Staff were friendly and we are made to feel very welcome.
Building is dates but under renovations so will be improving.
If I could improve one thing, it would be the dining, dinner options did not interest me and buffet breakfast would be great with quality produce and better variety.

Ok if you just need a cheap bed

Hotel is undergoing refurbishment. Builders everywhere from 7:30am to 3:30pm drilling and banging. Available rooms are old style but clean and tidy. Staff were great and breakfast was good with many options. It’s a cheap hotel in a good location - so if you just want somewhere to sleep this is an ok place.

We were put in a really old room and Air Con didnt work and then when we complained we were moved to another room that had been painted and was slightly better than the last room. The interior is still in the 70's and run down. Only positive is closer to the airport and the beach but thats it. Restaurant not open on a Sunday either.

Getting a bit long in the tooth! The property is aged and everything thing is a bit tired and battered, they’re currently renovating though and I think the price reflects that. The staff were pleasant and the rooms clean. We only stayed one night for transit.

The room was clean, and the beds were nicely done.
I didn't like that a liquor shop is located inside the Hotel lobby, strangers from the street just walk in and buy alcohol and sit in front of the hotel and drink, so I didn't feel safe coming back to the hotel even around 7pm or 8pm.there is no separate area in the lobby for hotel guests.

I wish I had looked at the reviews before I booked this reservation. The rooms are in worse condition than the photos suggest. If you shower with the bathroom door open, the steam will start the fire alarm. We had a great view from our room but the location of the hotel is a bit secluded but doesn't prevent you from reaching the city center.

Property is clean and maintained. Fire system works well(Tested twice). For a 3 star hotel on the esplanade is very good value for money. And as I flew out the I could see the Acacia court hotel is the closest to the airport, due to the little short cut at the end of the esplanade.

It’s a great location and on the cairns Esplanade.The whole place needs a very thorough maintenance and facelift.The rooms very spacious and great .The air con needs attention as it just had water on the floor and is dangerousl for one to slip.Sad that the bar and restaurant needs facelift and isn’t inviting for people to come enjoy socializing.There’s only front manager so it sends a bad vibe to attract customers.Great spacious car park and we loved the room.Please take note the whole building needs facelift.

Great views & location on the esplanade. That was about it unfortunately.

Ants in the room, fire alarm wake up at 4.30am to evacuate and then again once we got back to sleep. No explanation or apology. People squatting/drug dealing in the burnt out house next door, didn’t feel safe walking at night near the property. Place is in a state of disrepair a lot of things are very old and broken, lighting, air con, weird smells around every corner.

If you need a cheap place to stay and rest your head if you are out travelling cairns it would be fine but I wouldn’t return/recommend.

Looks like the rear block (flats) is being used for emergency accommodation. Obvious permanent's there in their yard clothes, no shoes, loitering.
Doesn't feel unsafe at all but not what I expected from a motel on the esplanade.
Room was clean but looks like it's had a 1975 revamp; wood and laminex. Bathroom also clean but looks old.
There were no diners in Charlies at all, so we walked up the street for dinner. Not the popular spot it once was.
Haven't stayed there for about 10years, won't be staying again. It was about $30/night more expensive that another property up the road that feels like a 4 star property.

Great cleaners, no probs asking to make up room or bring fresh towels.
Staff were helpful as aircon didn't work one day, but problem was addressed and fixed immediately.
Fast elevators, mostly quiet Hotel except one night we had rowdy neighbours, but that could happen anywhere.
Nice view of Cairns Esplanade from 8th floor with balcony and good block out shutters for morning sun.
Parking is non specific, park anywhere, sometimes the car park was full and our vehicle had to park on Lake St, but that seemed ok.
We were a little reserved after reading some reviews of Acacia Court, but after our experience staying here I'd be happy to give it a good rating

On arrival, I noticed the lobby smelled of urine. Sadly, it gets worse. This hotel looked nothing like the photos, very outdated, run down and dreary- hotels.com should not be losting this as anything less than a 2 star property. Incredibly unsafe at night time, with the entrance surrounded by drunk people and bottles being smashed. Room smelt musky and no fan in the bathroom.
The breakfast was terrible, restaurant/ bar never open. Pool closes at 6pm, way too early for the warm weather of the area.
Housekeeping staff friendly, reception staff very, very ordinary.
I arrived late, the code I had been provided for the safe to access my key did not work, one washing machine in the laundry to service the whole building and had to wait hours for other guests to do several loads before I could use it. I paid for laundry yet there seemed to be others just turning up to use it without doing so.
Honestly, do not stay here. It's smelly, old, dangerous and an absolutely rip off.

We managed to get a last minute booking and I also messed up my dates, they were very accommodating.
We started in a dodgy place before moving here last minute and we were stoked with the view, the comfortable bed and the clean amenities. Everything with adequate and our room on level 8 was quiet.

Went to use the spa - wasn't working. Might need to ask reception to turn on? Was too cold for pool but would have used if warmer.
Restaurant food was average, but other places are only a 15 min walk away.
