Paid for an upgraded room and it was anything except upgraded. It was dirty, loud, and somehow only had 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for 2 adults. The balcony door didn't seal so the room was loud and drafty. The awning on the balcony made loud banging noises and I called twice to have it retracted and nobody ever came. And the phone didn't work to call the front desk so I know that it took 9 minutes on the phone to get a response from the front desk.

The TV didn't work; I was moved three times to address the matter. The phone also did not work; a technician had to spend an hour addressing this concern. it is not a 4-star hotel--at all. The facility is dilapidated, the rooms smelled like mildew and the shower floors were unclean. I will not stay here again.

This is a 3 start hotel at best. Rooms were outdated with scuffed walls and holes in the lampshades. Charging a resort fee for this hotel is wild. I stayed for one night and the property itself is not updated. Food also wasn’t good.

Hotel is located in a great part of Boston and very convenient to airport and sights. We had an issue with the heat in the room and stag was very responsive and immediately checked on the heating unit - it couldn’t be fixed, so they moved us to another room very quickly. All staff were professional and very pleasant!

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed here at the Bostonian this time around was not a five star check-in went well. They held our luggage. Staff was very nice but when we got to the room, there was no fridge no coffee no coffee pot no coffee mugs no coffee supplies. There were stains on the bedding. The phone didn’t work to call room service. we called room service from our cell phones. They delivered our food with no silverware and then we had no hot water the entire night we had no shampoo. There was only two conditioners for such a beautiful place in a beautiful location. We were very disappointed in this stay. It’s unfortunate.

The staff was excellent and the building was nice. But I feel since we booked through Expedia, the staff checking me in asked who I booked through, we were put in the bad section of the hotel. Our room was in the back and there was a night club banging all night till 2am. The view was a brick wall. The room was drafty and asked for xtra blankets only gave us 1. Friends booked through the hotel and their room was great with excellent view. They said they had a great night sleep and was a quiet night. Not sure I would stay there again if given an option.

Check-in was basically a person handing us a room key card. Any info we received was because we asked. I overheard the very attentive man at the next station check someone else in and he gave much more info, and was so much friendlier. Many questions I asked were based on what I overheard. Room was outdated. Room service does not exist - there is an adjoining restaurant but you have to pay cash or card because they are not connected to the hotel and the food was not good, but expensive. Overall disappointed with the hotel.

Our second time staying here. Both times I'd give 4 stars overall. However, this time we used valet parking. My daughter was returning to college after our weekend trip so she had everything in the car. We left her clothes and completely forgot she had wrapped gifts in the back for someone in the backseat.
When our car was returned to us upon check out, there was an item on my front seat that's normally in my center console and later we realized two of her gifts were not in the bag.
I take responsibility for leaving them in there - but we will never use their valet again, which will likely deter us from staying all together.

Would not stay there again. The hotel is ok at best but very old and a run down in the rooms, the pictures online are definitely not a good representation of what you will be staying in. It would be what I would expect to stay in for $75-100 per night. So do yourself a favor and book one of the hotels nearby.

The hotel is in a great location and is very nice looking, however, they were out of regular coffee pods for the room and only had decaf! That's a deal breaker for us! Also, the hallways and lobby were very cold, the water in the shower also did not get very hot. The restaurant/bar attached, but run separately had a decent breakfast and drinks, but beware the automatic 20% gratuity!

- [ ] tv didn’t work the man who came was so great he said this happens all the time because the maids move all the furniture around and knock things loose (conforming the crooked furniture) then the next day the tv wasn’t working again we made do because it was just more of an inconvenience at this point with all the other things
- [ ] furniture was all just slighting crooked i know that’s not a big thing but like it was all at least 2 inches off just kinda annoying bc i had to push it closer to the wall or shift it
- [ ] bathroom dirty just obviously things needed to be wiped down. There was like old toothpaste residue , and like soap residue on the back of the door. spider and web all on the bathroom door as well
- [ ] weird treatment when we first came and ask for our amenities we asked for the robes that already are included and the woman was very rude about “it’s gunna be another charge” when i asked the price just to make sure and to double check that i hadn’t already payed witch i did she had to pick up a phone call but it seems as she just thinks we couldn’t afford it or didn’t like that we are a gay couple she then said i could go up to my room and it would be brought up none of my questions being asked.
- [ ] the fridge thing they brought up a new one put it kinda near a wall then we had to shift it to the wall to hide the wire from our baby this also didn’t have the medal rod to hold things on the door so ever time we opened it things fell out it was just inconv

When we arrived we initially got a room on floor 2. We could hear conversations on the street. We called the front desk and they accommodated us right away. They were very kind and understanding. I love that you don’t have to check out until noon as well. Their customer service was amazing.

Perfect location for us near Fanueil Hall, TD Garden and the North End. Paula at the front desk was helpful and professional. Josh the valet was courteous and welcoming. Nelson helped store our bags. The room was a little dated. Large and deep Roman tub was unexpected to climb into. Two odd poles from the ceiling in the room. Yet clean and also quiet for the location.

The room we got had a great view and the location was great. However the room was very cold even with the heat cranking. The bathroom tub,shower and toilet began to back up most likely due to freezing pipes. The hotel gave us a new room.

The staff needs to grow a personality. There is only one floor that has an I machine. And it doesn't work. I had to get it from their kitchen. When I asked where the ice machine was, a staff told me that it was on the 3rd floor. Didn't mention that it didn't work. I brought my ice bucket to the front desk and then they directed me to the restaurant. My room had half a window facing a building. The wall paper was coming off the wall and where were some weird brown spots in the tub and wall that kind of grossed us out. In all fairness, Im pretty sure it was paint. The place was centrally located in a nice area. But for the price, I expected better and am sure other similarly places offer nicer places. Im not staying here again.

Love the Bostonian Hotel. Close to every where we want to be in Boston. A quick walk to Faneuil Hall one way and short little walk to Mike’s Pastry. If a hockey game is your deal another short walk. The Bostonian Hotel is clean, the workers are nice and quick to help. Every room I had stayed in is lovely.

The room was literally facing a brick wall! Very depressing. Room was The room was so dark that the lights had to be on to even walk around in. I woke up at 9:00 am and thought it was still night time because of the wall.

Never had any contact with staff, but room was clean. Disappointing and would recommend that staff tell its clients that this is what they will be paying for in advance.

the hotel room was dated, our TV was broken. we called for maintenance to fix and although they tried, the cable didnt work. The shower had blackmold/mildue. there were only 2 towels (very rough!), half a roll of toilet paper and no kleenex in the holder. Our room overlooked an alley with dumpsters and trash pick ups in the early morning hours. We’ve always loved this hotel. very disapponted in expense and poor conditions.

The breakfast was terrible. The waitress was slow, the food was cold (all of it). The gratuity was included. There was a $5.25 TRAY charge!? What the heck is that? The pillows were small and not very soft. We had a view of the brick wall next door. The site said parking available, which is up the street or $68 for valet. Crazy!!

For the price the hotel was underwhelming. Room was clean but A/C was turned off, so no air movement, quick fix by finding the hidden on/off switch. No refrigerator in room which was annoying. Cheesy minibar that was empty and turned off. Water provided in little 6oz bottles that were unceremoniously placed on table in lobby within eyesight of hotel staff. The luxury toiletries are guaranteed to be an expired off brand. Oh and then the surprise $30 per night “destination fee” felt a bit like a scam. Wouldn’t stay here again, the tactics used to nickel and dime you are exhausting. Boston has too many hotel choices to waste time with this place.
