The location of the hotel was good for my vacation plans. The train station stops at Copley square are walking distance to the hotel. I was able to walk to the museums and Fenway park from the hotel. The other direction I walked the freedom trail from the hotel. Room was small but had everything I needed. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, it had a refrigerator. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A lot of restaurant options within walking distance. I would stay here again.

I stayed here for the Boston Marathon. This hotel was tucked away and quiet unlike many of the huge zoo-like hotels that had overwhelming lobbies pouring w runners. It was just what I needed to enjoy my race weekend. They fitness center is extremely small and was not good for stretching...I went to Planet Fitness.

First day, my room was 79 degrees and no AC. They could only open the window which made the room muggy, causing a terrible night of sleep.

Bathroom was filthy.

My Tumi bag ripped because a snag in their door...and all I received was \"Sorry\".

The location was the biggest advantage. The Staff was helpful and friendly. The elevator was very slow. The heat/air conditioning was either too cold or too hot. No comfortable level. The Hue Cocktail lounge was cute and the perfect place to hangout

Upon entering the room, I noticed that the overhead light was not functioning. This was further compounded by the lamp's lightbulb being non operational, resulting in inadequate lighting and difficulty getting ready. I contacted the front desk, who sent a repair technician. However, the lamp was found to be broken and remained nonfunctional despite the installation of a new lightbulb. The technician also indicated that there was no available solution for the overhead light at this time. Additionally, I noticed several small ants in the bathroom, including in the trash bin, around the toilet, and along the edge of the bathtub. If I weren’t concerned about the functionality of the room and pests, I would stay again. It was a quite cute and cozy hotel. With everything that happened, I will not be staying again at the current price point.

Love this hotel! As with many hotels in Boston, a standard queen sized room is on the smaller side, but very clean, charming decor and a great location. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Warm, welcoming place :)

There was no bar, no restaurant, no breakfast. Staff gave us great recommendations for local places. Room was clean but no place to sit other on the bed or on teeny-tiny chair at an equally Liliputian desk. Half of the TV channels were incorrect, showing channels other than what was advertised on screen... so for example, it showed I was watching FXX but the programming was a Spanish religious channel. No access to non-commercial television, and no streaming. I've stayed in -$100 hotels that offered AT LEAST Chromecast access.

I did not have any hot water in my room. It would only get slightly warm in the shower, but not hot, so I was freezing when taking a shower. Also, I was freezing at night time, and the heat would not go above 67, even when I turned it up.

Our 5th trip as a tourist in Boston. We wanted a nice place to stay with a good location but not in the main tourist area where we've stayed in the past. Back Bay is a great location, and this hotel was very good. We got a bigger room to have some space, and we liked the room. Yes, it's an older building that's been refurbished, so the showers are a little older than in brand-new hotels,. but everything worked just fine. The staff was great! The ice machine put out lots of ice. And we liked have the fridge in our room. There is a huge Star Supermarket right across the street, and you. have several restaurants within easy walking distance. Copley Square and 2 historic churces and the amazing Boston Public Library are just one big block away. Boston Commons is about 8 blocks, the St. Charles River and promenade are about 8 blocks the other direction, etc. We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Our room was VERY dark, only 1 light above the bed and 1 in the bathroom, none in the entrace way so entering it was hard to see. The room was very small but comfortable, bathroom had everything we needed and we had 2 complimentary waters which was nice. We ate dinner in our room but there is nowhere to sit other than the bed without a table. The staff was very nice but the elevator was kinda scary. Hotel only offers valet parking and is very expensive.

I was in room 118 just off of the lobby. Worst night sleep ever….pounding house music comíng from some nearby bar or something until 2 am,and constant door slamming and work noise from staff or cleaners….until even later. The TV is through Sling, but the poor connection meant nothing streamed. The room was largely clean but the toilet hadn’t been flushed, as there was poop bits at the bottom.

We had a comfortable, safe stay. All staff were friendly, professional and helpful. There was a very minor issue with the ac/heater. Carlos, from maintenance, took care of it quickly and efficiently. We have already booked another stay, for a Red Sox game this summer.

I will start by saying that we were able to check in early and the front desk gentleman was helpful and accommodating.

I didn't expect much for the money but I was left feeling like I overpaid. This was a no frills property to start, but add to that the hand lotion and hair conditioner bottles were left empty and there was short hairs all over the bathroom floor which did not match us. The air/vent system did not appear to work, leaving the room

We went to the hotel restaurant, Hue, for dinner but after sitting at the bar we noticed how filthy the entire bar was. Bottles of liquor were dirty, the floor was dirty and a small bucket was under a sink, filled with garbage that looked like it was being leaked into from the sink above. We did not stay for dinner, the one Tito's and club soda I ordered was $17!

Room clean but this stay was disappointed by upkeep of the room and a bathroom door had to slam 4-5 times to get it to shut. Just not the same experience I have had several times before staying. Inside room with view of a wall and a bit claustrophobic feel. Short stay but let front desk know of my comments and lack of a do not disturb sign where then bothered by knocking of housekeeping 35 mins before check out. Would be nice to have these in rooms as have had in past. Just seemed was in a \"quick deal lower service\" part of hotel this stay.

This hotel was in an extremely convenient location if you are planning to spend a lot of time in Back Bay. All of Newbury St is a walkable distance. The only downside is the hotel is pretty dated. Each room has a thermostat but it essentially doesn’t do anything because the hotel controls the air for the whole building. This was pretty frustrating on our first day because our room was up to 76 degrees and not cooling down at all. We ended up having to keep the window cracked open 95% of our stay in mid-march because it would get way too hot and stuffy (especially because the bathroom fan didn’t work). If you don’t mind doing the same, i’d say the hotel isn’t too bad for the price! Overall our floor (floor 6) was very quiet. The staff was generally nice and again the location was perfect for our stay. Just because of the air situation i’d probably avoid it in the warmer months but it was pretty comfortable during our march stay!

Historic property had plenty of charm, and the staff was beyond helpful. Hotel location was right between the Boston Library, the Prudential Center, and just a block from the subway station. Great spot for just about everything.
Studio king gave plenty of room, but you could tell the bathroom needed some renovation. Leaking bathtub faucet, small space, but still clean and we didn’t have any issues. The fitness center was small, but not very used which gave us plenty of space.

We definitely plan on coming back here for its fantastic price for what you get! It’s a great hotel with historic charm for a great price!

Overall we had a wonderful stay and Ben the front desk was awesome.

This is a very old building and therefore there's some challenges. The elevators are kind of wonky and one of them has an entrance about the size of a small child.

Our room was tiny but absolutely silent to street noise. We were in the back of the building. There were a bunch of random chords hanging down from the television and we had to use two remotes to operate the TV.

However, the bathroom was clean and we always have hot water.

The room came with a refrigerator and freezer which I don't remember seeing in another hotel room. We also had bottled water available to us every day.

I could never find a water fountain in the hotel I'm not sure if they had one.

Some slight details would make it a really spectacular hotel. Little things like shoring up the cords with the TV.

Vacuuming the front now at the entrance would be good. Cleaning up garbage around the entrance of the hotel.

Overall I thought this was a great stay and well worth the price.

I stay here regularly. Says it all, doesn't it? Nothing \"fancy\", not grand... just a lovely hotel, great staff. Good price. Essentials covered. Guest \"kitchen\" (free coffee, etc from machine, vending machine for snacks. Exercise room. Good bar with substantial snacks/ light meals. VERY convenient for Amtrak Back Bay

Had no experience with the bar. We had trouble with our room's ventilation. We called twice & were told to turn off heat at controls & room got hotter. When a guy came up, he opened the AC in the panel or something and the room temp finally dropped to 68 for sleeping. Our room this time seemed a bit more problematic than a Labor Day weekend stay. Hotel still a good value for Back Back & perfect location.

This is a charming heritage hotel, well placed for the T network and for exploring on foot. The room was very comfortable and quiet. It was excellent value for money. The only downside is there is no breakfast provision but there are coffee shops in the neighbourhood
