complimentary toiletries. We enjoyed a Superior room with street frontage (room 201); would recommend trying to obtain this or similar if considering The Abbott.
