The Suites are a great spot, centrally located downtown. Easy access to mass transit, zero street noise, and very secure rooms. Shared water pressure/hot water can make having a consistently hot shower a bit of a gamble, but the shower are private, with locks.The room was very private, one window facing another building and wasn't facing the bed. The bed was comfy and the room was cozy with soft lighting. Three levels of secured doors making it very safe for a single traveller. Would recommend for those younger travellers who are "no frills" types.

The apartment was very clean and the location very convenient to shopping, the Commons and there’s a great cafe right across the street. The kitchen was fairly well equipped except my unit only had 2 spoons. One improvement would be the addition of some dish towels in the kitchen.
I had a great stay and would stay here again.

The property is in need of some tender love and care, very tired and in need of attention. The photos are not accurate as to the condition of the property. The rental units need a paint job and cleaning.

The location is good.

The smoke detector in the hallway was disconnected. The elevator only worked the first day. The units had several burnt out light bulbs. Stain on the walls and furniture. The bed in the first room was missing the box spring for the bed

Great location for this property. Definitely a low frills sort of place but such a convenient location-within walking distance from the Amtrak station. Convenient to pretty much anywhere you want to get to in Boston. Easy walk to Boston Common, Newbury Street, Beacon Hill, North End. Management was very responsive when we checked in and noted there was an issue with the heat and we needed a few more towels and sheets for the sofa bed. Some great options for food really close by. It was nice having a little more space than a hotel room for our family. Would keep this place as an option if you are coming to Boston, want to be centrally located, and don’t have a car.

The elevator did not work so I had to carry luggage up six flights of narrow stairs. No consistent water supply to the bathroom and the hot water was non existent. Could not take a shower and barely had the water pressure to run the sink. Bed filled the entire room so had to climb across bed to get to an area to put down luggage. Horrible experience. NOT A HOTEL

TLDR: fun location & it did the job

Pros: location was amazing!!! check in & out was easy, staff was very nice, decent price, three door codes made us feel very safe and secure

Cons: they can't hold your luggage when you check out so be mindful of that, our bathroom sink was leaky and there were no little face towels provided, couldn't open the windows, bunk bed was a little tippy & there was one section that was like...sawn off...we called it the tetanus pipe and it made us laugh (so is that a con? you decide), the hot water in the shower fluctuated from scalding to cold but the time in between was enjoyable

A great choice if you are comfortable with minimalism and prioritize proximity to stores and events rather than amenities. Security is comforting.

For the price, it was amazing. A beautiful part of Boston and easy access to amenities. Parking was not too bad, but it was expensive because it was a garage. The room itself was a bit beat up, but that didn’t really matter because I didn’t spend a lot of time there. So if you’re just visiting at sightseeing and not staying there, I would recommend it.

Knowing what I was getting into based on the reviews of previous guests, I was not shocked by the state of the hotel. I will say though I did not feel at ease staying there by myself. There was no way for me to bolt the door, and while it automatically locks on the outside when it’s closed, having the additional security would have been reassuring. The private suite was cleaned but not thoroughly (a previous guest’s claw clip was on the floor). Clean towels and sheets were provided. I enjoyed having my own oven, fridge, and microwave to myself, which to me is worth paying slightly more for. There were plenty of cups, bowls, plates, and utensils to use. It would elevate the aesthetic of this hotel if they took the time to make small repairs and clean the walls/touch up paint. The elevator was sketchy but I didn’t mind using it. The TV worked fine too. The hosts were very responsive and kind, and I wouldn’t mind staying again.

Housekeeping staff promptly met my requests for room cleaning to remove dust from blinds. Hot water came on eventually. Sheets and towels were clean. However, the entire hotel is both dirty (for example, carpets need a deep clean) and shabby. Shabby is OK, it’s not a big deal to have worn or out-of-date furnishings, but the grimy rugs and broken fixtures indicated lack of attention by managers to fundamentals.

Easy to find, great area to stay for a show, late night bar/restaurant across the street-was quiet as a neighbor but we were able to eat & drink after a concert.

Shared bathroom was always accessible when we wanted it. Bring your own toiletries-I don’t know why I didn't think of that. Room was so much bigger than we expected. Beds were very comfortable, tv was plenty big enough to enjoy. Full kitchen was also available to us which I didn’t realize we would have! Nice feature.

For a shared bathroom, it was rarely (if ever?) cleaned. For the three days we were there, the hand soap was never refilled. Loud upstairs neighbors stomping around at all hours. Too mattress on the bed did not line up with the bottom mattress/box spring and it was constantly falling off.

I booked a queen bed and only had a full. Honestly, it didn't even seem like a full size. In addition to be too small for myself and spouse since we're both very tall, the bed sunk in the middle. Even more frustrating is they promised to check on the situation when we left and claimed that the bed was a queen. I have pictures proving the size. The building location was great. It seemed ok and we had no issues accessing the unit. We did have to wait five minutes for a distillery located in the basement to unload grains the elevator. This place was bare bones. We booked cheap because we figured we were only going to sleep there anyway. Unfortunately, we really didn't get to sleep there since we didn't fit on the bed. There was a two seat chair that I was able to sleep on in a fetal position. I do not recommend this property to anyone over 5'6" or a BMI over 20.

The best thing about this place is the location. It is a half block from Boston Common and close to all the stores and restaurants in the downtown. Boston is a walking town, and from here, you can cover so much ground if you have good legs. The entry system was very good, and the management is very responsive to questions or needs. I was in a 6th floor studio apartment, which had everything I needed for a short stay. The whole building including the elevator (that only goes to 5th floor) is old and creaky, but this is downtown Boston. The toilet ran continuously the first day but as soon as I contacted the manager, it was fixed immediately. Unfortunately the 6th floor clothes washer was beyond repair, but the manager gave me the code to the 5th floor, and I was able to get my clothes washed and dried before I left for my next destination. As you can see from the photos, decor is not what makes this place stand out. It was definitely the location and price that sold me. There is a fair amount of city noise with garbage trucks and a bus stop below the building and impatient Boston drivers honking senseless behind them as they do their thing. All in all, I would stay here again under similar circumstances. One more thing, the shower was a pest with alternating hot and cold water that I could never to get figured out.

On arrival, the hot plate was not working and there was no kettle. Upon request, the issues were resolved the next day. It can be noisy some nights as it is close to the main street. Loved the apartment - would stay again

Great location downtown; perfect for sightseeing on foot. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Excellent communication from property management - speedy and helpful when i had a question or repair. Well eqipped kitchen; also iron, hairdryer provided. Extremely comfortable bed - i slept brilliantly. Light sleepers should note there is some noise from the street/buses passing below.

The elevator was broken for the entirety of my stay and there was no communication about it prior to my stay. I was on the sixth floor and me and my two guests had to make multiple trips up carrying suitcases up the stairs. The couch was sat on one time and on the first sit one of the legs broke so the couch was unusable for the entirety of the stay.

This was more like a hostel than a hotel and there was no staff on site, which showed. The shared bathrooms were terrible with peeling wallpaper, rust, and generally didn't look like there was much upkeep besides basic cleaning. There was a random pvc pipe opening to nowhere sticking out in our room and the mini fridge was plugged into an extension cord. The area was central to downtown boston but given the property, I would rather rent something further out than this place again.

I stayed in a private suite with bunk beds and a kitchenette. The room had a coffee pot, blender, dishes, utensils, and a dish drying rack. It had everything we would need, but I didn’t actually prepare anything. I booked this room for the location and economical price.
I loved the layout, with the love seat and tv in separate space away from the bed. I loved the ceiling fan!

The location was perfect. Right across from the commons. Right in the middle of all the freedom trail stops. The room itself was very clean and the beds were super comfortable.
The only thing I did not like was the shared bathrooms. There's some rusty spots, peeling wallpaper and they smelled very humid and musty. The fan in the closest bathroom was not working. You have to share with other people who might not wipe stuff down. So there was hairballs on the floor and loogies in the sink. So yeah...I spent as little time as possible in there. The only thing that makes this doable is that there are a couple bathrooms on the floor. So I suppose you can look for the cleanest one. But overall...if you are gonna spend most of your day out...this was a great location for a great price.

Ill start with the positives - great location! Within a minute of Boston common, surrounded by shops, cafes, theatres and train stations. There was a full length mirror (if thats important to you). Has good amenities, fridge, iron, cutlery microwave....And overall it was pretty clean!

Negatives- there is no front desk, they send you the check in codes via email only after you have sent them photo ID. Problem is, they sent us the request for ID the day of check in when we were on a 7hr flight from Edinburgh so we were stood on the street trying to call the reservations team. The room was quite shabby - fixtures falling off, no handles on cupboards, tv remote not working. The street the hotel is on is incredibly loud, even earplugs dont keep out the noise. There was a fan in our room and they had placed the vent out one of the windows so the window cant close properly and just filled the gap with a piece of thin plastic and duct tape, did not help with trying to keep noise out.

Even though it was pretty cheap, i would not stay here again

I really liked this place. Super central location. Easy walk to South Station, Beacon Hill and most other things. I walked back from Seaport. The bldg is a bit dated but that didn’t bother me. The locks to get onto each floor added a level of security. I stayed in the bunk bed room to have a private bathroom and it was fine. Plenty of space (no view from windows, but I didn’t care. Plenty of restaurants within 5 minute walk. Easy check-in and great communication. And priority for me was cost, and it was a great value. Will stay again when I’m back in Boston

Booking agents were helpful. We had the fire alarm go off on our second night there - there are no evacuation maps in our room or on the floor our room was on nor the main floor. We evacuated and got directions from the restaurant manager next door as to where to go to. Everyone just congregated right outside the door making if hard for fire dept to get in. Luckily everything was okay.

Room was decent bathrooms there were 3 on the 3rd floor for guest use, only found them all in use one time.

Booking agents were responsive to text about a bathroom malfunction and the fire emergency.

All in all it was a good stay. I appreciate the cost efficiency of the hotel and the communication.

Absolutely perfect location for a trip to Boston, just a few steps away from Boston Common, and about a 10 minute walk from Beacon Hill. The nearby Park Street T stop is an ideal downtown location to travel to Copley, Cambridge and South Station. Loved it!

This place is in an amazing location, very quiet, close to everything. We were there when the temperature was cooler than normal, the portable air con ran and kept most of the place comfortable. The bedroom needs an easy to do ceiling fan to circulate air, was our only recommendation. Place could be much warmer when summer hits. Highly recommended.

This should not be advertised as a hotel to stay in … the carpets smell and are disgusting, the elevator had trash bags that were smelling, one of the shared bathrooms were not working… and I think there are fleas on the bedding. I broke out in a rash and was itching after the second night. Hence I had to find another hotel to stay in for the third night.

Location, location, location! This was an amazing place to stay. When we look for accommodations, we look for safe, clean, and a good location. This place had all of these things. We were right across the street from the red/green subway line, Boston Common, and a short walk to Quincy Market, Macy's, and lots of shopping. We took a short subway ride to North Station and a commuter train to Salem for the day. Our room was a good size, had a double bunk bed with a super comfy mattress, and there were two full bathrooms across the hall that we never had to wait for (shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Management was great for contact by text. When we travel to a bigger city, we don't spend a lot of time in our room so we're looking for a comfy place to lay our heads and chill out at the end of the day. We appreciated the smart tv where we could login to our Amazon Prime and Netflix before hitting the hay. Would definitely stay again!

Temple Place Suites is a super budget friendly option while traveling in an expensive Boston area.
The location was fantastic, very close to multiple different train/bus lines. I never had to call an Uber the entire 3 day weekend I was there. Check in was easy, albeit a few minutes late. I was sent the code in the morning for my room and got there right at check in time. I could get into the building but my room was still being cleaned at 4PM.
It was quiet in the hotel the entire trip. Didn’t have to worry about rowdy neighbors or anything.

On the negative side - the rooms and accommodations themselves were very bad. The shower had limited water pressure and would go from very hot to cold about every 30 seconds. So it was a song and dance of taking a shower each morning.
In the bathroom and my room there were holes in the wall, peeling wallpaper, rusted ceiling tiles. There were no paper towels in the bathroom for my whole visit.
The TV was super slow and glitchy to the point I didn’t want any throughout the trip because it would play 5 seconds and then pause for a minute or so.
The couch had noticeable stains and brown marks across it.

Overall I’d say I got what I paid for. This was the cheapest option in Boston and I went with it. I spent almost no time in the room so it didn’t bother me too much. I’d stay here again. Important that anyone visiting recognizes that this will not be a pretty hotel stay, but you’re saving money that will be spent on lobster rolls instead

Would I stay again? ...last resort

I believe I was supposed to receive an email the day of arrival. I did not. That would have made check in easier. Instead I had to speak to someone I could not understand on the phone as we navigated the check in process. The would like you to text but that must be the same person answering phones so it is extremely delayed. Has we received the email earlier in the day, the response time would not have mattered nearly as much. The first door code didn't work but they were able to change it quickly, again through a muffler phone call. The room was compact and difficult to get around the bed. It was an old dorm and that is the best way to describe it. OLD. Every bathroom was different with peeling wallpaper and crumbling cabinets. Thankfully one of the bathrooms was tucked away so it stayed a little cleaner. Our TV and overhead light did not work. The repair man was sent the next day. He was great and fixed the light even though he was there to fix the TV. The air-conditioning unit was loud but not necessarily a bad thing when it was loud outside. Super convenient to the T and the Commons. If you don't want to pay $500 per night this place is doable. But if they invested some money into up keep it would be so much of a better option.

We loved it!

A clean and cozy little hotel. It's perfectly situated! We were on the second floor, with 4 bathrooms 2 kitchens and a laundry. Our bedroom had a fridge and a microwave. Very convenient after a long day. The check was very easy, we received a noticed about our bedroom beinf ready 2 hours before normal check in.

The staff response time to questions and issue were reasonable.
Two of three laundry rooms were down during my visit.
The status of the laundry rooms should be known due to staff use when cleaning and preparing the rooms.

This hotel was a more budget friendly option that I decided to roll the dice on since I had a short stay in the city. The condition of the property was atrocious: shared bathrooms had no paper towels, almost fully rusted shower equipment, all the wall paper was peeling all over and rough condition in every room in the building.

My room had trash in it that was never cleaned, my white towels and wash clothes were dirty. They did replace them for us that day, but still very displeased with my stay here and cannot recommend it.

The only positive, which doesn't say much about the hotel itself is the location. Easy short waking distance to many great locations.

There was a bed and a roof that kept the rain off my head. Overall the building is run down and the suite looks like someone slapped a coat of paint on a small old apartment. Extremely utilitarian but functional. Matress on the bed was bigger than the box spring under it which was weird near the edges. No exterior windows. What was there worked. I would not stay again.

This place is really well situated and very close to public transportation. There were many restaurants nearby.
The part I didn't like was that their heating system was really loud. It was like a rocket blasting off every 5 minutes. I couldn't sleep. Also there was a problem with entering the property. My family had to wait 45 minutes outside. When the person finally appeared he was apologetic. I did get $20 compensation for our troubles. However, I think if they had just given the code to enter, we could have been done in few minutes instead of waiting 45 minutes and finally getting into the room a little before midnight.
I think they should add hooks or something in the communal bathrooms because there was no space for personal stuff like towel and toiletries. I would consider staying at this place again but not if the same heating system is there.

It was good! There was miscommunication about the place we were staying in, in which I was told on the phone that the bathroom would be split amongst 6 people, however everyone on the floor had access to that bathroom, and it was a bit unclean (stains on the couch), but besides that it was a good stay!

Properly location was good and bed was very comfy for me. Heater/AC in the room was okay. The showers were rubbish, poor water pressure, it kept changing and also the temperature kept going from boiling hot to freezing cold.
Overall was okay and for the price and location, I would probably stay again.

The bed is super comfortable, self check in instructions are clear. Microwave, fridge, hairdryer and coffee maker all work excellently. The only downside is the shower hot water takes forever to start, and the heater is very noisy. It’s also close to the road, so the noises from the construction and roads are very noisy. Love the fact there’s elevator.

Thermostat was not functioning. A separate Portable AC/Heater unit was in the room that was too loud to run during sleep or when watching tv. The room was 58 degrees during our stay and it was absolutely uncomfortable.
