This hotel was good for what we needed it for. Upon check in was not told our reservation was switched from a king room that I booked to a double queen until we walked in the room to find that. Went back to the front desk and said the hotel was sold out and there was nothing they could do. Was informed that our room was changed without telling us because they give priority to their Marriott members. Was very unhappy about this. The room was ok. Bathroom was not very clean and there was hair all over the shower. Would probably stay somewhere else next time we go to Boston, but it was still an okay stay.

The hotel was ok. Staff very friendly and the room was good. However, the cleaning could be better. Nightstand has grime that was never wiped down. Majority of towels had either red/brown or yellow stains. They only clean every other day which is fine but only give you one bar of soap and only 2 coffees, so you have to ask for more. Homeless camp out at library next door but didn’t bother us. Gym is tiny.

I booked this hotel for a two night stay with my family of 5 for the pullout sleeper. Check in was pleasant. Upon arrival in our room, we noted how hot it was and quickly adjusted the temperature down from 73 degrees (it never actually changed temp). We noted the room was much smaller and darker than expected. We pulled out the \"sofa bed\" which was a twin size with a mattress that was essentially a thin blanket thickness over a metal rack. Our 13 year old definitely was too large to sleep on the pullout and even our 9 year old was uncomfortable. It was also noted that the headboard of the queen bed had a white substance smudged all over it. We called Expedia to see about cancellation as we had only been at the hotel less than a half hour and did not have a sleeping area for all of us. They reached out to the property and were told only the manager had the authority to authorize a refund and they were not in until 8am the next day. We checked out and into the nearby Westin. The next day we heard from Expedia that the property refused to offer even a partial refund even though we checked out after a half hour. I called the property and told them I would be stopping by to get my room key since I would be paying for the room and the women who answered hung up on me. I did not get the keys but did return to the property to physically ensure they had checked me out because the gentlemen did not the first time I turned my keys in. Please be careful booking this property- 950 wasted.

Unlike every other courtyard, this one does not include breakfast. The menu is very limited (4 items) and extremely overpriced. We paid $80 for 4 bagels with eggs and bacon that were pre-cooked and microwaved) and two coffees. The sleeper sofa is twin-sized which I don’t believe was advertised & was (a full sized sleeper) the entire reason we booked a suite (traveling with two kids). And the room layout made no sense. The bedroom was huge but the living room was so small that it was hard for my kids to move around the room.

The bathroom smelled of mildew and the floor always seemed dirty. The towels were very thin and I could see through some areas. The pillows were super thin and there was no variety to pick from. Bring ear plugs because other guests entering their rooms can be heard over the TV. The doors slam when closing. We could hear people outside talking from the 7th floor. The noise outside never seems to stop, trucks beeping while backing up, horns honking at all hours, and people yelling/talking. I would not stay here again.

Hotel was very nice. We parked our car in the garage next door for $46 per night. They also offer Valet Parking.
My only complaint is that we could not control the temperature of our room. We called the front desk and they assisted, but it did not work. We opened the window and that helped keep the room at 73 degrees.

Also close to the Hop On/Off trolley stop that made it even easier to see everything north of us. Would definitely stay here again. Only downfall was the hideabed. My teenage son slept on it the first night, but couldn't handle a second night in it and ended up sharing the bed with his sister.

This Courtyard is in a great location in the Back Bay Area of Boston. It’s minutes away by foot from the Prudential Center and Newbury Street with plenty of places to eat nearby. It is by no means a fancy hotel so we didn’t go in expecting much. The staff was all very friendly. There is a very strong “hotel”smell when you enter the lobby which is entirely unpleasant but just very strong, almost like they are trying to cover up something bad. This is an eco-friendly hotel and they don’t offer any housekeeping unless you stay is three days or longer. I am not opposed to this, however, our room was not very clean to start. There was some fecal matter in the toilet and long hairs in the shower/tub. The bed sheets looked to have some kind of set in stain, maybe pen? It made us wonder if anyone really cleaned the room after the previous guests. Generally speaking our room was very dark, no light in the entryway where the closet is, just a small sensor light in the closet. Our view was some awful back alley but I guess that’s just a result of getting what you pay for. All in all, this Marriott was not up to the standards of the brand and although, affordable and convenient, I would not look to stay here again.
