As soon as you enter the hotel, it gives you an impression of being a posh hotel. It has modern, tasteful furnishings in the lobby as well as the bedroom.
Hotel room was very clean. Reasonably sized. Comfortable bed. Bathrooms were very clean, with good modern fittings.
Another good thing is that the checkout time is 12 noon, so you're not rushed on the morning of checkout.
Good breakfast buffet. They have kind of an a-la-carte menu for egg preparations that was tastefully prepared. And it is part of your breakfast price.
One suggestion to travelers, there is paid parking right opposite the hotel which is much cheaper than the valet parking offered by the hotel.
If you don't think you will take the car in/out more than 3 times in the day, park across the street.
We will definitely stay here next time we are in Boston, as soon as the prices are reasonable.

The first room I stayed in (second floor, overlooking the Wholefoods parking lot) was just incredibly loud thanks to a vent from the car park opposite. It was no bother getting moved (very helpful at reception) and a fourth floor room on the same side was indeed quieter. But don't expect to sleep much beyond 6am: trucks start reversing (beeping!) to the supermarket delivery dock by then. All in all not much staff can do anything about

During my stay, I was informed by the hotel that the only guest benefit available to me was breakfast, due to the fact that dinner was not provided. Unfortunately, I did not have an appetite in the morning, so this benefit was not useful for me.
The main reason I was hoping to use the guest benefits was access to the observation deck, which was not available. This was disappointing, as it was an important part of my plans for the day.
While the room itself was fine, the very limited guest benefits and lack of flexibility significantly affected my overall experience. Clearer information and more balanced alternatives for guests would be appreciated.

Beware of charges. They advertise a $25 per day breakfast voucher per room. While it is true that they give the $25 everyday, it is not really to cover for the restaurant charges since you get it welther you eat or not. They have a distinction charge of $25 that added to your bill across all Boston hotel. So really that’s what the extra $25 is for not to save you on restaurant.

The food at the restaurant is horrible, the eggs omelettes are microwave and left on the counter to become cold, the cheese and charcuterie are drying out and served room temperature(disgusting), the juices are served room temperature, the clam chowder soup is watered down microwaved and tasteless. The meatballs are warm on the outside and cold on the inside so microwaved again and they are tasteless.

When you think you have a $25 voucher everyday for the restaurant, you think well at least it’s free and I don’t want to waste it and you figure, I will use it so naturally you suck it up and eat there. It doesn’t matter if you eat there or not, the voucher is applied to your room daily, this will cover the additional $25 surcharge in Boston. Instead of sucking it up, go to a real restaurant, heck go to McDonald breakfast, it is much better then the crap you eat at the hotel.

My kids and I liked this hotel. It’s not in the center of the city so getting on road is easier than from many other places. Cleaness and amenities were all satisfactory. Staff were friendly and helpful. The ladies checked us in before hours and showed us the parking lot one block away that was a lot cheaper than their valet.

The new $25 resort fee is a blatant money grab. I was forced to buy candy and snacks that I really didn’t want just to use the credit. The hotel is also starting to show it’s age and seeing badly stained carpets is clearly a sign that maintenance is needed. Maybe that’s the reason for the $25 fee?

My teen and I stayed at AC Hotel Marriott Boston Downtown and couldn’t be happier.

The location was really good; walkable to Chinatown, Boston Common, and more and, easy for Uber/Lyft. There are bus stops nearby (the bus stops on Washington Street and Union Park were super handy) and the Whole Foods right behind the hotel has hot buffet, pizza and other hot/cold food to take away.

Our room was quiet, comfy, and well appointed. The resort fee gave us extras: tickets to the top of the Prudential Centre, a full day of bus/train travel on top of the $25 to spend at the bar/restaurant. We used it for drinks and had such a nice evening winding down after exploring the city.

The staff were friendly and helpful, with the bar team making special off-menu mocktails for my teen.

Overall: For the price, this hotel exceeded our expectations which was a great result. Great location, fantastic staff, and perks that made our stay even more enjoyable. Definitely recommended!

Act of kindness

Our hotel stay was comfortable and convenient but what really impressed us was that the housekeeping staff, specifically Sonya, was SO kind. My husband hurt his back and was stuck in the room all weekend. Sonya got him ice and told another staff member to check in on him should he need anything. Such kindness goes above and beyond one's job description. It meant a lot to my husband. Please pass along our thank you to Sonya!

The night worker, a young black guy was excellent, extremely professional and took really good care of us, which made me think the entire staff was like that. The day time staff was the complete opposite. Dismissive of needs, not professional, and not helpful. Your room is only cleaned every other day. I would not stay there again.

Everything in the hotel is dark brown - dingy and depressing. Rooms overlooking a busy and very noisy freeway. Difficult to access clean towels or hang them to dry. If you are traveling with children, the breakfast is not something most kids will eat.
No pool or amenities but a $25 charge per room per day for a “resort fee”. We finally found out we could use it toward our $21 per person continental breakfast.
The $65 a day garage charge is obscene but unless you go across a very busy freeway, this is the only option.
Will not be returning to this hotel. As long time Marriott rewards customers, we were very disappointed.

The hotel was close to dining options and we walked into downtown Boston/Fenway (about 45 minute walk). Parking is expensive at the hotel so we parked one block away under the highway for $20/24 hour period.

Our room was spacious and we slept well - ask for the side away from the highway which is much quieter.

Steve at the front desk provided excellent customer service.

The noise at this hotel due to the location was terrible. It was constant traffic, engines reviving, horns blowing, police sirens, etc. The location was also not convenient to anything. Maps shows it being somewhat close to downtown but it was a very long and not great location if you are wanting to visit downtown Boston.

We had a great stay. Close to the T, safe area, friendly staff. The plumbing wasn’t working well but the front desk person said she would ask someone to go right up to look at it. It wasn’t noisy despite being near the highway. Good free coffee downstairs in the AM.

The location isn't great if you're visiting for the typical tourist places. Also its right next to the freeway so it's very loud. They do have a noise maker in the rooms but it wasn't loud enough so I needed to use my personal one as well. Also they charge an extra $25 a day which can be used for food/beverage credit but if you're like us, you're gone all day and so we only used it 1 out of 3 times so that was a big disappointment on top of an already very pricey hotel stay. The hotel itself is nice and clean but I would recommend staying in a better location if you can

Our hotel room faced the highway, which made it quite noisy. Additionally, both the TV and toilet were not functioning properly. Given the high nightly rate and the added cost of valet parking, the overall experience was surprisingly underwhelming.

You have to watch them like a hawk on the bill, especially the daily “resort” type fee… I was able to get it corrected but the one check out employee tried to not only charge, but double charge for it… it took talking to a manager to get it straightened out… the manager was nice, but if I hadn’t pushed, I would have been screwed

We arrived in Boston after 8 hours of driving, the hotel was a very pleasnt surprise. We walked to Boston Commons, found an excellent restaurant in the area, and the next morning Whole Foods was right next door. The hotel also gave us two \"T\" tickets to use for the next 24 hours. Really nice!!

The hotel itself was nice and clean. We had issues with our AC, which happens. It seemed they were understaffed as response time was delayed and follow through was not great. Overall their communication was not good. We let them know about the issue our first night and the response was after we had gone to bed. We asked for somebody to fix it the next day and we got no confirmation. I tried calling a few hours later to troubleshoot the problem and was left on hold so I went downstairs and waited for 40 minutes in the lobby at 10 PM. The following day they said they called but left no message or text regarding resolving the issue. Rachel at the front desk seemed annoyed when I asked for a new room. Some of the staff seemed to want to help but either didn’t have capacity or was equipped to do so. Overall they operated in a very clunky manner.

There were some nice things very convenient like a Whole Foods and coffee shop. The subway wasn’t too far away but was out of the way for mid day stops to be convenient.

The breakfast was delicious but expensive. Whole Foods and a great bakery are right next door. Staff is amazing. The location is next to a freeway. Our room had a white noise machine that helped. I’m guessing the other side of the hall that faces Whole Foods would be quieter. Overall, the room and gym are great. You can walk to Boston Commons from here.
