We loved staying at the Copley house! It was perfect for 2 people. The a/c worked great, the bathroom and kitchen areas were clean and well stocked. The staff in the main building were always friendly and helpful. This is not like a hotel—they do not come clean the room and changes towels every day. But you can always request towels from the main office. We used the laundry and it was a large capacity brand new machine. You do have to have cash to exchange for quarters in the main office. The location of Copley house is perfect—very easy to get anywhere around Boston.

We arrived in town much earlier than expected and after checking in with the staff were able to check in early, this helped us greatly! Having an assigned spot to leave are car during a visit was a huge plus for us. The apartment was easy to access and for us, was an easy walk to Fenway Park, Boston Public Gardens, Boston Common, Beacon Hill neighborhood, The Freedom Trail all the way to the Charlestown neighborhood around the Bunker Hill Monument.

You could hear heavy noises from the above floors - even if you walk on the floor it makes noise - the nights are even worse because I guess the kids were running in above floors and it was trembling down.

We were so happy with our stay here, the neighborhood is so cute and walkable. They were able to get our room ready earlier than the check in time which was a bonus. The room was very clean, and although it was on the smaller side it worked for us since we were spending majority of the time exploring Boston. It is within half an hour walk to major attractions and the subway stop is less than 5 minutes away. The only issue we had during our stay was some noise one morning with either the cleaning staff or guest making a lot of noise in the next room early in the morning around 630 that woke us up and seemed to continue for a couple hours. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

It was the first day for the guy working the front desk. While he was nice, he should not have been working alone. I called to ask where to park and he told me to park out front and I explained there was no parking after 6pm without a residential permit and parking authority was out front ticketing. After parking out back, I walked around the block to check in and he was having issues with the wifi and couldn’t log on to check me in. I asked if there was an entrance to the back and he told me he didn’t know, he didn’t know the property, it was his first day. When I rang the ring cam to come back in someone from another property answered, asked my name and told me I should be going to another building a block or so away, which I wasn’t made aware by the front desk. He came over to help out at the front and offered me a refund, which I took. Fortunately I hadn’t paid to park at the hotel yet, but was given the pass for my dash. I was also told I could park until after the Sox game, and then Oscar told me 2pm was the latest they could extend it the next day. There were rats in the backyard/seating area as well as the parking area as that’s where the residents have their garbage and recycling. I think staff should be trained so they’re set up to succeed and not give guests incorrect/inaccurate info.

My reservation showed the office address, but the day of check-in, I received a text about 30 minutes before I was to check in, as I was on a long flight. I saw door abd wifi codes, and went on about my touring having just arrived in Boston. I DID NOT NOTICE, NOR WAS THERE AN ALERT, THAT THE ADDRESS FOR MY UNIT WAS ALMOST ANOTHER MIKE AWAY FROM THE OFFICE AND DOWNTIWN BOSTON!!!
I didn't learn of the unit location until I arrived at the office for check in.
Some young receptionist that didn't seem to quite know much, said he could maybe get maintenance to give us a lift to the unit.
After. MUCH DISGRUNTLED comments about how this reservation was handled, he finally contacted the Mgr and said he \"upgraded\" us to the same kind of 1 bedroom suite next door. Annoyed that it took 30 minutes and many complaints to know they had a unit available. Then the front door code to open was \"trucky\", so we had to get his help. Why didn't he say that before we tried it??
Then, we're from the South, so we had no idea that a big box in the ceiling, w no AC controls evident, was actually an AC unit. Have NECER SEEN such a thing. We mentioned no AC the next morning, and they told us to look for a remote, and the ceiling \"box\" was an AC. Again, this would have been helpful to be mentioned in the check-in process.
Mgr next day saidcould cancel but w FIFA in town, not likely to find anything. Said various unit locations on website. BUT UNIT LOCATION SHOULD BE SET AT TIME OF RESERVATION, NOT ARRIVAL

We absolutely loved our stay. Tiny but it had everything we needed. Ok, bigger coffee mugs and a serving bowl would be great additions but the room was perfect and the shower pressure was the very best EVER! Any calls to the front desk (air conditioning remote) were answered easily and cheerfully.
We will absolutely stay here again.

A good place to stay in the downtown area of Boston. Easy, self-check-in access, pretty clean spot and responsive staff. I had a stay in a below-ground level unit that was rather dark in keeping it private, but overall the place was very quaint, clean and reliable. FYI that the walls are kinda thin so I could hear people softly talking, phones buzzing/alarms, etc. I'd likely stay here again, mainly because I suspect that there's slightly better units to stay in other than the one I stayed in.

Clean room, but parking if you have a rental car is not convenient. There are no elevators, as it’s in an old brownstone, so beware if you have a heavy luggage - you may be carrying it up 3 flights of stairs. Otherwise it was a nice room, comfy bed, and clean bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay at the Copley House. It was exactly as pictured and described. Location was convenient to many areas that we wanted to visit. It is within walking distance of Newberry Street and the mall. We were able to find transportation easily to get to other locations in Boston. There are plenty of restaurants in the area for all meals of the day. There are stores in the area to get items you might need for your stay. The host was quick to respond to all email & text communication. Check-in was very easy. We will book this location again.

I would not really call this a hotel. It is a series of row houses located within a half-mile of one another. I booked rooms with a group of 4 and we were in 4 different buildings within a 10 minute walk with each other. So, there really are no amenities (front desk, lounge, fitness center, restaurant, etc).

That said, the accommodations themselves were excellent. Clean and comfortable. While I encountered no staff, the communication by text message was excellent and informed me of everything I needed. The location is good and the price was very reasonable. If you do not need the amenities above and are a pretty experienced/independent traveler, I definitely recommend Copley House.

Room 107 at the main building is bare bones, tiny, and lacking in any aesthetics. The room had a partial tiny window and was about the size of a shoebox with hardly any room to put luggage. There were no wall hangings on the plain white walls and the room had no charm or warmth. It looked like a single room occupancy unit or dorm room. Way overpriced and a big let down from room 105, which is much nicer. One hook in the tiny bathroom was loose and coming off. On plus side, AC worked great, place was clean, and staff was very nice. Building is in great location and I’d stay again , just not in room 107. You need to be specific about what room and building you would like and can make requests, but no guarantees they will be honored.

This is our second stay at the Copley house and we would stay there again. Close to Northeastern and Fenway Park and a short train ride to downtown Boston. Close to grocery, shopping, restaurants. Laundry facilities in the building. Room was clean and modern and touchless entry was convenient.

This small studio apartment with large bathroom was located at 19 Garrison St in the Back Bay neighborhood. It was an excellent location within walking distance of many amenities, including restaurants, shopping, site seeing, and public transportation (only two blocks from the Logan Express shuttle pickup and dropoff). We had a little trouble getting our front door to unlock with our code, but the staff was quick to assist by phone. The apartment was clean and relatively well appointed. The only major drawback was that it was very noisy both inside and outside the building at all hours of the day due to poorly insulated walls, doors, and windows. The neighboring room was particularly loud, including setting off the fire alarm at 4AM. Hopefully, they're long gone by the time you enjoy your stay here.

Copley House is beautifully located a few steps away from prudential. Walkable to most downtown areas within 30 minutes. The buildings are well maintained and the rooms are super clean. Staff is extremely helpful polite and responsive. The cleaning lady was delightful and did her job really well. Kitchen is well equipped with a burner, oven, microwave, coffee machine and a refrigerator. Adequate supplies to brew several cups of tea/ coffee are provided. Laundry services in the basement are convenient and reasonable (wash cycle priced at $2 and a dry cycle at $1.5) Highly recommended for all visitors. The only negative is the place is pricey and rates fluctuate a lot.

The apartment was amazing, me and my girlfriend had a great time. The only minor issue that we didn’t like was how the floor was a little tilted and we received our room on the 4th floor and we had to put in a lot of effort to go up the stairs especially with bags. But other than that the apartment gets a 5 star, great area, safe, close to the mall, accessible to the bus stop.

I’ve lived in the outskirts of Boston for 24 years and I’ve never heard of it but I was attending a conference at the Hynes convention center. It was one and a half block away.
Parking was so easy right behind the brownstone I was staying .

very easy registration and access; helpful staff person who was ready for us and provided great information (including step by step instructions with pictures of location for parking and then getting in to building/room). She provided well designed printed cards for the process, including a pocket sized card with access code I carried around until I memorized it.

location is good, if a bit daunting for a small town dweller not familiar with Boston- many things to see right there, along with (sometimes confusing, although not Copley House's fault) abundance of transportation options.

Overall, it was a good experience to be in neighborhood location. A location that is centered around many of the places we needed to access for my son's graduation. The only thing that was disappointing is that I did not see (or may have not been obvious on the listing, is that these units are not contiguous with the main property and did not have elevator accommodations. I was informed of this after we made payment of the reservation. I want to be clear, that I would stay here again, and these only minor inconveniences, but when traveling with an 87-year-old person, it would have been helpful to see that stated more clearly upfront.

For the best outcome, it would be nice that they gave the heads up of which floor my room was. It was noisy at the floor I stayed; we heard the sound of heavy doors slam and hard wood floor steps after 8am every morning.

The apartment was a 10 min. walk from the main address of the Copley House, which was farther than we anticipated, but the apartment was charming, very clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful in offering us a room with a parking space included and advice on getting to the seaport during rush hour. Would definitely stay here again!

The property is located in a beautiful part of Boston. It was very clean and we had all the amenities we required. The staff looked after us very well. We were travelling from Scotland to Boston to participate in the Boston Marathon and the property was perfectly located. It was a nice property overall, but I must point out a few items that might be of interest to others.
I was disappointed to learn that the actual property I would be staying in was 0.4 miles away, in a completely different building than the one whose charming facade was pictured in the advertisement.
It was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, which became tiresome during the 10 days I was there, especially if I had to return for something.
The room was nice but the walls were very thin - I was woken up once by revelers on the street below and heard almost every word of the next door neighbor's conversation. And when anyone clonked up and down the stairs, the sound (and conversation) was particularly intrusive (I wish guests would be asked not to converse in the hallway).
I had some difficulty getting the fan to provide white noise.
I had no room service for my 10 days in the property; this wasn't an issue for me (I didn't actually ask for room service) but it might be for others.
Although I booked the room through Expedia, I received an email 2 days before arriving that I had to pay in full 24 hours before arriving because of the Boston Marathon which I did, but could have potentially lost the booking had I not checked my email.
The television had way too many channels.
Sorry for the complaints.

Very impressed with this little gem. Stumbled upon this place in searching for an affordable hotel in the Back Bay area. Great price, super clean, cute and perfect for my kids and me. A four-minute walk to the Prudential Center and the cutest little (safe) neighborhood. Staff was great. The communication and the customer service was excellent. They texted me when our room was ready and we were able to enter without having to stop at the main office (which is in another building). It was a beautiful place with lots of old Boston charm. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks Copley House!!!
